Printer failure after self-test .Deskjet 3650

hp deskjet 3650 printer failure. This happened after running a self-test to check ink level. Oddly, the test report printed out OK. I used the "lift cover 4 times" method to do the test

I have the same problem, starting 2 weeks ago.
I tried the suggestions at http://www.hp.com/support.
None of them worked.
Their advice in this case is: The product needs service.
Following this link, they checked my serial number and found that the printer was out of warranty.
They then displayed the message: The following services are available to you. Please choose ONE of the following:
You guessed it - there were no services available to me!
So what I am hoping is that someone can tell us how to fix it ourselves.

  • Card calibration failure but Self test pass

    Hi,
We have been using the cards for a year. Since the cards were due for calibration, we sent them for calibration. These were in working OK condition.
We were informed that 2 cards failed calibration test and need repair. However the cards are passing the self test or reset from the MAX tool as per them.
    Question:
1> Whats the purpose of self test if failures are not reported? Can calibration circuit fail if the cards are just 1year old i.e. calibrated once only by NI before delivery.
2> Is it possible that the measurements we did for last year could have been wrong as its not possible to calibrate now?
3> Is it possible to know if these failures happened due to negligence at the calibration company side?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can check the card out by using the Measurement & Automation (MAX). Select the device in the Devices and Interfaces tab.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 (Printer Failure after changing ink)

I use an hp Officejet Pro 8600 on a windows 8.1 operating system. About a week ago i replaced my black ink but after restarting my printer, an error message arreared on my screen which reads ' There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persist, contact HP'. I have since turned off my printer and turned it back on but that has not solved the problem. What do i do next?

Yes if the printhead is damaged, it would need replaced (to print). But beforedo that, please double check it's not something simple like forgot to removethe protective cover, didn't seat the cartridge properly, etc. see: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDispl...

  • Printing failure after JAVA updating ??

I have an HP LaserJet 1022 which used to work fine with my iMac. Some days ago, I have noticed that it works aleatory. For instance, if I send a job to print, so it print them sometimes totaly, sometimes partialy. Sometimes, it does'nt print at all. The quality of the printed text -...if it is printed- is good. I have uninstalled and reseted the printer allready a lot of times. I don't know what else can I do... I'm not sure, but I think this issue must be related with the Java update, for previously I had'nt had this problem. Could you help me, please?
    Thanks a lot!
PD: Excuse me for my english!

P.S. I should assume this is an issue of non-support for leopard... but is Epson not supporting Apple or the other way around?

  • I cannot get my HP PSC 1610 or HP Deskjet 3650 to print in color. I Need Help Please!

I have a PSC 1610 and a deskjet 3650.  Both printers have good ink levels and I have cleaned the cartriges, printed test pages, and troubleshot them.  Neither will print color!  The grayscale box is not checked and I have been through all the steps online to try to rectify the situation and nothing is working.  Test pages just print out black type.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printers and updated the drivers.  I'm out of ideas.  Please Help!

  • My deskjet 3650 will only Print if I reboot my computer.

When I instruct my HP Deskjet 3650 to print, nothing happens. But if I shut down and reboot my computer it then begins to print. So every time I want to print something, after giving the print command, I have to turn off and restart my computer for the printing job to commence.
My computer is a Dell Inspiron Laptop. OS is Windows XP home editio.

    Hi wjlaky,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You've already done a great job troubleshooting this issue so far where your iPad's screen will not rotate, as there is just one more step to follow.  The next step is to back up and then restore your iPad to factory settings.

  • DeskJet 3650 background color printing in FastDraft

I need help finding a way of printing the alternating color backgrounds in Office 2007 (especially Access alternating report backgrounds) using my DeskJet 3650 printer using the FastDraft print quality option.
    Any help would be appricateed.
    Thanks.

After extensive research, I found that the cartridge is outdated; therefore color printing doesn't work. We have several cartridges that are outdated and did not know how to check date (NOW WE KNOW). Using an unexpired cartridge we had LIFT OFF!!!!

  • Printer self tests good, clear. But, printed documents are dim and streaked

After cleaning cartridges I ran printer self tests, etc.  Everything at that point is great.  But, when I print a document the print is  dim and every other line only partially prints. Any suggestions as to cause of my problem and how to fix?

    Hi @Threep,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It's possible that the tests are putting forth a composite black or something of that nature.
Can you please perform a Black Copy and a Color Copy and let me know how those pages look?

  • To check ink levels I am told to print self test. page from cpu or printer.

There is no way to print a test page on my" psc 2410 all in one" connected to a HP cpu with Win 7, 64 bit. Is there a workaround/

The page here shows how to print a self-test report from the front panel, but it does not appear to have ink level information.  I have not used a PSC 2410 for years, but the following may give you what you need:  press the # and * buttons together on the printer.  The screen will say "Enter special key combination".  Press 1 2 3.  This should bring up a service menu.  Use the right arrow button repeatedly to bring up a "Special Reports" screen, OK, then right arrow to select "Cartridges" or some similar, then press OK. A page will print with ink level information shown about the middle of the page.

  • SQL connection errors when stress testing mobile service: SQL failure after 3 attempts

I have created a Mobile Service (node.js), which has been running for a few months with 50-100k api calls per day with no issues.
The usage of the service will be scaled up soon, and it will receive much higher traffic, so I am running stress tests (on a staging deployment of the same service).
The api in question queries data from the sql database that is attached to the mobile service, but caches the resulting data in a redis database for 5 minutes, so each call with identical parameters will not access the SQL database, just the redis cache.
My first test never has any problems:
Run a single api calls as fast as possible using the program wrk (https://github.com/wg/wrk). This test never has a problem, and I have run it an hour continuously with a sustained rate of 200 req/s and very few timeout errors.
The second test always causes problems:
I created a list of 5 different api calls to the same service (same endpoint, but different parameters), and I run those randomly interweaved as fast as possible. I use the program locust (http://locust.io) for this, spawing 10.000 clients at a rate of 500
per second. For the first few seconds everything goes ok, but then connections start failing massively.
    I get mostly:
Error: SQL failure after 3 attempts. Error: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]TCP Provider: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected
    host has failed to respond.
     (SqlState: 08001, Code: 10060)
And I see this in the http response:
ConnectionError(ProtocolError('Connection aborted.', gaierror(8, 'nodename nor servname provided, or not known')),)
The strange thing is that since I am running the same five calls repeatedly, only the very first of each call will actually access the sql database, every subsequent call will just return data directly from redis, and not try to access the sql database at
    all.
In the azure console for the sql database in question, I see 1860 successful connections and 11 failed connections, which does not explain the massive failure rate I am seeing.

Thanks for sharing your tips on this forum, as it will be useful for other users, that run into this issue.
Feedback like this will also help us improve error reporting in the next release, as missing class files in the packaged application is a common issue when developers are moving from the embeded oc4j instance packaged with JDewveloper to standalone instances.

  • HP4275A can not pass self test after running the labview program

I am using Labview to control HP4275A LCR meter. The Labview program is just the instrument driver for the HP4275A, and it works great. Before running the program, the instrument can pass both Open and Short test perfectly. But after running the program, it can not pass self test, neither Open nor Short. I don't know why?? Is it relative to my Labview program??
    Thanks

Thank you so much for your help. Yes, the instrument is in Local after running the instrument driver. In normal Open self test, just choose Capactiance as the Display A, and leave the four output terminals open then press the Self Test button. The Open self test will start and "OP" will be shown in the DIsplay A window, after 2 seconds, the open test will be finished. If something abnormal, the number of the abnormal step is displayed in Display A. Similar with the Short test.
The problem I had was: before running the instrument driver, the self tests pass; but after running the instrument driver, the Open and Short test show abnormal, Open test is abnormal at step 17, and Short test is abnormal at step 24.
And the instrument driver is only write commands into the instrument and then read back measuring values from it. Nothing else. So I am not sure if the problem is my instrument driver.
The weird thing is the problems happened several times and then if I do the Open and Short self test again after running the instrument driver, both pass. I am not sure whether the problem will come back or not.
    Ia there any help??
    Big thanks

  • Lost Deskjet 5740 printer driver after upgrade.

Lost Deskjet 5740 printer driver after upgrade. HP site has a download but it does not appear in the driver list after downloading it. Ideas?

Okay, as of last night, both the printers are working fine. I uninstalled the 5740 and then tried several different rearrangements of the two printers. First I tried hooking the 5150 to the AEBS and it printed fine. Then I tried hooking the 5740 to the AE and it printed fine. Finally, I tried my original configuration with the 5740 hooked to the AEBS and it printed fine! Very frustrating.... I'm not sure if Apple sent an update I downloaded in the meantime that fixed the problem or what. I can't think of any other possible explanation.
So to recap, I can vouch that I have an HP Deskjet 5740 connected to an AEBS and an HP Deskjet 5150 connected to an AE, all set up on a WDS (wireless distribution system) with Leopard and everything works as expected. Hopefully your printer magically started working again as well Bibycat.

  • Ipod nano starts with a self-test after sleep

My new Ipod nano runs a kind of self-test if it was at sleep for a couple of hours.
Does this have to be? If not how can I determine specifically what is wrong? Thanks

    Gert,
When iPods are not used for a period of 24 hours of more then they go into something called "Sleep Mode" or "Deep Sleep".
You'll see the Apple logo when you try to turn your Nano back on which is normal, you are "waking up" the iPod.
I've never heard or seen of such self-test, is it still on self-test? Or you want suggestions on how to get out of that?

  • I have vertical lines when printing even after changing cartridges.

I have vertical lines when printing even after changing cartridges. There are no lines when copying, faxing or scanning, only printing. I have cleaned the glass, scanner and even dusted where the toner cartride slides in.  Any suggestions?

Sorry but I have worked on laser printers for over 20 years and never encountered your issue.  That is of course if you are explaining it correctly.  When you make a copy to be printed or print a reports page from the printer or send a print job to the printer, if in all these cases you get the line, then yes the issue is either the toner cartridge or the fuser.  If you make a copy to be printed and it prints without the line (Put original in adf, press copy button and print should come out), then you have one weird unit since it does not make sense since the print formatter on the unit whether making a copy or printing from the computer or unit itself uses the same hardware.  Now to test if the printed copy has a line then just put a sheet of paper on top of the feed tray and do a self test from the printer.  When the back edge of the paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop the printing.  Remove the toner cartridge and look at the image below.  If the defect is present the toner cartridge is the issue and if the image below does not have the defect, then the fuser needs to be replaced.  Best I can do.  Good Luck.
