Printer friendly Template

I have to print a report in printer frndly format that has Print and return commands on the page . I have actually got the format but
1, I need to be able to change the size and shape of the fonts in the report,
2, It should fit into A4 size sheet.
3, right now i am getting dotted lines after each record , it should changed into a horizontal line.
Is there any example which explains this to me.

Hey Lucy,
Look at both links, that last link has print-friendly on yes, this will make the theme use the print friendly template.

I have latered the print friendly template to make the font look bigger and bold as an example for you.
Hope this is what you were looking for...

    To me this is such an obvious missing feature that I've been asking Apple for it for years. Perhaps you should too: http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/

  • Help needed with Printer Friendly template.

    Hi
    I know there loads of posts on here about "Printer Friendly" Templates which are far from being printer friendly. My problem is that most of my reports are very wide and therefore if you print it you loss the right hand side of the report even if you change the page layout.
    Any Ideas or working examples of getting my reports onto a page without it been cut off?

    Can anybody help me?

    same thing with the region title only the sides of the border are printed.
    any suggestions as to why this is??

  • No Printer Friendly Link

    Hi,
    I am using Apex 3.0.1 on Database XE
    For some reason there are no "printer friendly" links on any of my pages (regardless of which built-in theme I use)
    In the past when I have used Apex 2.2 at my workplace, all of the default themes came ready with a printer friendly link on the page.
    What do I need to do to get easy access to printer friendly view (using the built-in printer friendly templates in each theme).
    Thanks,

    John,
    Get started here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32472_01/doc/appdev.300/b32471/demo.htm#sthref120
    Essentially, you create a page template, then set the theme your using to use that template, and then create a link that goes to the page in printer friendly mode. Let me know if you still have questions after.

  • Change Report Font Size for Printer Friendly Page

    I have a report using a template of 'Reports Region' and I have a link to a printer friendly page. Because the report text is so big I would like to make it smaller. I have already reduced the width of the report region but that has made 2 page reports run into 4 pages. I tried adding tags to the page to modify it but I was only able to make the text at the top of the page smaller and not the report. I tried modifying the theme_V3.css file but I could not find a place to modify text/font size in the report (This was trial and error as I am unfamiliar with css).
    I would like to only have it smaller on the printer friendly page but if I will be forced to change it all the time I would like to know if there is at least an option.
    If the only way to make this happen is to build a custom report then so be it. (But again the printer friendly page only pulls in the current page and I want it to only be small on the printer page)
    I am on V2.2.
    Thanks

    You need to use a print media stylesheet. You'll need to find class(es) or other CSS selector(s) to attach the font size rule(s) to - look at the HTML source for your page.

    can I change it to be more like columns side by side to save paper?

    S,
    I assume that you also have Pages on your computer (or some other capable WP program). I also assume that you have eliminated any unnecessary columns, so you have a 1-column table in Numbers.
    When it comes time to print, Copy the entire Table: Click on the table name in the Sheets Pane and Command-C.
    Switch to Pages, open a blank WP template and set the number of columns to 3 or so. With the Text Insertion Cursor flashing on the first line of the first column of the blank template, Command-V. Your table should paste into the Pages document as an Inline Object and will Wrap on the page as you desire. Then Print in Pages.

  • How to do a "printer friendly page"?

    Hello,
    I have searched a lot but I didnt find a tutorial
    that work.
    I am using ASP Vbscript.
    Any help will be very appreciated.
    Thanks

    You seem to have misunderstood the use of the print.css
    This is used on the same page as the normal css script, but
    is only seen by
    the printer.
    Read the link Murray has so kindly provided.

  • A script to display all rows on printer friendly mode

    Hello,
    I use IR with a navigation bar entry to open the printer friendly mode.
    Now I can hide the regions I want and I have modified the template, it works fine.
    But I would like to consistently display all rows in the IR (in this mode). How could I do that ? Maybe can I add a script in the template header but I don't know what exactly...
    Maybe something like gReport.search('SEARCH', this."100000"); ?
    Anyone'd have an idea ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Fanny

    Ok, I think I have found a sort of issue :
    -> On page 0 (so it works on all pages) I created a dynamic action that display all rows on the IR :
    Event : Before page submit
    Settings : Execute Javascript Code = Search ();
    Affected elements : IR region
    Type condition : Printer Friendly Mode
    ... + function 'Search' located in the template header :
    function Search ()
    gReport.reset();
    $('#apexir_SEARCH').val($x('100000').value);
    gReport.search('SEARCH');
    };-> On each page properties I added (javascript when page loads) (if the user refresches the page on the standard mode) :
    gReport.search('SEARCH');So when the user open the printer mode, all rows display, when he returns to application , the IR hasn't moved.
    If he refreshes the page, all rows display too (the value is set to 100000 rows) but the gReport.search('SEARCH'); take, in a second time, the search bar value, that hasn't changed.
    And that's it !

  • Need help with printer friendly

    I would like to create a new template for printer friendly mode. I would like the text to appear just as large and in the same locations in printer friendly mode just as it appears on the form before clicking the print button .Could someone please lead me in the right direction on what to do. Please take into account I am not a HTML guru.
    Thanks

    Hello
    I would like to know how to have a printer friendly page print according to my printer preferences. Currently when I print I am left with what appears to be pieces of graphics around a report as well as not printing in duplex mode as the printer preferences define.
    I too am not an HTML programmer, are there additional setups to check aside from the "Printer Friendly" checkbox?
    Thanks for any help

  • Printer friendly

    I've had a request to put some printer-friendly versions of
    pages on a site. I've never really thought about how thats done.
    Obviously for things like documents it can be a text or doc
    file. When designers are doing this for a web page do they simply
    create a captured version (like a pdf created with tools like
    SnagIt)?

  • "printer friendly" doesn't work

    Thank you for prompt reply.
    I have copied all css into print.css
    But I didnt follow how to do a link to other "printer
    friendly page" with
    all url parameters of the original page.
    Actualy, I have an ASP page with several dynamic data (with
    recordset
    paging). What I want to do is a "print" link to another ASP
    page, in order
    to print all content of my database without paging stuff.
    Am I clear? Sorry my english is terrible.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Page Header and Footer in Printer Friendly mode

    Hi,
    I have a report which has more than 500 rows and I want to print them.
    The printer friendly mode works fine, but is it possible that there is a page "header" and "footer" on every page which is printed?
    For example, that the column headings are on every page which was printed?
    Or that at the bottom of each page is the page number displayed?
    Does anyone have an idea?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    IE and Firefox are designed for WEB pages.
    WEB pages are on Internet. Security is important and browser should not compromise user to use it.
    Many users=Many printers!
    If you want to write app for especially one printer and know users (Intranet application) then here is what you can do:
    1) Use IE
    2) write your own ocx with interface for your needs.
    3) every user should implement this ocx in their browser.
    4) When they accept your ocx, then in this "small app" you could do as much as this user can do on their own windows. So setting printer, orientation and size is a peace of cake.
    5) make your report regarding this printer
    And this is it!
    And few other things...
    If user choose larger font then your HTML is broken!!!
    For that I think that PL/PDF or Mail merge is better solution!

  • Print Module templates layouts do not update on the fly

    Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This occurs in all three Layout Styles. The very first layout chosen in Single Image/Contact Sheet, Picture Package, or Custom Package is the permanent 'default' and cannot be changed. The Preview will show as expected however any image stays stuck in the very first layout I chose after installing LR4 beta.
    For example, I first chose Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size, and Layout Style>Single Image/Contact Sheet. Clicking through any other Templates (Lightroom or User defined) will alter the preview but not the layout display in the Print window. Same problem in either of the other Layout styles. I have been trying for days to rectify this, but it seems somehow more difficult than LR3. and not what I expect.
    As a comparison, using the same steps in LR3 works perfectly as all print template/layouts can be changed on the fly as expected. I have no problems generating different layouts in LR3 and have been using LR print module since version 1 without this issue.
    Is this a bug or are there any extra steps or workarounds I have not discovered? Any other testers seen this?

    Update with more info. What am I doing wrong, if anything?
    Print layouts do not update on the fly when attempting to choose between various Print Module>Template Browser> Lightroom or User templates. This is not a hang since the layouts do not change after the initial choice no matter how much time elapsed.
    iMac OS 10.6.8. 8GB RAM.Processor Intel Core 2 Duo. NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS.
    The steps as follows:
    1) Lightroom 3.6 & LR4Beta exist side by side.
    2) LR4 Beta> Print Module;
    3) From filmstrip choose image;
    4) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>Maximum Size;
    5) Preview displays as expected;
    6) Layout Styles>Single Image/Contact Sheets
    7) Template Browser> Lightroom4Beta Templates>click through any other templates (Lightroom or User defined);
    8) Image layout in main window does not update;
    9) Previews update;
    10) Layout Style>Picture Package;
    11) Template Browser>Maximum size is then automatically shown, however the template in the main window is actually (1) 7x5, (2) 2.5x3.5;
    12) Any further attempts to change the layouts regardless of Style Layout choices are not successful.
    13) Close LR4Beta>re-open LR4Beta;
    14) Repeat test;
    15) Print Module layouts do not update on the fly as expected;
    16) Close LR4Beta and all applications;
    17) Reboot iMac.
    18) Open LR4Beta only;
    19) LR4Beta>Print Module>Template Browser >Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
    20) Image displays in main layout window with Template and Preview display as expected;
    21) Choose different image>Template Browser>Lightroom Templates>Maximum Size;
    22) Click through templates, layouts DO NOT update in main window although previews do automatically update.
    23) CONCLUSION - In Lightroom 4 Beta>Print Module>Template Browser, image layouts do not change after initial choice as expected.
    I posted this on Photoshop.com as a problem.
