Printer getting offline

Printer getting offline. They are able to use  Printer once they are connected to Local LAN(printers there are added locally using IP), they are using  VPN Cisco Any connect. Whenever users wants to  take
printouts they have to  disconnect from VPN then only they can fire the prints.
user are facing this  issue  while disconnecting from VPN the local printer also  gets offline, user has to reboot the machine to take a print every time.

Hi svigneshh,
The main issue is that disconnecting the printer from VPN will affect the other printers ,right ?
First of all ,I would suggest you to check the status of the printer spooler service (Serivce.msc) after disconnecting the printer from the VPN .
We also can try the following fixit tool to have a automatical diagnostic.
Diagnose and fix printer and printing problems automatically
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/printing_problems/en-us
According to the symptom ,we can try to configure the following group policies to isolate the printer to have a check .
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers\Execute Print Drivers in Isolated Processes  ,Override Print Driver Execution Compatibility Setting Reported by Print Driver
Here is a link for reference of the two policies.
Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2: Print Driver Isolation
http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2009/10/08/windows-7-windows-server-2008-r2-print-driver-isolation.aspx
To troubleshoot this issue futher ,we could try to work without the VPN to verify whether it is related to the VPN .

    Hello Betty7,
Please let me take a moment to say "Welcome" to the HP Forums.
I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see that you are having an issue with getting the printer reinstalled.
I suggest that we start off by running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  If the Doctor fails, please let me know where it fails as well as any error codes it may generate.

  • My Mac tells me my printer is "offline." How can I get it back online?

I have my HP deskjet printer on my home network via Airport Express. My main router is an Airport extreme. I attempted to print from my Macbook but got a message that my printer was "offline." I could print from my iMac. I attempted to fix the problem with my Macbook by following advice I got here in discussions by deleting the printer with the intention of re-adding it. Could not figure out how to re-add it. Later, when attempting to print again from my iMac, I get the offline message again. Help is appreciated!

Give yourself a star, I found the web page that says your printer is no longer supported by HP. BUT it is supported under Gutenprint, I found it on their list. I would install their driver and see if that corrects your problem.  Here's their page
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/index.php
I don't know how old your printer is but I suppose we can't expect HP to support them forever huh? If you still have problems maybe we can figure a way to get old drivers that work and install them.

  • Wireless printer is offline and I can't get it back online

I have a HP Envy 700-414 Desktop PC operating with Windows 8.1 (64-bit) system that was connected wirelessly to a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer.  It worked fine for the first couple of days.  Now it says that my printer is offline.  I've tried several troubleshooting tips, but none have worked.  How can I get my printer ONLINE again?? Please help!  Getting frustrated!!

    Hello,
Thanks for the post.  I might recommend checking this document below to address the offline messages.  We may just have some stubborn print jobs in queue that have not printed that need to be cleared.  Good Luck!

  • Printer is offline all the time! Help!

My wireless HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw goes offline all of the time.  We have printed the wireless configuration pages that state that there is not a problem and that the printer is connected with a good signal.  We can print off our phones wirelessly (anywhere in our house), but the printer does not seem to communicate with our Dell Inspiron (crappy Windows 8).

    Hi @fcu ,
I see that printer keeps going offline on the computer, but you can still print using your phones wirelessly.
I can help you with this.
Most likely the router reassigned the printer a new IPv4 address and the computer isn't recognizing it.
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IPv4 address.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
Check the port showing on the computer, to make sure it matches the printer's IPv4 address.
Go to the start up screen, (tiles menu) type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printers.
Right click on the printer and left click printer properties, select the ports tab.
Click on configure port to view the IPv4 address.
If the IPv4 address doesn't match the printer's IPv4, then create a new port with the new IPv4 address.
    Close the configure port window.
Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
Type in the proper IPv4 address for the printer.
Make sure the printer is online.
    Test the printer.
If the problem persists, follow the steps in this document for the printer being offline.
'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP Printer Will Not Print.
I would also setup a Static IP address, to the router will assign the same IP address.
Printer Does Not Maintain a Wireless Connection.
Disregard the title. Go to Solution three: Assign the printer a static IP address.
    Let me know the outcome.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Thank You.

With only one cartridge light blinking I would suspect the cartridge, they do rarely fail (much more often for reman cartridges, see here).  Clean the cartridge contascts as shown here.  If that fails and the cartridge is an original HP then check the warranty date as shown here.  If the cartridge is in warranty return it to your dealer for a warranty replacement.
The printer will automatically switch to backup mode if the black (or color in some printers) cartridge is removed.  I do not know if this works with the PSC 1510, some all-in-on devices insist on having both cartridges present.

  • How to Determine If Printer is Offline from Terminal?

My printer is connected via USB, but the device it powered off. In System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners, the printer has a red dot with "Offline" as its status.
How can I obtain a printer's "online/offline" status from Terminal?
    lpstat -s reports:
    system default destination: Canon_iP4200_2
    device for Canon_iP4200_2: usb://Canon/iP4200?serial=306DD0
    lpstat -p reports:
printer Canon_iP4200_2 is idle.  enabled since Thu Nov  7 09:36:45 2013
So the printer is idle, but it is also "offline". How do I see the "offline" part in Terminal?

    Hi Larry
You can use this command to list the status in terminal
    lpstat -p
You will get a list of all the printers and for an offline one like this it will be on the next line from the current job status
    printer Samsung_ML_1510_700 now printing Samsung_ML_1510_700-131.  enabled since Wed 18 Dec 15:41:11 2013
              The printer is offline.
For normal ones you get this
    printer Peninsula_Port_2_Datamax is idle.
    And for disabled ones this
    printer I4208 disabled since Thu 27 Jun 16:56:31 2013

  • Using JetDirect 175x with LJ 3200 and getting offline after a short time

I have a HP LJ 3200 connecting to my home network via a JetDirect 175x print server, using a D-Link router. All was good until I updated the firmware on the D-Link router. This changed the network IP scheme from 192.168.15.x to 192.168.0.x. I decided to change all devices to 0.x. I get a connection to the print server and am able to print but it seems to timeout, the printer shows offline on my laptop, after a while of inactivity. I am unable to ping the device after that. I unplug the network cable and plug it back in and it re-connects. Is that a setting I need to make to keep the connection open? Thanks. ..

Thats the problem with the third party apps. You have no luck until they update it to work properly.

  • Canon Pixma MX 450 printer showing offline with OS X 10.7.5

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I joke with Canon's IT department that I keep them employed! I was calling them at least twice a week for a few weeks to try to fix the problem, but was unable to find a resolution. I returned a less expensive Canon printer today, in a desperate attempt to get my wireless connection to work! I just installed a Canon Pixma MX450 wireless print, copy, scan, fax with my OS X 10.7.5. Everything seemed to be going great. The setup was fine when communicating between the router and printer; none of those connections failed. However, once I installed the software from Canon and tried to setup the wireless connection from the computer to the printer, the printer could not be detected wirelessly-I had to pull out the 'ol USB. With the USB, the printer was detected. The test print page printed, which game me a false hope! I tried a dummy page from Pages and Word both, but nothing prints. The printer error indicates the printer is offline and not connected. This is the same problem I had with the less expensive Canon. Help! I want to be able to use the wireless function that I paid for to print. Thanks

When you connected the MX450 to the Mac via USB cable, it would have created a printer in Print & Scan for this USB connected printer. If you then disconnect the MX450 USB cable from the Mac but then attempt to print to the MX450 using the printer that was created for the USB connection, this will result in the "Printer Offline" message.
So, are you trying to print with the MX450 printer that was created for the USB connection?
If you are not using the USB printer and definitely using the printer that you created when the MX450 was connected to your wireless access point (wireless router), then try removing this printer from Print & Scan and creating the printer again.
If you cannot find the printer when you try to add it again then check the wireless network settings via the control panel on the front of the printer. It will confirm what wireless network it is connected to and what IP address it has acquired.

  • CP1525NW connected to wireless network. Running W7 64 bit. Printer shows offline constantly.

I have a desktop and laptop configured with W7 64 bit. On laptop printer works fine, on desktop printer shows offline constantly and the only way to get it running again is by uninstalling the software and reinstalling. I have gone online and downloaded the drivers for 64 bit but I keep getting messages indicating the HP (xxxxx) program 32 bit has stopped working. Not getting this on laptop. They are connected to the same wireless network. Help? - Thanks

Let's try to get the printer back to 192.168.0.103.
Browse to the printer's web page again.
    Select Networking, then Wireless.
    Select IPv4 Configuration.
    Select Manual IP Address
Enter 192.168.0.103 for the Manual IP Address
Enter 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask
    Enter 192.168.0.1 for the Gateway
    Press Apply.

  • MX452, appears to be connected but cannot print, error message "the printer is offline"

Hi everybody, I recently moved and lost the USB cord that I used for the computer to be hooked up to this printer. I followed all of the directions on how to set up the wireless printer without the cord. I got the message at the end that said I was connected, but I still cannot print! I keep getting a message that says "the printer is offline." PLEASE HELP!
    Thank youDani =)

  • ENVY 5530 printer showing offline on ipad

Just bought the ENVY 5530. Set up on home computer is fine, but not able to print from iPad.  Keep getting error message stating printer is not online.
I've checked printer status on HP Connected and it shows online. Wifi connection indicator (blue light) on printer control panel is lit and not blinking. How is it possible that the iPad can locate the printer, but still come back with a message that the printer is offline?  How else could the iPad locate the printer - makes absolutely no sense.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.  Please do not send me the following lnk as I found it to be useless.

    Hi There,
You should be able to print using the iPad's in built printing app, AirPrint.
On IOS7 when selecting your image to print, try following the steps below:
If you're still not able to print using AirPrint, then I'd suggest powering down the printer and plugging it out for 30 secs before powering up again. If you still can't print, I would then restart your iPad and try to print again.
When you click the options Icon you should then be able to select the print Icon below: (You might need to scroll right after you hit options button to see the print icon)
You should then be in a position to select your printer. If the wi-fi function is on, then it should be visible.
