Printer hangs from Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.2

Windows 7 x64
HP Color Laserjet 5550 PCL 5 over TCP/IP Port
Printer hangs for a very long time and then generates an error, but no record of it in Printer event log.  The spooling size of the PDF is also incredibly large compared to the actual size of the document.  This problem has just emerged after the upgrade from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.
Help!

Have you checked to see if this might be related to duplex being automatically selected in the printing dialog in version 10.1.2? To turn it off try the following:
Open the PDF you want to print.
Click the Print icon to open the Print dialog box.
Click Size, and then deselect Print On Both Sides Of Paper.
It's a known issue with the 10.1.2 update.

  • PDFs from Adobe Acrobat Pro not printing with Yosemite

I am unable to print PDFs from Adobe Acrobat Pro 11.0.09 since installing Yosemite 10.10. I have been check-marking "print as image," which worked previous to Yosemite.
I am now printing via the Apple Preview, but despite selecting 1 copy, it is printing 10 of everything.

    Hi,
IO must say, it seems to work now without me having to tick the Print as Image box.

I cannot print a PDF from Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader.  I tried on both MacBook Pros we have here, both now with Mavericks.  Error message says "Opening printer connection failed.  Unable to open printer connection . . . • Printing problem from Adobe Acrobat 8 and Reader 9

    Hello together,
i've got a problem while printing from Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 and Acrobat Reader 9.
I've got the Error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster failed
It happens with my new Canon ip4700 and my brother laser printer.
I got the newest available Version of OSX and the Adobe Updates.
The PDF files are printed in the "OSX Preview", but not in the Adobe Software
Happy for any help or advice.
    Best,
    Lukasz

Acrobat 8 and Reader 9 are not compatible. The only versions of Reader and Acrobat designed to be compatible with each other in Windows is Reader and Acrobat X.

  • From: Adobe Acrobat Pro 6.0 to Adobe Reader 10:  Uninstall First?

    Hello:
I have Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 installed on my PC now. I use it only to read PDF files and occasionally sign one.
It does not upgrade to later versions from within the program.
I'd rather use the Adobe Reader to view PDF files. I see Adobe Reader 10 is the latest version.
    1) Is it necessary to first uninstall the Adobe Acrobat 6.0 before installing the Adobe Reader? Or can I simply install  Adobe Reader
    directly over it?
    2) If I uninstall Adobe Acrobat first, would the PDF files I already have stored on my PC be readable with the new adobe Reader?
    Thanks in advance:

After that, I tried installing Adobe Reader 10 over it, but Got the same error
    Error 1327 Invalid Drive E
I have no E drive connected now at all.
Not sure why i cant uninstall Adobe Acrobat nor install Adobe Reader over it.
Any ideas waht that error message means?

  • Printing from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

I combined 10 Excel files into a single pdf for the purpose of being able to number the pages consecutively instead of having them restart at '1' when each file was printed.  The file is printed double-sided booklet.  The issue is that each of the original files does not have an even number of pages to print.  As such, the beginning of one report may start on the back of another report.  The users want to be able to see the start of each report on the front side of a piece of paper.  In essence, I need the printing to act as though a blank page is being printed for each report that has an odd number of pages.  It is okay for the blank page to be numbered, but need the next report to print on the front side of the paper.  Are there print settings that allow that to happen?  I don't want to manually insert the blank pages since I have to do this at least 20 times each month and some files have up to 30 reports in them.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

  • How do I remove a digital signature from Adobe Acrobat Pro.  I have set it up wrongly.

I created a digital signature but I wanted to change the signature and it also was not password protected. So I deleted the signature but cannot delete the certificate to set it up again.
    Mac OS X (Operating System)
So I am unable to delete the digital signature in Acrobat Xi pro.
I did the following: Adobe | Preferences | Signatures | Creation and Appearance Preferences and deleted the signature. But Adobe | Preferences | Signatures | Digittal ID and Trusted Certificate Settings, does not want to delete.
    Tank you.

It's not clear to me what you're trying to accomplish. If you get rid of your digital ID you will still be prompted to create/add one when you need to sign a form, which you say you still need to do? Do you really just want to e-sign (hand-drawn signature, or stamp) instead of digitally sign? Do the forms you're using have digital signature fields?

  • Problems emailing from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.2

I am using Acrobat on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Office 2007. PC is brand new with Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz with 2Gb RAM.
I create a Word document and select Adobe Create and attach to email. New mail message appears with PDF attachment, select recipient and click send. Hourglass appears for about 30 seconds during which time I cannot get into Outlook,Word or Acrobat. Interestingly, when hovering over the Word icon on the task bar there is an Adobe window open in the background which says "updating tags". Eventually it all clears away and the email is sent but the new message remains on the desktop and has to be closed manually.
Very strange behaviour and any help in finding a solution would be very much appreciated.

Any help on this one would be much appreciated.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.5.0 will not print SRA3 size paper

I created an Adobe InDesign file 320x450mm (SRA3) and saved it as a a High Quality PDF. However, when I print from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 with SRA3 paper size settings, it defaults to A4 and the printer will not register the SRA3 paper size request. The tech from Canon updated the printer driver which increased print dialog options such as Paper Handling, Paper Source etc. (which I didn't have before) and spent over an hour running tests. We both agreed there was a software issue since there were not issues from other software:
I can print SRA3 files from InDesign and Microsoft Word, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro.
This is an ongoing problem since I often receive artwork in PDF format at this size.
My workaround is to place the PDF into InDesign, line up the crops by eye and print to SRA3 paper which works fine until I need to do a double sided print which becomes slightly innacurate and often time consuming.
    Canon printer driver specs:
    V2.0
    iR-ADV C5045/5051 PS (UK)

What happens if you select other paper sizes? Also ensure that 'choose paper source by PDF page size' is not checked at your print dialog.
Kindly let us know your results and if possible please forward us your pdf at [email protected]
Looking forward to help you out.
    Thanks

  • I have Adobe Acrobat Pro v. 9.0.  I would like upgrade to v. 11

I'd like to upgrade from Adobe Acrobat Pro v. 9  to Acrobat Pro v. 11.  via uninstalling  v. 9.0 and installing v. 11.   The reason is that I'm having problems opening PDF files on my PC.

Acrobat XI Pro does not work as well as previous versions. For example, using "Combine Files into PDF" function, Acrobat will not work if one or more of your WORD docs has a text layer (such as in a WORD template to produce a letterhead).  The text layer will not print to PDF, although this function works fine in previous versions.  It will convert your WORD docs to PDF, but if any WORD doc has a text layer, it will not be converted.  It will show up as a blank space.  I have a letterhead text layer that has my work credentials.  It does not show up on the converted PDF, using the bundle (Combine Files into PDF) function.  Tech Supports workaround for this is to first create a PDF from the WORD page that has a text layer by first clicking on Acrobat, at the top of the monitor page, then clicking on Create PDF.  Save the PDF, which will have the printed text layer.  Then go to Combine Files into PDF and include that already created PDF page in the bundle.  That will work, but it's another step you have to go through to create your bundle, i.e., your work flow is interrupted by having to accomplish the workaround (documented in Adobe Case No. 0185444461).  Acrobat Pro 9 extended did not need this workaround - nor did previous versions.  Tech Supports comment was that Adobe changed a lot of things - in this case, not for the good.

  • When upgrading from Abobe Acrobat Pro 9 to XI, is it possible to save Headers and Footers in documents?

I support a law firm that users headers and footers in their documents.  They are upgrading from Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 to XI.  when they did an install on one PC, the headers and footers in a PDF did not show and had to be recreated.  Is there a way around that?  I's appreciate any input.
    Thanks!
    Ed

This is a work around. Bring the pdf into Illustrator. Go to Select >Object>Text.  In the attributes panel, deselect Overprint. In the Transparency panel, select Knockout Group. In the Appearance panel, check to make sure the black is not overprinting by clicking on the Character entry. If not, try clicking "Clear Appearance" (here I got a little lost.
Resave the pdf file. Your black text should now knock out. You may have to retrap, unless your RIP does that for you.
Hope this helps. (I had to keep trying to get it to work, but I finally did.
