EMET 5.1 was released today. On the EMET connect portal there isn't a announcement (yet) about the changes. A short list of changes can be found at

I have a problem installing EMET 5.1. I get a message that the istaller is interupted. EMET 4.1 no problem.
After Windows updates today IE 11 did not work anymore and I got a message from EMET.
Deinstalling and IE worked again. Now I can only install 4.1
Did you execute the installer with "Run as administrator"? This issue was reported before. See also

Folks, I don't think I have ever been so disappointed with anything in my life. After having so much trouble with my 3g and the 3.x firmware, I had high hopes that the 3gs would be a dream.
Even though the phone has many pluses over it's older sibling, it loses the wifi challange BIG time. Wifi on this phone is completely useless.
I don't know what to do now. I've never had a company and it's product bring me to tears, but long standing affair I've had with Apple has been most unpleasant. This phone and it's wifi issue is all over google. I had a level two tech from Apple tell me that there are no known issues with the wifi on this phone. I wish he could have stood before me and told me that to my face. What a crock.
I really hope they are working on a fix for this and not burrying thier head in the sand, just hoping we will all go away somehow.
I've had it. This issue is as real as the earth we stand on, everybody knows it, and he had the nerve to insulty intelligence like that. If anybody has any advise for at least a temporary fix....

Well, it must be the phone. I took it for a ride today and did some speed test at several different locations and had the exact same results. My 3g phone has zero issues with my wifi, so the only conclusion I can draw is either I have a bad phone, or you guys are not being forthcoming. At this point, I don't know what to believe. I called Apple tech support on Saturday and got mixed stories. One person told me that it was a known issue, and went on to say that the engineers are looking into it, while another person told me just the opposite. If I get a second phone that does the same thing, my conclusion will become over simplified, and I will not be a happy camper.

MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-875S - Anyone know which media are compatible with this

I bought the Matshita DVD-RAM US-875S from the PowerBook Guy and installed it in my G4 Pismo. I have corresponded with their support--who reply, but without actually answering. On PowerBook Guy's site, the thing is described as a Superdrive DL DVD-R-RW burner/player. I know this is a very basic question but I need to know if that means it will burn and play ONLY DVD-R and -RW whether DL or regular. I've asked them and they just say "It supports several different media. Ask on the Matsushita site."
Okay, there is probably some Matsushita site with that info, but I can't find it. I've gone through four pages of Google searches and haven't found a Mats site that has it. Panasonic Customer Support--or Parts--doesn't find it after a search.
System Profiler says it will write -R, -RAM, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL. That's great if it does, because +R DLs are much easier to find than -R DLs. But why would PB Guy call it a -R-RW burner/player instead of telling you all the capabilities?
I found one site (CDfreaks.com) that says write speed as follows:
DVD-R 8 x
DVD-RW 6 x
DVD-R DL 4 x
DVD+R 8 x
DVD+RW 8 x
DVD+R DL 4 x
DVD-RAM 5 x
Note that it give DVD-R DL, which System Profiler does not. And DVD+R DL which PowerBook Guy does not. Does anyone know what the capabilities of this drive are, or where I can find a definitive answer? Thanks for any help you can give. Giles

Okay, for anyone who's interested, here's what I found on a British site called TheBookyard.com.
The Matshita (or Panasonic) UJ-875 slimline (I assume that's what the S means) is a replacement drive for the discontinued UJ-85J, the only difference in the specs being that the newer drive is slightly faster on the DL writing:
Specifications
Interface: IDE/ATAPI, Ultra DMA Mode4
Buffer: Memory 2 MB
Loading: Method Slot loading
Dimensions: 5.07” x 5.03” x 0.5”
Read Speeds: DVD-ROM 8X, CD-ROM 24X
Write Speeds:DVD-RAM 5x, DVD±R 8X (SL) 6X (DL), DVD-RW 6X, DVD+RW 8X, CD-R 24X, CD-RW 24X
So if it really does all this (haven't had time to test different media) I'm happy. My only question now (except re the error message in a separate post) is: Why does PowerBook Guy call it a DVD-R,-RW?

Find which tables are linked to this one via foreign keys

Hi, I need to drop & recreate a table, but this table is referenced by other tables via foreign key constraints.
1. Is there a query I can run to find those tables (the ones referencing this one) ?
2. What is the standard way to drop & recreate this table being referenced by others?

1) You can try the following query:
select r.owner, r.table_name
from user_constraints r, user_constraints o
where r.r_owner = o.owner and r.r_constraint_name = o.constraint_name
and o.constraint_type in ('P','U') and r.constraint_type = 'R'
and o.table_name = 'DEPT'
2) To drop tables with references you can also use drop table cascade constraints,
which will also drop constraints from tables:

ORA-02449: unique/primary keys in table referenced by foreign keys
[email protected]> drop table dept cascade constraints;
Table dropped.
Another way is to prepare a script which will remove the tables in proper order.

Which emails are returned in a POP3 session

Hi,
I want to implement a POP3 email client to download messages from exchange server (using C#.Net).
After a POP3 connection is made, STAT command tells the count of messages available. Messages can be downloaded in that session using the sequence numbers. I want to know how POP3 service determines which messages are NEW for which client.
Suppose two clients (one mobile and one desktop application) connect to POP3 server. Mobile client downloads some messages. Now when desktop client connects to POP3 server, how will POP3 server determine which messages are new for this session (it should
also return the messages which were downloaded by mobile client).
I looked a lot in documentation, but didn't found anything in this regard. Please help.

Hello,
To get the number of the Record from the begining of the file, you may use the RECNUM parameter in the External Table definition:

You define a Column:
<column_name> RECNUMThen, in your Query, you may use the ORDER operator to this column.
By that way, you ensure to always respect the Record order in the file.

VDA in VDI - which licences are required?

hi.. please tell me which licences are required for this scenario:
1) there are 3 hosts with Windows Server Data Center 2012
2) there are 250 zero clients (without Windows)
I would like to virtualize these zero clients.
I know that I need licenses as below:
1) 3 x Windows Server Data Center 2012
2) 250 x subscription VDA
3) 250 x subscription VDI Suite without MDOP
Do I need Windows Server CAL or Remote Desktop Services CAL?

I have contacted with Microsoft - they told me that I need only Win svr + VDA + VDI
I heve contacted also with Microsoft Partner - they didn't know, but they contacted with Microsoft and they received information that I need Win Svr + VDA + VDI + CAL WIN + RDS CAL

How to find which devices are still using affected domain controller

We have a 5 Domain controller's in a Site. And we are going to decommisson one of our affected DC in a site.
Can you please let me know how to find the log files to see which devices are still using this domain controller.

Neel,
From strictly an Active Directory perspective, there is nothing special you need to do to decommission a domain controller in a site. There are many processes that automatically balance out and recreate connections as needed without any user intervention.
The DC Locator process will automatically direct clients to active domain controllers, there is nothing you need to do here.
What you need to be concerned with are things like the following:
DNS - Are you running AD integrated DNS and is the DC you are decommissioning hosting that roll - if so, is it the ONLY DC in the
site that is running DNS? You'll need at least one in the site.
DHCP server - Is the DC you are demoting a DHCP server? You'll need to account for that.
Global Catalog - Is the DC you are demoting a Global Catalog server? You'll need at least one in the site.
File Shares - Is the DC hosting any files shares? You'll need to move those and make sure you redirect your clients.
Was this DC a set as a Preferred Bridgehead Server? You'll need to undo that first.
Those are the big ones that come to mind. Decommissioning a DC is easy if you have prepared properly. The others that have replied have offered some great advice which you should follow. Do your homework and you should be fine.

How to figure out which tables are using Extensible Optimizer?

Hi guys,
I'm sure that there're several tables those are associated with Extensible Optimizer in my database, I can also find the Extensible Optimizer relevant type and the implementation of interface functions ODCIGetInterfaces, ODCIStatsTableFunction.
I'm curious to know is there a way to figure out which tables are associated with this Extensible Optimizer, does anyone have any clues?

ENVY 7640 error "There is a problem with this printer"

Hi guys. I got this printer 4 months ago and it has been working marvelous. But this weekend when I turned it on the error "There is a problem with this printer" appeared, just after it connected to my wifi network.I made several tests and the error comes only if the network is connected to the internet.When it is not connected to the internet the printer works fine (prints, scans, all via wifi).I have a MAC and an AirPort Time Capsule.Is there any set up that solves the problem?

I would like to help.
I am wondering, is your phone line analog or digital?
If your phone is analog it will go direct to a wall jack.
If your phone is digital it will go to a modem.
I am asking because fax is a analog technology that sometimes does not work well with the new digital phonelines.

Printer setup using english envy 7640

I have a new HP Envy 7640 printer. During setup I selected English as preferred language on small printer screen. Somehow that screen has changed to a foreign language--very confusing. Cannot find where to make a change back to English.

Change the language setting on the printer control panel
The control panel displays text in the wrong language.
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup (). TheSetup menu displays.
Touch Preferences, which is the first option that displays on the control panel. ThePreferences menu opens.
Touch Language, which is the third option that displays on the control panel. The Languagemenu displays.
Touch your desired language. The Preferences menu opens in the new language

Envy 7640 and Windows 8.1 - Unable to print

I've set up my Envy 7640 so that it is connected via Ethernet cable to my wireless router. Windows 7 devices can print fine to this printer. The only way I can print a document is by sending the document to the printer via my HP ePrint e-mail address. But I don't want to print that way because it is many more steps than printing directly, and because my output is slightly shrunken because of the PDF printing process I have to go through before I can send the e-mail. I cannot print directly from my Windows 8.1 64-bit device. Sometimes I get a message saying the device is disabled, sometimes nothing happens at all. I have four ENVY printers shown in my "Devices and Printers" folder (even though I have one physical device), none of which work:- HP ENVY 7640 series (Direct)- HP ENVY 7640 series (Network)- HP2CFC7A (HP ENVY 7640 series)- HP ePrint. When I try using this printer, I get a message saying "unable to communicate with printer". I went through HP's online troubleshooting guides for this problem, and nothing has helped yet. I have done the following:- Unplugged the printer and replugged it in, but I still can't print- Restarted the computer, which caused the print queue to empty out, but I still can't print- Ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which told me that there was "unsuccessful communicating" with all four of the printers.- I tried opening the EWS by entering the printer's IP address (192.168.1.80) in my browser, and was successful. I was even able to print out a test page from the EWS.- I checked the ports on each printer. It is the correct TCP/IP port for the HP ENVY 7640 series (Direct) printer. I get an error ("Printer Properties cannot be displayed") when trying to view the port for the HP ENVY 7640 series (Network) printer. The port for the HP2CF7A printer is WSD-f6de40d1-ae7a-403f-8b13-38027e351af.0038. The port for the HP ePrint printer is 192.168.1.80- Removed and re-installed the print driver software multiple times. Any ideas? I am extremely frustrated.

Hi, You've got one more than me (HP ePrint, I did not istall it but I also have Fax -) This is my loan printer and my setup is wireless (becouse my access point is in a diferent room), I only use it for testing: I can ptint from phones (Android phones, iPhone, Windows phones), tablets (iPad, Samung Galaxy, HP 7) and over a dozen of laptops (Lenovo, HP, Dell, Asus) running Windows 7, 8.1 (I hate 8) and 10 Preview. I can use ePrint, print direct, print thru my home network and the setup took only around 10 mins for the first computer (which is my loan HP Envy 17). My suggetion: Re-intall it and select wireless to see any improvement. Regards.

I would like to help you print from Word on your Mac. Because you can print from other programs, I trust the issue is not actually related to the HP Printer. Damaged documents or documents that contain damaged graphics or damaged fonts can cause print errors. Before you reinstall drivers or software, test the program's ability to print.
1. Open a new blank document in Word.
2. On the first line of the document, type the following text: =rand(10)
3. Press ENTER. This inserts 10 paragraphs of sample text.
4. Try to print the document.
5. If the document prints successfully, change to a different font, or insert clip art, a table, or a drawing object. How to troubleshoot print failures in Word for Mac, Excel for Mac or Powerpoint for Mac.
If the issue persists, I suggest you contact Microsoft, or reach out to the Microsoft Community.

Envy 7640 only prints in black and white

New ENVY 7640 all-in-one is only printing in black and white. Test page prints in full color. When clicking on a file to print, the image turns to black and white even before printing.
Have removed Airprint.

Hi,
Click the Apple icon and select Software Update. Clcik teh top Store menu and select Reload This Page.
If there is any HP update be sure to install it.
Next open Printers & Scanners, remove the printer and click the plus sign to re-add it.
If the same persists, please have a look what is listed within the Use drop down menu while adding the printer.
As well be sure to confirm you OS version by clicking the Apple icon and then About This Mac.. what is the exact listed version number?
