Printer hp office jet 6600

Ink system failure. Missing or failed print head. I put new ink cartridges and this message came up. Print head does not have a latch. Already took cartridges out cleaned gold square in corner, turned on and off. Put old ones back in and nothing. The same message. Frustrated. Can you help get this to work without me buying new printer?

Hello Monte8,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand your concerns with your Officejet 6600. I will try my best to help you remove this error message:
Please follow this HP document on An 'Ink System Failure' Error Message Displays on the Printer or on the Computer and 'Missing or Failed Printhead'.
Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. This will test out the power and to verify if you are receiving the same error message.
If you are receiving the same message, then please contact HP technical support for further assistance. Click here to find out: HP Worldwide Contact.
Good luck.

I would make sure printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet. I would also make sure that printer had latest firmware update.

  • My iPad will not print to my wireless hp office jet 6600 anymore

MY iPad will no longer print to my wireless hp office jet 6600 printer

    Hi Everyone,
Don't spend too much time trying to figure this out.  Apple has total control of what apple products can do.  Since the upgrade to IOS my 6600 HP printer no longer is recognized by my Ipad.  Just to add insult to injury my Iphone's wifi is now greyed out and I can no longer use wifi.
I didn't see this coming but think about how apple can force you to upgrade to other products by simply limiting a device's capability through an operating system upgrade.
I made an appointment with an Apple genius today and they said "Sorry this is a hardware issue (Iphone) and you will need to upgrade."  Of course I will, a $700 phone or Ipad should only last a couple of years... right?
I am not upset but I will be more critical in my future purchases of Apple products.

Hello rcblv. In order to assist you, I need to determine if the issue is hardware or software related. I want you to make a photocopy and perform a printer status report. I've included a link to the manual of this printer in case you need it. Let me know as soon as possible what the results are. I'm only here to help!

  • I have a Office Jet 6600 and cannot get it to print. I have power to the monitor.

I have an HP Office Jet 6600 and it stopped printing. I use HP ink 932xl and 933xl. The message on my  computer is: Missing or failed print head. The print head appears to be missing, incorrectly installed or incompatible. The monotor states: There is a problem with the printer or the ink system. Turn the printer off, than on. If the problem persis contact HP. So please tell how I can get my printer to work. This problem start about 3 weeks ago but I was out of the country  for 12 days. I rebooted the desk top and ended up with 1 print job but than this famous message became trapped in my computer.

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2127c Desktop Computer. Based on the specs, your computer has one DVI-D (digital) out and one VGA (analog) out. No adapter is going to change the DVI-D to VGA.
    (#1) - DVI-D (digital out only)     (#2) - VGA (analog out only)
Using a VGA analog "dual tail adapter" won't work either. With both monitors connected to the VGA port, your computer won't be able to identify the correct monitor settings because of communications conflicts between the devices. This setup will only work with one DVI-D monitor and one VGA monitor.

Today when I went to make some copies, the printer read "Error: There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn th printer off, then on. If problem persists. Contact HP" I have done this numerous times. Nothing, I contacted HP and all the help/advice that they could give was try cleaning out the ink cartridges. I also did this, but that did nothing.  So I am left with problem. has this happened to anyone? Anyone have any suggestions?

  • HP Office Jet 6600, cost of 933 HP ink cartridges same for regular and xl?

    Hi,
The XL cartridges are physically same size with the normal cartridges, only THE volumes of ink inside are not the same. Normally the volume of ink inside a XLcartridge is more than double the volume of ink inside a normal cartridge.
Hope this helps. Note: they must be physcally same size otherwise they won't fit.

    Hi helenhunt,
I would like to help you with this.
I have located a document I believe will be helpful. Although the title is 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print, the solutions will help resolve the symptoms you are experiencing.
Solution 1 in this document suggests using the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This is a great place to start because
the Print and Scan Doctor diagnoses and helps resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity problems, including:
    Connectivity :
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test : Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues : Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings : Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print : Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests : Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require additional assistance, thanks.

  • How can iSync my iPad to my hp office jet 6600 so I can print from my iPad

I am trying to sync my iPad with my hp office jet printer 6600

    Hi,
You can't iSync your iPad to your printer, full stop. If you wish to print from your iPad you need to connect them (iPad and printer) on a SAME network. And because your printer is not on the following list:
        http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
    The following app MAY work:
        http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/hp-eprint/id299531647?mt=8

  • I am trying to scan from my hp office jet 6600 to my chrome book. How do I find the app?

I am not able to scan anything to my computer.  The printer is an officejet 6600.  I have a chromebook.   Is there an app that I can download to my computer?

    Hi,
There is no scanning software available for ChromeOS, however you can still get basic scan functionalit through the network via the WebScan interface.
Click the network ip on the printer and locate its IP address.
Type this IP into your web browser to access the EWS page.
Click on Webscan and scan using the web interface.
If Webscan is disabled, click on Settings > Adminiostrator settings and enable Webscan.
Go back to the Webscan tab which should be available from now on.
Another alternative is the HP Scan to Email app, available from the HP ePrint Center (Print Apps) or the HP Connected site (Printables) by searching for Scan to Email.

  • Removing ink cartridge from HP office jet 6600 printer

I replaced all four ink cartridges in my HP Officejet 6600 printer (almost new) and now I can't get the black cartridge out.  The original cartrige was a 932 and I replaced it with a 932XL so it is larger than the original one.  It seems to be jammed in the machine.
Has anyone else had that problem?
I don't like this printer at all.  It doesn't seem to stay connected (it's a wireless) and prints terrible colored pictures.

    Hi janius,
I am sorry to hear that you have had such difficulty with this printer. I suggest contacting phone support. Hp printers come with a 1 year manufacture warranty, and from the sounds of it you have had the printer for a short period of time. Even if the printer is out of warranty, it is still worth calling as HP will have in and out of warranty options.
The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
