Printer installs, but doesn't show in programs

This has really caused me some stress. I used this printer when I first got it and my computer for school. It worked great. Then I was out for summer and went back to school and it never would show up as a printer again. I have removed the device and reinstalled it. Everything seems to install just fine when plugged in. Here you can see that is is showing just fine in my devices and printers. However, I cannot set it as the default.
When I go into Word (or any program that can print like Acrobat Reader) You can see that here it does not show up:
I have plugged it into a different computer and it installed and printed.

Try following these steps and check if that may help:
Step one: create a restore point
These steps involve registry modifications, therefore be sure to create a restore point for any issues.
From the Start menu type Create into the search bar and click on 'Create a Restore point'.
Click on Create, select a unique name and create a restore point
Step two: Assign full permissions t the user and modify the default printer value.
1. Type regedit into the search bar and open the Registry Editor.
2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > WindowsNT > CurrentVersion.
3. From the left pane, right click the Windows subfolder and select Permissions.
4. Click the Add button, type your windows user account name and click on Check, then press OK and select Full Permissions for the user.
5. Click on add and type everyone, click on Check and press OK, select Full Permissions for Everyone as well.
6. From the left pane, click the Windows sub folder (under CurrentVersion).
7. From the right pane, Right click on Device within the name column and select Modify.
8. Delete any current value and type the following value instead (including the ending colon):
winspool,Ne00:
9. Reboot your PC and try setting the printer as default, then try printing from Word again.

You can try reinstalling the printer using the latest drivers from the Canon USA website to get the printer to show up in the Quick Menu. Prior to reinstalling, please close the Quick Menu and restart your Mac. Once your Mac is restarted, please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MX922. Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:
1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "RECOMMENDED FOR YOU" section and click the CUPS drivers file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once you have downloaded the CUPS drivers file, please follow the steps above to also download all other items from RECOMMENDED FOR YOU and DRIVERS sections. If you plan on using the printer wirelessly, you will also want to download the Canon IJ Network Tool from the SOFTWARE section.
Once all items are downloaded, please double-click on each of the items to install them on your Mac. Please ensure that the IJ Network Tool is the last item installed. Once all items have been reinstalled, please open the Quick Menu.

SSI shows up correctly in DW but doesn't show up in browser.

I am trying to update the company website here at work using Dreamweaver 4 and the copyright information at the bottom of the page is in an ssi file. The file shows up fine in Dreamweaver but doesn't show up at all in either of my browers (Safari/Firefox). What am I doing wrong?

SSIs are parsed by the server. You're probably not doing anything wrong, you simply need to upload the files to your remote server and look at the pages on-line.
If you want to preview local files, you'll need to install a local testing server on your machine. Get one of the following servers for your OS and follow the installation instructions.

You probably don't need it, but the Tiger "iSight Updater" is located in the \System\Library\CoreServices\iSight Updaters\iSight Updater folder.
(You must look manually because SpotLight does not find it.)
Double click the "iSight Updater" there to run the Firmware update manually.

iSight "Product Revision Level" in your Mac's System Profiler shows the installed firmware version for external (Firewire) iSight.
Firmware 1.0.3 Update offers only "Improved audio performance". It does NOT enable audio or any other function, so that is NOT your problem with Skype or YMM. Search or post in their dedicated help/discussions for best and quickest help with those specific, non-Apple apps.
Regardless of whether System Profiler utility shows Firewire iSight's Firmware (Product) level of 1.0.2 or 1.0.3, external iSight ought to work. You can test your external iSight using the suggestions on this linked page:

I have recently had my iphone 5 not show who is calling on call waiting. The phone beeps but doesn't show the number / per son that is calling, won't let me click over and won't show who it was in my call history. Help very annoying.

1st go into your settings then tap phone to see if call waiting is turned on or off. If call waiting isOFF turn it ON. You can use also Apple article HT 4515. I would contact my wireless carrier reguarding the caller id not showing up and also with help reguarding your call waiting as well

I have no idea what may have caused your MacBook to stop working, but from your description it kind of sounds like it may have started before you ran Software Update and installed the new Apps. Just the general slow feeling and bugginess is what tips me off. You said that you weren't sure if you had closed all open windows, that doesn't matter if the computer restarts itself. It automatically closes all other open applications when restarting.
As to your data being retrievable, if when you take it in they do a fresh install of the OS, then no, it will not be unless you want to pay several thousand dollars to a software retrieval company.
I am glad to hear that you have taken into the Apple Store to get it fixed, and that you have all of your purchased music backed up to your iPod. You should be able to just transfer it all back to iTunes once you get your computer back should it be necessary.
As a side note, the proper place for this topic would probably in the MacBook forums, not iTunes since there is no evidence that iTunes started the issue.

You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Though it discusses Mountain Lion, you need to follow the exact same steps for OS X 10.7.5.
I no longer have any original AEBSs to test. You may need an even earlier version of AirPort Utility. If AirPort Utility 5.6 cannot configure yours, let me know and I will attempt to find the correct version for you. You will need to use the same "extraction" technique described above.
Edit: If 5.6 does not work try this one: AirPort Utility 5.5.3
Important: If you elect to drag that version to your Utilities folder, be sure to give it a unique name. I suggest "AirPort Utility 5.5.3" This is not necessary for AirPort Utility 5.6, which will retain that name on its own.

My iPhone 4S is picked up by both itunes and iphoto but doesn't show up in Finder and I can't get it to sync with iCal. Any ideas? I've had trouble in the past with cameras and other devices not showing up in Finder and I don't know what is wrong! I have a Mac OS X 10.5.8 which is quite old but this is its main problem...

The sync is 2 way. If you created items in the calendar on the phone, however, BEFORE you set up the sync relationship, those items are stored in the calendar on the phone only.
Go into the calendar and tap the "Calendars" button in the upper left. You will see lists of all the calendars. On my iPhone are those that live exclusively on the phone. You will also see From My Mac (or something similar) as well as any that are synced with Exchange accounts, iCloud, etc.
Now go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Scroll down to Calendars and make sure the Default Calendar is set to the correct calendar. I don't believe there is any easy way to move all your entries from the local calendar to the one that syncs with iCal, but you can go into each entry and specify which calendar it belongs to.
