Printer is at error state W 8.0

Oh my god, i recalled what happened, i was unable to post in the previous post so there was no follow up, made this one today and deleted the contents due to me thinking that the old one was still active. Well, again, the long story.
some xp computers are installed to an hp laserjet 4100, the only that doesnt work is the one with w 8
Had all kind of troubles since that pc arrived.
ill try the short story. printer connected to xxx.xxx.xxx.200
1.- driver from hp (self instaler) wont find a printer in the network. (latest drivers apparently) even if i point to ut. simply wont install.
2.-cpl-->printers-->add network printer---> pl5/pl6/w update drivers (x64 in case you wonter) say that there is no communication with the printer. It wont install
3.-connect to \\xxx.xxx.xxx.200\shared printer (previous driver update in sharing center to the x64 needed) No communication.
4.-cpl-->printer-->add new LOCAL?!!! printer---> use protocol LPTx. After the wizard finished. CMD as Admin--> net use lptx: \\printerpath\printername /persistent:yes     --->Bingo, at least at the beggining.
Then, few days later, when we tried to print an excel sheet, at least just part of it ("print selected area" in pre-print menu). It printed an error message (dont remember which, but the error was that i had to update drivers). Since i had the "latest drivers" installer would not install for same reason, but this is where it stopped printing due to the "printer is at error stage" it said.
did not work until i deleted and re did step 4 (lpt2 this time, with net use/delete command before any changes)
so i reinstalled the printer with the "updated driver" which was the same it had anyways, and surprisingly, it worked (for a week or less) then it came back to the same "printer@error@State"
Could not reinstall the printer from here to date. Tried many combinations.
Hp doctor said my printer was fine. (The other printer i have in that pc), the one i want was not detected.
I did update windows/drivers (though still says win 8 instead of 8.1, but it says that there are no updates available.
Have no more ideas about this. 3 things i cannot do. Roll back to a previous windows. Reinstall windows. change the printer.

  • Printer offline and error state

Just moved and installed printer HP 4200C series to my laptop with Window 8.  Got the successful window.  The printer shows offline (no drop down menu to chose online) and if I try to print, it says the printer is in a state or error.  Tried suggestions from forum but no go.

    Hello kokua,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you are having some errors when trying to print, such as "Offline" and "Printer is in error state". I am at a little bit of a loss as to what printer you are using however, the 4200c is a Scanjet. Can you take a second look on the printer for its model number?
In the mean time, run the Print and Scan Dr on the computer, let me know what passes, fails, is fixed, etc.

We have two computers wirelessly connected to my hp 8600. The Mac prints fine, but recently I started receiving error messages when I try to print from my desktop PC: "Printer in an error state"  I have tried unplugging from the wall, turning on and off, rebooting, so far nothing helping.

  • Printer error state

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that your HP Deskjet 3050 cannot print due to an error state. I am happy to look into this for you! Some questions for you: What is the Operating System you are using Windows or Mac? What version? “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”Are you able to make copies with the printer? Copying Documents.Do you see any error messages on the printer's display panel, or blinking lights? Once I know more information, I will do some research for you! Hope to hear from you soon!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

I have a HP Deskjet 3050 plugged in my usb. i can not print it keeps saying the printer is in error state. this is very aggrevating i dont use my printer often and for it to not work for not reason when i do upsets me. i have already restarted the printer spool also.

  • HP Laserjet 6L is error state in Windows 8.1

    Hi everyone,
I need your help on this one.
I bought a new PC (Dell Inspiron 3000) which has Windows 8.1
I installed my HP Hewlett Packard Laserjet 6L using Windows printer install (Windows update button to find the right printer).
The printer is in error state. For some reason, I was able to print the test page, but any other file is in queue and itès not printed.
Thank you so much for your help!

Many thanks for your reply.  I did try all of your suggested solutions and I am afraid none woked for more than an hour or two and then I had the error printing message back again. I suspect it may be a problem with by BT Router and despite hours of calls with them, we have got no further, but they have  despatched a new router to see if that might be the cause. When printing works (sometimes it doesn't for days - until today i had been nearly a week without any printing and last night I went out and bout a PC to HP pronter cable in desperation.  That does work Ok, but is a temporary work around as it cannot be used by more than one PC at a time.  Today, with the BT engineer on the phone, we tried everything we could think of, including static IP addressing, and nothing would work. After we finished, I deleted the printer from the network and re-installed it again and both cabled and wireless connection to the router started working again. However, this has happened sometimes before and then stops again later. I have deleted and re-installed HP drivers so many times over the last 8 weeks, I have lost track of the number of times, changed router configurations, but the same problem either re-occurs or doen't work at all. The HP Printer can see the Router name and its IP Address, even when the Error Printing message appears on my laptop, but when that occuts, the PC cannot see the HP Printer via the Router.  This is why I have been thinking the Router might be causing the fault. If you have any thoughts on this, I would be most grateful for any advice,  But at the moment, my hopes are that a new Router, which is due to arrive next Monday or Tuesday, may help !!!! Thanks again. Colin Faragher

  • Pixma MG 3150 'error state'

Just purchased new HP Pavilion computer.  Used Microsoft Updates to install printer - no problem (I thought!).  Every thing looks fine until you actually get to 'print', when error message comes up 'Printer is in error state'.  Have closed it all down, reset the wireless function on the printer, wireless button is lit, printer is 'ticked' on devices screen, and printer works ok when scanning.  Where do I go frm here, please?  After a couple of days trying, frustration is creeping in!

    Hi manavarro83,
To try and resolve the issue, we will want to ensure that the printer has proper wireless communication occurring.  For proper wireless communication to occur, it is important that network devices are suitably located. Please ensure the following:
    1. The printer and the access point are located within the wireless connectivity range with no obstacles between them.
    2. The distance between the printer and the access point is not too far. If they are too far apart, please move them closer together.
    3. There is no barrier or obstacle between the printer and the access point. In general, connection performance decreases for communications through walls or between different floors. Adjust the locations to avoid such situations.
    4. There are no sources of radio interference near the printer and the access point. The wireless connection may use the same frequency band as microwave ovens, wireless phones and other sources of radio interference. Try to keep the printer and the access point away from such sources.
    5. Check if the radio channel of the access point is close to that of other access points nearby. If the radio channel of the access point is close to that of other access points nearby, the connection performance may become unstable. Be sure to use a radio channel that does not interfere with other access points.
    6. The printer and the access point face each other. Connection performance may depend on the orientations of the wireless devices.
Once these items have been verified, if you still experience difficulty, please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.

  • "printer is in an error state"

Everytime I try to print it says "printer is in an error state" on a pop up on my computer.  Tried connecting via USB and it still won't work.

    Hello,
Please try the below mentioned steps that should resolve the issue.
    Power Off the Computer.
While the printer is ON, remove the ink cartridges and the papers
While the printer is ON, unplug the power cord from back of the printer and also unplug any other cable from the back of the printer ( like USB/Ethernet/Fax cables)
    Wait for 60 seconds.
Plug in the power cord to the printer. If printer does not power on automatically then hit the ON button.
    Install the cartridges when prompted.
When the printer is steady only then connect the USB cable.

  • "Printer is in an error state" and I can't fix it! Pixma mx310

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  I've run Windows online troubleshooting.  I've downloaded new drivers.  I've restarted the computer, the printer, and everything I can turn on and off.  I've tried different USB ports.  I've listed the printer as the default.  Nada.  "Printer is not responding" is the status report.  If I delete the document in the queue, it tells me that the status report is printing, then that it can't print, then it deletes itself, then it cycles over again with the status report in the queue, etc.  If anyone at canon or anyplace else can help me, I'd be very grateful.  Otherwise, this baby goes out the window and I find a different company to get a printer from.   Argh!

    Hi seecee,
You mentioned that the printer has an error, what is the exact error that appears on the LCD screen of your printer?

One of my standard answers (which will explain the use of Directory Objects)...
The UTL_FILE_DIR parameter has been deprecated by oracle in favour of direcory objects because of it's security problems.
The correct thing to do is to create a directory object e.g.:
CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. You have to do that yourself and ensure that oracle has permission to read/write to that file system directory.
Then, grant permission to the users who require access e.g....
GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser; Then use that directory object inside your FOPEN statement e.g.
fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');Note: You MUST specify the directory object name in quotes and in UPPER case for this to work as it is a string that is referring to a database object name which will have been stored in uppercase by default.

  • Printing queries in prepared statement

I have a created a prepared statement. When I execute the query I get an error stating that the SQL isn't correct. I would therefore like to print out the statement so I can see what it looks like. Here is what my code is doing.
Create a query string with question marks.
Hand that string off to the preparedStatement constructor.
Modify that string using setString() One for every question mark.
Send the query off by calling executeQuery()
All I want to do is print out what the statement now looks like after the setStrings() are called.
    Thanks,
    -KAP

That's not a featured guaranteed by the JDBC specification, and because of the way PreparedStatement really works, it can't be.
You see, PreparedStatement usually does not do string replacement into your SQL; the SQL passed to the database still has the ?s in it and the values are bound later, in the database, to a compiled object that is no longer text.
A few drivers will give you back the SQL statement if you apply toString() on the PreparedStatement, and maybe even given you the current values of the bind variables, but most won't.
In fact, normally when you get have invalid SQL with a PreparedStatement, the SQLException is thrown on the prepareStatement method, before the set methods are called; if they're not, then you're probably trying to do an invalid implicit data type conversion. In other words, at least some of the columns in your database are not of character type, and the database is trying to convert your strings to the other type (using its rules, which may be different from Java's rules and may be different from another database's rules), and failing.

  • NP101945C HP laserjet M251nw is in an error state.

When I try to print a document my computer informs me that my printer is "off line."  (Yes the printer has been turned on.) I
downloaded the HP diagnostic ap and ran it. The result was this message "NP101945C (HP LaserJet 200 color M251nw) is
in error state." No further explanation from the diagnostic ap. No help from the HP search engine. Any help would be
appreciated. My partner thinks I should throw the 8 month old HP in the trash and go out and buy a new printer because
our business is suffering without a functioning printer. (No, I wouldn't buy an HP again.)

    Hi @LuckyDuck1948,
I would like to be able to help you, but I will need some more information.
If there is any lights flashing on the printer, the printer will show offline.
Is the printer in a ready state?
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
    Printing a Configuration Report.
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • HP4501e "print spooler off" error after installing printer update

Motorola Android OS, getting "print spooler off" error after installing printer update... have rebooted both printer and phone to no avail... any help ideas?

    Loralee,
??  I am sorry the computer is not working.  I don't work for HP and cannot comment on lawsuits or other calamities.
If the notebook worked prior to an update -- and this is an entirely different can of worms and problems -- and you think that there is any chance the notebook is just in some sort of "tangled" state and not completely hosed for some reason, you can try the following non-lethal device reset:
Create a Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR  Create a restore point Win8
If you are using a Notebook:
Close all your programs and shut down the computer
Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook model
Boot the computer and log in
Reminder:  Hard Reset is just a device Reset.  The procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way.  This type of reset "clears the cobwebs". Depending on the root cause of the problem, this procedure can fix a variety of computer glitches.
This does not fix severe Operating System errors -- it is just a device reset.  It can fix minor problems that updates sometimes cause.
