Printer : Laserjet 1606dn

Lately when printing this annoying dialog box "Manually Feed Media" appears even when I "Auto Select" in the Paper/Quality tab under Preferences. I do not recall making any chages that would cause the dialog box to appear. It is annyoing to have to press the Arrow key on the printer to print.

Check your tray (paper source) setting, may be you selected the feed slot instead of the tray, so it's waiting for you to feed the paper. The tray (paper source) is a different setting than the paper type/print quality settings.

Hi all,
I have new HP Laserjet 1606dn. When I setup for USB printing, it can print fine. But when I setup this printer to be network printer, when I order to print 1 page, it always continue printing. I can';t stop printing. I have 5 printers for this model. When I setup another printers, it is still be the same. Anybody can give me the solution. Thank you very much.

I retried the installation from the driver after having cleaned previous installation and having unplugged the printer.

After that he retries to install the driver, but inside the previous install directory.

HP laserjet 1606dn

Our office has three of the hp laserjet 1606dn printers. I took my laptop and plugged in a different 1606dn than what I normally use. It won't print anything. Doesn't recognize the printer. Do I have to load each 1606dn in my laptop?

I see by your post that you have connected a different Laserjet P1606dn printer to your laptop and are unable to print.
I can help you with this.
When you connect the same printer to the computer, it will create another icon for the printer in your printer's window on the computer. It will show the Laserjet P1606dn and probably a Laserjet P1606dn copy 2. You would just select the proper printer that you are connected to. The printer software is already installed and it should automatically add the printer driver.
From the application, go to File, Print, highlight the correct printer, select print.
You can also go into the printer's window and set the new printer icon to the default printer that you are now connected to. Change your default printer.
If the issue persists, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Here is a document for checking the printer driver in the device manager to see if there is any conflicts and checking the connections. 'Device setup failed to complete' or 'Unknown device' Message Displays in Windows during USB Install... Disregard the title.
Is the connection you are using a USB cable?
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.

What Windows OS are you using? Are you networked?
If you are networked, you have to setup your file and print sharing options in order to require password assess. If you are just trying to control specific files from being printed, you can do that, too.
If you are just trying to control the amount of printing off of a single PC with a printer, you could setup different accounts for each user and limit their access.
Some of the commercial printers can have password options, but I do not find any password options for the CM 1410, other than what I provided earlier.
If I have been helpful, a Kudo is always appreciated.

I am looking to replace Laserjet 1320s that performed well 5 days a week for 6-8 years. I really like the specs of the 1606dn, but my bosses are concerned that this unit is not heavy duty enough for business use. Is there a business model with the 1606dn's speed and short time to print? The only negatives I can see from various posts is that there may have been some early manufacturing quality control issues from posts six months ago, the small 250 sheet paper tray, and the lack of quality graphics (not critical for our use).
The features I need are duplexing, networking is nice, and ability to print envelopes as this is used in accounts payables and receivables with many envelopes printed. I was impressed by the time to print and speed of this really bargain unit (currently $160 including shipping).
Is this unit heavy duty enough to handle day-to-day accounting tasks for an individual (not group requirements, the networking is nice for annual inventory printouts and reports from remote locations to a duplexed printer)?
Thanks for any input about the 1606dn or any other suggested current printers.

My printer (LaserJet CP1525na) was assigned to an old account. Can it be reset to a new one?

I have a LaserJet CP1525nw that was previously assigned to a different account for eprint. That information is lost to me now. How can I get the printer to be recognized by a new account so that I can continue to use the eprint feature?

That's fine if the printer was assigned to another account then the only thing that you will have to do is setup ePrint again. I am linking you to a video that walks you through process of setting up ePrint. I would skip to the 3:40 mark in the video. If ePrint is already enable on your printer disable it and then go back in and reenable ePrint this will make your printer print a new printer code so you can setup a new custom ePrint email address.

Can't print double-sided on my HP printer (laserjet CP2025)

I have owned an HP laptop and printer (color laserjet CP 2025) for about one year. When I purchased the printer it said that the printer was not compatible with Windows 7 - I did not know this before i purchased the printer. I had to reset my computer recently and now do not have the ability to print double-sided. The printer works but I cannot print double-sided unless I manually insert the pages. I had the ability to print double-sided before I reset the computer. HELP! this is the most frustrating experience and I am hesitant to purchase another HP product because OF THIS BAD EXPERIENCE. When under warranty I was able to contact HP and received information on how to get the printer to be fully functional, I can't do that now. Does anyone know how to get this function working? Please help.

For the cp2025, if you have the duplex model (has d in the model name) then this document will help you re-set the printer when using the Unversial Print Driver. Make sure you read the document all the way through and pay sepecial attention to the notes as they explain the process in relation to this product. Please check it out...

Connect HP Printer (Laserjet 500 color M551), to 2 wireless networks.

Hi everyone,
I am trying to connect the formentioned printer(*) to 2 wifi's we have in work. Let's say WNet1 & Wnet2.
So that everyone connected in those 2 Wireless Networks, can print.
(Details: the printer is already set up for WNet1, and is working fine. But half of us can't connect to WNet1, so we have WNet2 for that reason. The printer is "in range" for both WNetworks, that will not be an issue )

I see by your post that you are unable to scan, when running the Print and Scan Doctor, you got a error on the Twain.
I can help you with this.
I have provided some steps to setup Admin rights on a new user account, check the Services and to install the printer again.
Please follow these steps:
Create a new profile with Administrator Rights. Create a user account .
On the Windows 8, hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box.
Check the Windows Image Acquisition Services:
On the Windows 8, hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box.
Type in services.msc and click on OK.
In the Window, please right click on Windows Image Acquisition Service and then click on Properties.
In the Properties window, please click on Dependencies window and check the dependencies.
It should be “Remote Procedure Call” and “Shell Hardware Detection”. If you find anything else, please advise.
Close the Properties window.
In the main Services window, in the list make sure Windows Image Acquisition Service shows 'Started' in the Status column and 'Automatic' for the Startup Type. If the option to stop is available, click stop and then click start.
In the main Services window, in the list make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) shows as 'Started' in the Status column and 'Automatic' for the Startup Type.
In the main Services window, in the list make Shell Hardware Detection services shows as 'Started' in the Status column and 'Automatic' for the Startup Type.
If the other two in the services are not started, please restart these services and then restart the Windows Image Acquisition service. Just right click and select start on each one.
Temporarilty turn off the Antivirus software and the Real Time scanning through the Antivirus software, since it may stop the services.
When you run the installation, right click on it and Run as Administrator.
Please let me know the results.

Booklet Printing - LaserJet 4700 - color

Once I select booklet printing, the "Manual Duplex" button disappears and the document will not print as a booklet or only prints one page of an 8 page document.

Is printer laserjet 2100 compatible with OS X Yosemite 10.10

Hi, I have a HP Laserjet 21000 printer and I connect it to my Mac. I bought a praralelle to USB cable.
Problem: I'm trying to print from my mac and it prints many blank pages. I downloaded the driver from HP website and I am still getting the same problem. I discussed with Apple support and they suggested I contact HP. Would you have the appropriate driver.

Sorry you are having issues installing your Laserjet 2100 to you Mac running Mac OS X 10.10.
You might try downloading and installing the 3rd party Gutenprint driver for your printer. You can download this driver here: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php.

When the driver install will be finished i answer connected my printer with Networking (TCP/IP) Manual configuration mode
After finished i already pass to test scan with flat panel, load feeder, fax in/out, but cannot print
but i use USB Cable to connect my printer it can print

I understand you're unable to print using the Laserjet 1536 MFP. I will do my best to assist you! First, what is your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
I would recommend downloading the Print and Scan Doctor, to verify if this utility fixes why you're unable to print. (This is only for a Windows computer.) Please post the results on this post, if this did fix anything.
Next, please follow this entire HP document on 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP Printer Will Not Print. Make sure the printer port is correct, which is indicated from this document.

Then 3 of led are bright. I can't continue to test next page

Is there a way to reset the printer (laserjet pro 300 color mfp)

So I've had alllllll sorts of problems with my all-in-one. Often when I try to scan, it won't work, saying that it can't find the printer. Same when trying to print. I figured it was some sort of connectivity issue. I connect via my wifi network. So I tried to remove the software from my Macbook and now when I try to reinstall it, it can't find my printer. So I hook it up with a USB cord. Now it sees the printer, but it stalls out and won't connect... most of the time. At one point I got as far as the porting over my macbooks network settings over to the HP printer, but then it stalled out there. Any way to do a hard reset of the HP printer? I feel like something is going on with it's wifi abilities.

If it's really the colors, you can calibrate them using System Preferences Displays pane Color tab.
If it's actually the brightness, you cannot adjust it any brighter than the control allows on System Preferences Displays pane Display tab. The CCFL lamps used for the backlight do decrease in brightness over time (unless they are the new LED type found in some of the newer MacBooks and Cinema display)
