Printer not working wireless

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8600. I have my printer hooked to my home network. Each computer can see the printer and will print from it. Well almost. I have a Windows 7 desktop and laptop. Both can print fine from the 8600. The desktop is connected by a Ethernet cable and the laptop is connected wireless. The computer having the issue is the Vista desktop. I have the printer hooked up by USB now and it is working fine. The problem is getting anything to print wireless from this computer. When I try to print it may print a couple lines right off the bat but then stops. Every once in a while you may hear some activity. However most of the time the page will spit out plain and the screen will say print cancelled, even though I never cancelled it.
I can use the printer as it is connected now and be happy. I just wanted to try to figure out why it is printing slow/not printing at all from my Vista computer. Again this only happens when trying to print wireless. It is fine when connected by USB. This printer also printed fine to the last printer I had. It was a Officejet 6500. The printer broke so I got a new one. There have not been any changes to the computer since installing this printer. I installed the software using the disk that came with the printer. However when I plugged in the USB cable it found and installed more software. I tried to print wireless again after that and it would not print.
This question was solved.

I believe I have found the problem. I noticed that only my Vista computer was running slow on upload speed test. I also had trouble with a tech remotely connecting to my desktop. Along with my printer slow printing I began to think it must be my computer. I was able to test my desktop with speed test while directly connected to the modem. That eliminated my router as the issue. It was still slow. So I decided to do a complete new install of Vista. I have tested several times during this re-install of my OS and system programs and my speeds are good. They have been very good. So it must have been something to do with my desktop. The printer is working fine from my Vista computer now. Thank you for your help in trying to resolve my issue. Happy I found this forum. I am sure I will be doing some more reading here. For now back to my desktop to get all my programs re-installed. Rick

i need to get the printer to find the wireless router!!!!!!

First, let's make sure the printer is OK.  From the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Network Test.  Does it pass all its tests?
Next, in the same Network menu, Reset Network Defaults.
Now, if all that goes well, from the same Network menu run Wireless Setup WIzard.

  • Printer not working following iPad uodate

Printer not working following iPad upgrade

    Hi,
Is the printer not mechanically working or are you having a problem with printing wirelessly from your device? Was the upgrade to the ipad software or did you get a new ipad?
Try restarting your apple device - It's a simple fix that sometimes helps re-establish the connection to the printer.
Other things to check would be that there have been no recent changes to the wifi password.

  • How Do I Set Printer to Work Wirelessly?

Help! I have a new MacBook Pro and a HPC4780 printer and am trying to get the printer to work wirelessly. The HP person walked me through the printer set up over the phone and the printer itself works. However, it will not print off my computer. I have an airport express router. When I ran the test on the printer I received a Failed response for " Network Name (SSID) found". I would appreciate any guidance at this time. Am getting frustrated! Thanks.

    Hello Anne.
I'm more than happy to help you through the steps. But the more I think about how it can impact your Mac's ability to connect to the Net and your beginner status then I think we should try a different tack. Obviously your Mac has no issue connecting to your network and is currently working fine so I suggest we need to confirm all these network settings in the Mac and then somehow check what the printer is set to.
I have to inform you that I have an Airport Extreme, not an Express, so apologies to you now if some of the steps don't apply. Also, changing the settings in the Mac will impact your ability to connect to your wireless network and most likely the Internet. If you don't feel comfortable with changing these Mac network settings and impacting your ability to connect to the Net then it might be best to leave things alone and get some help from the Apple store. If you are confident with the Mac then here's some steps...
So open the Airport Utility, you should see your Airport Express in the list of the devices in the left column and in the right pane some information about the device. At the bottom of this pane is the Manual Setup button - press this.
The new view will now show several icons in the toolbar. The one you want is Airport, which is probably selected by default. With the Airport icon selected you will see several buttons below it, such as Summary, Base Station, Wireless and Access Control. Press Wireless. This is where you will see your wireless network name (SSID) and the type of wireless security being used. Write down your network name and the type of security you are using. Note that the password is not shown here so hopefully you know what you set previously.
With the Airport Utility still open press the Advanced icon in the toolbar. Under the 'Logging and Statistics' tab is the button 'Logs & Statistics'. Press this and then press the Wireless Clients button. This will show all the devices currently connected to the Airport Express. The names of the computers is not shown - only their network address so you would need to know what the HP network address (also called MAC address) is to see if it was one of the connected devices. I would expect that based on the error you got before this printer is not showing in the list. You may have to check your HP documentation to determine what its MAC address is.
With the Airport Utility still open go back through the steps the HP support got you to do to connect the device to your network, using the information you obtained from the Airport Utility. If the device appears to connect to your network then you can check the Wireless Clients view of Airport Utility to see if it shows the HP connection.
Hope this helps you. Please reply if you need more assistance.

  • File- Print not working from SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13

File->Print not working from SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13.
I downloaded sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213.ZIP and extract to a local directory. From the extracted directory I ran ..\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper.exe from Windows XP sp2. The program itself seems to run just fine but File-Print doesn't do anything. In Help-About, Java Platform is reported as 1.5.0_06 and Oracle IDE is 1.2.1.3213. I'm not sure where to look for what is causing the problem.
    Thanks

I hadn't tried CTRL-P before but I did today. On the first attempt, I saw a small jump in the memory usage for sqldeveloper.exe as reported in Windows Task Manager. Otherwise, there was no change. A second CTRL-P in the same session produced a further bump but subsequent attempts in the same session produced no further change in CPU or Memory Usage.
Using Task Manager to monitor this further, I tried File->Print again and saw that sqldeveloper would periodically climb to 1 or 2 percent CPU and consume a little more memory. After a minute or so, though, all activity stops again.
I do not get a print dialog box from SQLDeveloper using either CTRL-P or File->Print

I cant access any printers, not even the virtual printers.
What I would do is use ProcMon to find out why that Event entry was written.  Then I imagine I would get a clue about a .dll which might be involved, which hopefully might be registerable.  Since IE9 there have been new .dll  involving printing
which have not been reflected in any of our repair tools.  However, instead of modifying our old scripts to reflect this fact, I have been advocating, so far unsuccessfully, that Microsoft create a proper IE Repair tool, one which does not rely on such
unreliable techniques.   E.g. a better method of repairing would be to have it done by a proper troubleshooter (an .msdt file) but so far it seems nothing has been done in that way for these symptoms (again, assuming the cause is registry corruption
and not simple interference from now incompatible third-party programming--the fix for that would be to identify and remove the incompatibilities.)   For example.

  • MFP 177 wireless printing not work on win8.1

    Hi,
Just bought a HP color Laserjet MFP177 4 in one printer. After installation (and many attempts) i am failng to print from my PC. However it did print the test page at the time of installation and scanning function is working fine.
    Please help

    Hi @Razeen ,
I see that you are not able to print over the wireless network, but you can scan. I can help you with this.
Temporarily turn off any Firewalls to make sure they aren't interfering.
I have provided a document to try and resolve this issue. Also download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it.
'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP Printer Will Not Print.
    Disregard the title.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a great day!

  • HP B500 Wireless Bluethooth Adapter for HP Printer Not Working With Windows 8.1

I have been using the HP BT500 bluetooth Wireless adapter to print wirelessly to my HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer.  I have been using Windows Vista, but recently upgraded to Windows 8.1.  I learned after the upgrade that the HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter is not compatable with Windows 8.1.  I have attempted to find a driver upgrade for the B500, but there does not appear to be one available.  I have also searched the HP site and other sites in an attempt to locate an alter wireless blotth adapter to replace the B500, but have again been unable to locate one.
Is there a wireless bluetooth apter that will allow me to print wirelessly to my HP Office Pro 8500 from my laptop?

    Hi @Raider83,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP B500 wireless bluetooth adapter for your HP Officejet 8500 is not working with Windows 8.1. I am sorry to hear this but happy to look into this for you!
I am not sure if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System. But sometimes with Windows 8.1 you can use compatibility mode to install an older version of the driver. Which might help the situation. Here is a link to some other Windows drivers, HP bt500 Bluetooth USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter Drivers.
Once you got a driver downloaded, follow this guide, Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows, on how to install it using compatibility mode.  It is not guaranteed to work, but it is worth a try!
If you still need me to look for other bluetooth adapters, please respond with your printer's Product/Model Number. To find your printer's Product/Model Number follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number. As there are multiple HP Officejet 8500 printers.
Thank you for posting, and have a nice day!

  • Wireless printer not working after 10.5 upgrade

My Canon All-in one MP600 was working fine using 10.4.11 and Airport Extreme Base Station. I upgraded to 10.5.4 and now the printer does not work. I checked the Airport utility and the printer shows under printer. The printer works fine on my wife's MacBook. The old printer setup utility app is not present on 10.5. Am I missing something? I followed the instructions to install the wireless printer but it still does not work. It works fine when I use the USB cable directly to my powerbook G4.

Found problem. Removed printer from Sys Prefs -> Printers and Fax and re-installed it. Works now.

  • Apple airport express wireless printing not working on Windows

I have installed the Airport Utility v 5.5.3 and Bonjour Printer Wizard on my Windows XP (SP3) machine. I have successfully set up the router, but am unable to print wirelessly. In the utility, I see my printer and have selected the checkbox Share printers over WAN. I have the driver printers installed on a Windows laptop, but am unsuccessful printing from the laptop.
I read somewhere that I need to set the Internet > Connection Sharing to Off (Bridge Mode). I did that and then got the following error and then can't connect to the internet via the router at all:
An error occurred while trying to access the Apple wireless device. Make sure your network connection is valid and try again. Error -6753.
I have tried setting up Bridge Mode several times and ensured my virus protection and firewall were disabled, but always the same results, so I reset my router and am back to using the Internet > Connection Sharing option of Share a public IP address.
The whole reason I bought this router is because it is supposed to be easy for wireless printing, but this has been far from easy to set up. So frustrating. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your quick response. Yes, I have Bonjour Print Services installed. I thought I had to select Share printers over WAN for some reason. Just now I deselected this setting, updated the utility and wireless printing still does not work .
