"Printer Offline" - only Administrators can switch to "Online" status

I am using Vista SP2 with 4 user accounts (2 Administrators, 2 Non-Administrative users) using Norton/Symantec Antivirus and Windows Defender
I have a HP OfficeJet J6480 hooked up wirelessly to the network with a manual IP address: 192.168.1.3
The printer was working fine for many months. Over the past few months, the printer seems to go offline for a non-administrative user after some period of inactivity and only an administrator can force it to go back "Online"
I've called help a few times last year, reinstalled the printer drivers multiple times, and searched the posts for something similar, but can not seem to find a lasting solution.
Any suggestions?

Only Administrator account can access store

OK, I have windows vista and only the secret Administrator account can access the itunes store (this is an account that can be activated using cmd, it has complete priveleges). so anyways there are two other accounts on the computer and neither can access the store (network connection has timed out). the computer is connected to the internet. both firewalls (windows, mcaffee) are disabled.

Printing notes only?

I have a presentation in Keynotes 09 which is finished but I am trying to print the notes on the various slides. I only seem to be able to print them with the slides and then they get reduced down to an unreadable font size.
In (dare I say it) powerpoint you used to be able to select file > send to> Word> and print notes only but I can't seem to be able to do it with Keynotes can anyone help please.
No point in saying send it to powerpoint as it does not work either as I have used the bits in 09 to make it ....

According to the 4th level deep in Microsoft Office Support. The only way to print just the notes pages is to select each page or series of pages that you want to print (in a single print action) and print it, skipping the slides with not notes. You can't even print a few pages of just the notes, where they could print a few lines for every slide identifying the slide number. and if there was no note, leave it blank, and if there was a note, put it in.
It's no wonder I only use Microsoft when I have to. Does anyone know if Keynote would have given me this option?

How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen? Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.

Can't get read-only access to my switches via http

I set up a couple of users for read-only access to our switches via their web browsers. I set this up in Network Assistant. However when we try to log in, only a level 15 user is allowed to log in and there doesn't seem to be any way change this.
I know in Network Assistant, you can choose which user level you want, but I don't see any way to do it via the web interface.
What am I missing here?

Implementing security within a switching environment is less intuitive than in a router. Switches, by design, tend to recognize only two levels of administrative access - user exec mode or privileged exec mode. Implementation of security at different access levels, level 15, etc, can be tricky and should be done at the command prompt, not in the GUI.
You should reset your config and do not use Network Assistant for this purpose; it is "buggy."

How can I print using only black with the Lexmark Z810?

I want to print using only the black cartridge. I'm out of color ink. However, I see no option to print using black only. Consequently, when I print a document, only the parts of it that are black with show up on the paper. Anything that has another color will not appear on the page. Is there a solution to this problem?

Print Options can be hard to find and sometimes seem to change locations depending on OSX version or printer model. Here is where it is on the print dialog on my mini with HP printer.

Why won't the OfficeJet Pro 8625 driver allow me to print using black only on non-plain media types?
I purchased an OfficeJet Pro 8625 for general home printing and to print shipping labels for my business. I purchased a second tray so I can keep both plain paper and shipping labels in the printer all the time.
To select the labels, I had to pick a media type for the labels tray. I can't choose labels, so I chose Cardstock. But when I select Cardstock as the type in the driver when printing, it will not allow me to select black ink only. I want to print black only because the shipping labels come out a little bit fuzzy, with color fringes when printed in color.
I'm not worried about ink usage. I'm an Instant Ink subscriber. I need the labels to be crisp, and printed full color they aren't crisp.
What's the deal here? Why can't I select black only?

I'm sorry to hear that you've had issues printing in black ink only on anything other than plain paper, but I will certainly see what I can do to help out
I'd recommend that you download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If it fails on anything please return and let me know what happened and where it failed and we will go from there.
If it passes everything and it appears there are no issues found, I'd recommend that you call our technical team for further options

Delete the printer in System Preferences and re-add it. You may also want to restart the Airport.

Unless you installed the ARD administration application on the computers yourselves, all they'll have is the client. The ARD admin app is not included with Macs; it must be purchased from the Mac App Store. If you did for some reason install the ARD admin app, just remove it.

Select the day. then look on the bottom left where you will see the word, TODAY, select it then select print frame.

You can configure the AirPort Expess to "Join a wireless network" and enable the Ethernet port so that Ethernet devices will be able to connect.
In order to print from the iOS devices, you will need to have an application like Printopia installed on your Mac. The Mac must be active when you want to print.

There is a free trial available for Printopia, so make sure that it will work before you buy the AirPort Express.

Can I print using only 1 cartridge??

I'm using the HP PSC 1350 all-in-one and would like to know if I can print out documents using only one cartridge (Black 56) with this printer or do I also need to put in the color cartridge in order to print? At the moment, I only have the Black cartridge and want to know if there's a way to do this because I am unable to. Welcome to the HP Community, and thanks for posting in the HP Forums! I would like to help you with your inquiry about printing with only one cartridge installed in your HP PSC 1315 All-in-One printer. The Single Cartridge Mode option is a fairly new feature, only a handful of older printers are capable of printing with only one cartridge installed. I've looked through the troubleshooting documentation for this unit, and it appears that both cartridges must be installed with at least some ink in them, in order for the printer to be functional. Otherwise, it is stuck in an error state and will be unresponsive to any print commands. I hope this helps!

FileVault 2 - Login issue: Only administrator can decrypt HD?

Hi, I just activated FileVault 2 (Lion) on my MBP (late 2007). Now, when I start the machine, the only user who can log in is the Admin account, not my "normal" user account. This is odd, because during the FileVault setup, I explicitly allowed this user to decrypt my data. Hence, the only way to access my user account is to login as Admin, log off again and then log in as user. The Aplle FileVault manual states that one could easily add users after encryption in Preferences, but I can see no such option on my machine.
Any idea what's wrong here?

Have you searches through the articles on the Right of this page under 'More Like This' for a solution? Personally I have never used, and will never use File Vault. But many do, so your solution is more than likely here.
