Printer "printing" empty artboard area

My printer (actually, it's a laser engraver) is reading the entire artboard in addition to the actual image as needing to be run when set for "3D" (aka greyscale) images, as opposed to just going to the image on the artboard. It is running as though it sees the empty space as white and it is trying to "color" it. When it gets to where the image is placed on the artboard, it runs the image (black or greyscale) within/on it. It wastes A LOT of time. I guess, what I really want to know is how to make sure the artboard area is not being picked up and seen as a part of the image. I need it's dimentions to be read, but not any fill except for the actual image(s) on the artboard. I've never had this problem in the past with other machines (by the same manufacturer) using Illustrator. I was using CS5, not CC.
I ran this by the laser company's techs and they say it is an issue with my Illustrator/Adobe set up, not their driver. Of course, they are pretty dedicated to Corell and have no one on staff that can give me any real help with an Adobe product...

Preview prints empty boxes instead of text in .pdf

Recently I noticed that when I try to print a .pdf file from Preview, even when all the text shows on the monitor correctly, when it prints, it prints empty boxes (outline of a box the size of the letters) where the texts should be.
When I open the same .pdf file using Acrobat and then print it, it prints out fine.
The printer has postscript capability and the fonts used is pretty standard (from the looks of it, Times or something like it).
I powercycled both the printer and the print server and no difference.
Why is this happening?
MacOS 10.6.8
MBP early 2011
printer: HP LJ 5MP vis JetDirect print server (networked on our Airport Extreme base station via ethernet)

The first thing to do is make sure there's not a problem with the disk permissions. Below are the instructions for doing that. Let me know what happens.
To repair disk permissions:
Open finder.
Search for and open Disk Utility.
Select the drive with the OS installed.
Click on Repair Disk Permissions.

Printing all artboards?

I'm building a script that loops through folders and prints all available PDF-files (long story).
I'm having some issues with PDF-files, that has multiple artboards in them.
When doing the obligatory "sourceDoc.Print()" it only prints the first artboard. Are there any available print-options that I can set to force it to print ALL artboards in the given file?

Managed to get it working - I needed to do this as well:
var colorOptions = new PrintColorManagementOptions();
var printOptions = new PrintJobOptions();
var options = new PrintOptions();
options.jobOptions = printOptions;
I had already declared PrintColorManagementOptions and PrintOptions, but I'd forgotten about PrintJobOptions. After setting these, everything worked beautifully.

when i try replacing with new hp officejet 940xl black cartridge i get a can't print empty cartrige message, took back to store replaced with new hp 940xl but continue to get same message ,watched instalation video, i'm doing it correctly,went to utilities , shows ink in older color cartiges but no ink in new ? gone to hp support pages , no answer , no further help or direction ,now out of warrenty so no help from hp ? at wits end anyone else with this problem ?

When I try and print a web page in the print screen ALL the Print Frame options are greyed out. It won't let me print a page as I see it. I need to pring a page as is. How do I do it in the new 8.0??

As far as printing a page as you see it, many web pages use '''print.css''' files for print-media. The print.css specifies exactly what is to be sent to the printer and it can control the formatting of the printed page.

HP LaserJet 200 color M251nw prints, but images are blurred.

I see by your post that the images are blurred. I would like to help you.
Run a calibration on the printer.
On the printer touch the wrench, system setup, print quality, color calibration calibrate now.
Print a Diagnostics Page to see if you have the same results. Trying to determine if it is a hardware or software issue.
Go to Setup, Reports, arrow down and select Diagnostics Report.
I have provided a document with more steps for running a cleaning and checking print driver settings.
Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues.
Remove the toner and check to see if there is any toner on drum.
Make sure the paper type is selected to the media that you are using, not the default setting unspecified.
Please provide the following information so I can assist you better.
What were the results of Diagnostics Page and Print Quality Page?
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
What are the Ink levels?
Was there any damage on the toners?

Steps to recreate
(i) Create new user account and add to any group ( do not log on using this
account)
(ii) runas /user:<new user account> <fullpath>\excel.exe
it will ask password so enter on command prompt
(iii) open any excel document and click File->Print
(iv) verify result (it is failing) it pop ups below error

I have a default set excel is still throwing error. Interestingly winword , powerpoint and publisher are working fine. I am able to print from all office applications except Excel.
Probably excel behaves differently from other office applications.
Probably it is a bug in excel
Workaround : Log on to a system once using newly created account then runas excel using this account then print works fine.
It means something in user profile should be configure to run excel print operation. Could you please somebody help what I need to configure in user profile that makes print operation success?

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

While opening a file in Adobe reader 10 in Windows 7,I am getting the error as
"The maximum number of files are already open.No Other files can be opened or printed until some are closed."
Can Anyone help or suggest a setting for this ?

Could you please let me know how many files have you opened simultaneously.
This count will include files that are being displayed as well as opened (without being shown in the viewer).
Using Reader, you cannot make any setting for the same, but close some of the files before crossing that limit.
It also depends on your OS and memory size as you would need enough memory to open many files at a time.

How do you change the page format to print a larger area?

Hi there, another new to mac and new to numbers guy.
I'm trying to find the windows equivalent to change page format.
I want to reduce the blank border surrounding my table and print a larger area. How do you reduce the blank border that prevents you from printing up to the paper edge?

Page margns in Numbers are set in the Layout Inspector.
Open the Inspector and click the Layout button.
Edit the four margin settings as you wish. Reduce the (page) header and footer settings to zero if you don't want to include running headers or footers on your pages.
Note that margins will be limited by the capabilities/settings of your printer. Printing to the edges of the paper usually requires a choice to be made in the Print dialogue as well as for the document itself.

in 4.7 version, directly trying to print the work area and assign to some other fields.
Eg: write: Mara.
text = mara.
but in 6.0, its not allowing to assign directly like this.

basically the problem might be in the ecc 6.0 for the attributes of the program where u r writing it might be u checked the unicode check box if it so remove it and then try or else it is proiblem with the unicode in the ecc 6.0 system where u r working

Basically i have a text area contianing some data which is retrieved from an access database. Those data are display inside the text area. Now, what I want to do is print the text area contianing those data. Anyone has any suggestion.

i have prfiled the mac and printer wiht colormunki and uplodated the profile sucessfully
i set the printer to correct icc profile
print out comes out same with glazed colors and missing tones/colors
however when i use the same printer on windows and with light room, following same icc profile, colormunki calibrated profile, the print our are excellent.
i have also tried using printer manage profile using the Mac and Aperture and get same poor prints

I've a Pro9000 and also use Colormunki successfully.
When I use Colormunki, I calibrate both of my monitors and the printer/paper combination. Colormunki saves the generated profiles to the correct places -- I don't load or change any profiles after that as that would mess-up what the Colormunki had just done for me, and this would likely mess-up the prints.
Though I double-check the settings in the print dialogue, the choice for the printer handling things is already grayed-out. Colorsync handles it all just fine.

iOS device backups are stored in your iTunes library.
Move your iTunes library to an external drive.
