Printer prints blank pages when I turn it on

When I turn my printer on it starts to endlessly print blank pages for no reason. I have checked the print log and there isn't anything waiting to be printed. I have reset the printer, unplugged the power supply, and reset my computer. None of this worked. I have a HP PSC 1410 All-in-one.

Have you tried disconnecting the printer from the computer?
1. Power off the printer.
2. Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer.
3. Power on the printer.
Does it still print continously?

Printing Limitations - Blank Pages

Hello
Hopefully someone can help me with this problem.
The SED document is send to my email, it downloaded fine. When it comes to print out, there is no text or pictures - the printer sends out blank sheets.
When I try to print out again, a message box springs up and tells me I can only print out 2 pages. No more no less. When I try again, the print icon turns 'grey' and I'm no longer able to print anything out at all in my document.
This has happened to me twice today - if there's a solution, great. If there isn't, then I'm resolved to emailing the provider and asking them to re-send my documents. I'm curious as to why this should happen and hope it won't become a regular occurrence.

I saw your post about your 8500 Wireless now printing out blank pages, when you try to make copies, fax, or print. I understand you have checked the ink levels and they all look good and contain ink.

How can I stop Address Book (Lion) from printing an extra blank page when I print an envelope

Whenever I print a mailing envelope in Lion's Address Book, it prints fine but then prints a blank page following. How can I stop this?

HP printers for years have had a problem printing an extra envelope from the Apple Addressbook Application with the # 10 envelope.
Solution: Select a #9 envelop. This prints about the same size and does not have an extra envelop.
How to: From Address book, select print, Style: Envelopes, Layout: Layout pulldown Official 9 then print
Interestingly the two smaller and two larger sizes only print one envelope. You can test this by clicking pdf and open pdf in preview.
Over the years I have called HP and they couldn't solve the problem.
I have told Apple today when I figures out the workaround.

Blank pages when printing from Safari

Hi,
I have a brand new iMac running Leopard which is connected via USB to an older HP All-in-one (PSC 2210). The only driver available is from Leopard (none is available on hp.com)
I can print documents (Word, Entourage, etc.) just fine. When I try to print from Safari (any website) it prints 5 blank pages, then part of the website, another blank page, a bit more of the site.
Below is the email from HP.
How can I fix this?

There are no full feature drivers available for the Macintosh OS 10.5 that is compatible with the
PSC 2210 The engineers will not be creating any full feature drivers for the PSC 2210 due to the age of the printer. You should have print functionality because of the built in drivers, but
you will not have scanning functionality.
Printing from a Web browser, a software program used to access the Internet, is often problematic since most Web pages are designed to be viewed rather than printed. Getting a successful printout depends on the way the page was constructed and the settings within the Web browser. In most cases, these problems have nothing to do with the printer itself.
Open the web browser you wish to print from. Click on File, top menu bar, and select Page Setup. Make sure the PSC 2200 series is selected as the default printer in Format For. Click Print.
If you do not have a Page Setup when you click on File, then just select Print. Make sure the PSC 2200 series is selected as the default printer. Click Print.
If you are still having the same issue, bring up the document you wish to print. Click on Edit, top menu bar, and select Select All. Click on Edit again and select Copy. Open the Hard Drive/Applications/TextEdit.
Click on Edit and select Paste. This should copy and paste the document into TextEdit. Click on File and select Print.
If you are still having an issue, you will have to contact Apple for further assistance. The only other option HP can give you is an upgrade option.

I was asking the question to test whether or not it is the website, not as a workaround necessarily.

Printing Blank Page When Address line 2 or 3 is Present

Hi all,
I am running a custom report in Oracle Applications (11.5.10.2) from the Payables Manager responsibility and whenever there is an additional address line apart from address line1, the report prints a blank page in it's output, although I cannot see the blank page in the preview. This happens when I try to print the report output from the 'options' tab of the concurrent request window to any printer I select from the drop-down list. When I run the report without the print option, the report does not display any blank page in the output window.

Hi,
I'm guessing the concurrent program is outputting text (character mode) as opposed to PDF?
This could be a number of reasons:
1. Printer driver issue, e.g. the number of lines printed on the page is more than is defined for the printer driver: Try reducing the "Rows" on the current program definition
2. Printer PRT issue, extra page break could be being inserted.
3. The "box" in the report definition containing the address could be being expanding due to the extra address line, but not enough space so it forces a new page to be printed.

Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
☞ If running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
☞ If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.
Delete the following items from the Library folder:
Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
Relaunch Safari and test.

OSX 10.3.9 - Blank page when printing to HP LaserJet 2430.

Hi all,
I have a problem with a user who has a G5 running OSX 10.3.9.
Initially they were able to print to the printer fine but as of Friday last week it just prints a blank page.
The printer is setup on a print server and the Mac has it setup via an LPD queue.
It was setup to use an HP2300 print driver and that was fine. But has since stopped working. I installed the proper 2430 driver but get the same problem.
I've tried dumping the apple.print.*.plist preferences but still it only prints out a blank page from every application I've tried i.e. Word 2004, Text Edit, Adobe Acrobat etc...
You can print to other printers no problem. I can also print from another identical model Mac to the troublesome printer.
Has anybody got any further suggestions?

Photosmart All in one C4780 Printer prints only blank pages, connected to a MacBook Pro

My Photosmart C4780 all in one printer which is connected by USB to my MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8 prints only blank pages, and no text; I have turned it on and off; disconnected and reconnected; uninstalled the HP software and reloaded and updated drivers, firmware and patches. I understand you are not able to print in black and the copy function isn't working.
I will be happy to assist you with this.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector)
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or
software issue. Click Here.

BI Publisher - if page number is not divisible by 2 then print a blank page

I have an BI Publisher rtf word template. I want to be able to print a blank page if the page number is not divisible by 2. Does any body know how this can be done? Your input is greatly appreciated and thank you so much in advance.

Thank you for the link. The problem that I have is when the job specification last page prints on the front of the page, and the next job specification prints on the back of that page. There is no way I can control what page it is going to print on. This is depending on how much description the user puts in. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
I do have another issue too, and you maybe able to help me with this. Below is a list of form fields on my template. When the job specification is printed on more than one page, I could not get the fk_job_title to print on the continuous pages. Is there a way I can code this fk_job_title to print on all of it's continuos page? I have tried many different ways but could not get it to print. I also posted this in the forum, but didn't get any respond.

Could be a number of issues. First could be a bad or not connecting transfer rollers which moves the toner from the drum to the paper. Only way to test is a half test by putting paper on the manual tray and printing a self test. When the back edge enters the printer, open the toner door to stop printing. Remove the toner and flip back the cover over the toner drum to see if there is any image on the drum. If image is present then it could be transfer roller issues. Use the service manual and look under engine diagnostics in the index and it will direct you to a page that shows how to perform an engine test. Do the test to see if you get a sheet of paper with lines on it. If you get lines, then the issue could be the formatter. If no lines and the shutter has been removed then I would think you are having high voltage issues. You may have to bring the printer in for service.

HP L7680 printing extra blank pages

I had repeated issues with LHP 7680 printing extra blank pages. Tried the "new driver" fix and that didn't work. Found the fix: Go to Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, RIGHT CLICK the L7680 Printer, click on Properties, click on Advanced tab. "Spool print documents...." is selected. Change the selection to PRINT DIRECTLY TO PRINTER. Tested and resolved the issue when printing Word and Excel docs

Try this...
1. Go to the Printers folder and right click on the printer icon, then select ‘Run as Administrator’, and select ‘Properties’.
2. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab, and click on the ‘New Driver’ button.
3. When you have to select the printer driver, select the ‘Have Disk’ button and point it to the installation CD or the ‘7zSxxx’ folder and install it from here. Or you can look under the ‘Manufacturers’ list and select ‘Hewlett-Packard’ instead of ‘HP’, and then select the appropriate printer driver.
4. Complete the wizard, then apply the settings by pressing the ‘Apply’ button. Try printing again, and the issue should not reoccur.

Officejet 6500 prints 1 blank page from pdf files and nothing else

We just installed this printer. It prints from websites, word, quickbooks just fine. It also successfully copies and faxes. When we try to print from a adobe pdf attachment it prints one blank page and that is all. This also happens when we try to print from googledocs.

I have the same problem with an HP Officejet Pro L7680. Moreover, it now only prints double-sided!

HP 6510 printing only blank pages after changing print cartridges

Hi,
My HP 6510 is printing only blank pages after I installed new print ink cartridges. I tried cleaning the print heads, aligning the printer... which did result in some pages printing with a little color (but it seemed "off" to me). That said, when I try to print a regular document from my PC it only prints a blank page.
I can't seem to figure this one out on my own - please help!

The document here may help resolve black not printing on your Photosmart 6510. Be sure the cartridges are vented as shown in solution two.
Is your printer still in warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.
