Printer prints objects about 1 inch high on Avery sticker paper

I have laid out a project using both the Avery online program and my own program (Print Center Deluxe by Expert soft ware.  Everything lines up fine on the test sheet. ( Plain paper with the positions of the various stickers printed on it.)
When I try to print the project on the actual sticker paper the images print about 1/2 inch high.
when I try to adjust the position of the image in either program it prints about the same distance low. I even tried cutting a half inc off the top of the sticker paper. The results was the image again being 1/2 inch low.
My printer is an HP Deskjet D1520.
When I contacted HP support I found my printer to be out of warrantee and they wanted more than half of what it would cost for a new printer to help me.
Is there a solution to the problem or is my printer incapable of being used with this type of paper. If so, should I choose to replace it how can I tell if the next one will work with sticker paper.
I have printed on full sheet clear labels with no positioning problems
Any information I can get will be greatly appreciated

Hi - If it prints fine on plain paper, but not on the labels, it sounds like it maybe has something to do with the paper type sensor on the printer.  In whatever program you're using, go ahead and try selecting "plain paper" in the paper type field of the printer driver, after selecting File, Print and choosing preferences (or settings).  Sounds to me like the printer is recognizing the paper as a photo paper and maybe shifting everything to print borderless.
Hope that helps.

  • Why does the new version not print properly? The left half a page prints in a 2 inch column.

When we try to print coupons or articles only the left half of the page prints in a 2 inch column in the middle of the page. This started when I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. When we print from Internet Express, everything prints fine.

    Check your margin settings.
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter.
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
Filter = ''margin'' - then look at the left and right margin settings for any that look grossly incorrect - the setting is in inches. Some users with that problem have reported settings like 2.7235879 - IOW a very long numeric string after the decimal point.
Right-click the Value and select Reset or Modify. 0.5 or 0.25 are appropriate settings if you elect to Modify.

  • Trying to print an object at all pages but not last

    Hi.
I'm trying to print an object (a square ) at all pages but not printing at last. I try to use "All But Last Page" at "Print Object On" property of field but this is not ok.
Tried to get value of any function like SRW.GET_PAGE_NUM to find the last page indicator, but I think this doesn't exist.
    Any idea will be apreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hope this helps.
It's all about anchors. Objects cannot have a property of Print Object On "Last Page" or "All but last page" if their Base Printing On property is "Enclosing Object". In order for it to work, you should anchor the fields or frames you want displayed on "all but the last page" to the main frame which holds the Repeating frame of the detail section of your report. Then, you should set the Base Printing On property to "Anchoring Object" and now you're ready to use the "All but last page" and "Last Page" options on Print Object On property.

You can use UTL_FILE and use standard/basic file I/O calls like fread() and fwrite() - common amongst most (if not all) programming languages.
You can define an external table for the file, and SQL*Load the contents of the file dynamically via a SQL SELECT statement.
You can load the file into a CLOB using DBMS_LOB and then process it - quite useful if the text file is XML as the XMLTYPE supports parsing a a CLOB containing XML.
I want to pick Each object name put in a separate file line by line. That in turn will need to use UTL_FILE to create an external file.
Keep in mind though that your in a database environment with PL/SQL. The very best place for data is inside the database in SQL tables. Not outside as external files. Thus you need to ask yourself whether dealing this way with external files is the best solution, and a robust and scalable one.
Granted, many times from the database side we need to deal with external files. The optimal method usually is to load that file's data into a database table as structured data - data that can be accessed via SQL and sorted, filtered, aggregated and analysed.
To provide a "file" as output - this should ideally be done directly from structured data (SQL tables). And can be done using HTTP (via a web enabled PL/SQL procedure that supplies the file content as a http Mime stream), using FTP (via <i>UTL_TCP</i>) or as a CLOB via a PL/SQL call interface. Using UTL_FILE is not necessarily the only option.

Bought a new Canon MG7540 printer to replace the old HP A618. When printing vector objects from Illustrator, they look like graphics from dandy (8 bits) ... no smooth, all cubes ... if do raster than print perfectly.  Who knows how to treat it? No well to rasterize vector before each printing. OS - MacOs 10.10.

Have you read the User's Guide for that printer?  Odds are you will get reasonable prints.  However, it is a photographic printer.  That said, it should print excellent quality photographic files.  To get smooth lines in Illustrator, try Preferences > Use Anti-Aliased Artwork.  That will smoothen the output.  If, for some reason, that does not work, try Print > Save As PDF > open PDF in Reader and print from there.  Check the User's Guide for media sizes available for your particular printer.  Setup your artboard to the size page you want the image to print on.  Use View > Show Page Tiling ( to see where the page's printable area lies.  Align the page with the artboard using the Page tool.

  • Printing graphics object in Landscape or portrait mode

    Hello,
I have a graphics 2d object (a Tree Diagram) which is inside a JScrollPane, and the JSCrollPane is on a JPanel. it's length and width is more than one page. I am using a printable object to print the object. The task I need to do is,
(1). compress the width and length of the diagram, so that if can fit into one page, else split the diagram into pages, so that each part of it can be printed on different pages(page size A4) and then later those pages can be merged accordingly.
I am not able to find, how to split the graphic object(the tree diagram into pages), shoul d I try doing it using x and y co ordinate of the graphic object.

  • Why won't my printer print with Windows 8?

Why won’t my printer print with Windows 8?
Have you just upgraded, or purchased a new computer with Windows 8, and now you can’t get your printer to work?  If so, this may help you.  A lot of people have questions about installing their printer on a new OS.  This will help you answer those questions and make sure that you get everything installed.
    Before You Start
Before you try to install the printer on a Windows 8 computer, you should check to make sure the printer is compatible with the new OS.  The link below will give you a list of the printers that will work in Windows 8.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03168175&lc=en&cc=us&destPage=document&dlc=en
If you have upgraded your computer to Windows 8 form another version of Windows, make sure to completely uninstall all of the software for your printer.  It should still print, but to use all the functions you will need to reinstall the software, if it’s available.
Another thing to consider is how you want to connect the printer to the computer.
USB.  You should make sure that you have a USB cable that is no longer than 6 ft. (roughly 2m).  Make sure to connect the printer directly to the computer.  Do not use a USB hub.
Ethernet cable.  Make sure you have the network setup, that you have a free cable port on the router, and that you have an Ethernet cable available.
Wireless.  You should make sure that you have the wireless network setup, and that you have the password for the wireless network.
     1.     Installing Via USB
Installing via USB in Windows 8 has become much simpler for HP printer users.  In other versions of the Windows OS you had to start the installation and wait for it to ask you for the USB connection.  If you didn’t, you would have to uninstall the printer from the Printers/Devices folder, and then start the install.  In Windows 8, that will not be a problem.  If you plug the printer’s USB cable in and then install the printer’s software, it will still work.  Now for in depth instructions on installing the printer via USB click the link below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03460670&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la...
    2.     Installing Via an Ethernet Network Connection
For an Ethernet network connected printer the install is amazingly simple.  All you have to do is connect the printer to the network.  Once you have that done, Windows 8 will automatically install the drivers for you.  Then, all you have to do is install the rest of the software, if it’s available.  It’s really that easy.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    3.     Installing Via a Wireless Network Connection.
For a wireless network connected printer the install is amazingly simple as well.  All you have to do is connect the printer to the network.  Once you have that done, Windows 8 will automatically install the drivers for you.  Then, all you have to do is install the rest of the software, if it’s available.  It’s pretty much the same as an Ethernet install, just wireless.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html
    Alternate Install Methods
With Windows 8, many printers’ drivers are installed with the OS.  These are known as InOS drivers, since they come built into the operating system.  If you have one of those printers, all you should have to do is connect it to the computer via USB, or connect it to the network via Ethernet or wireless.  Once you have that done Windows will handle the rest.  There are alternate methods of installing your printer if the normal methods are not working for some reason.  You can install the printer either using the Printer Install Wizard, or through Windows Updates.
    Printer Install Wizard:

Note: The Laserjet drivers for the Asia-Pacific and Japan won’t be released until a later date.  Check the support site linked below for driver availability.  I will update this post once they become available.

  • Networked Printer Printing Hieroglyphics

Hey everyone! I've got a slight issue with my print server... or I guess a printer that's managed by my print server. It seems that our users aren't able to print anything out without it printing in what seems to be Egyptian Hieroglyphics. However, if we
print a test page from our computers, it seems to work just fine.
The only difference in our computers are that they are using x86-bit and we are running x64-bit machines. Other than that there are no differences. We have tried deleting and recreating the printer from the print management console on the print server. We
can delete the printer but seem to have issues when trying to delete the port that was associated with that printer. It says that, "The requested resource is in use," and will not allow us to delete it.
Other than drivers specific to the architecture of our machines... I'm not entirely sure how to fix this issue. Anyone got any ideas? They would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Hi,
    à
It says that, "The requested resource is in use," and will not allow us to delete it.
    à
If I run a Net Stop Spooler from an elevated cmd prompt on the server, I'm able to delete the port and printer once I've restarted that service!
Thanks for sharing your solution in the forum. Your time and efforts are highly appreciated.
In addition, would you please let us know the current situation of that network printer printing issue? Did you
update printer drivers and monitor the result? Please also open Event Viewer and check if find some relevant clues.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.
