Printer prints too close to top edge...
Can not align my labels from either of our 2 pcs so it is printer not settings.....?..normally prints too close to top egde losing first line of text from work doc which is a pain. Was fine, suddenly decided not to play fair. Any ideas? My christmas cards need their labels......
What printer are you using?
What OS are you using?
How is the printer connected to the computer?
What program are you trying to print from?
Does it do the same thing from other programs?

Everytime I try to close a sticky note I can't manouvour the mouse over the close square as the mouse keeps changing to a resize arrow now they are standard on every side in Lion. Is it just me or is this a common problem?
I have the same problem. It will not close correctly. I think a simple "Preferences" option in the menu that would allow for a doubling of the closing square size would fix the problem in future upgrades. But then, how do you upgrade Stickies by itself? I guess you need to wait for a system update.

I'm replicating to a DVD-9 and my final project in DVDSP is coming in at 7.6. I haven't built yet, so I don't know if that will go up even higher, but am I already too close to the edge to have my project replicated safely?
I believe there is a certain amount of headroom you have to account for but I don't know how much.
If I am too close to the limit, how much should I reduce by? I have 10 minutes of DVD extras that I could re-encode at a lower bit-rate perhaps. If what you are going by is the size indicator on the upper right, then you should be 'OK'. That will not reflect the size of your final project as it relates to size for a particular disc size. One thing you can do to convince yourself is to just build your project to your hard drive and check the properties of the built video_ts folder for content size and I think you will find you are safely under the limit. Even if the reading is dead on, you still have some head room.

Epson prints too dark from LR on color managed MacBook Pro?
Hi all,
I have a newish MacBook Pro, calibrated with Spyder2, and printing to an Epson 2200. The prints are too dark, and don't really come close to matching the screen in LR. I've brought the images into PS2 for soft proofing, but the prints are still far too dark. It's not just out of LR, but DPP as well. I found this topic:
http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bc44027/28
Tthat seems to describe my problem, but it seems to be Adobe-specific. Doug doesn't say if he's tried printing from other apps. I use Epson's custom profiles, which actually seem to be worse than the standard profiles that come with the driver.
A new twist seems to be that profiled jpg images with sRGB profiles exported from LR also print too dark when I had them sent out for printing, which leads me to think that my screen is not profiled correctly, or there's some weird flaw in the Mac's color management engine that skews everything.
My first question: When I profile my screen using Spyder2, I have the brightness set at maximum. Should I bring it down, and if so, how far? The Spyder2 help says use "Factory Defaults", but the MBP ships with brightness set on auto-adjust based on ambient light levels.
My second question: Are there others who have this issue? Have any of you resolved them successfully, and if so, how?
Thanks!
TimmyTime for a reality/sanity check for those who complain that "the "prints are too dark from my Epson printer"!
If you will just reduce your monitor's white-point luminance to the range of 80-90 cd/m2 when you edit your images, it's almost certain that the problem will be solved (assuming you're not making some other error in color management setup). Many people conclude that their problem must be a generic failure or defect of Epson printers (i.e., compared to HP, etc)-- or that the Epson paper profiles are defective. Well, perhaps there's some element of truth to that conclusion--to the extent that Epson printers have evidently been designed with typical professional editing environments in mind (i.e., the low brightness levels to which "serious" printers adjust their monitors and ambient lighting). Why would they do that: Well, who wants to spend many hours each day looking at the glare of a 200 cd/m2 monitor screen (and the reflections from a brighly lighted room)?
So, for getting "monitor-matching" prints from printers such as the SP 2200, you simply need to work (edit) with your images in a more-or-less "dimly lit" room using a monitor that is properly adjusted for such a low-light environment--(i.e., the screen luminance not higher than 90-100 cd/m2). Of course even with such a reduced screen luminance, the light used for print-viewing must be sufficiently bright(**)
It's possible that your monitor cannot be adjusted to the necessary (low) luminance level--or that you haven't any means to measure the luminance level. Those are correctable hardware issues, although may require $$.
(**)please note that a fairly bright viewing light is needed for prints (made as suggested above) to appear to be a reasonably close "match" to the monitor image.

J6480 part of page prints too light
A friend of mine has an hp office jet all in one printer model j6480 that is giving her problems. When she prints a page, the top half looks good, but the bottom prints too light. When she prints another page right after that, the same problem occurs. She will bring it over for me to look at on Tuesday. In the meantime, I was hoping to get an idea of what might be causing it or how to diagnose the problem.
ThanksHi there,
Without knowing your printer and operating system I can only offer limited suggestions. Post back with them is this does not resolve your issue:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01892627&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
Give the steps listed under your operating system a try and let us know if it helps.
Best of Luck!

Anything printed with firefox prints too small
anything printed with firefox prints too small. If I print and email it prints in the center top of the page and is just larger than a credit card. if I adjust the scale to 100% the it prints what could fit on one page onto 4 pages and prints a small portion in the center top of the page and is just larger than a credit card.
Ok i think i fixed this issues.
i went to about:config print.print_margin_bottom (and also left, right and top) and right clicked reset (it took out the previous 0.5 value). now the pages look normal on print preview without the large margin -
I unplugged my printer too soon...
That is, I plugged my laptop into the printer usually connected to my desktop, but unplugged it before the print job was done. I thought the data was already transmitted to the printer and so I could do this. But that print didn't complete and now I can't print any other doc from my laptop. Nothing at all happens on the printer, no power button blinking, no error message, nothing. Printer still works just fine when connected to the desktop computer, no change there. Thanks.
If you look at the Users Guide, the button in the center of the lower partof the scree is called the Home button. The button on the top edge, right side is called the on-off button. Thse are the two buttons that you hod for at least 10 seconds to reset the iPod.

How to Print the space in Top-of-Page in ALV output
Hi gurus,
I had a problem in Printing the Spaces in Top-of-Page.
My Requirement is like.
Material no: (space with 18 char) to 5235268
but it is coming like .
Material no: to 5235268
i wrote the code like this.
form Top_of_page.
IF s_matnr IS NOT INITIAL.
wa_header-typ = 'S'.
wa_header-key = 'Material No:' .
IF s_matnr-high IS INITIAL.
MOVE s_matnr-low TO wa_header-info.
ELSE.
CONCATENATE s_matnr-low ' to ' s_matnr-high INTO wa_header-info SEPARATED BY space.
ENDIF.
APPEND wa_header TO tb_header.
CLEAR wa_header.
ENDIF.
Thanks & Regards,
Anil.Hi Anil ,
If u concatenate anything with space , your space will be lost.
Give a try for this if your s_matnr-high is initial.
data : c(21) type c.
IF s_matnr-high IS INITIAL.
Concatenate '(19 spaces )to' into C. concatenate C s_matnr-low into wa_header-info SEPARATED BY space.
endif.
<b>Please Note i wanted to put spaces at "(19 spaces)to" but posting this message is removing those spaces so have put it in words.</b>you have to take Variable c with first 19spaces and then 'to' as shown.
Here the Variable C is with 21 length for 18 spaces , one space to separate the 18 spaces from 'to' , and then 2 chars for 'to'.
I hope this will help you.

CS5 prints too light using new Mac, perfect from older Mac?
Images edited w. Photoshop CS5 (v. 12.03) on a Mac running OS 10.6.8 print perfectly on my Epson Stylus Pro 3880. But the same files printed from a newer Mac running OS 10.7.4 and Photoshop CS5 (v12.1) print too light. Exact same printer settings in PS being used, same printer driver version (reinstalled to make sure not a bad driver), using the same .icc paper profile (also reinstalled), and using same batch of paper printed at same time.
Where do I start in determining the problem? Epson confirms driver is compatible. Everything else on the new system with PS works great. Gallery show in three weeks, must figure this out quick. Thanks.Ps update is 12.0.4 and 12.1, but you are probably missing something, by posting screenshots someone may be able to spot the problem
are you sure which one is actually wrong
do they display identical in both OSes
are both versions of Ps using the same embedded profile, did you confirm that -
Images appear fine in Photoshop cs6 and cc, but print too dark, and also show too dark in Windows picture viewer. How can I correct this? Is this a Photoshop setting issue or what?
Ok, look at your files in Photoshop. What is the profile assigned to them? You can find this out by going to the Status bar at the bottom, clicking on the right-pointing triangle and choosing document Profile from the list.
Then in Windows, go to your Control Panel > Color Management and add sRGB (if it isn't there) and select it as your default profile.
I hope that will work. -
In reply to MK re: print too high...
MichaelKazlow:in Re: print too high;
I'm using A.Reader v.9.3.4 in XP.3 and Officejet J4540 series; I do think you are on to something with print preview composite showing Zoom 94% & page set to 8.27 x 11.69" but where to change to 8.5 x 11 inches since the zoom @ 94% does not jibe with over 11 lgth X less than 8.5 inches which would seem logical if the 94% issue were the trouble...please expound ~ Jaye ~I'm not on Windows now, but the Windows dialog box is similar to the Mac Print dialog box.
You can see under Comments there is a Page scaling dialog box. Click on the drop down menu and switch from None to Shrink to Printable Area.

I am using Pages to print addresses but they print too low on the envelope. How do I change this?
Help please!!!
ANNHi Isk8ter,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
What version of Pages are you working with? I'm assuming '09 since you reference OS X 10.7.4 above.
I've included the link to the Pages User Manual for you below.
Page 253 starts the chapter on Printing, Shareing and Exporting your document.

Setting the Paper Size and Orientation
Before you print, you should make sure the paper size and orientation are set the way you want by opening the Page Setup dialog.
To set paper size and orientation:
1 Choose File > Page Setup.
2 In the Page Setup dialog, choose the printer you will use from the “Format for” popup
menu.
3 Choose a standard paper size from the Paper Size pop-up menu.
Also, see page 266 of the Pages User Manual for more specific instructions for creating a custom template for envelopes.
Hope this helps ...
