Printer profiles not displayed in PS CC dropdown

I created printer profiles using SpyderPrint, which showed up in PS's print dialog box.  I then renamed the profiles in Win7.  PS still shows the old filenames, and prints from them, but doesn't show the new names.  I've restarted, rebooted, started softproof--nothing helps.  The new filenames don't show up.  How can I refresh the list in Photoshop.CC?

Are you deploying the profile at user or machine level? I know you may know this but others may not but Apple began the deprecation of WorkGroup Manager with 10.7. FWIW those of us who've been using these technologies since 10.2 and earlier learnt to adapt and used a combination of many applications (some 3rd-party) as well as other techniques which over time worked consistently well. I suppose what I'm trying to say is don't pin all your hopes on PM because it's still not 'enterprise-ready' for OS X yet IMO. I think other veterans and professionals in my field may agree? Having said that I did make it work at some installations/deployments since its first release. Yet at other installations I saw exactly the same behaviour as you do. No logical reason as to why as the network contractor was the same for all those sites. For me this effectively ruled out the network topology and infrastructure as a potential source of the problem. Interestingly I noticed it occasionally worked if the printers were in the same subnet as the macs but even this was not conclusive.

  • Printer Profiles Not Visible in LR4 Mac

Hey guys, just checking to see if there is something I'm missing.
Short version: My printer profiles are not showing up in the "choose profile" dialog in LR4.
Long versioin: I'm trying to print an image from LR4 to my Xerox Phaser 8560 using a custom color profile I created with my ColorMunki. However the profile isn't showing up in the "choose profile" dialog box. There is also no apparent way to open a dialog box to search for the file. The profile is recently created. Works in Indesign CS4. It's located in the main Library/Colorsync/Profiles/ and my user (~/Library/Colorsync/Profiles/). It doesn't show up even when checking the "include display profiles" checkbox which is the only option available.
    System: iMac 27" 3.4Ghz i7 16G Ram; Xerox Phaser 8560DN; LR 4.0
    Am I missing something here?
    Thanks,

You likely made a CMYK profile for the printer and LR doesn't support CMYK profiles. You'll have to remake the profile to be an RGB profile. ColorMunki can do that although it'll default to CMYK unless you override that...

  • Printer Profiles not showing in Print Dialog

I cannot seem to see the custom Printer Profiles I have for certain papersin the Print Dialog.
I have added the Print Profiles to Library > Application Support > Adobe > Color > Profiles (and also in Recommended)
But in the Print Dialog under Colour Management > Photoshop Handles Colour > Print Profile - they are not showing. I have done things like restarting Photoshop and converting the image to CMYK from RGB.
I can see the profiles in the Proofing menu and am able to select them.
Any ideas as without using the profiles my colour management is completely off kilter.
Also, can I confirm that I am putting the printer profiles in the correct folder?

Thanks for your response JJMack. I've just found out the problem. It seems that by putting the profiles in the  > Recommended folder as well as in the > Profiles folder this seems to have disabled the profiles from displaying in the print dialog.
I'm not sure why but they are displaying fine now.
I'm new to this forum and I wonder if you know if there is a right place or method for sharing this information as I have spent the best part of two hours this afternoon wrestling with this?

  • Epson 9880 printer drivers not displaying

Hi. I'm using LR4 current version on a Lion machine (also current version) - IMAC 27"  (also current version) with an Epson 9880 printer. Currently trying this with the Lion driver and version 6.1.2 Epson profiles. I've also tried this with the most recent Snow Leopard driver with the same results. The profiles are not showing up in the "other" dialog within LR4. They do show up in printer setup. I also have a 4800 here and that is working fine. I notice that the Color Sync utility is not displaying them. I've tried downloading and reinstalling, restarting, etc. - no change. I don't recall this being a problem with LR3.
I have been using the Snow Leopard profiles because of the problems associated with the shaded color/BW print dialog in the Lion printer dialogs, for what that's worth, and I thought everything was fine but now, this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Chris Hutcheson

I discovered the solution to the problem in the Photoshop forum, here - http://forums.adobe.com/message/4477066 - same results in Lightroom - problem solved. I'm wondering, though, whether there is any advantage going to the Epson Lion printer driver as opposed to the Snow Leopard one. It seems the Snow Leopard one has more functionality as far as selection of accucolour vs. B& W, but then again, wouldn't it make as much sense to simply print my black and white documents managed by Lightroom, without paying attention the print dialog settings (in Lion, that is, where I can't do anything unless I let the printer manage colours)? Particularly since I use non Epson paper a lot of the time?
    Thanks for any advice...
    Cheers
    Chris

  • Elements 6 Printer Profile not showing up on Elements 10 when I go to Print

A third party created a printer profile that I successfully used on Elements 6. However that Printer Profile is not functioning with Elements 10. I would definitely like that Printer Profile to operate when I print on Elements 10. What to do to accomplish that goal? That's the overview. Here's the details: In Elements 10, I press Print. then Change Settings. Then Print Quality (Listed as default 720dpi,terrible print quality). Press Change. That takes me to Epson Stylus 3800 Properties. That box has the right Printer Profile I used in Elements 6. I press OK to get it embedded in Elements 10, but it won't embed and I'm stuck with the 720dpi default. Can someone help with this enigma? I thank you in advance for your time, expertise and willingness to help me!

  • Epson 3800 printer profiles not showing up in Photoshop 3 and 5

When I try to print to my Epson PRO 3800, asking Photoshop to handle colors, this printer profiles are not available. I have this printer for years and have always used PS CS3 to print (and handle colors). Now I have PS CS5 but continue to use 3 for printing to the 3800, because the Epson profiles disppeared from CS5. Now they have disappeared from CS3 too. Any advices?

  • Printer profiles not recognised in Photoshop CS6 print dialogue

Note that the Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat print dialogues see all my (custom) printer profiles.
Even Photoshop sees them in the Apply Profile and Convert to Profile dialogues: just not when trying to print.
    Is this a known problem?

Thanks, Jeff. This issue goes far beyond Adobe. I'm trying to resolve colorspace problems that get even more confusing when there are multiple web pages or other documents at multiple websites, including software companies and camera companies that have conflicting information for the same thing. I don't want to add something else into the mix that may make things worse. Unless the user can have the settings that they know worked on their device to rely on as a point of reference to make controlled changes to accommodate a software change, it's like taking two handfulls of M&Ms to represent various colorspaces in three places in a program and using trial and error to figure out which two or three colors to use and in which order. I think of this as informative dialog and not venting.
Update: After burning through another color ink cartridge and 20 more sheets of Kodak glossy photo paper, I managed to come up with a combination of profiles and colorspaces that are acceptable with the Kodak ESP9 printer in PS CS6. While Adobe RGB should work from the Nikon D7000 JPEG for a larger color gamut, with the Kodak printer, the colors were dull. Went back to sRGB in the camera and sRGB IEC61966-2.1 for the working RGB profile. In this printer, color management cannot be disabled in the printer itself, so I selected Adobe RGB. In the PS Print Settings Color Management, PS Manages Colors,  and the Printer Profile is Beta RGB (Adobe RGB is not an available choice). After increasing the photo brightness to about +20, the contrast slightly, and increasing the shadows setting to bring out the shadowed areas somewhat, the printed photo is a close match to the on-screen image on the calibrated LED monitor. When I tried CIE RGB, the colors were more saturated but had too much blue. Maybe this will help others.

  • Printer profile not there and brings into preview

When I go to print, the printer profile for my Epson is not in the list. I know it's not on the computer, why is it not on the CS5 list?
Then I click print and it print the image into Preview instead of printing on the epson. Why is that? thanks!

Be sure to look HARD DRIVE>Library>Color Sync>Profiles folder and not the USER>Library>Color Sync>Profiles.
That tripped me up a bit a few weeks back.
That's what the convention dot slash ./ means, the Root Level, as opposed to the tilde ~ which stands for the User Library.

  • Print profile not in illustrator, but works in photoshop - CS5

I'm sure I'm just missing a checkbox somewhere, but I can't seem to find it and no one else seems to be asking the question.
This print profile works great for me in both illustrator and photoshop. My coworker came over with a purplish print so I went over to show him how to use the profile.
I shut down illustrator, started it back up and loaded the file. Hit print, and went to color management > Printer Profile: ...but the profile wasn't there. In fact, only about half of the installed profiles are there.
I went to his photoshop and the profiles all show up as they should. I verified the profile is in the correct place, same as the help file says for windows 7.
It works on some of our computers, but not on this one. The only explaination I can come up with is he's checked a setting somewhere that disables certain profiles, or maybe disables the ability to add new ones...just in illustrator.
Any help on this? I'm stumped.

Doesn't look like mike actually read much of the problem there. That's actually for a mac, I mentioned I was able to load the profiles, and syncronizing color settings doesn't change the profiles available it just makes it so all the software treat the profiles in the same way. I did learn something though.
I didn't know that only certain profiles show up though. That's interesting. I have the same printer installed 3 ways. Direct through IP address using the post script driver, through our server using the PS driver, and direct with PCL6. All of them allow me to choose the profile. My coworker only had it installed through the server as PCL6 (not really what he wanted anyway, but he didn't know it).
So I quick installed the PS driver through the server and that one works fine. His other driver still doesn't. So that's odd, but thank you. Your comment lead me to the correct solution.

  • Printer Properties not displaying all settings.

The Printer properties in Adobe Reader for Linux do not display all the available preferences for a given printer driver- and you are unable to edit the Printer Command in the Printer Properties window to get around this. This combo of limitations renders it useless in our environment.
We have a Savin C6055 printer in a multi-tenant facility. Each print job needs User Code associated with it for accounting purposes. The CUPS drivers for Savin support this quite nicely and other Linux apps (Evince, OpenOffice, etc.) allow you to access this setting in the print dialog. Adobe Reader does not.
    This is a problem.

    Hi Patrick,
This is something we're planning to fix in our upcoming major release of the Reader. To know about upcoming releases of the reader on Unix, stay tuned to the reader blog at http://blogs.adobe.com/acroread

  • Printer does not display in System Preferences

I've got a simple setup, which is still in testing (no production clients yet).
Server: Mac OS 10.9.1 with Server 3.0.2 . Self signed trust certificate and enrollment certificates. 3rd party SSL cert for web. I've tried this with 10.8.5/2.2.1 as well with no success there either.
    Client: Mac OS 10.9.1
I configured a printer on my server through System Preferences with these settings:
    Printer Type : IP
    address: servername.mydomain.edu
    Queue: MyPrinter2000
    Name: MyPrinter2000
First of all, Profile Manager 2 was horrendous. I would not recommend using it at all. I could not get consistent profile deployments at all. Moving on...
I add a profile in Profile Manager that is associated to my client. I add some settings to try out including energy savings, login items, login window and some others. For the printer setting, I add the printer that is installed on my server. I allow users to manage the printer list, allow local printers, and save the setting.
The profile deploys right away, and on my test machine, I can see that the printer should be installed when reading the profile in System Preferences. In the Print & Scan menu, however, no printers are displayed whatsoever. I navigate to http://localhost:631 on this same client, and can see the printer there with the correct servername, queue, and driver. I am able to print a test page via that interface successfully.
I have tried installing the printer on the server as shared and not shared. I've removed all profiles and started from scratch with just one profile with just one printer added. Still nothing. I can't figure out why the printer seems to get deployed when I look at the web CUPS interface on the test machine, but System Preferences doesn't show anything.

  • Mobile (phone & tablet) screen profiles not displaying correctly

    RoboHelp 11 on a Windows 7 machine
I have a small project that I put down in August and just picked up again today. The only changes I made today were a background color in the selected layout and adding browsers to the screen profiles (desktop, mobile, phone). I also changed the pixel sizes of aforementioned screen profiles, and saved, but ultimately thought better of it and changed them back. I don't know if that would have made any difference to this problem. (When I made the size changes RH told me to update the media queries, but I'm not using any... or at least none came up in the Manage Media Queries functionality.)
Then I re-generated the output, but the tablet and phone screen sizes are no longer displaying properly when I tested by changing the size of my desktop browser--there is a rather large "dead zone" browser size in which no content is displayed at all (which makes it almost seem like the "responsive" part of the output doesn't work), the internal navigation (forward and back buttons, and bar) is shoved up in the header bar, and no browser horizontal scroll bar appears so that I can scroll to see the edge of wide images. I mainly use IE but this occurred in Firefox and Chrome as well. The desktop display seems to work fine. (I'm so sorry I don't have screenshots now--I can provide some if needed.)
I wondered if this had something to do with my chosen "template" but a brand new project that used that same one (Theme1_Standard) didn't have any problems. Now, I also noticed that the template seems to have changed since I was last in Robohelp, because the unchanged template preview today was definitely not the same as the template from August. The Readme for the latest patch didn't mention anything that I thought seemed to be related.
Like I said, all I changed were a color, the screen profile browsers, and the screen profile sizes which I later discarded. I am completely at a loss as to what caused this and how to fix it. I feel like a complete dolt because it seems to be related to something I *DID* but retracing my steps has yielded nothing.
    Thank you!
    UPDATE
Still having this issue, but in poking around I discovered that some of the program files on my local machine were updated in mid-September (when it looks like the latest patch's ReadMe file was installed on my computer) and others were updated mid-October (the first time I was in RH since mid-August, though I didn't generate anything then). I don't know if this means anything, but to me it looks mildly suspicious. Thx.

    Screenshots:
Internal navigation shoved up into the header bar (yellow on top of black, color changed here just to show this):
In tablet size, an extra wide image does not cause a horizontal scrollbar to appear anywhere at the bottom of the browser to scroll to the right side of the image (sorry this one is hard to see, but the image does go off to the right side of the screen):
    Dead zone:
Content reappears at a much smaller size and a much larger size, but the top/bottom/and right-side text wrap is off:
(Again, above, notice no horizontal scroll bar despite the extra wide image.)
It may be of note that I can use a different template (e.g. Theme2_Government) and I don't have such problems. I guess this means there's something wrong with the template/layout in this project. Am I just going to have to reconstruct it?
    Thanks,
    S

  • Quadtone ICC print profiles not found in CS6

I have several ICC profiles installed in the Colorsync>Profiles folder. They are QTR ICC profles for B+W printing. CS5 sees these profiles when assining  custom profle for  soft profing and when choosing a profile for printing.
CS6 finds the profles in the pulldown window only when soft profing. They are missing from the list of profiles in the printing menu. If CS5 can find them why not CS6. Are hey in a diferent location?

I am trying to get to the bottom of some differences between photoshop 5 & 6. This post allows me to bring up my previous beta post:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4291149#4291149
I am curious to know if there are some new rules in CS6 with sending printing through the colorsync (apple) pipeline.
The above image shows that photoshop may be calling on colorsync to find attached profiles. My 9880 has no attached profiles by my other printed had this in the color sync area. It seems to me there is a lock down on the profiles to be used. This at least is my current standing interpretation based on other forums reading.
But the other question is the profiles below the line. Where are they stored and where can I add my custom profiles to that list. Based on my previous beta post, I still believe there is a different policy on how adobe works in the printing pipeline. Ive been printing fine art large format prints for about 4.5 years always using photoshop as the color handler. It seems now the big boys at apple are trying to further their control by looping this through colorsync (if im correct).
I know the last post on the beta page, I was asked to provide the profiles in question:
    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8vl1ql6dypxngn5/NiMrBSLiO1
Those are my profiles I am using now. My machine is the latest Mac OS and latest epson 9880 drivers.
Ill supply any more information to get to the bottom of this strange issue.

  • Form is displayed while printed, but not displayed on screen (print preview)

    Dear all,
We use an Adobe Form to visualise our invoices ... When we print an invoice directly to the printer, everything looks ok and all forms are displayed correctly ... But when we try to watch the same invoice on screen (print preview), we do not see the subform ...
The property "presence" of the specified subform is "visible", so this is probably not the problem ?
Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be ?
    Thanks in advance !
