Printer queries.

Hi everyone. My Canon MP130 printer is connected to my iMac. It used to be on my old PC, on my PC I used to be able to specify what quality print I want. Such as high quality, photo, low quality, grayscale etc. On the iMac however I can only print normally. Do I need to install more drivers? Or do I just need to find the correct options. If I do need new drivers, where can I get them?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
Assuming you have the latest driver:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDet ailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=10442
Go File > Print> . Ensure you have the MP130 selected then choose "Quality and Media" from the menu in the centre of the window. Choose "Detail Setting" and then move the slider.

  • Printing queries in prepared statement

I have a created a prepared statement. When I execute the query I get an error stating that the SQL isn't correct. I would therefore like to print out the statement so I can see what it looks like. Here is what my code is doing.
Create a query string with question marks.
Hand that string off to the preparedStatement constructor.
Modify that string using setString() One for every question mark.
Send the query off by calling executeQuery()
All I want to do is print out what the statement now looks like after the setStrings() are called.
    Thanks,
    -KAP

That's not a featured guaranteed by the JDBC specification, and because of the way PreparedStatement really works, it can't be.
You see, PreparedStatement usually does not do string replacement into your SQL; the SQL passed to the database still has the ?s in it and the values are bound later, in the database, to a compiled object that is no longer text.
A few drivers will give you back the SQL statement if you apply toString() on the PreparedStatement, and maybe even given you the current values of the bind variables, but most won't.
In fact, normally when you get have invalid SQL with a PreparedStatement, the SQLException is thrown on the prepareStatement method, before the set methods are called; if they're not, then you're probably trying to do an invalid implicit data type conversion. In other words, at least some of the columns in your database are not of character type, and the database is trying to convert your strings to the other type (using its rules, which may be different from Java's rules and may be different from another database's rules), and failing.

  • Printer Setup

    Hello,
I have installed Solaris 8 onto an Intel box.
Now I would like to set up printing.
In my case, the printer (HP LaserJet 4 Plus) is connected to a LAN based HP print server.
How do I set up the Solaris box to print to this printer.
If there is an NT box controlling the print queue how does that come play.
    Thanks
    Chris Hax

documents how to add a network printer to a solaris box.
Works for HP laserjets (postscript recommended for unix)
and a network card installed in the printer.
If the NT box controlls the print quere and has the NT
unix print server software installed, you probably just
have to setup the solaris boxes as network print clients:

  • Reporting agent functions

can any body xplain how to schedule tasks thru "reporting agent". pls xplain in detailed steps.

    Hi,
The functions of the reporting agent are triggered by Information Broadcasting.
The Reporting Agent was not developed any further. It was removed from the current version of the Data Warehousing Workbench. You can now only reach the Reporting Agent using transaction code REPORTING_AGENT.
    Effects on the Dataset
A migration of Reporting Agent settings and Reporting Agent packages by broadcast settings is not planned.
No more new developments are being made for the Reporting Agent. The Reporting Agent functions are now covered by Information Broadcasting, SAP NetWeaver Portal and the Alert Framework. The Reporting Agent has been removed from the Data Warehousing Workbench. You can still maintain the Reporting Agent settings using the REPORTING_AGENT transaction. These settings can be maintained for queries and Web templates from SAP BW 3.x only.
    General Practices with Migration
The system does not support the migration of Reporting Agent settings for information broadcasting.
The Reporting Agent is a tool used to schedule reporting functions in the background.
    The following functions are available:
    ·        Evaluating exceptions
    ·        Printing queries
    ·        Pre-calculating Web templates
    ·        Pre-calculating characteristic variables of type pre-calculated value sets
    ·        Pre-calculation of queries for Crystal reports
    ·        Managing bookmarks
Note that you can only use the Reporting Agent if you are working with queries and Web templates in the SAP BW 3.x format.
As of SAP NetWeaver 2004s, the Reporting Agent functions are covered by Information Broadcasting. We recommend that you use Information Broadcasting instead of the Reporting Agent.
For more information, see Information Broadcasting.
    Use
           1.      You make settings for the specified reporting functions.
           2.      You assign the individual settings to scheduling packages for background processing.
           3.      You schedule scheduling packages as a job or within a process chain.
The last two points do not apply to managing bookmarks.
    Structure
The Reporting Agent interfaces are made up of two tree structures in the functional areas Exceptions, Print, Web Templates, and Value Sets.
    ·         The left-hand tree gives you an overview of the available objects as well as the settings that have already been made. To give you a better overview, you can filter according to queries with settings in the Exceptions and Print functions.
    ·         The right-hand tree gives you an overview of the scheduling package and manages the background processing.
In the Bookmarks functional area, the Reporting Agent scheduler interfaces are made up of a single tree structure.
    Integration
The following graphic gives an overview of the different functional areas for the Report Agent and its integration:
    See also:
Defining Exceptions Settings and Exception Reporting
    Defining the Print Setting
    Defining the Web Template Setting
    Defining the Value Set Setting
    Defining Crystal Reports Query Settings
    Managing Bookmarks
You have defined and actively saved one or more Reporting Agent settings.
You have created one or more scheduling packages.
    Procedure
Select the setting that you want to schedule in the left Reporting Agent Settings tree in the Reporting Agent Scheduler.
Use drag and drop to assign the setting to the corresponding scheduling package in the right-hand tree.
If the selected Reporting Agent setting from the Exceptions or Print function areas relates to a query with variables, you must select a variant of the query so that the scheduling package can be scheduled.
You are in the view  Change in the right-hand tree of the Reporting Agent Scheduler. From the scheduling package context menu, choose Assign Variants The Variant Catalog. dialog window appears.
Select the variant you want and choose  Select. The system adds the selected variants in the right tree in the Reporting Agent Scheduler in the Variant column.
If you want to create a new variant for the required query or if you want to change variants already created, you have the option to process the variants in both the left and right-hand tree in the Reporting Agent Scheduler.
Select Maintain Variants via the context menu of the Reporting Agent setting. You the see a screen on which you can process the variants for the selected query ( Create,  Display,  Change).
Select the required variants as described above.
    Choose Next.
You use this function to monitor and change the time and date settings on the mobile device.
    Prerequisites
You have assigned the mobile device to a particular time zone.
The synchronization service has been configured.
    Features
    You have the following options:
    Parameters for TIME_AGENT
    Parameters
    Description
    Possible Values
    AGENT_MODE
    Activate or deactivate monitoring
    ON, OFF
    AGENT_HISTORY
Activate and deactivate the log function for the time and date setting
    TRUE, FALSE
    AGENT_HISTORY_INTERVAL
Define intervals for logging (in minutes)
    AGENT_REPORT_ON_FIRST_CYCLE
    Or AGENT_REPORT_ON_SECOND_CYCLE
Define synchronization cycle for sending data if the device is used by multiple users.
Set at least one of the parameters.
    TRUE, FALSE
    AGENT_TRIGGER_ON_SYNC_COUNT
    Or
Define the number of synchronization cycles run before data is sent to server
    Any integer
    0 – Never
    1 – With every synchronization
2 – With every second synchronization
    AGENT_TRIGGER_ON_SYNC_INTERVAL
    and AGENT_TRIGGER_ON_SYNC_INTERVALTYPE
Determine the intervals (type and interval) with which the data is sent to server
    Interval type:
    M – Minutes
    H – Hours
    D – Days
    Interval:
    Any integer
    0 – Never
1 – In intervals of one minute, one hour, one day.
    Activities
You define the values for the parameters in a parameter set (see Defining the Parameter Sets). Use the TIME_AGENT type to monitor the time and date settings.

  • How to mass print a report with multiple queries?

    Dear All,
i want to precalclate a report (which includes 4 queries) to pdf for printing. Because i have to print it for all profitcenter (~200), i want to use the filter navigation.
Because this isn't possible for reports, i inserted my report using a report item to a web template.
When i call the web template direct, everything works fine, but if i precalculate the web template using the bex broadcaster, only one query is parameterized. The second one seems to use the global variant (the sum of all profitcenter).
Any Idea? Do i have to change an export web template and add some data provider? I am not absolutely sure which is the right export template for an report in a web template...
    Thanks in advance,
    Thomas

  • Queries regarding Printing in BIP

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where the reports generated in BI Publisher needs to be directly send to the printer. The BIP is integrated to an application and we use BIP only for generting the PDF and excel reports.
I am trying to understand how the printing works in BIP and have a few queries regarding them. Listed below
    1) The code that invokes the print functionality, is it something that resides on the server which hosts BIP?, or is it more a client side code (application that calls BIP)?
    2) Do I have explicitly set my printer properties like host name , port #..etc in the code? I saw it being done in the documentation
    ------------From BIP Documentation -------------------------
    // set IPP printer host
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.IPP_HOST, "myhost");
    // set IPP printer port
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.IPP_PORT, "631");
    // set IPP printer name
    req.addProperty(DeliveryPropertyDefinitions.IPP_PRINTER_NAME,
    "/printers/myprinter");
    3) Do we need to know the printer details of each user prior to printing?
    4) If the userbase is quite large, how can we set the printer properties for each individual users?. Is this a property set for each individual user?
    5) Can we extract the printer details from a client machine and send it across to BIP for it to set the property and do the printing?.
Any thoughts ideas..and answers are welcome
    Thnx in advance
    Xs

    Hi Rajeshree,
This is a new doc management feature of SRM 5.0.
You can now create versions, lock the document for local modification (check-in/out).
    This requires an applet.
You can de-activate it in SPRO.

  • Printing multiple queries data

I am calling a report A from report B. Report A has multiple queries that are not linked. When I run report A directly it prints the data from both the queries just fine. However, when I call it from report B, it is only printing data for the 2nd query. Any ideas why this is happening?

  • Printing on Web - web template with multiple queries

    Hi.
Trying to print to PDF from the Web, when I have more than 1 query in the web template, using Tabs.
When the report has been run, if I select the tab for report A and then Print, I need report A to be printed. Similarly, if I have selected the tab for report B I expect report B to be printed.
Is this possible without resorting to HTML coding direct? If so, can you tell me how, please? I have no problem printing single queries, the issue is how to print different reports without having several Print buttons. If it CAN only be done by HTML coding, could you send me some sample code please?
As well as offering points for useful answers, I can also offer my Word document where I have broken 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN in to its components, with screenshots... I have found it invaluable.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

The answer was to use the Tabstrip web item... although I still have to define a set of buttons for each tab, only one set is visible at a time, which is fine
