Xerox 5745 Printer Reboots at 75% when connected to Cisco 2960
Hi,
We are having a problem with our Xerox 5745 multifunction Printer...
This problem had been forwarded to Xerox, but they claim that a problem was caused by a power surge on our Cisco router.
We are having a total of 8 CiscoCatalyst 2960 Series in our IT Communication rooms.
We are also having 2 Xerox 7120, 4 Xerox 5745, 6 HP5200 and 300 computers - PC (HP Desktop) and Laptop (Samsung).
Network : all connected to CISCO Catalyst 2960 Series
Printer Setup:
IP Address: Manual IP Assignment (DHCP Disabled)
PC Setup: TCP/IP –RAW on Port 9100 – SNMP Status ENABLED
The two machines has same firmware software and configuration settings.
one machine just been installed with latest firmware
Problem:
On 3 Xerox 5745 display panel shows: "Network Controller booting"
at 75% the system restart and go on again and again.
This happens when cables are connected to CISCO Catalyst 2660.
Testing done:
•1. No problem, Connecting directly to laptop using (crossover cable), accesss to printing is normal.
•2. No Problem, Using other switch - dLink (not CISCO Catalyst 2960), the printing is normal.
•3. Not work, changing ip address; disabling all protocol; changing speed to 10MBps.
•4. Not work, Switching to other port on CISCO Catalyst 2960.
•5. Not work, Re-starting the Cisco Catalyst 2960 s.
•6. Not work, Changing cables.
HELP! Please ...

Ferdinand,
at least you're not the only one who's experiencing this problem:
http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Hardware/Workcentre-5135-network-controller/td-p/5086
http://www.fixya.com/support/t556616-network_controller_unavailable (read the comments too!)
In case of your c2960 supports PoE, did you test to disable power inline (I know, PoE normally can't be the reason - but this is a really strange problem)?
What happens when you boot a printer without network connectivity (or with the dLink) to 100% and connect it after that to the c2960 switch?

  • Internet stopped working when connected to Cisco VPN

    Hi,
I have configured IPSec (Ikev1) Remote access VPN in ASA 5520, VPN is connecting properly and i am able to access all internal resources but Internet is not working when connected to VPN. I have investigated on this and found problem with the default gateway, i am getting ddefault gateway duringVPN connection. I am surprised in ASA there is no default gateway configured for remote VPN IP pool then how remote clients can get default gateway.
I am describing my problem in below given image Please help me to shootout it.
    Thanks in advanve.

    Hi,
The top configurations is specified to Tunnel All traffic as you can see from the "split-tunnel-policy tunneall". In this case the Split Tunnel ACL is ignored to my understanding.
The bottom configuration is specified to use Split Tunnel but I cant see the ACL specified there.
To my understanding you should be seeing routes on your actual computers routing table for the networks that are reached through the VPN.
On a Windows machine you can open the command prompt and issue the command "route print" to view the routes
Here is an example when I am connected to one Split Tunnel VPN (click to enlarge)
To my understanding there is no default gateway in the virtual VPN interface configurations as the host forward all the traffic that needs to be tunneled to the actual virtual interface and from there on in it heads through the VPN Connection.
Here is an example what the VPN Client Statistics/Route Details tells me
Both Internet and the remote network/host behind the VPN connection can be reached.
What does the above window show for you in your VPN Client when active?

  • Printer crashes with 0xB845D7DC when connect to UPC Ubee EVW3226 cable modem/router

Printer: HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
    SN: [Personal Information Removed]
    PN: CM750A
    FW: CKP5CN1516AR
When try to connect to the wireless router (DHCP enabled), the printer LCD display starts to flash and for a second it displays B845D7DC.
After this, the printer requests a reset and it will restart with wireless disabled.
I have a cable modem with wireless router from my TV cable provider UPC called UPC Ubee EVW3226.
I tried to connect the printer to the router using WPS button and providing the password. In both cases I have the same behavior.
I have a dozen of other wireless devices at home that connect without any problem to the router. But not the printer.
Please let me know what other information will be good for you to solve the issue. Or please provide a workaround.

Welcome back to the HP Community , I read through your post about the error codes you are noticing on your Officejet 8600 Plus, amongst the unit requesting a reset when connecting the router. I wanted to share my own suggestions with you that may help. If you find the issue unresolved, contact HP directly afterwards to see about your next printer options with them. 1. Click this link and try a firmware update: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n FirmwareFM available at the moment is CLP1CN1516AR 2. Power reset the printer and make sure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power. Turn the printer on.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the unit.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.   If you need to reach HP, here is their contact information:Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

  • Sfp issue to connect to cisco 2960

We bought two Cisco 2960-48TC-L, I have issue with gi0/1 and 0/2. the sfp won't stick into the port firmly, you have to press the it in order to get the light, try with second 2960, the same result, yet, tried some other 2960 we got few month ago, it works fine, by the way, these 2 cisco 2960 made in Oct,08, I suspect the gi0/1 and 0/2 is defective, anyone has any suggestion?

Once you insert the SFP's the switches should detect and can be seen from the sh int status command
If they are not detecting, then i would suggest you raise a case with cisco and get RMA

  • Printing thru SAP : Problem when connecting thru a dial-up connection.

    Dear All,
We are on SAP R/3 4.7 Enterprise with Oracle and AIX. We have our C&F agents who dial-up to our central SAP server thru a broadband connection. These people generate the excise challans and invoices and take a print out. We have configured the printers as frontend printers (access method is F ), since we dont have a fixed IP from the hosts which are connecting to SAP servers. The problem we are facing is that whenever there is a disconnect from a particular location the print spool work process just 'hangs' and eventhough other spool work processes are free the printing just halts. We are unable to kill the work process either thru SAP or at the OS level ( we have AIX ). If you have any inputs on this kindly let me know. The problem is severe since we have no option but to restart the application servers. In case you have any other solution, i could try.
    Awaiting your reply.

    Shrinivas Shukla

    hi all,
when that happens, please try to check the locked entries in sm12 and try to release them. then delete in sp01.
let me know if this works.

  • Cannot see Airport Express when connected to Cisco corporate wireless - used to work, stopped cooperating recently

I have had an Airport Express at my office for several years to stream iTunes. It has worked fine, including through an upgrade to a new Cisco wireless network. Then it just stopped. I have reset, and then purchased a new AE with updated firmware. I have a green light, and when I connect via an ethernet cable I am getting all green lights, and can see that I have a valid IP address on the network, the router address is correct and the DNS servers appear to be correct. I still cannot see the AE on any Apple device connected to the wireless network....... any ideas? Is this connected to any recent IOS updates? Thanks for any insights......

  • RV042G fails to work with Public Wan IP when connected to Cisco SG300

Am using a RV042G with a Fiber Optic connection terminated on WAN1 It was working fine untill received a new IP pool . When we configure with the ip on wan 1 and connect the SG300 the WAN Status shows connected but no internet connection. The wan ip doesnt work. If i replace the RV042G with a Netgear Firewall router The connection works fine with the WAN IP.
The network connection is very simple. What is that is not letting RV042G work with SG300?

Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply.
Yes when I connect a computer directly to the RV042G it works fine but as I connect back the SG300 to one of the ports the Internet goes down.
The SG300 is not working on Layer 3.
I tried Different ports but the same result.
This RV042G was working fine with the fiber optic line, We just requested the ISP to increase the Public IP pool and they Gave us New IP's. Nothing changed Just set the WAN1 to one of the new IP and it fails to work if connected with the switch
I removed the switch and connected the RVS4000 directly to RV42G and the users of RVS4000 have no issues. Not a single thing has been changed Just the new IP On wan.
I have upgraded the router, rest  and configured internet settings i.e Changed wan IP but no go.
    Thanks Sachin

LACP / 802.3ad is required to aggrigate a cisco to a non cisco switch, is there any issues connecting a Cisco 2960 to a Alteon Switch.

There should be none as long as alteon support LaCP, 2960 certainly do. for configuration guide info, have a look at the following:

  • DHCP Issue on Cisco 2960

I have an device that use Multicast and is unable to aquire an ip address when connected to a 2960 switch. I have a 3560 switch that is configured with the DHCP scope. We have DHCP pool configured. layer 2, and layer 3 switch's.
Basically what’s happing  is that if we connect the device to the switch it does not get a DHCP address however if we apply a static address it works.  Now I have duplicated this in the lab and the everything works fine, the only difference is that I have a different IOS on my Lab switch.  The only thing i can think of is the IOS.
    Any help would be appreciated.
The IOS on the 2960 is flash:c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-55.SE7.

    Hi Anil,
I need to know the mac-address of the client as i see two different DHCP Requests from:
    0100.237d.14b5
    and
    0198.fe94.dcd6
Moreover i see only one DHCP pool on the layer 3 switch:
    ip dhcp pool
    network 10.65.117.0 255.255.255.0
    dns-server 198.6.1.122 198.6.1.142 8.8.8.8
    default-router 10.65.117.1
And as you said that it should pick IP address from vlan2, but i dont see any pool for vlan2 on the contrary you did mention that if you connect your laptop on that port it does pick IP address from vlan 2. its actually very weird.
If possible collect the wireshark captures from machine interface for more debugging. i want to see the DHCP process. and let me know if you need any help in collecting captures

  • My HP LaserJet CM1415fnw Printer keeps rebooting when connected to my ethernet router.

I bought my HP Laserjet CM1415fnw Color printer in 2013 (don't remember the exact date). The CM1415fnw printer is plugged into its own AC power outlet and has been connected to a NETGEAR Nighthawk router for the past 2 years. My network and computers have not changed in the past 3 years. About a month ago, July of 2015, the printer started rebooter itself about every few minutes. These are the things that I have tried: 1. I turned off the printer for several minutes via the power off switch located on the side of the printer. This failed to solve my reboot issue.2. I turned off the printer for over night via the power off switch located on the side of the printer. This failed to solve my reboot issue.3. I unplugged the printer from the AC power outlet for several minutes and over night. printer. This failed to solve my reboot issue.4. I turned off the printer setting "WS-Discovery" with no success. It continued to reboot.5. I turned off the printer and Unplugged the ethernet cable and phone line cable from the printer. I then turned it on. Itstayed on for hours without rebooting. I plugged the ethernet cable and it continued to stay on without rebooting for over an hour. I then plugged in the phone line cable and within a minute the printer starting rebooting again. I unplugged the phone line cable again and the printer stopped rebooting. My wife and I have been printing happily. Problem solve! NO! This past week, on July 27 2015, the printer started rebooting again. I went through the same steps above except this time whenever plugging in the ethernet cable, within and few minutes the printer would start its rebooting. Sometime between reboots it would stay up long enough to print a job. Other things that I have tried: 1. I connected the printer directly to my workstation computer via the USB port and plugged in the phone line cable. This work great for hours. I could print jobs. No rebooting. It is just not the solution the I need. I need a network printer.2. I connected the printer directly to my laptop ethernet port with phone cable connected. This worked also. So while in this configuration I took the opportunity to upgrade the Firmware from date 20120216 to 20140616. 3. I reconnected the printer to my network router and the printer started rebooting again within a few minutes. I did notice that in between reboots, with the phone line cable plugged in, anytime a phone call came in the printer immediately rebooted. I have mulitple home devices that rely on network connectivity to this printer. SO, right now this printer is offline toeveryone. I need to get this problem resolved ASAP.  I have a temporary work around item #6. But, I need a real solution. Can someone please help. My Configuration: HP LaserJet CM1415fnwFormatter Number: QD51YOP
    Serial Number: CNH8C9KRHB
    Service ID: 21334
    FIrmware Datecode: 20140616
    Telcom Version: 04-015-001
    Controller NUmber: 4

I wish to thank you davidzuts and muj851 for your quick response and help in this issue. I will give you the short story of my troubleshooting efforts and solution. I was able to isolate the printer reboot to my wife's computer located in another part of the house. Anytime that I connected her computer the the network the printer would start rebooting within a minute. I then uninstalled all HP printer software. I then reconnected her computer to the network. Within a minute the printer went into reboot mode. After a few install and uninstall of the HP printer soffware and drivers I took notice that the printer device for my printer still appeared after uninstalling the software and drivers. I clicked on the printer device and manually removed it. After rebooting the computer within a few minutes there was a system message stating that the device driver was being install. Reinstalling the Printer software and drivers create a new instance of the CM1415FNW Printer. Uninstalling removed all but the orignal printer device. Connected the network caused the printer to reboot. So, looked at the printer queue and found that there was a document in the queue waiting to be printed. The status of the printer showed that the document was ready for print but then the printer would reboot and the status would appear as ERROR Printing. I cancelled the print job and the document in the queue was removed. I then removed the Printer Device. When I connected my wife's computer to the network the printer did not reboot. I have reinstatlled HP Printer software for the CM1415FNW printer and everything has been working fine for the past two days. A conversation with my wife uncovered that the day all of the issues with the printer started she attempted to print a Barnes and Nobles discount coupon. Something with the printer formating codes or the B&N coupon was causing the printer to reboot. The next time this happens I will know to check the print queue.

  • Printer start rebooting in endless sequence, when connecting to Wifi network.

Suddenly my printer does following procedure:1) action taken: switch on with button => print start booting.2) somethimes message on display "incorrecte uitschakeling" (= Dutch), tanslated ' incorrect switch-off', plus text "use button to switch-off in order to avoid damage".3a) when not switched off, on the moment the printer is making contact with wifi modem, than suddenly the printer switched-off and starts rebooting.3b) when switch-off by button, the printer switched off normally. When the wifi modem is switched off, the printer starts up. and only via USB cable van you do a print. With the tool HP Configuration assist, I tried to re-program for connecting an other wifi modem. That was succesfull, but when this wifi modem is on, the same problem occurs again. ( note: both modems are working fine, not damaged). To exclude, reseting of de modems has also been done. Switching off/on the wifi on the printer will also not help or reset the printer.Reset action, as descibed in this forum, only helped  bit, when the problem started, I could not stop the endless sequence of starting-up and rebooting. And this reset-action helped a bit. From my embedded firmware background on TV's: I expect that kind of code-partition has been damaged, related to this behaviour.Mechanics are OK, printer is not extreme used.Printer is 1,5 year in use without anny issue and accessed via Wifi. Can you help me?- Is it possible to reset the printer to real original factory settings? When useng the factory settings, still wifi settings remain in the printer.- Is it possible to re-flasch the printer via USB stick, when you support me on this? Best regards, Robin

Hi , I am glad to hear you now have a stable start up. I'd be happy to help you work towards a solution regarding the wireless issue. I would like to use wireless direct to eliminate the router as being a potential cause. HP wireless direct is a new feature that allows your Wi-Fi capable devices (for example: smart phones, tablets, or computers) to make a wireless network connection directly to your printer without using a wireless router or access point. - Source
On the front panel of the printer, please access the Wireless Menu and go to Wireless Direct, you can not turn this option us with or with out security, which ever you prefer. Keep in mind, I am not suggesting you use this option as solution, I am merely trying to identify the issue. Once you have the printers network enabled, you can connect your device to it and try printing/scanning. What I mean by connect your device is, open the available networks on your Mac and choose the network that represents your printer, the name will be some variation of the printer name. If this works, the issue must be related to the connection between the printer and the router, if it doesn't work I suspect the problem is with in the printers wireless radio or printer firmware. Please let me know and we can proceed from there.

  • MSI MS-6390LE-L reboots when connecting the internet

Built a new system with the MSI  MS-6390LE-L motherboard based on the KM266 chipset and Athlon CPU. It is rebooting when connecting to the internet (installed a SonicBlue Supra PCI modem). Now I read the small print burried in the specs that states: Must use proprietary PCI Modem card with PCTEL solution.
However there is no listing of modems on your site that will work! Does any  brand and model PC-Tel chipset modem work, if not then do any CNR modems work?

  • My hp deskjet 1510 series does not print when connected to my hplap top (windows Vista),

My hp deskjet 1510 series does not print when connected to my hp lap top (windows Vista), it says the printer is not active, although it is default printer, connected and on. However, it does work when connected to the (also HP) lap top (windows 8) of my husband.  I did everything the hp print and scan doctor advised and also what I could find at HP support (like switch of fire walls, reinstall everything, check printpooler ec etc)... it still does nothing except that I managed to print a diagnostic print which should give information about the condition,  but it only gives numbers and letters like : 11. SN = [Edited for Personal Information] Yr  12 PER = 05YR etc, that does not really help me :-). It won't print any testpages.  H E L P!!!

    Hello Elisabeeth,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to print using the Deskjet 1510. I will do my best to assist you! When you reinstall the HP software, did the installation state it was complete?
I would start off by following this HP document on 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print. From this document, please make sure you check the connection type and the ports.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Can't see printer or shares when connected via Internet Sharing

I recently switched from a 2006 to a 2008 Mac Pro. Rather than do a migration I simply took the hard drives from the old machine and put them in the new one.
I then upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I use Internet Sharing to share my Mac Pro's Ethernet connection via wifi, but the other Macs can't see the Mac Pro's printer or shares when connected in this way. They can access the internet. If I connect a machine via the LAN rather than Internet Sharing, the shares and printer are visible.
This worked fine on Lion on the old machine. Any ideas?

Seems that the issue is something to do with connecting via WPA2. When I set Internet Sharing to use WEP (by option-clicking the security menu), I'm then able to see the network shares and the printer.
