Printer refuses to send pictures to the computer. It wants to print them.
I have an HP Officejet Pro 8500A. I've been using the sd card reader to upload my pics to the desktop. As soon as I inserted the card, the printer would automatically open up on the monitor and ask me if I want to view, scan first or whatever. All of a sudden, it stopped doing all that. Now as soon as I insert the card, the printer is asking me if I want to view & print, create or reprint. It won't send the pictures on the card on to the computer.
What happened? How do I get it back to the way it was?

I see that you are experiencing issues uploading the pictures from the SD card to the computer. I would like to help you out today.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
If you have another SD card, try it also, just to rule out the SD card.
Power cycle the router, restart the computer and the printer.
Try uploading the pictures again.
Update the printer's firmware, if you are still having issues. HP Officejet Pro Firmware.
I would also download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. http://www.hp.com/go/tools
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)

In my albums, photo stream shows up with hundreds of pictures in it. I want to copy them to my computer and delete them, but I don't seem to know how to do this.

photo stream has no delete button anywhere that i can find.Photo stream photos will display a trash icon on the bottom right of your phone when you tap Select, then tap the photos to select them. The only photo albums on your phone that won't display a trash icon are photos that were originally synced to your phone from a computer using iTunes. Those photos can only be synced off again using iTunes.
If that's how these photos got on your phone and they are no longer on your computer, the only way to transfer them back to your computer is to use a 3rd party app such as PhotoSync. After transferring them to your computer you can delete them by creating an empty folder on your computer, then syncing this folder to your phone by selecting it on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.
If these photos really are in your my photo stream album and selecting them does not reveal a trash icon, then something is wrong with your phone and I suggest you back it up and restore it. -

I am on OS X and i am having problems sending pictures from the new pictures app via email. when i hit the sharing button i have the option to send via iMessage or Facebook but the email option is ghosted and can't be checked off. any suggestions?
I've resolved my problem now. It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos. Can't believe I missed that before.

I want to temporarily put pictures that I took from another camera that's on my desktop into my IPAD so I can carry it to another location and show off my pictures to friends and family?Connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you want more control over your photos (e.g. being able to sort them directly on the iPad and delete synced photos) then there are third-party photo apps such as Photo Manager Pro. -
Did some updates yesterday so decided to shut down my computer last night. This morning when I turned if back on it came up with a grey screen and a white box with a picture of the computer that says "setting up your Mac". It's been like this for an hour. The display box shows three check marks but it won't do anything. It's like its in a frozen mode

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard on both of my computers.
Some time ago, one crashed my computer and I had to reinstall the operating system and all applications.
After I had installed once Acrobat 9 Sdt in the computer, I wanted to update the software version 9.0.0 update to the same level as it was before the crash and that the other computer has version named 9.5.5.
The system for update from version 9.0.0 does not work at all. "There are no updates" listed in the dialog.

I partitioned a small drive for a windows program, and now the computer only wants to boot to Windows. How do I get back to Mac so I can have a choice of drives?
That doesn't sound good. It sounds like the power outage might have corrupted the partition for OS X. I would suggest booting from the Install DVD that came with your Mac while holding down the C key. Once you have selected the language start up Disk Utility from the pull down menu and repair the disk. Once you have done that then repair permissions also.

Is there a picture organization app that will let you move pictures around the way you want?
I need a recommendation for a picture organization app that will actually allow you to sort pictures the way you want and have them stay in that order.
The native app just doesn't allow me to sort my pictures into what ever sequence I want them in. Creating new folders is OK, finally being able to delete pictures from photo stream is great but I really want a finer level of control over the order in which my pictures are displayed. I looked at iPhoto but it has lots of reviews that say it doesn't do this so I am looking for an app that will give me control of my albums and will allow me to sort my pictures the way I want them.Hi Thom_D,
I have iPhoto and I have found that it works very well for me, organising photos etc. onto a pinboard type thing.

Are you using iCloud Photo Library? Then syncing is automatic and your mobile devices should be showing the same albums automatically.

I've got a iPod classic 80g I've got loads of pictures on there and I want to get them off. I've tried something where the files I get off come up as thumbnails which I can't open. Is there any way of getting them off and viewing them as a normal photo?

Why you can't redownload? Don't you have the Apple ID that used to download these apps?
You can "transfer purchaces" by right click on your iphone in iTunes but i guess you computer is not authorized and will ask you to authorize with Apple ID. Try it.
