All I know is that you have some kind of MacBook.

To each his own. I own Outlook, but I avoid using it like the plague. The only Mac mail software I have liked better than Apple's Mail was Qualcomm's Eudora, which is no longer updated or even available, won't run without Rosetta, and unfortunately never quite got the hang of IMAP.
Check out this post regarding this user's continuing use of Eudora on his Lion MacBook:
    Shield Eudora from Lion's Claws
A thousand thanks and kudos to Michael for this fabulously excellent thread!
Eudora's now happy in her new Snow Leopard VM home on my Lion ModBook!
Appears essential to keep resource-forked data off Lion disk:
First attempt with Eudora on SL VM was sharing data on Lion disk. Error messages on open like "can't find Table of Contents" suggest Lion ate resource forks crucial to Eudora.
Found success by transferring data from SL Mac to thumb drive, then mounted drive in SL VM so Lion couldn't touch.
While Michael warns against storing data in VM, appears there's no choice with Eudora. At least She's enthroned on a mirrored RAID.
There is Nothing like Eudora! (to tune of "There is Nothing Like a Dame" from South Pacific -- Oops! my gray hair is showing!)
(It's amazing Parallels can force Lion to store taboo resource forks. Thank God for code warriors!)

  • HP 8610, just installed, keeps saying its offline?!?

I just installed a brand-new OfficeJet Pro 8610. Its set up on a wireless network, and everything is on the norms, but the printer won't print, because the printer status is "offline." How do I get it "online" so I can get some work done?  Thanx for any help. Norm

Hi all, This one worked for me. It immediately started printed after I applied the change. Disable IPv6 (network connection)Disable IPv6 on the printer to ensure that IPv4 is used by your printer and router on your network. If your printer has a control panel with a display, find the IPv6 setting from the Advanced network settings menu, and set it to Off or Disabled. If your printer does not have a display, use the embedded web server (EWS) to turn off IPv6.From a computer connected to your network, type the IP address for your printer into the URL field of your Internet browser. note:If the Web page appears blank, try a different Internet browser.Click the Network or Networking tab, and then open the section or page for your network type - wired or wireless.Select Enable IPv4 only (or similar).Figure : Example of setting IPv4 using an EWSClick Apply, and then wait until the changes are confirmed.Try printing again.

Hi can anyone help me? I am having trouble printing from my macbook pro to my brother printer. It worked fine yesterday but now its dissapeared from my options to print.

I have tried plugging in an eternet (blue) cable from the printer to the wireless router, but i dont know how to make my macbook find the wireless printer!
If your printer is like my Canon printer, you'll have to do as Bob suggests - use the Setup on the LCD panel of your printer to set up wifi. Pretty easy with my Canon PIXMA MG8220...

  • My HP Deskjet 3050A J611 series wont print, says its printing on the screen, but does nothing.

it has nothing to do with the connection, because even if i try to print a test page from the printer itself (not using my laptop) it still wont print. it says "printing" on the screen, but does nothing. and the green light on the power button blinks the whole time... please please help, its super frustrating, ive un-installed, re-installed, plugged it in, un plugged it, plugged the usb cord in before i realized it wasnt a connection problem, taken the ink out.. i dont know what else to do... again, its not a connection problem.. i tried to go into the settings on the printer itself and clicked printer status or something liek that and it attempted to print out a report, but nothing prints... again, the screen says "printing . . .  "   but nothing happens and it will continue to say "printing  . . . " w/ the moving dots for hours... what could this be??  ive searched online and cant find anything that sounds liek this.. seems like everyone has connection probelms... but i need help!

This sounds like it may be a firmware problem.  The first thing to do is check to see if there are any available firmware update.  I'll include a link to those instructions below.  Next, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet.  Plugging the printer into a surge protector, power strip, or power backup can cause it to become under powered resulting in strange problems like this one.  If the firmware is up to date and plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet doesn't help, follow the steps in the document below.  If that doesn't help, you will need to replace the printer.  Hope this helps.

  • Cannot print my pdf's the printer say its the wrong page size?  Powerpoint Word Excel are all fine

Every time I try to print a pdf my printer now says No paper-Custom Size.  It used to work fine and other programs work fine.

I had this problem.  The error message said that this document cannot be printed and after clikcking ok, another message said that the page wasn't selected or something like that.  I went to Programs and Features in Vista Control Panel and deleted Adobe Reader 9.  Then I rebooted and went to adobe.com and installed the 9.1 version.  Now, I can print my documents.  I hope this helps you!

  • Why does my printer say its off line

My printer HP Photosmartt C6300 keeps saying off line.   I tried unplugging it, unplugging router and it still reads off line. I just installed new ink cartridges.

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.

  • HT204135 my wirelessprinter keeps saying its offline.  its worked before

My wireless computer is not working.  I set it up, but when I print it says communication error...offline

Try following steps and test one at a time:
    1. Restart computer, right mouse click iTunes icon and select "Run As Administrator"
    2. If that does not work, check to see if this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?
If that works, to prevent having to do the same process everytime you restart Windows, go to. START button, type in
    MSCONFIG
    Hit ENTER
Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.
    Restart Windows.
    3. If that fails or you don't see ApsDaemon.exe in the Processes, refer to following article to remove SC files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2363
    4. If that fails, repair or reinstall your Quicktime. START / CONTROL PANEL / PROGRAMS N FEATURES / hightlight QUICKTIME and click REPAIR.

  • I have 3 ipads, the first one hooked up to wifi right away. the other 2 find my wifi and let me join, but says its offline. can someone help me please?

I have 3 ipads and when i got them i started to link them or register them..whatever u call it. The first one hooked up right away, the other two were easy and linked to my wifi ..but they both say that they are NOT connected to internet?? the first one works fine?? help please

I assume that all three iPads have been activated - correct? If so, do the iPads see your network? Go to Settings>Wifi. Is your network showing in that setting? Try turning WiFi off and then on again on the two iPads that will not connect. You can also try rebooting your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in and then try to connect.

  • How do I locate my lost ipod 4th gen. if I tried using find my iphone app and it says its offline?? How do i find it??

    Plz help

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown/or shown as oof-line, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

  • Wireless laptop windows 7 says my hp photosmart 6510 is offline, but printer says connected

Hello, Ive only had these two items together for a couple months, then all of a sudden nothing will print from the computer. I can put my memory card or scan a photo on printer and it will print, but nothing from computer. When I go into the printer queue it says my printer is offline, but my printer says its connected to my server. The only thing I can think of that i did before this happened was deleted all the extra tool bars from internet explorer. I have unistalled and reinstalled my printer software too and still no success. So when I try to connect my computer to my printer it says "unable to find printer". Thank you!

If you have a wireless router or DSL modem which uses DHCP to assign network addresses, check whether your printer's assigned address has changed since you set it up. Windows 7 printer setup has a command for updating that, but it would be better to reserve a specific address so it doesn't change in future. • HT1277 how do you connect your outgoing mail, it says its constantly offline

I have tried disconnecting and connecting my mail account a number of times and everytime i have tried to do this the outgoing server says its offline.
How do i get it to stay online?
    Thanks

If the mail works for a while and then drops off, that's usually a problem with the network connection somewhere between the Mac and the mail server.   Could be a flaky WiFi, or a bad cable, a bad modem or a problem further along in the wiring to your ISP.  WiFi in villages and cities can encounter interference, for instance, and moving to a 5 GHz connection (if your equipment supports it) can help.  ISP connections can be flaky and drop.
If your mail is offline solidly and this is not a transitory problem, then there's usually problem with the username, password, port or server name settings, or a connection has switched to requiring SSL/TLS.  To test a connection that's entirely offline, use the Connection Doctor tool within Mail.app.  (Window > Connection Doctor)
Verify your credentials with your ISP web mail interface, if your ISP offers that.
There are two parts to a mail connection.  The incoming connection (usually POP or IMAP) that receives mail from the mail server, and the outgoing connection (SMTP or ESMTP) that sends the mail to the server.  Mail.app "hides" the latter settings; you have to select the "edit server list" option to get to the SMTP mail server configuration.  Check those against your particular ISP's requirements; you'll have to search for thiose.
If you're using a major ISP provider, post the name of the ISP, and somebody might be able to locate those mail server settings for you.  (Verizon is apparently rolling out a change to their settings, for instance.)
Apple offers a web-based email setup assistant that might help determine the settings, too.  That can help if you remove the existing account and re-add it, too.
