please go through SAP Note 685571. Not all the usual device types are supported when you use Interactive Forms for printing.

I have created a print form using transaction SFP and i am doing test from transaction SFP
(Test function module )

Once i press f8 system asking for printer, then i have given printer name as LOCL and select print preview. then system giving error as
Cannot find PDL type for output device locl and Device type unsuitable for ADS documents
Can i anybody give info what i am doing wrong.
I have tested with FP_TEST_03 that also giving the same error

When Priniting Form16 it displays a message in the taskbar "Device types are unsuitable for ADS Documents"

You need a special device/printer for ADS. Try doing some research on that error.

In Form 16 , while printing the Form16 of the employee it occurs an error "Device types are not suitable for ADS documents" in the task bar.

Printing problem: device type?driver?

Hello friends.
There is a Smartfrom "Transfer Order label" that contains some plain text and also bar code (new bar code technology). Printers Epson LQ-1900KII are used.
While printing if the user selects LOCL printer (of device type SAPWIN, frontend printer), then in frontend, in Windows selects the proper "LQ-1900KII", the Label is printed correctly with bar code. So phisycally the printer can print the label correctly.
Now we need to create in SAP logical printer, that is assigned directly to the proper "LQ-1900KII". I tried the standard epson device type 'EPESCP', but it supplies only several font-sizes and doesn't supply new bar codes. So the label is printed, but the size of characters is incorrect and the bar code is not printed at all.
Do you have any ideas regarding which device type can I use? Or if I need to create a new one, than with wich driver?

Label printing isn't something you set up in the print dialog in ID. If your print driver has an n-up feature that might work, but in general you need to create pages of labels to fit your sheets in ID, then print. If you are talking about doing a merge of an address list, read about Data Merge in thehelp files.

Setting a global margin for any documents to print

Hello,
On a Mac running OS X, I have a ruby/java script allowing me to open a Microsoft Word document and print it as a PDF (and extra stuffs, but that's not part of the problem). During the conversion from Word to PDF for most of my documents I get a dialog saying 'A footer of section X is outside of the printable area of the page...'. What I would like to do is not to write a script to click 'yes' when a dialog open but to try to set the default margin for printing to 0. In the 'page setup', there is an option to create customized 'paper size', with a giving width, height and margins (that I can set to 0). By default the paper size is selecting A4, but I would like to find a way to set this paper size as a default to my customized paper size for any document opened on Microsoft Word or printed as PDF! If I select manually the customized paper size after I open the document on Word, I can print it without having the dialog.
So my question is to know if there is a way to set a global margin for printing to 0 (let me know if I need to use Acrobat Pro, Distiller etc.), whatever the way is.

There is nothing specific with the SDK that you have to print a marketing document such as a Sales Order, PO, etc. What you may want to look at in the 2005A SDK is the "PrintEvent" object. This event lets you catch a print event in the SAP Business One application, get the relevant data that is sent to the printer and then edit it using a third-party editing tool such as Crystal Reports. The PrintEvent event provides an exit point that allows you to integrate third-party tools for reporting and document editing.

How to set "Created By" field for KD Documents

In our system documents that are entered to the Knowledge Directory are not tagged with who it was that submitted them.
We would like to capture that information but I'm not sure how to enable it (or if its possible).
I've looked at the Global Property Map and don't see a setting for a document, I looked at the Global Document Map but that seems to specifically relay info between the documents meta data and portal properties (which is not what I'm looking to do).
Does anyone know how to attach the portal user in some type of "submitted/created by" field to a document?

Finally, I got an answer from OSS and the following is that.
The popup is shown when there are more than 10 variants exist.
If do not want to have this popup, you can modify the include
LSVARTOP in SE38:
C_VARILIST TYPE I VALUE '10' - maybe change value to '100'
or if you want to have the popup but without the name inside:
change include LSVARE01 and comment the line:
ename-low = sy-uname. append ename. "old
ename-low = sy-uname. append ename. "new
I believe this message might be able to solve my problem.

PDF Print: Using Device Type PDF1 to output SAPscript forms

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a e-mail with pdf attachment using the info from the note 323736.
I'm hable to send some mails with attachment, but I'm not hable to add the device type created in a smartform print and send automatically through e-mail.
It gives the following error:
"Device type PDF1 does not support page format DINA4."
Does anyone know the possible page formats or how to enalbe DINA4 as a possible format to send via PDF?
Any ideas?

Hi Pedro,
Transaction SPAD, Click 'Full Administration' then the 'Devce Types' tab. Then display the device types.
Find your device type in the list and choose 'Formats', this will list the formats for this device type.

You can change the same or display in VV32 and VV33 respectively.
Tcode for maintaining output masterdata
For sales orders, VV11, VV12, VV13
For deliveries     VV21, VV22, VV23
For invoices       VV31, VV32, VV33

Document type change for excise document

Dear Experts,
I would like to change the document type for excise invoice generated at the time of J1IIN. At present system is generating document type SA. I want to maintain different number range for these documents instead of SA document number. So I would like maintain different document type for these document.
I have maintained different document ED in Tax on goods movement - Basic settings - maintain Company code settings, but still system picking document type SA.
Please advice.

PL/SQL record type does not map to any java class.
Although I haven't tried it, I understand that you may be able to use JPublisher to create a mapping between PL/SQL record type and some java class[es].
Alternatively, you can define an Oracle object type instead of a PL/SQL record type.
(But you can't use "%type" when defining an object.)

Document type definitions for xml documents exported from SBO?

I am looking for DTD or XSD specifications for the documents that are exported from SBO via the DI API. It seems that this information is not available with the standard DI API documentation. Does anyone have a clue about where to look for these specifications ?

The DI Company object has a GetBusinessObjectXmlSchema method which allows you to retreive the schema details.
Below is the sample from the DI help file.

You will need to make a custom template with your own settings.
The default text style is Body so set that the way you like it in the template.
