Printer Settings Through HP Web JetAdmin

We have recently started using HP Web JetAdmin to configure our print devices with templates. Once of the template settings is to display the hostname on the LCD display on the printer. This setting applies successfully and works until the device reboots. After reboot, the setting reverts back to showing the IP Address. Is there a way to force those settings to persist beyond reboots? Thanks in advance.

Bump.

  • Control Adobe printer settings through VBA

I'm writing VBA code in Excel 2003. I need it to create a Word document and then translate the Word document into a pdf using Adobe pdf as a printer. I have all of this working. The problem is that there's a save as dialog that comes up so the user has to click ok. This program is creating hundreds of pdf files at a time so its not workable to have to click ok each time.
I found the properties dialog for the pdf printer and there is a setting that lets me specify a default folder. Setting this works great and does just what I want, but the client I'm doing this for needs to use the adobe printer for themselves and they're not computer savvy enough to be able to go make the change for themselves each time they use the program. Is there a way with VBA code to change the setting while the program runs and then change it back? I've combed a lot of these forums and read the sdk documentation and I can't find a straight answer to this.
    Thanks - Eric

Thanks for the reply, and on Thanksgiving no less :-)
I downloaded the Acrobat 9.1 SDK and found 2 documents: pdf_reference.pdf and UD3Elements.pdf. I looked through both of these and found no reference to silent printing. I did a search on the Adobe site and found no exact match for Distiller IAC Guide or Documentation. I found a few results that contained the terms Distiller and IAC but found no reference to silent printing. I did find a reference to a description of an example that somehow involved silent printing, but when I tried to open it Adobe Reader told me that the Adobe pdf file was missing or corrupt.
I am not an acrobat expert nor do I want to or have any reason to be. I have 1 small project that needs to do 1 thing with creating pdf documents and it has been unneccessarily complicated to find an answer to such a straightforward problem, especially when so many other people seem to be confused about the same thing. I can write code that modifies the registry. If someone could just tell me what the 2 registry values are and what they need to be set to or at least a link to this document that explains it, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • HP Web Jetadmin, PC-CONNECTED printer and Toner level problem

HP Web Jetadmin 10.3.93994 (10.3 SR7) running on Windows Server 2012 (Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0),
HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP is connected via USB to the computer with Windows 7 SR1 64.
The latest drivers installed, SNMP, HP SNMP Proxy_64_10_3_0010 and HPWSProxyService_10_3_1 installed.
HP ToolboxFX shows the toner level, the approximate number of pages remaining, cartridge serial number, etc.
HP SNMP Proxy is not working.
HP WS Proxy runs, HP Web Jetadmin displays all but the state of supplies - writes "not available".
File HPWSProxyServiceLog.log errors and warnings does not contain, at the level "All" has many lines of "Calling UIO for ..." with the result of "Status code is 200".
When printer as networked - this is no problem - Jetadmin shows everything including toner's level.
Does HPWSProxyService_10_3_1 support status of supplies (toner level) for printer HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP?

No problem whatsoever so long as you have a German store account which can only be registered using a German credit card which is registered to a German street address

  • Xfinity web mail print settings in firefox on a mac

I have a mac running OS X.7.2 and Firefox 9.0.1. My printer is a Canon MX310 inkjet black and color. My default printer setting is black in the mac print utility. I have issue printing from Firefox only. It won't print because it says it must print in black and color when my settings are black only. I reinstalled FF and reset printer settings to default to no avail. I had to change my mac profile to "black and color" with FF closed and now printing away in color, Yikes ($$!).

Can you check this issue on Firefox 9?

  • Print Settings Don't Work

Update: This turned out to not be a Photoshop problem. I reverted to an earlier Restore Point in Windows and all is now well. Thanks!
When I click Print Settings under Printer Setup and choose my paper type, resolution, size, orientation, and color management settings, they do not take effect after I click Okay.  Despite what I set, if I go back through Print Settings, the default settings are still there (Plain page, Normal-360dpi, default color mangement). If I print, dreadful color results.
PS CC 64-bit Setup: In the main Photoshop Print Settings dialog box, I am using Photoshop Manages Colors, my specific printer profile, Normal Printing, Relative Colorimetric, and Black Point Compensation. In the Printer Setup section, my color printer is selected (Epson 2200). PC: Win 7 (64-bit), i7 3.40 GHz, RAM 16 GB. PS and Windows are on the SSD, with data on the HD.
The same problem occurred with CS6 before I went to CC.
Needless to say, I can't print. I'll appreciate your help--haven't seen anything like this and can't find anything about it on the Web.

Timmy, since Microsoft no longer supports WMP 9 for Mac, you should just use Flip4Mac or VLC or other third party Windows Media player.
I don't know how migrating from a PPC iMac system to an Intel-based iMac works, but you probably have a lot of non-Universal files on board your Intel-based iMac and that could be a problem.

  • HP LJ M4555 MFP no Device Utilization Data Collection in Web Jetadmin 10.2.77156 (SR6)

Recently added three newer HP LaserJet M4555 MFPs to our Web Jetadmin Data Collection for reporting.  The Data Collection for Accessory Inventory, Supply Utilization, Device Inventory and Event Log History all worked - they return a Collection Status of Collection Succeeded.
However the Device Utilization returns a Collection Status of Device Error (not very helpful).
    We're using
    Web Jetadmin 10.2.77156 (SR6)
I couldn't see anything flagged in this doco as to why it might not work:
    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01894187/c01894187.pdf
    All three MFPs are
    Firmware Datecode: 20121208
    Firmware Revision: 2201057_231936
I couldn't see anything flagged in this doco as to why it might not work:
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL38070/sj-114224-1/readme_ljM4555fw_2201057_231936.pdf
We have several older M4555 MFPs that we are collecting this data from successfully - I've tried to compare settings and can't see anything different standing out.  They do have older firmware.
    Firmware Datecode: 20110225
    Firmware Revision: 2110187_149149
    and
    Firmware Datecode: 20111217
    Firmware Revision: 2131305_192067
Any MFP with any of these firmware revisions report the data fine.
Does anyone know if there is a particular setting that is required to allow the Device Utilization Data Collection?
Or if there are any known incompatibilites with this firmware revision?

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • Print settings not holding...

I have a setup where I'm using Reader to open PDF docs that are very large (24" by 36" docs). In previous versions of Acrobat, if I set the print setting to print 'Current View' and 'Fit to Page' these settings would hold between PDF files. So when users Zoomed to a specific portion of the PDF and printed it, they only got the part they were zoomed into - which is what we wanted. The users didn't have to do anything but hit print and click Ok - no settings changed required. Now we've gone to Acrobat X Reader and this 'Current View' setting will not stay put. Is there any way to make this stay? Config file, reg edit, or something?
I am considering the idea of setting up a web page with links to these docs so the users can browse for the file they need and have it open within the Acrobat Reader Plug-In in IE. So I would like to get these settings applied that way as well.
The only other option I can think of is using the Acrobat SDK and really customizing the web pages that way, but I'm not sure if that will give me the level of control needed to do this through the code side either.
Any solutions or other suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Keep in mind print settings are stored in the PSD document, so you may be thinking it's not remembering your print settings, when in fact it's rememebering them a different way...  In other words, if you print document 1 to printer A then save as a PSD, then print document 2 to printer B then save as PSD, then re-open document 1, the default printer for document 1 will still be A.
Another known problem with some printer drivers is that you have to set the parameters twice in order to get them to stick.  This could affect, for example, then number of copies to print.  A workaround is to make your changes, then go through the [Print Settings...] button twice (first time to make changes, second time to check the changes).
    Hope this helps!

  • Web Jetadmin 10.1 Fax activity question.

I'm trying to get some stats on our faxing activitiy for 32 printers.  I tried running a report but -- no data.  So I ran a Data Collection on Device Utilizaton...but it's only reporting back what's happend SINCE I did the collection.
I know that the Fax Activity Logs are still available, and I can get them by walking up to the machine and manually printing them out.  What I was wondering is if there is a way to get to  this information through Web Jetadmin.
    Thanks.

I am not certain where this should be posted to get the best answer.
The Web Jetadmin support page only lists contact support or submit a ticket as support options.  You can try one of these two options.
Alternatively, you could try the Business Support Forums.  I was not able to find a support forum specifically for Web Jetadmin, but you could try the LaserJet forums as I am certain most businesses are using it with LaserJet printers.

  • Displaying Adobe Form through CRM WEB UI

    Hi Experts,
Currently I am working on CRM Technical which is very new to me. I've got a requirement to display the Adobe form through CRM WEB UI. The requirement is like this.
In a screen of WEB UI there is a option of OUTPUT preview. When i select the specific billing document and when i click on OUTPUT Preview tab it should display the Adobe Form which was developed in SAP GUI using txn SFP. I have done some R&D on it and i found that an ACTION Profile need to be created for this kind of requirements. But in my research i found only Smartforms can be displayed using the ACTION point.. Could anyone help me out how to display the Adobe Form using the Action......
    Regards,
    Aarthi.

    Hi Robert,
I came across this post after implementing the same solution.  It works fine for me in SAPgui, i.e. it creates an entry in the spool which I can priview or print, but when I use the webUI it just opens a new window with a white background and the message 'Error in smartform'.
Nitin, did you manage to come up with any solution?  Or did this work for you?

  • Safari doesn't remember print settings

    hi all
i'm using safari 1.3.2 under panther, & i want to print a bunch of web pages with a layout of 2 pages of text per printed page. this works fine when i use the layout feature in the print dialog box, but the problem is that i have to do this every time. how can i get safari to remember my previous print settings? or is this possible?
thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments!
    brian

    Hi Brian,
I'm not on my Mac at the moment, but if memory serves, I believe after making the necessary customisation with regards to layout, paper handling, you can click on the 'presets' field and save your particular scheme for use in the future. I'm not sure if you can specify a user-created scheme as default but I'd imagine it's possible as well.
I hope Tiger and Panther are similar at least in that respect. All the best!
