Printer shows OK on diagnostics but ony produces blank test pages

The screen on my Officejet J6450 All in one printer is showing two symbols [?] [?]. What does this mean. Manual is no help. Test pages come out blank.

I just installed a new hp 8500 office jet. i can print from adobe, explorer, one note but not from a mozilla page.does anyone know how to fix this ? my 8500 worked just fine with mozilla

My printer is an HP 8600 OFFICE JET. I cannot print anything when using mozilla. when i'm using explorer and i go to yahoo or yahoo finance or any other website print my stock portfolios, email, etc. but i can't do that when i'm in mozilla.
I didn't have that problem with my HP OFFICE JET 8500.
HP support hasn't been able to resolve the issue.

Does that printer appear in the "Printer -> Name" drop-down and can you select it?

Mailto is launching email ok but also launching blank web page

i am using AS3 on a website. Part of the AS has been setup by an external source and I ma now updating and adapting it. My knowledge of AS is limited but slowly expanding.
Currently the site is a main flash file with all the content delivered via a main.as file and then populated via images and videos held in folders on the web.
In one section we have an email link.
I was using Email: <a href='mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]</a> and it worked fine. It launched the email program and put the email address in ready to go.
When I added the subject element as below
Email: <a href='mailto:[email protected]?subject=Email%20Enquiry'>[email protected]</a>
it now does what it should with the email program but it also opens a blank webpage.
What can I do to get rid of the blank web page opening?

A purchased downloaded tv show says it's playing but screen is blank..how do I get it to play?

When I click the "print" button a simplified set of directions should pop up for me to print.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

JTable printing code produces blank last page on Windows LAF, OK on Metal

I've been banging my head on this one for hours. I'm printing JTables, handling the pagination myself (built in Printable is far too limited). I've one table which can have a variable number of columns, with some column counts it's fine, with others the last page simply comes up blank. Because the scale adjusts it may have something to do with the number of rows on the last page. 5 or 6 it screws up, 20 or so it's fine.
This is the code that prints the section:

    }Bascially it selects the block of rows to print by setting a clip box on the whole table size, and translates to bring the block to the top of the page.
The rectangle drawn to the clip box is fine. table.print simply doesn't paint anything.
I'm starting to think this might be a bug in the Windows LAF TableUI, because I've just tried switching to Metal and it works fine. Anyone had similar problems?

Similar problems, just not with printing a JTable. Your problem might be totaly different but I have found that components change size (dimensions) and sub component sizes (like table columns) when you view them on different look and feels.

When printing from my Mac all of a sudden when printing from IPhoto the picture is really dark. The test page off my HP color laser jet is just fine. It is not the printer although older. All of sudden it does not want to print correctly.

All of a sudden when printing from my desktop Mac in IPhoto the printout comes out black. My colors are fine on my HP color laser printer. I have printed many times and now all of a sudden it is not printing. A test copy from my printer comes out fine. I really think for some reason something has changed just in the last few days. Just communication with IPhoto and the computer.

As long as your cartriges are full, put a photo on you desktop, highlight it , click COMMAND P and the print preferences window should drop down, and select your printer and photo paper.

PDF file prints fine from Acrobat reader XI, but not Acrobat Standard XI

I have a 2 page document that is set up as tabloid 11x17, meant to be printed duplexed and folded as a 4 pamphlet. The document with the same printer settings prints fine from Adobe Reader XI but from Adobe Standard XI, Page 1 prints fine, but page 2 looks like it is trying to print on the backside of an 81/2x11 instead of 11x17. I have played with the print settings in Standard, and cannot come up with a combination that prints that document correctly, yet it prints fine from Acrobat Reader XI. I did double check for updates on both products and installed them. Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening? If I print page 2 by itself it does print properly, just not when sent duplexed with page 1.

Well, for those following this thread or needing a solution, I found a work-around though I'm still not sure why the initial problem exists.
In Acrobat 9 Pro, once you have the main print dialogue box open, follow the steps below:
1) Click ADVANCED
2) Select PRINT AS IMAGE
3) Set DPI to 300
4) Click OK
5) Make any other typical print setup adjustments as you normally would and finish printing as usual

New pages won't open on iPad; new pages shows installed on air book but won't open. Related?

new pages program won't open iPad cloud documents without crashing--work around is to not open any documents in clouds, but it saves to clouds anyway; however, new pages program shows installed on air book but won't open new pages documents created on ipad without message "need to install a newer version of pages", which I have done. Are these two problems related?

Double tap Home button and delete Pages from multitask-bar.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
Try again with Pages.
If no joy, delete Pages and redownload again.

HP Photosmart C4585 - can't print test pages + copies are all reduced in size

I have 2 problems with an HP Photosmart C4585 All-in-one printer.
Firstly, I cannot print test prints ie 'Network Configuration Page' and the 'Run Wireless Network Test' page. It sounds as though it's printing but it produces blank sheets.
Secondly, trying to Copy A4 originals to A4 paper the printout is always reduced in size to about a quarter of the sheet (more like photo size) - no matter which setting I select. It's also printed blue.
The printer is not connected to a computer but I successfully print A4 documents in black, from an iPad using the HP ePrint app. So it is just the copy facility which is malfunctioning.

I would like to assist you today with resolving the 'offline' issues that you're experiencing when trying to print from your Windows 8 computer to your wirelessly connected HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer. Now, recently Microsoft has released a Hotfix for the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Operating Systems to 'fix' offline printing issues as Microsoft recognizes this as an issue with their latest Operating System. Therefore, to start, I am going to have you run the Hotfix to see if this resolves the printing issues.
Can I please have you click here to access the Hotfix page. Once the website opens select the 'Hotfix Download Available' button. Allow the Hotfix to run. Please follow any onscreen steps to install the Hotfix.
Once the fix has completed, please test printing again. Should the Offline issue persist there is an additional driver fix that I may need to walk you through. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

This would be the correct setting if the AirPort Extreme is connected to a simple modem (one ethernet port).
*Settings I have Enabled*
5 GHz name indicates that you have elected to use the option to assign a separate name to the 5 GHz network. This will allow you to "tell" compatible computers to connect to that network, rather than the slower 2.4 GHz network
Use Wide Channels is recommended for 5 GHz operation.
Interference Robustness often does more harm than good and should not be used unless you know you are in a area with a lot of wireless networks and you feel that your network is experiencing interference issues from a nearby network.

disc on their auction site, but only on disc not a download which is more convenient & faster

This forum is for OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Since that version won't run on your PowerMac, you're not likely to get many helpful responses here.
In any case, I'll try to offer some basic troubleshooting suggestions:
The PS designation on your printer denotes the PostScript printer language. Is your applications software and current printer driver configured to send PostScript (or HP-GL or HP-PCL or ???)
Does ANY application print anything (even gibberish) to the printer?

Does the printer time-out with every program, or just one? Have you tried another cable?
OS X 10.5 Leopard is no longer sold by Apple. It was never sold as a download, sold only on CD/DVD disc. Discs might still be available for purchase on eBay.
OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" is the oldest version of OS X still sold by Apple, and it too is available ONLY on CD/DVD for $20, but it will not run on your PowerMac, because Snow Leopard requires an Intel processor: os x snow leopard requirements

How is the printer connected to the computer? Are you using a USB interface, a Centronics 'Parallel' interface, or a JetDirect network interface?
It appears that the network timeout default for the printer was 30 minutes, but it can apparently be set in the range of anything 30-seconds and longer. The manual notes that some software does not send an 'end of job' postscript marker, so that is the reason for the time-out setting.

Try a NVRAM reset: (but make sure u save your n/w config 1st)
1. power off the printer
2. holding down the select and cancel buttons and powering on
3. release buttons when display reads "permanent storage init"
