Printer spooler problem

I had been able to print over a wireless connection.  Recently I could not connect.  When I tried to open Printer Printer Properties I received an error message " Printer properties cannot be displayed.  The print spooler service is not running".  I restarted the spooler but it still gives me the same error message.  A Cannon tech help person worked with me for about an hour but could not fix the problem.  He though it was a windows problem.  Any ideas on how to fix this?  Thanks

Which computer? Which Windows? Which printer?

  • Printer Spooler Problems when I try to print in Excel, drivers are deleted!

I recently installed my HP Laser-jet 2600n drivers on to my laptop (HP G61).  For a few days everything worked fine, then when I tried to print a spreadsheet in Excel, I received the message "no printer drivers installed".  I reinstalled them, and once again the same thing happened. I re did it, and this time printed out from my email, a word doc, and the internet, all OK, but when I went back into Excel (2007), it once again deleted the files. When I do a diagnostic check on the HP website, it tells me there is a print spooler problem, and proceeds to fix it, but then it all starts again. I have now reloaded the drivers at least 6 times, it is getting very frustrating. I would appreciate any help.

'''bold text'''I've tried several different virtual pdf printer applications including:

    Virtual PDF Printer
I took screenshots of the same small section of a sample pdf file saved to pdf using the virtual pdf printer freeware doPDF v7.

  • 276dw acrobat printing spooler problem

Just purchase HP 276dw and all my application print fine except Adobe Acrobat pdf. The printer is attached via WiFi and when I pull up a pdf to print and send to printer, the printer wakes up and then the message on my Mac states Spool is Full and it does not print. Most of my printing is via pdf, so this new printer is virtually useless. I have turn it off, reset the setup, etc, but still nothing. Adobe states it is an HP driver problem. Can someone help?

  • Acrobat XI Pro update / print spooler problem

Running Acrobat XI Pro on Windows XP Pro 5.1 sp 3..
-- Acrobat tries to update 11.0.02. I see the icon in the Windows tray for a long time. I open the Acrobat Updater, and it is stuck on "Service to stop:  Print Spooler."
-- It was like that for about a day ... maybe two... then it gave the 'Install Failed" error, and, if I remember correctly, gave the error message 1602.
-- When I looked up the error, the stated remedy was to try again but using the Help --> Check for Updates menu item inside Acrobat (instead of letting automatic updater do it).
-- So I did that yesterday evening, about 10 hours ago, and currently, the install is still stuck on "Service to stop: Print Spooler."
This actually happened once before some months ago, and I forget what I did to fix or end the situation... but whatever that was, I'm not finding it now.
    Help?

Please follow the steps mentioned here: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1602-update-acrobat-reader.html

  • Print spooling problem

I have a Konica 1050 which is a great printer, but when I print from my mac in acrobat and I want to print more than one copy of a document, it spools more pages that the document has. I figured out what it's doing. If I have a 10 page document and I want 2 copies it will spool 20 pages. This is ok for small runs, but when I have an 8 page document that needs 200 copies it has to spool 1600 pages and it would take hours. Is there a setting I'm missing? The system I'm currently running is aa G4 Power PC running osx 10.4.11

I tried looking up the specs for that printer, but can't find what languages it supports, only some allow multiple copies without spooling, and most cannot use that if you print pages 1 thru 8 200 times, instead of printing each page 200 times, then the next page 200 times, & so on... Collated is that setting.
Some printers have a setting to default to a certain number of copies.

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:

  • Officejet 7310 Print Spooler Unable to connect to your Printer

Hello, this problem cropped up last week after I applied a series of Windows XP automatic updates.  I've seen a number of old posts on this problem, along with the series of solutions on the HP site, but none of worked reliably -- read on for more details.  Wondering if anyone else encountered this problem recently and has a solution that has lasted?
As background, the 7310 is connected via ethernet wire to a router.  I run two XP machines and am running into the "print spooler" problem on each.  I also run a Win7 machine, and can print fine from that PC (I know, so upgrade to Win7 -- maybe this winter!!).   More details on what I've tried, if it helps:
To try and fix the XP machines, I have:
    -  Cleared the print queue and rebooted.
    -  Verified that the printer is using the correct port
    -  Verified that my XP machines can communicate with the printer  by scanning a document
    -  Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the 7310 complete driver set
At this point I  was still unable to print from the XP machines.  I then did the following:
    -  Checked the port settings; tried changing to the "print directly to the printer" vs spooling
    -  Also noticed that windows wanted to download updates to the Microsoft .NET framework (because the HP driver installs an old version), so I dowloaded and applied all of those updates.
After this, I WAS able to print.  I then changed the port setting back to spooling, and was still able to print.  I then rebooted, and again ran into the spooler problem.

    Hi NeverBoring,
Currently the ICS is not supported in Home&Biz app.  Supposedly there was going to be a Home&Biz app update in late February but we haven't seen it yet.

  • Print Spooler

The Satellite A205 S4639 running Vista 32 bit Ultimate.  Printer is a Dell 1320c Color Laser.
Computer is connected WiFi to a router.  Printer is plugged into router via ethernet cable.
    Problem:
Printer worked perfectly until early December 2008.  I was out of US most of December.  When I returned, printerwould only work AFTER A COMPUTER REBOOT if I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  If I put computer to sleep and returned to it, it printed.
When I cannot print, I can successfully ping the computer via its IP address.  This says the computer is there.
    Attempts to fix already
    Installed lastest driver
    Replaced Cable
Stopped and restarted the Print Spooler
    Problem not fixed
    Question
What is going on?  Dell tech support was stumped.  I concur with them that it is NOT a Dell problem.
It looks like the spooler is bad.
One thing I have not yet done is try to print to another printer connected via the same type of connection on another router.  I can print to a USB port
    thanks

  • Printer spooler error when attempting to install Acrobat Pro (also Reader)

I tried to install the trial version of Acrobat Pro today.  Installation would not complete due to an inability to stop the print spooler.
After this failure to install, I was no longer able to access my printer via the previously installed Acrobat Reader.  I uninstalled Reader and attempted to reinstall it, only to discover the same print spooler problem.  Neither program will now install.
I am running the latest version of Windows 8.  Can anybody help?

    Back with more information.
After rebooting I successfully installed Acrobat Reader XI and established that it could contact the printer.
I then tried to install the trial version of Acrobat Pro XI.  The procedure was slightly different this time, as this time it went via Adobe Creative Cloud, but the installation failed.

  • Printer spool has no dependencies -Vista 32 bit

    Hello
I have installed my printer onto my Dell laptop yet nothing was printing.  Have updated the printer driver and have also been in touch with HP who tried numerous things to solve the non print issue.
Apparently my printer spool shows 'No Dependencies' and there does not seem any way to correct this and I require RPC  to be attached and also an undocked profile.
We have tried the regedit and further instructions posted on printer spool problem pages but to no avail.
Can anyone please help as I am not at my wits end!!
    Many thanks in advance

    Hi,
What is the detailed error messages? Any more information in the event viewer?
Have you manually checked the dependencies of the print spooler service in Services manager, does it looks as below
make sure that the RPC service is started, after that, please restart printer spooler service, and clear the any existing content in the spool folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

  • Printer Spool

I have an HP C3100 Series all-in-one and I went to print something out the other night and it said that the printer spool service is not working. I've recently had some computer problems with a router going out on me and so now that I have that solved...... the computer is telling me I have no printer installed. That's crazy. LOL        How do I solve this problem ?    Help?  Anyone?

I wonder if you solved your printer spool problem as I now have the same problem and my printer says it can't connect, as well as "Printer Spool Service Not Running". The printer has responded, then not, several times, even after installing new drivers on both computers on a home network. Any help would be appreciated (Computer connected directly to printer is working; remote is not now, but was a week ago?)

I know my printer is Ok since I can print jobs from other Pc running win xp. I ran many HP on line tools to fix problem but to date no fix. Even reloaded drivers. Thanks, Mr_BobMy Pc is a Dell 570 win 7 pc

Hi , I see by your post that you are getting a "Print Spooler v28" error. I would like to help you. Looking at the title, it looks like you have the USB connected to the router. This can cause intermittent issues and it may or may not work. Connect the printer directly to a wall outlet and connect the USB cable to the computer. (not a docking station or hub, router) The USB cable shouldn't be longer then 6 feet. Clear the Spool folder and restart the Print Spooler, to see if that will help. How to Clear Current Print Queue In Windows Vista & Windows 7. If the issue persists, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. • Printing ZPL (Zebra) data to printer spooler without character conversion

    Hi all,
We are printing shipping labels from UPS, with a process where we recive the ZPL label code directly from UPS, and we just need to pass the data to the printer to get the labels. We have already implemented this with Fedex and some custom labels, and it works perfectly. The problem with the UPS label data is that it contains non-printable characters (in the MaxiCode data field). When passed to the SAP printer spooler (see code example below), the data gets corrupted because SAP interprets these non-printable characters as printer control codes.
I have verified this by saving the ZPL data to a local file, before printing it through the SAP spooler. I then print this raw data and compare the output with the labels printed from the spooler. The MaxiCode (the big 2D barcode) is different in these labels. UPS has also tested the labels, and rejected them because of incorrect data in the barcode.
For printing, we are using printers defined as type "PLAIN", but I also tried using the "LZEB2" device type with the same result. The error we see in the spooler entry is this:
Print ctrl S_0D_ is not defined for this printer. Page 1, line 2, col. 2201
Print output may not be as intended
The printer ctrl code differs, depending om the label. I have examined the spooler data in "raw" mode, and there is always an ASCII character 28 (hex 1C) in front of the characters that SAP think are control codes, and this is why I think these non-printable characters are the reason for the problems.
This is the function module I use to print the ZPL data (and as stated above, this works fine for Fedex and custom labels). The ZPL data is converted to binary format before passed to the function module, but I also tried to send the data in text format with another FM, but the result is the same. I have experimented with the "codepage" parameter, and this one gives the least amount of errors, and some labels actually get through without errors. But still at least 50% of the labels gets corrupted, with log entries like above.

          EXCEPTIONS
            handle_not_valid = 1
            operation_failed = 2
            OTHERS           = 3.
Does anyone know if there is a way to send data to the spooler without character conversion or interpretation of printer control codes? Or is there any other smart way to get around this problem?
    /Leif

I do a more direct output to the spooler, to avoid any issues with the WRITE statement and SAP's report output processing. At the same time, I insert line breaks so that the output is easy to debug in the spooler if needed. Also included is the code to to detect the escape code (ASCII #28) and to insert a control code ZZUPS in its place (you can skip this for Fedex). Here's a simplified example, but please note this is for a Unicode system, some minor changes is required in a non-Unicode system.
