Printer Templates Don't work in LR4
I just installed LR4 (windows 7 version) and the printer templates came in OK (it seems) they are there anyway and when I mouse over them the little display window at the top shows them changing but when I click nothing happens. Everything works fine in LR3.
A bit more: It seems that it will work sporaticly sometimes after I run LR 3 and pop through a few print templates in LR 3, then go back to LR 4 where tehy will work for a bit then it won't again. Very strange.

I bought my Macbook 1 year ago. It was supposed to have iWork pre-installed, but it did not, it came with the box separate. I never got around to installing it until now, one year later. So, I installed it, hoping to make a Christmas letter using one of the templates, however my templates don't appear to be working.
When I choose a template based upon the preview, the preview image looks correct. But when I double click it, the template it opens is something completely different. For one thing, the language is not in English, for another, it's missing half the items in the preview, and appears in ghostly purple/grey colors.
I'm not sure what to do here, or what could be wrong, but I don't want to pay $79 to get iWork 09 either.Hi Kelley,
The nonsense text that you see in the fresh Template is Placeholder Text. Click once on the Placeholder Text and begin typing. Your input will be formatted in the same style as the text it replaces.
If you mention the specific template that you are using we can try to help out with the missing items and "ghostly" colors.

Update: This turned out to not be a Photoshop problem. I reverted to an earlier Restore Point in Windows and all is now well. Thanks!
When I click Print Settings under Printer Setup and choose my paper type, resolution, size, orientation, and color management settings, they do not take effect after I click Okay. Despite what I set, if I go back through Print Settings, the default settings are still there (Plain page, Normal-360dpi, default color mangement). If I print, dreadful color results.
PS CC 64-bit Setup: In the main Photoshop Print Settings dialog box, I am using Photoshop Manages Colors, my specific printer profile, Normal Printing, Relative Colorimetric, and Black Point Compensation. In the Printer Setup section, my color printer is selected (Epson 2200). PC: Win 7 (64-bit), i7 3.40 GHz, RAM 16 GB. PS and Windows are on the SSD, with data on the HD.
The same problem occurred with CS6 before I went to CC.
Needless to say, I can't print. I'll appreciate your help--haven't seen anything like this and can't find anything about it on the Web.Timmy, since Microsoft no longer supports WMP 9 for Mac, you should just use Flip4Mac or VLC or other third party Windows Media player.
I don't know how migrating from a PPC iMac system to an Intel-based iMac works, but you probably have a lot of non-Universal files on board your Intel-based iMac and that could be a problem. -
Links in template don't work in the children
I have created a template in CS4 with graphic roll over links. I have made six pages from this template and then gone back to the template to connect the links in the menu bar. Why don't the links work on the six pages in a browser?

It sounds as if the updated files were not uploaded to the server.
Or perhaps the links were not properly propagated from the Template file to the child pages:
Re-open your template file and remake the links by using the browse to file method (in the Properties Inspector). If your graphic rollovers use javascript, you may need to reapply the javascript. Don't try to type in the paths for the links; the Template has its own methods for sorting out what the links need to be on child pages.
Save the file. Click "yes" when the dialog box asks if you want to update files that depend on the template.
Any of those files that are open at the time you do this will have to be saved again (Save All). Those that are not opened will be updated in the background.
Upload ("Put") all the updated files to your server.

(navigation area or not) that point to another page in the web site
do not work, but external links go. (No error is reported, but
nothing happends) However, when published, all links work. Any
ideas what is happening?

This is how DW will work if you are using ROOT RELATIVE
links, *and*
temporary files to preview.
Here's an example -
* I create a page with a link to an image -> <img
src="/images/foo.gif">
(note that the image link is a root relative link - the path
says to go to
the
root of the site and look for the images folder because of
the leading
slash)
<img src="/images/foo.gif" (that's root relative - it
starts with the root
of the site)
<img src="../images/foo.gif" (that's document relative -
it starts with the
current location of the document)
* I preview that page with DW (since I am using temp files,
DW is kind
enough to realize that root relative links won't work in a
preview, and so
it converts them to document relative links when it builds
the temporary
file for the preview) -> <img
src="../images/foo.gif"> (I'm assuming that
your document is one level below the root of the site). In
the preview,
this page looks fine because the browser has no trouble with
the document
relative link - it knows where the file it just opened is,
and can follow
the path to the image).
* I then click on a link in the previewed page to another
page that also has
ROOT relative linked images --> <img
src="/images/bar.gif"> and suddenly
the image does not load.
Why? Because when you click away from the temp file DW just
built for you,
you have lost the benefit of the automatic conversion that DW
does with
root relative links, and the browser looks for this new image
starting from
the root of the hard drive, not the root of your site.
The solution is to not use root relative links, and to change
all your
existing ones to document relative.

Since installing the newest version of Firefox, This message "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined" appears in a box when a new window should open. Also, what you see in print print preview is not what prints.
This type of error is usually caused by an add-on you are using that is not compatible. It could be anything from an antivirus link scanner like AVG Safe Search add-on, or McAfee Site Advisor add-on, or something similar. To confirm what add-on is causing this use the procedure in this link:

Try Disabling the last add-on that was installed prior to upgrading to version 5.0
Check and tell if its working. -
Menu templates don't work with new OS
I upgraded my OS X (Panther) on my G5 lately from Panther to Tiger and have some problems with DVD Studio Pro; it does not work correctly. None of the templates that I apply to DVD menu displays pictures that are dragged to it. Has anyone come across that problem and know how to fix it?
are you looking at the motion preview of the menu? many templates have motion that reveals the drop zones, so you would not see them on the first frame of the menu in still preview.

PowerPoint Templates don't work in Menuboards
We are in the process of creating menu boards for posting to
our Intranet website. Instead of using a pkgd Powerpoint template,
we have designed our own template with a background, textboxes, and
a small graphic. The template looks great in PowerPoint, looks
great when applied to the menuboard either through the wizard or
starting from a blank template. Our problems come when we export
the menu board either as a swf or html file.
1. The text becomes blurry, small, and difficult to read when
the menu board is opened from our link on the Intranet
2. When the menu board opens from our site link in a new
window in IE only the left half of the menu board is visible. (the
same issues occur when we use a pkg PP template with no
modifications)
We have tried changing the size up and down, but this does
not solve the problem. It was discovered through trial and error
that we had to design the template in Master Slide view in order to
be able to view the template in Captivate 2 as it was applied to
the menu board.
Has any one ever experienced these issues? If so, how did you

Templates with Flash don't work

I have several pages with templates, but with the new Flash
player, the swf that are included in the templates don't work, they
do'nt appear in the webpage.
Any help please!!It's IE-only behaviour as a result of changes Microsoft made

Yep, should do. I can't think of anything that doesn't migrate. Develop presets will continue to work with PV2010 photos but won't match the sliders for PV2012 which is the new sliders. I think that's it.

The general process is to select the photo and print, select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize and under settings selec multiples copies of a photo (the preview will reflect this choice) and click print to print, make any printer specific selections and click print to print

Printing to prn:, to a matrix printer don't work sometimes
If I do for example under windows:
FileOutputStream os = new FileOutputStream ("PRN:Okidata");
in order to print directly to a matrix point printer called exactly "Okidata" in the pc, I have seen that sometimes doesn't work (more or less 30% of the pc I have tried) FileNotFound appears, but the printer name is well written.
Why this happen? it has something to do with windows? the matter is that not always I can access the printers with prn.
Something similar happens with \\pcname\printername. Here an error is not shown but the printer job stay in the p�rinter queue forever and doesn't print.
Many Thanks for any help. I really want to know what professional programs, printing to a matrix pont printer do, because using the windows drivers and java.awt.Graphics don't work nice in all cases. It even doesn't work with all models for example panasonic kx-p2130 the printing gets weird.
