Printer uninstall loop cannot be corrected

I have recently reinstalled with the installation disk my HP officejet 4500 G510g-m printer.  (I no longer needed it to function as a network printer and was plugging it directly into my HP Probook 4530s with a LAN connector cable.)  The printer is working.  However, there is some kind of installation and uninstallation loop that has been created on my computer.  It continues to try to uninstall and install the software for the printer.  I am presently just ignoring the text boxes, and my computer is functioning fine.  However, operating this way is unacceptable in the long run.   Currently, there are two text boxes up.  One is titled "Installing Officejet 4500 G510g-m" and is stuck at the "removing HP software" step.  The second  text box is titled "The installation was not successful" and instructs me to follow 4 steps to gather information on why the installation failed.  The buttons at the bottom of the second text box only give me the option to continue or retry.  Either one puts me back in a loop that shuts down my computer and then tries to uninstall the software again.  A third little box shows the animated icon that represents a disc functioning, even though the disc is not in the computer.  All the while, the printer is working just fine.HELP!

I understand that the software package for your HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One C410 Printer is in an uninstalling loop on your computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this software issue. However, before I am able to accurately guide you to a solution I do need to clarify a couple of things.   (1) What Operating System are you using on your computer?  (2) Do you have a Fatal Error code appearing on your computer?   How to Locate Fatal Error Code:  Click Start ().In the search text box located right above Start after you click on it, type event viewer, and then press Enter. The Event Viewer opens.In the Event Viewer pane (on the left), click the arrow () next to Windows Logs.Under Windows Logs, click Application. The Event Viewer results display in the middle pane.In the Source column, find the most recent  Error entry from HP, and then click the error entry. The error details display in the General tab.In the General tab, look for a numbered code. This is the specific error message that you need for troubleshooting.Take note of the error code  Once I know exactly what Operating System you're using on your computer, and if your HP Installer is reporting a Fatal Error code I will be able to accurately guide you to a solution.     In trying to print a pdf file that is landscape, 2 pages per sheet, booklet format, I cannot get the print preview to show the correct layout.  I have tried all the options in the print menu, but either I get the pages in the incorrect order or I get what should be on the right side on the left side and vice versa. Of course, there is NO help in the Adobe knowledge base.  Has anyone else experienced this problem.  Is there a fix?  Additionally, Adobe wants me to pay $39 for assistance that they will not guarantee they can fix.  How crazy is that!

    I highly recommend Quite Imposing. It can create nearly any booklet you want as a pdf file. Then you will have no problem being sure it is what you want before you print to paper.

    When you click the download link on [http://getfirefox.com GetFirefox.com], you should be asked if you wish to Run or Save the file. If the described situation happens when trying to Run the download, try instead to Save it and put the file on your Desktop or a similar place where you are certain that you can find it again.
    When the download is complete, try double-clicking the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from My Computer). This should start the installation.
    If you notice in the Explorer window that the file seems to be lacking the Firefox orange/blue icon, rightclick the file and select Properties. The picture should look somewhat like the attached picture (except that mine's in danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it does NOT look like this, please describe the contents or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File type" - it should be "Program"; if it's not, we'll have to look into what the problem could be here.
    Slightly off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit out of date (IE 6, where current version is IE 8), so I would strongly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system updated. If this is a company system (like a Terminal Server thin client machine), this may not be possible, and your system administrator will most likely have to help you.

    It's exactly as I stated. Whenever I try to drag these kinds of loops (ESX24 / software instrument loops? the ones marked in green with the white music note next to them) from the loop browser into the timeline a message comes up saying Audio Not Found for that loop.  And a new track is created automatically when loops are dragged into the timeline, so I'm not creating some other random / synth instrument track so I'm not sure  what the deal is... But perhaps I'll try creating a software instrument track first and then drag the loop into that track and see what happens - maybe there's something with the default settings that automatically creates audio tracks whenever loops are imported?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're users here and do not speak for "Apple Inc."
    Some basic printer troubleshooting steps before worrying about a printer driver:
    1. Have you tried turning the printer off and back on?
    2A. Is the printer attached with a cable?
         If yes, have you tried unplugging and re-plugging both ends of the printer cable?
         If that does not help, can you test the printer with another cable?
    2B. If your printer is not connected to the computer with a cable, have you tried restarting your printer (assuming wireless connection)?
         Have you tried restarting your wireless router?
    3. Have you tried restarting your MacBook? (Be sure to save your work first.)
    4. Does the printer have ink? (Doesn't usually generate a 'communications error' though)
    5. Have you updated OS X or the program you're trying to print from recently?

    Problem started when I used Tech Tool Pro 6 to "de-fragment volume". Had to cancel that process before it finished because I ran out of time. Thereafter, when I startup my machine normally, I get the gray Apple logo at first, but it changes to a prohibited symbol (circle with a slash thru it) and hangs.
    When I startup holding the Option key, I can see my internal drive, but I get the same results as above.
    When I startup using the MacBook OSX Install DVD, it does not find my internal drive as possible destination.
    When I startup using the MacBook OSX Install DVD and then run Disk Utility, it finds my drive, allows me to "repair" and says everything is fine.
    When I startup with Command + S, I get a looping error message "errno = 19" and cannot stop it to do anything else.
    When I startup from Disk Warrior v4.4, it does not find my internal drive to do any repairs.
    When I startup from Tech Tool Pro 6 and run the "computer check" diagnostics, everything passes but the Volume Structure, which fails at "Volume Extents (B-tree)." When I use TTP's "Tools" option to run "volume repair" it will show my internal drive and allow me to click the GO button, but nothing happens and nothing changes.
    I have a Time Machine backup on an external USB drive, but for as long as the internal drive doesn't mount, I can't use the backup to restore.

    It's a false report and should be ignored.
    I would not rely on TT as I've already said earlier even before Grant posted similar advice.
    I really think the Rigid Disk Block may be corrupted. This holds the partition map and could prevent a volume from being unmounted. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix that without repartitioning the drive which will remove everything. So, before going down this road I hope you have backups or can make a backup.
    Drive Partition and Format
    1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.
    5. Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

    You might want to repair Acrobat from the 'Help' menu and check if it installs the pdf printer back or not.

  • The only working print-related function in BioBench1.2 on my PC is the "Print Report", all the other "Print" functions gave me "Error, the printer is not set up correctly".

    I used to print all my BioBench data by first exporting them to Excel and then print from there. Recently I need to print some of the screen shots and some data directly from array analysis, but when I click on the "print" buttons, the "Error, the printer is not set up correctly" message occurs. The only thing I can print from BB without this error is the report printing function. I have a postcript printer and I have set the postscript option to be "true"... Thanks !

    This problem is a result of a limitation in Windows 9x regarding the size of an image that you can send to the printer. The problem does not occur on Windows 2000/NT. This problem appeared with the increased color options of LabVIEW 6.0 on which the BB1.2 is based.Although it is not immediately obvious, your video driver and settings play a role in printing.
    1. Try adjusting the color palette your driver uses (i.e., 256 color, high olor, true color). The error may occur only in one of these modes. Also, change the resolution (number of pixels) to represent the Screen Area; e.g., change from a 1024 x 768 display to an 800 x 600 pixel display.
    2.Certain video drivers also support "acceleration" modes. Using a non-accelerated mode often eliminates the error. For
    Windows 95/98, right-click on your My Computer icon and select "Properties" from the pop-up
    menu. On the Performance tab, click the Graphics button and change the Hardware Acceleration (e.g., if it is set to "Full", lower the setting a notch or two); for Windows 2000/NT, right-click on your Desktop and select "Properties" from the pop-up menu. On the Settings tab, click the Advanced button and go to
    Troubleshooting.
    3.In Windows, the standard VGA driver provided by the operating system is very stable. Try using this driver in place of the specific one written for your video hardware. If the error is eliminated, there is likely a problem with your vendor-provided video driver.
    4.These errors are most often fixed with the latest
    video/printer driver. Be sure to contact your hardware manufacturer and install the latest driver. An easy way to determine if your error is "driver-related" is to move your code to another machine (and hopefully a different set of drivers) and see if th
    e error persists. If the problem is printer related, try another printer.
    5.Make sure there are at least 100M avalible space in your C: drive. If not, set the virtual memory to the other drive which has larger available space.

    If you use your netbook to print through the Wireless, be aware that Windows 7 Started eddition only support printing through a direct USB connection, network communication with the printer is not supported by the OS:

    If it is connected through the network, plug a USB between the laptop and the printer, then try printing and check for any difference.

    Do you have the receipt? If you have proof of ownership, you _may_ be able to persuade Customer Support to help you out.  I imagine you would need to scan and email that proof if it works at all.

    If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out.  First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)?  Second, who is the maker of your router?  Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

    Hi, Thanks for that further bug description In Your Last Message That Describes The Problem I Am Having perfectly and is exactly the same for me.
    unfortunately that fix for my camera Powershot G6 does not work or apply as the view pictures switch is different on G6 is not usable during download as once you plug in DC/USB cable it turns off, and makes no diff and problem still exists exactly as you just described.

    it has been 17 days since apple promised to get back to me within 3-5 days hopefully with a solution, but I have still not heard from them.
    They blew me off, i guess, probably i will have to wait for new Yosemite OS update, which they pre-warned me could take as much as 6 months.
    I cannot believe apple released this new update with such major bug issues for camera downloads and that horrible "Photos" pgm which has all sorts of downgrades in features, usefulness and new bugs compared to iPhotos which I just finally got used to and was much better software.
    I am starting to lose faith in Apple and I am getting that Microsoft "FEEL" like I used to have when I was a PC user, which was why I originally switched to Apple  computers in first place.
    Oh well got my fingers crossed here.
    Thankfully the memory card reader solution  is working well, but cost me $45.
