Printer wants me to load paper when there's plenty already there

I have an Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless.  Every now and then it hangs up on a print job, telling me I need to load paper in the tray even though there's lots of paper already there.  I have only one tray, but apparently some of these printers have the capacity for two.  Maybe that's a part of the problem?   I've tried everything I can think of.   By the way, is there some way to send an email to HP describing the problem, or are we on our own as customers?  Anyway, I'd appreciate advice if anyone has any.  Thanks.

This document has several solutions which may be of use.

In addition the type of paper you are using can affect how well the printer picks it up. Recycled paper, while great for the environment doesn’t always pick correctly in printers. If you are using recycled paper try regular paper instead.

  • Printer says to load paper when I have paper in paper tray

My HP officejet J6480 all in one printer keeps saying I'm out of paper when I try to print, but I have paper in the paper tray and have been printing for quite awhile with this printer before.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver, HP diagnostic tool, HP update, and turning printer off and on.  The paper isn't crinkled, so I don't know whats wrong with it.

Try the troubleshooting steps in the document.

I have been using our HP1300 All in One Inkjet printer for many years.  Now when I 'print' no ink comes out onto the page!  The printer behaves completely normally and 'prints' the correct number of pages etc. but no ink comes out!  I have changed the cartridges but to no avail.  Could anyone suggest what the problem might be please?

When I try to print from my printer it will say "Out of Paper" even though there is a full stack of paper in the printer. I tried lowering the stack to see if that would work and it didnt. How do I fix this problem?

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? (There are a number of Photosmart Premium models).

  • Offline Browsing - Safari insists on re-loading even when there is Internet

Safari insists on re-loading web pages when offline. I have cleared the cache, etc. and otherwise reset Safari, and it seems to work for a short while, but eventually Safari is back to its old tricks every time I switch to another web page or application, and insists on re-loading a page or pages that were already loaded.
This is most frustrating. It happens whether or not I have an Internet connection or not. Case in point, I had loaded a number of web pages of newsgroups and articles I wanted to read on the plane, as well as my e-mail. Got on the plane, played a game, checked my mail, replied to some to be sent when I was again connected to the Internet, then switched over to read the webpages I had cached, and BOOM, every single one of them reloaded to blank pages indicating that the Internet was not available. pressing the back button just resulted in the same message.
What is up with this? Is there a way to disable Safari from forced re-loads? Remember the good old days of the save for off-line browsing button?
Or is this just poor memory management? Does the iPad not have enough RAM to support its abilities? Are the multi-tasked apps loaded into RAM the culprit? If so should I force-quit all loaded apps before I start caching web pages? And if thats the case is there a way to force-quit all open apps rather than go through each one?

Yikes!! It's Steve Jobs' 128K Macintosh all over again!! At least there are no endless floppy swaps!
Thanks, I figured that was the case. So basically, it's not all the web pages I have open, but all the RAM being tied up in something else. I suspect multi-tasking is a bad thing for off-line browsing. I will try quitting everything I am not using which is open in the background ... And here's where Apple should have included an all quit option. However, I think the bigger problem with Safari, is that it does not store the cached pages on the flash drive, but only in RAM, so unlike an e-mail draft, which will be there even if Mail crashes, the cache disappears as soon as the RAM runs low. This is really unacceptable. If this is how it's going to work, they need to bring back the "save for offline reading" option.
For now, I'm starting to think there should be a memory monitor app, so that users can address these kinds of issues.

  • HP7780: Problem with ADF - "Original loaded" message when there's nothing loaded

After two weeks away, and the 7780 turned off for two weeks, I switch on to find that I've got a message of "original loaded" on the screen on the machine.  (there's no document in the ADF or on the flat bed.).  I can't scan from the flat bed, or copy, as "it believes" that there is a document loaded.
I *think* its something to do with a sensor that is making it think that a document is loaded.  I can print fine.
I've clean the rollers, and followed the video on checking the ADF.
I've restarted it and reset it
    And still nothing.
I'm sure its something v simple.  Help?

since no one responded I assume you just chucked it out the window...where it belongs i guess. It is NOT something simple...it is something dumb.

  • Getting: Do you want to save changes? When there are no changes?

Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Production)
    Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64bit Production
I have a form that always prompts me if I want to save changes after querying a record and then exiting or trying a new query. I cannot figure out what changes it is asking if I want to save as nothing has been changed on the form. Is there a way to track what is causing this or where it is coming from?

Are the "Non-Database" items part of a base table block? If so, when you assign a value to these items - even though they are non-database items - Forms will record that the something in >the block has changed. Hi Craig, thats not true. You can change non-db-items in a base-table-block without the record-status beeing changed. Changeing the record-status only happens when the property "Lock record" is set to true, or if there is a WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM-trigger on the non-db-item which changes a db-item.
You should always have put non-base table items in a Control Block.Thats also not true. You have non-base-table-items in nearly every basetable-block, think of all the lookup-items. How would you synchronize records in your db-block and your control-block?

  • How do I install my new printer software on my macbook air when there is not a disk drive?

I recently got a new hp all in one printer but the software for it comes on a disk but the macbook air does not have a disk drive..

If "plan A" is unsuccessful, you can download the driver from the printer manufacturers website. You can also share another computer's dvd drive.
And you may want to consider buying a MacBook Air external Superdrive from Apple for $79.00. Maybe its not necessary now, you may find some software that will make it handy. Or use the drive to rip DVD's and CD's.

  • Printing is Purple/Brown on paper when Red on computer screen

My OS is Windows 7 (64Bit) - Printer is Officejet Pro 8000 A809n. My problem is that during the last two days any red colouring shown on the computer screen is reproduced as a Purple/Brown colour on the printed page. The colour Management setting on the computer is Name: NEC MultiSync EA261wm - File name: ea261wm7.icm
I'm unable to ascertain the colour settings for the printer. If anybody has experienced similar mismatch problems and can offer a solution I would be grateful

I'm seeing this same problem happen on multiple platforms here in the office. Every time this happens, the screen view does not show these shapes. I have been seeing the same problem except linework will be missing in one of these square shapes as well. Please give feedback if anyone knows what causes this problem. One thing to note -  these squares are the size and placement of a selection box within acrobat.  For example, if i use the selection tool and click near where the problem printed out, the shaded area that gets selected is in the exact same spot and is the exact size.@

  • 'Load Paper' error message even when paper is loaded in the front load tray

    Load Paper Error message -
Printer type: HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless All-in-One Printer
(possibly other HP printers as well)
This 'How-To' article will help you solve a 'Load Paper' error message even though there is paper in the front load tray. You can read this helpful article at http://mikeyates.com/wordpress/?cat=187
This could also help other HP printers with no easy access to the drop down type rollers located inside the printer.
Would appreciate any feedback if this worked for you or not.
    Thanks

This is what I found: printer eventually wants to see color ink after running months without.  Steps I followed were: remove ink cartridges. Remove printer head (raise handle at left) and clean (slosh bottom) in hot water, (did it 3 times) and wipe clean.  Replace with new/full color ink cartridges and black if it's got ink still. Run clean printer head program from panel continuously until you start seeing good solid ink flowing on test paper, may even run alignment program at this point.  Turn off printer, if you get Load paper error, hit OK, allow alignment to run, and if heads have been previously cleaned satisfactorily (all colors show up), alignment will show success, and the next time you start printer, no more load paper error.  Point being, the printer eventually wants to see or will look for color ink and in particular, cyan necessary for the alignment page, and without this the program will aparently project a load paper error and alignment failure.  (which you can get aroung by keep hitting OK and cancelling the alignment)!  This totally cured by problem of load paper and alignment failure.  Good luck and be patient, it may take some time to effective clean, I went through all color ink and will have to purchase more !

  • Solar cell charging battery and load at the same time When there is Sun , When there is no sun , the battery take over and power up the Load

    Hi
Im currently doing a project using LabVIEW and myDAQ where i have to use the solar cell to charge the battery and turn on the load ( LED) when there is light
and once the the solar cell is unable to detect the light , the battery will power the load instead of the solar cell
i am having some problems with labview programing ( unable to work )
Does anyone has something similar that i could reference to ?
    Thanks

Good to see that you found the LabVIEW forum, but you have not added any more information than what you posted on the Reddit LabVIEW forum.
The people here will also need more information about what is not working, be as specific as possible.  I will also repeat that you can replace the inputs with controls and the outputs to indicators so you have more control over the code to test it.  Then introduce the real IO when you have the code working like you want it to.

  • Hp officejet 7110 wont print on 11 x 17 paper

I just boughht a new computer with Windows 8.1.  Set up the Officejet 7110 but cant find an option to print on 11 x 17 paper.  There was an option on my old computer to print on Tabloid 11 x 17 paper, but it's not listed on the drop down menu now.  Any idea's?
    Thanks.

    Hi @terribletiger
It is odd that the Tabloid 11 x 17 paper is not listed on the drop down menu. Let's remove the printer from the computer and reinstall it using the Printer Install Wizard.
    Step 1   Remove the printer;
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
Tap or click PC and devices.
If you're removing a wired or network device, tap or click Devices. If you're removing a Bluetooth enabled device, tap or click Bluetooth.
Tap or click the device you want to remove, and then tap or click Remove device or Remove.
    - Source
    Step 2   Install the printer
Download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
Step 3 Check your settings for Tabloid 11 x 17
    Step 4   Let me know

  • PLEASE HELP! - Printing Yellow on Brown Kraft Paper

Please, please help!! I am sooooo frustrated right now! For starters, I'm a bit beyond intermediate Photoshop user (10yrs of habitual use). I NEED to print yellow on brown kraft paper. There's no alternative. I have to or I'm going to have one VERY upset client. Really hoping someone out there can help me very soon or it's going to cost me lots of $$$ when I have to fake it and print the entire brown kraft-pattern background on white paper just to get the yellow to show (picture one, small yellow key on a full sheet of brown kraft paper)
Here's the skinny..... I obviously have chosen to have photoshop control the color management. The closest I have come is to use the printing profile: Japan Color 2002 Newspaper without black point compensation (I think I used Relative Compensation). The only way I can get the yellow to show on the brown is to actually PRINT a brown paper background ON TOP of the brown colored paper. Obviously, this is causing the brown paper to look quite dark. The yellow is perfect and I've now lost every other color (Navy & 3 shades of Gray). They're all dull against the multi-layered brown. I have tried manipulating the yellow to be more green or more orange and sure enough, they turn out looking green or orange. Should I switch to CMYK instead of RGB? If orange is a variation of brown, why does orange show up on brown so much easier than yellow?
Is there a way to manipulate the newspaper profiles to adjust for browner paper rather than grayer paper?
I am sooo close but I literally cannot figure this out!! Please tell me there's a color profile combination I'm not aware of..... and please don't tell me that printing yellow on brown is impossible After all, we're photoshop users. It's possible; just have to figure out how.
    Sincerely, One Desperate Designer

You may ask your printer whether he can use opaque yellow ink:
    https://www.google.de/search?hl=de&as_q=&as_epq=opaque+yellow+ink&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as _nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=&as_occt=any&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=
Standard offset ink is transparent. The reflected light is always darker than the substrate.
    Best regards --Gernot Hoffmann
