Printer will not make the final connection to the network
HP Photosmart c4580 all in one printer

using the HP add a device wizard, everything proceeds til the final install on the network. a big red X shows up with a message that it can't find the printer on the network this happens with and without the USB connection. all firewalls are turned off.. i have entered the network SSID into the printer configuration settings.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

That's not good! What happens when you attempt to make the connection? Do you receive an error message? What device is the computer making a connection to? Send details please.

I have an airport extreem network that works with my two MacBooks and a iMAC. I am having no luck in getting a PC (IBM ThinkPad0 that has the PC airport software to be recognized by the network. Any suggestions?
When you introduced the AirPort Extreme, you had a condition where you have two routers in series. The simpliest solution is to reconfigure the downstream router (in this case the Extreme) as a bridge. This will allow the upstream router to provide the required NAT & DHCP services to all network clients regardless of which router they are connected to.
To reconfigure the Extreme as a bridge, you will use the AirPort Utility. (Note: I will provide the steps for using AirPort Utility v5.x)
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup
Internet > Internet Connection tab > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode) -
Printer will not make 4x6 size photos
I just bought an HP Photosmart 8250 printer and I cannot print the 4x6 size photos. The printer instead pulls paper from the letter size tray. I believe it is a problem with the computer because I was able to print a 4x6 photo with just the memory card in the printer and all hook-ups to the computer detached. As far as I know, I have selected the right size paper wherever given the choice. In Mac System Preferences however, I cannot change the "Default Paper Size in Page Setup" to a 4x6 size. Is this the root of my problem? If not, what is?

I think I might know how to fix the probem you are having. I too, just purchased an HP 8250 printer. I found that I had to go into the Advanced menu on the Print dialog box. Pick "Paper Type/Quality" and choose the Photo tray. The default is the "Main Tray" which typically holds your 8 1/2 by 11 paper.
That should have the printer pull from the proper paper tray (4x6 photo tray).
I am using the 4x6 Borderless photo paper that has a removable tab. (didn't now that until I bought it.) However, I'm still having problems getting the printer to print a true borderless print. The only way it will without giving me a white border on the left and right "landscape" or 4" edges is if I pick "Zoom and Crop" which then will do that to the picture.
If you are having that problem or if you know how to fix it, would you let me know. the one thing I am finding with this HP printer and my Mac, is that there are way too many steps when wanting to print a photo from your computer. It's a bit frustrating. I have yet to try printing from a memory card as I have always just printed directly from iPhoto. (previously used an Epson 1280)

Oh... the Cloud is not supported on WinXP, so it would seem that you do not have an Adobe problem, you have a printer or WinXP problem

Printer will not recognize wireless router
Printer was previsously working fine. Moved and network changed via AT&T Uverse and the HP 5530 printer will not recognize the wireless router information. I have uninstalled the printer from my ASUS laptop and tried to re-install to no avail. The cd that came with the printer woould not lnstall the printer again. The printer is less than a year old. I have no idea what is going on. Can you help me fix this problem?

My hp c4599 printer will not connect to my wireless network
My hp c4599 printer will not connect to my wireless network or show up on my computer during the installation even though it is usb connected. But it managed to create its own network where i can print wirelessly by selecting it sort of like bluetooth… I have installed different softwares from the hp website and looked at so many different forums but i cant find the answer. I have reset the printer and wireless network and god knows whatelse. I can also print fine through the usb cable, it just will not connect to my wireless network. I am going crazy P.S. once upon a time it was connected to my wireless network but i cant remember what happened.

To reset the printing system:
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Scan from the View menu.
Hold down the Option key while clicking the "-" (Remove printer) button. If no printers are currently added, hold down the Control key while clicking in the box that appears above the "+" (Add printer) button, then choose Reset printing system… from the contextual menu.
When you've done the above you'll need to re-add the printer by clicking the + (Add printer) -
Printer will not connect wirelessly / HP installer network ui plugin has stopped
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my Photosmart software multiple times in an effort to connect the printer to my wireless network (WEP). Each time I try, the software installs but will not allow me to connect the printer to my wireless network. I've installed with my firewall off and on, but nothing works.
I continue to get an error that says "HP Installer Network UI Plugin has stopped". It will connect via USB cable, but that's not what I'm hoping to do.

Can i install windows 7 via bootcamp (on my MB Air) while using remote disc? I put the windows 7 disk in my macbook pro drive, and connect to my brand new macbook air via remote disk. In bootcamp (on my air) i allocate the partition, then i click install, and bootcamp will not see the disk from my macbook pro's drive. How do i get the bootcamp assistant running on my MB air to automatically find the disk in my macbook pro with the ISO image of windows 7? The remote disk on my air can find the cd but bootcamp will not begin installing it. Anyway to do this without buying the damned usb drive?
I don't know first hand if you can use the Remote Disk option with Windows but as of 10.7.2 you can now use BCAssistant to make a bootable USB (thumb drive or external disk) W7 installer with the Boot Camp drivers installed also. Have you tried that yet?
