Printer won't grab paper correctly (after being shipped)

I moved recently, and shipped my HP DF340 Deskjet All-in-One parcel post to my new address. When I try to use it, it makes a loud noise, and the paper curls up on the right-hand side of the tray. In other words, whatever is preventing it from loading (grabbing) the paper correctly seems to be coming from the right-hand side.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

The printer may have a hardware issue that has developed in the paper feed mechanism.

  • My iPhone4 won't turn on even after being charged for 1 hour and when I plug it into my computer nothing happens

My iPhone4 won't turn on even after being charged for 1 hour and when I plug it into my computer nothing happens. PLEASE HELP

I have a similar (if not the exact same) problem! Here are some more details if they are helpful.
My iPhone 4 died earlier today and will not turn back on. It seemed that the battery died while it was not in use. I attempted to charge it on one charging cord in multiple wall outlets and none worked. Assuming it was a malfunction in the cord, I took my phone home to try charging it there.
Again, I attempted charging it in multiple outlets with a different cord than previously used. None of these seemed to work, though they would flash the Connect to Power screen for a brief moment before returning to a black screen. I assumed that my phone was simply so depleted of battery that it needed a long charge.
I charged it for 30+ minutes without any success, then attempted to charge it through my MacBook instead of through a wall outlet. iTunes did not even recognize that my phone plugged in (and still hasn't). I've attempted charging it for an extended period of time (1+ hour) with no luck. Sometimes when I press the Power button it will flash the Connect to Power screen once more before returning to black.
The Apple logo never appears, nor does any apparent progress on charging. I have attempted holding down the Power and Home buttons simultaneously for 10 - 30 second increments. Still no luck. There is no reason anything should be happening with this phone that I can identify.
I have no warranty and just recently replaced my previous phone which had had similar problems before completely crashing. This is a phone new to me that was previously used but in almost new conditions and factory reset by Apple prior to my purchase.
Does this mean that my phone battery is dead?
Is there anything else I can do??

  • PDF won't display correctly after being sent from iPad/iPhone

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help me, we have a PDF come in to one of our users outlook accounts, it opens fine on the computer. However, he has then proceeded to forward this to a colleague through his iPad and when the colleague opens it on their computer, it gives an error message 'Insufficient Data for an Image'. From here the PDF doesn't display correctly, whereby it only shows when scrolled halfway down the page, when you scroll back up all information dissapears as though it were a blank page.
FYI the software we are using to open the PDF is Adobe Reader, which we updates to the latest version to test for this issue. In short, when opened on the local computer it works fine, but as soon as it is forwarded from an iPad it won't open properly (the document opens fine on the ipad before it is sent). I have also tested this through my iPhone and i get the same issue.
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Any chance that a Microsoft Exchange Server is in the mix? Could depend on what version of exchange is used.
You will need to try a work-around. Apple seems slow on fixing this issue.

  • Ever since the new update, my Ipod won't sync. Starts to sync but then goes back to connected eject before disconnecting. Still won't transfer songs even after being restored. Restored fine. But now I've got nothing on it. Please god help!

For awhile, since the newest update, I'd noticed when charging the ipod (classic) that it stopped going to the charging screen and would stay on the  Connected: Eject before disconnecting' screen. But, y'know, didn't matter to me, it still charged... until today when I tried to add music. Tried it many times, reset it... STILL wouldn't transfer songs... It would 'say' it was syncing, but then suddenly stop and stay on the same Connect: please eject before disconnecting' page. I did a couple of times get a message about scanning it but, after restoring that never popped up again...
So, I do a system restore on it and ofcourse THAT works, but it STILL won't sync! So, now I've got an ipod with no music that won't sync and because it's all gone on there, I'm not sure how to back up my stuff (should I need to re-install iTunes... Though I doubt it'd work...)... So, yeah, I tried a different cable too, still no luck...
There has GOT to be some way to fix this!
Please somebody help me out! I so freaking appreciate it you have NO idea!

I think the problem is that the iPod got set to Manually manage music and videos.  It needs to be set up for automatic syncing again.  Just unchecking that Manually manage music and videos setting does not do it.
In iTunes 12, select the iPod in iTunes (using the device button), so that you see the iPod's "management" screen.  In the sidebar (along left side of screen), there are two headings (Settings and On My Device).  Under Settings, click on Music.  To the right, you see the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box at the top for Sync Music.  That turns ON automatic syncing for music.  Below that, choose the option to sync Entire music library (assuming your music library fits completely on your iPod).  Otherwise, you can choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres and make your selections below.  Then click Apply.

  • "print won't fit paper"

I attempted to print a photo from iPhoto and was met with this message in red: "The selected print size will not fit the current paper size". No matter what size paper I select,4X6, 8X10 or letter it doesn't change. Then if I proceed anyway the next thing that comes up is the wiggly rod with the "processing" banner under, overlaid with a block saying no subject has been selected. In Page Setup, reducing to 75% doesn't change anything. Odd, since I've printed from iPhoto before and never seen this problem. Is there a logical solution?

  • Netbook Asus : won't turn off correctly after suspend/resume

    Hello,
I don't know if it is Archlinux related as I did not test it recently with others distributions, but I did not have this problem one year ago with Archlinux. Probably it appeared with one of the updates, but I can't tell when or what.
I have a netbook Asus EEEPC 1005P. Everything works fine, I can turn it off correctly if I don't close the lid when on battery.
If I do close the lid when on battery, (using laptop-mode and acpi-eeepc-generic, as suggested in the wiki), the netbook goes on suspend. It is the default behavior, and nothing is wrong here. I can use it correctly when re-opening it. But then it won't shutdown correctly.
When turning it off (by pushing the power button, or launching the command "halt" or "dbus-send [blabla-freedesktop-consolekit].Stop"), the system starts stopping the daemon, and then the screen goes all fuzzy, lines and pixels fly and blink all over the screen. And it becomes impossible to turn the computer off, even when pressing the power button down for five (or more) seconds. I have to take the battery off.
Does anyone have the same problem ? (and/or know how to remove it)
    Thanks a lot,
    Regards,
    kholo

I had a similar problem that was caused by a wireless usb card in the netbook. Maybe look at the modules loaded for wifi and unload it manually before doing a suspend and see if the problem continues.

    Hi,
What is the exact paper type?
The printer specifications does not list Glossy Paper as a supported media, any supported media is listed under Paper-handling specifications > Supported photo paper:

What is the exact media type and weight, that may also help identifyig the issue, the exact paper type should be listed on its packaging...

  • Laptop screen won't turn back on after being waked up from pm-suspend

I installed pm-utils and acpid to make my laptop sleep when the lid is shut.
To do this I altered my /etc/acpi/handler.sh to look like this
    http://pastebin.com/9DgQQ30Z
    Changing lines 57, 58 and 59 to:
    button/lid)
    #echo "LID switched!">/dev/tty5
    /usr/sbin/pm-suspend
    esac
The laptop suspends completely fine, and the power light turns from a solid light to flashing. But when I open the lid, the laptop wakes up fine, except for the screen which just stays completely black.
I can't do anything to get it back on, I even can't switch to any virtual terminals, forcing me to to a hard reboot.
This happens also when I just run "sudo pm-suspend" normally with the lid open and use the power button to wake back up. Wakes up fine except for the screen.

First thing that would be helpful to know would be to know what kind of computer you have (e.g. model).
I actually had an identical problem with my laptop. It ended up being an issue with the wireless drivers included in the kernel. Ultimately had to blacklist them and install the ones from the vendor's website. Anyways, start with the model, and we can try to help you from there

  • Mail not working correctly after being opened by another App

So I first noticed this issue when I went to send some photos from Aperture, once I had hit send in the new message window the main screen of Mail appeared to be fine but I was unable to click on anything other than the menu bar, not only that, the message I had successfully sent was nowhere to be found in my sent box. It might be worth noting that I had first tried this after upgrading my MacBook with Crucial RAM and a Seagate Momentus XT HD. But since this I have tried everything:
First, I repaired disk permissions and checked all the preferences.
Second, seeing as I had previously recovered my old HD to my new one via Time Machine, and due to other issues, I though there might have been a corruption in the backup so I took the time to Clean install (where Lion was re-downloaded too), setup as new, and even create a new Aperture library.
Finally, I have reset the PRAM and attempted an Apple Hardware Test, which led me to another concern as on 3 occasions when starting up and holding down D it had a think about it but went to OS X and did not connect to the Apple servers for the AHT (as I have a Lion pre-installed Mac this should work?)
I have since checked out other things and have found that this issue also happens when sharing a contact from the Address Book but NOT when sharing a document from iWork. I have also noticed that Mail is still controllable from the keyboard when locked out from the mouse.
This isn't all I use my Mac for and isn't massively important but I'll be damned if I don't find out why only my Mac does this!
Please can anyone shed some more light onto what is causing this?
And why can't I perform a hardware test?

  • Ipod nano won't sync with windows after being used with a mac

how can i sync my ipod with my new windows based laptop after using an old mac for years? it says it will erase my library if i sync.

Connecting to a new computer will always erase your device first. But you can copy your music bought in iTunes before, if you disable autosync in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices, right click on your iPod in the device list and choosing "transfer purchases".
After your songs are copied, let iTunes set it up again and sync the music back again.

  • MacBook Pro won't reconnect to wifi after being closed or put on sleep

I have a 2011 13.5 inch MacBook Pro, since updating to 10.7.5, it will allow me to connect to my wifi manually, but after I close the lid/screen or put it into sleep mode, when it loads back up it will not automatically connect to my wifi again. but when I put the password back in it will connect, how can i change it so it doesn't need the password each time? my iphone and Ipad had a similar problem but they eventually stopped asking.
    Thanks.

Finally this is solved for me.  I have a Macbook Pro w/Retnia 2013 model.  I tried everything I could think of and read in the forums:
deleting all the plist files in SystemConfiguration (some never returned - don't know why, but hasn't caused an issue)
    Reset the SMC
    Reset the PRAM
    Changed the Network Location
Disabled Wake for WiFi in Energy Saver
Removed all WiFi settings and reset them up
changed the order of when bluetooth is enabled vs. connecting to WiFi (I don't remember the specifics on this one)
and some more things I don't even remember
Nothing worked.  I had called support a few times and they were not able to help until another try on 4/14/14.
The fix that worked for me was to stop using a 2.4GHz router and use a 5GHz instead.  For me this was easy because I have a dual band wireless router.  I was connecting to the 2.4GHz transmission and was easily able to switch to 5GHz.  (for the differences: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24246/~/what-is-the-difference-bet ween-2.4-ghz-%26-5ghz%3F).
The last person at Apple told me it was documented in his knowledge base that 5GHz is the preferred wireless band and the 2.4GHz will cause issues with bluetooth.
If you are in the same boat as me, feel like you have tried everything, maybe this will work for you too.

  • On battery MBP won't go to sleep after being inactive for 5 minutes

Okay so in energy saver under system preferences, I have it setup so that the computer should go to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity when running on battery power. However multiple times I have left teh computer on battery only to come back in a few hours and the MBP was still on and not sleeping. I had itunes and safari open, but itunes wasn't playing any music. What does it take for the computer to be "inactive". Do I have to close all of my applications?

I have had similar issues with this. Seems the:
    Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist
Gets corrupted and must be trashed, reboot reset PRAM and reset your power management settings.
    I hope this helps.

  • MBP won't pick up network after being turned off

    Good morning.
My new MBP is working great and I love it. The only thing that I having some problems with is getting it to remember my network connection when it is turned off and back on.
Here's what I have set up. I have a wireless network in my home with WEP encryption and my SSID is not transmitted.
If I go up to the network (antenna) symbol at the top of the screen, click on it and choose other network, enter my SSID and the WEP password, it connects and stays connected.
If I turn off my MBP and then back on either immediately, later in the day or another day, I have to go through this process again. It doesn't seem to remember by settings for my network. My wife's and my daughter's ibooks both remember the settings. Can't think of what I might be doing wrong here.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

The password for the wireless router is out of sync (corrupted). To remedy the situation you can delete the offending keychain item from the system keychain. You can't view the passwords for items within the system keychain, but you can delete an item so it can be recreated.
The trick is to delete the keychain item in the system keychain for the resource that's giving you the trouble, e.g. Airport network password.
    1. Open the Keychain Access program
    2. Select System keychain.
    3. Select the keychain item you want to delete, and choose Delete from the Edit menu (you will be prompted for an admin password).
    4. Restart
    5. Next time you enter the password to access the wireless network (or resource) and save to keychain, the item will be recreated.
