Power off the pc and the printer, then load them both back up. This should hopefully clear it from memory if it is getting stuck somewhere.

  • 1102W printer won't stop printing

My 1102w wireless printer works fine from the host PC (HP Pavillion) using Win Vista64.
I have an Acer notebook (Win7 Home Premuim with all updates) which has the latest HP software for the 1102w installed.  When I select a text file to print from the notebook, it prints just fine but will not stop.  For example, when
printing a one-page document the one page will continuously print until I shut down the printer
and cancel the print job.  With the Print Status display shown, the document queued for printing will
never go away.  It's as if the software is never recognizing the End of File character.
I did do a search on this forum for something similar to this problem but didn't see any posts that applied.  Thanks
    for any help.

Disable the "Enable bidirectional support" in the P1102w Properties > Ports.

  • Hp photosmart 8250 printer won't stop printing

my photosmart printer, no matter how many copies I am trying to print, will print until the paper runs out.  I have wasted so much paper, thinking it will print the picture I want to print and stop.

My Photosmart C309a does something similar but I am printing a multiple page pdf. I've gone to so many forums and tried so many different work arounds, all to no avail. I am convinced the HP software is junk.
Temporary fixes I have tried are:
go to c\windows\system32\spool\printers and delete whatever files are in there. Next,  go to Admin tools>services>print spooler and click on properties tab. Set it to automatic. Remote Procedure Call (RPC) also needs to be runnung. Just look a little further down on the services list and you'll see it. Set for automatic also. Then uninstall and reinstall your print software.
I have found that the printer behaves normally for a while, but then it forgets to talk nice to Windows and starts messing up again. Hopefully this helps. Good luck.

When I send a print job to the 1102W wireless printer requesting one copy, it prints continuous copies until the printer runs out of paper. Help! I'm running out of paper and toner...
Happens from both my computers: one using Windows XP and the other using Windows 7.

This can often occur depending on how the network installation was done.  Usually, there shouldn't be any issues if  you utilized the Smart Install or ran the network install from the CD.  Can run into problems with a Standard TCP/IP port configuration if the driver was added another way.
Give the following a try.  Basically disable the "bidirectional support" setting in the driver.  Here is a link to a doc:

  • Test page won't stop printing

I have a Hp psc 1315 all-in-one and it won't stop printing a test page everytime I turn it on.  I have had this printer for 5 years and it did this once before but I can't remember how I fixed it.  I followed the directions over and over and scanned the document after it printed and it still won't stop.  I'm getting sick of wasting ink and paper, any suggestions??

It's the alignment page that keeps printing. Check the link below. You need to scan the alignment page successfully so that it won't keep on printing it everytime you restart printer.
    Cause
The product aligns the print cartridges every time at cartridge installation or replacement to ensure the highest-quality prints. The alignment page continues to print when the product is turned on or off, or when a print job is started, for any of the reasons below.
The alignment process is not complete.
The ink cartridges are not properly installed.
The ink cartridges need to be replaced.
The product needs to be serviced

  • HP 6310 allinone won't stop printing deleted job

Wireless network HP 6310 all in one printer,
Our operating system is Windows 7.
My husband sent a print job to the printer from the internet.  It printed multiple times and would not stop.  I tried the following to get it to stop printing:
deleted the job from the queue
cancelled the job at the printer
turned the printer off and on
    unplugged the printer
reinstalled a new version of the printer
    It still won't stop printing.
    Please help!

    Hi @dionysusthewino ,
I see that the printer is printing out blank pages and won't stop. I would be happy to help you.
Clear out the print queue on the computer.
    Then power cycle the printer.
Restore the printer back to factory settings, if you are still having issues. If the printer is networked though, you will have to set it up again.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.

  • HP 7520 won't stop printing

    Hi,
I have an HP 7520 with two issues occurring at once: it won't stop printing and it won't connect to web services. This is a recent problem.
I've read through the various self-help posts, but I can't get the printer to stop printing (or the message screen to stay in menu mode) long enough to select the tools menu.
All the pages keep printing with only one line, which reads "CONNECT xmpp008.hpeprint.com:80 HTTP/1.0".
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    KMK

    Hello  @klauskokott ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that your printer can't connect to the Web Services.
    I would like to help.
It sounds like the printer is making a partial contention to the servers.
Just enough of a connection to cause it to try and print the web services information page, but not enough to actually print the page and confirm the connection. This would be why is keeps trying to print the web services page, but you instead get the weird 'CONNECT xmpp008.hpeprint.com:80 HTTP/1.0'.
I would first try resetting the network.
Simply turn your printer and other network devices off.
Unplug the power to the router for at least one minute.
Plug the power back into the router and turn on your network devices.
If that does not resolve the issue, try setting a manual DNS.
The following reply by happytohelp01 has instructions for setting the manual DNS.
It is for a 7510, but the process will be very similar.
Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint several times
Pleas let me know how things work out, or let me know if you need any further help.

  • Laserjet 6P won't stop printing - prints a line of junk on each page -not connected to network or PC

My HP Laserjet 6P won't stop printing.  It prints a few lines of symbols and characters at the top of each page.  The printer is not connected to a network or computer.  I tried shutting the printer off for a long time.   This started when I tried printing from a MAC to the printer, but now there is nothing connected to the printer.
Any suggestions for resetting, etc.?   I don't know how to reset this printer so I haven't tried anything with the various buttons, etc.

  • HP Laserjet P1102w won't stop printing

I've just installed an HP Laserjet P1102w from the disk and it won't stop printing. I've disabled the bidirectional support and gotten rid of all other HP devices on my laptop but it still keeps going - just printing blank page after blank page. How can I stop this?

  • HP Laserjet 400 M401n won't stop printing when more than 1 copy is specified

I use this HP Laserjet printer on a network. It's brand new. I print from both Macbook Pro and / or Mac Pro running OS 10.9.5. Downloaded and installed latest HP printer driver.
Problem: I can print 1 page just fine. But when I specify more than that, the printer will not stop printing copies for the number I specified. I have to press the cancel button to stop it. I have tried resetting the printer. No luck.

    I don't use spell catcher.
I found a workaround posted elsewhere in the Apple discussion forum. When going through the printing dialog boxes, select Preview and print whatever number of pages I need from that window. It works fine so I'll use that method until a future Mac OS X update fixes the problem.
The security update for OS X on 3-1-06 didn't fix the problem even after I repaired permissions.
    Thanks for responding.

  • Airprint won't stop printing

Everytime I print from one of my IOS devices, my printer will not stop printing the iDevice continues to send the job to the printer. I have to turn the device off in order for the printer to stop printing.
    Any thoughts?
    iPhone 4S, IOS 6.0.1
    iPhone 5, IOS 6.0.2
    iPad 2, IOS 6.0.1
HP Laserjet Pro M1217nfw MFP, firmware 20120901

    Hi jbrophy11 and all,
Seems the latest FW update does not support iOS devices with iOS 10.6. This is a problem that should be fixed in the next firmware update.
There are currently 3 workarounds that you may try:
    1. Manually cancel the print job on the “Print Center” of your iPhone/iPad
         a. Double –click the Home button to display recently used apps
         b. Swipe left or right to find “Print Center”
         c. Tap “Printer Center” and click “Cancel Printing”
    2. Power cycle the Laserjet
    3. Downgrade firmware to the version of 20120206 from Mac OS
         a. Download the FW 20120206 from HP.com under LJ M1217nfw support page
         b. Run the FW Utility with a USB cable connecting to LJ M1217nfw
The previous version FW (20120206) only refer to Mac users and it can be downloaded from HP.com: HP LaserJet Firmware Update
You may check from time to time if a newer version than 20120901 gets released and update your device with the new Firmware version.
    Best regards,
    Mandy

  • Awesome Airplanes - won't stop printing!

I installed the Awesome Airplanes App on my HP OfficeJet 8600 and it has printed an airplane every day. I thought it was the children printing them but it is the app. I have removed the app but it still prints at least one a day.
    How can I stop it?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Removing an app won't stop its subscription.
Please follow the steps listed under Managing Scheduled Delivery Print Apps within the suspend or cancel sections to stop the scheduled delivery:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02940901&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4323659&tmp...
As you already removed the app be sure to add it back, then follow the steps prior removing it.

  • Print jobs won't stop printing...ever.

Since upgrading to Leopard, I've got a problem with an old HP PSC 750 where the print queue seems to generate unlimited copies of one print job. I printed a three page document and went and made coffee and came back to what seemed to be +War and Peace+ in the output tray.
I'm not sure I want to download a driver that's not been updated in a couple years, but I don't want to abandon this printer, which, although problematic over the years, is a cheap workhorse. I've not seen a lot of discussion of this problem on the web, is anybody familiar with this? Thanks in advance...

I found the solution on this site : http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/59912-29-1022n-printer-stop-printing
You just have to uncheck the chekbox "Enable two-way communication" on the "Ports" tab of the printer properties and it works normally again !!!!

  • Officejet J4680 won't stop printing

    Hi,
Before I contact HP support, thougth I would see if anyone here can help.
I have just bought a J4680 all in one.  Whenever I send anything to print (from any application), it keeps printing multiple copies until I delete the print job from my PC.  Can any one shed any light on this or suggest a solution?
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit (all updates installed), and the all in one is connected via wi-fi.  Have tried switching off firewall (Zonealarm) but same thing happens.  Have un-installed and re-installed the printer and software but still the same.
    Thanks in advance

Just an update after contacting HP tech support, seems to have sorted out the issue.
In case anyone else has a similar problem here is what they suggested. (Four steps, if the first doesn't work, move on to the next)
Step 1: Set number of copies
Pretty self explanatory, make number of copies is set to one. Had obviously already checked this so moved on to next step.
Step 2: Restart the Print Spooler device
    1. Open Administrative Tools. - Click system maintenance in control panel, then click administrative tools..
    2. Double-click Services.
    3. On the User Account Control window, click Continue.
    4. Click Print Spooler.
    5. Click Stop to stop the Print Spooler.
    6. Click Start to restart the Print Spooler.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Restart the computerDidn't work for me, but others may have more luck.
Step 3: Print directly to the printer
    1. In control panel click Hardware and sounds.
    2. Right-click the printers icon.
    3. Locate and click on HP Officejet J4680 All-in-One Printer icon
    3. Click Properties.
    4. Click the Advance tab.
    5. Click Print directly to the printer.
    6. Click OKThis did stop the first problem of the printer continuing to print, but left the document queued so when I sent anything else to print it got stuck in the queue and was unable to delete the first job in the queue.
Step 4: Install Alternate DriversThis step did the job, seems strange that I have to use drivers for another printer, surely HP should make sure its drivers work before releasing a product, or if they know these drivers work, why not ship these with the officejet and rename them?
Anyway, just add a new printer from the control panel, choosing the local option and LPT1 as the port, and select the HP 990c from the list as the printer to install. Once installed, right click on the printer within the printers folder and select properties (see previous step). Click the Ports tab, from here change the port to the one set up for the J4680
