Printer won't work after installing yosemite

Has anyone else had this problem? And I'm using  a USB cable not wifi. Have tried a bunch of troubleshooting to no avail. Help!

Thanks for asking but my printer miraculously started working 15 minutes after I posted.

printer won't work after installing mountain lion?

Assuming you've first checked Software Update to see if there are any updated drivers and it's still not working, you could try resetting the printing system.
System Preferences>Print & Scan, Control+Click or Right Click on a printer on the left and select 'reset printing system'. All printers will be deleted and need to be added again.

  • My Canoscan 8400F won't work after installing Yosemite

I updated my IMac to OSX Yosemite 10.10 and now the Canoscan 8400F won't work. The toolbox won't open and none of the buttons will work. I've tried to find a new driver but they aren't making them for this system. Do I have to buy a new scanner?

I recently upgraded to Yosemite and my Canon LiDE 60 scanner stopped working. It is not on the Canon list of scanners supported by Yosemite. I downloaded and installed the LiDE 60 driver v11.1.3.1 which was the one listed for OSX 10.6, the last OSX version to list a driver. Still no luck. I eventually noticed that I currently have Canoscan Toolbox v 5.0.1.4, presumably updated along the way. Once I downloaded and installed Canoscan Toolbox, v 4.9.3.4, the one also listed for OSX 10.6, things are back to normal. You need the old driver PLUS the older (then current) version of Toolbox. This works for the LiDE 60, but the logic would apply to other older Canon scanners. Good luck.

I cannot print from Sharp 2610 after installing Yosemite from my MacBook Pro. How can i get this to work?

Is there anything in "All Messages" or /var/log/cups/error_log in /Utilities/Console? Is there an updated driver? Do you get this problem printing form all apps or just Apple apps?

  • ICal Availability Panel Not Working After Installing Yosemite

The availability panel for my corporate calendar no longer works after installing Yosemite.  I get a message that says "This calendar does not support availability."  This was working before I installed Yosemite.  Is there a configuration I need to change?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • External keypad won't work after installing OS 7.

External keypad won't work after installing OS 7. I have a "Zagg" keyboard that won't pair now to OS 7,...Why?

They do work. I have one and mine is working. Have you tried to reset your iPad? HOlding down teh sleep and home keys until it reboots then try pairing again.
A slightly more drastic thing is to go into the settings and reset all settings. THe downside, you will need to retweak your device but it can help fix keyboard glitches.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 open and place commands not working after installing Yosemite

How can I get Illustrator Open and Place commands to work after installing Yosemite?

    Hello,
I also have the same problem, after 5 minutes I can't open or place anything in illustrator. I have this problem also in photoshop cc 2014. This started after installing Yosemite.
Tried to reinstall but nothing helps.
Today after updating creative cloud application it is even worse: illustrator is not opening anything: not even a new file. So I reinstalled... and I can open again for 5 minutes. But then it crashed while saving. Now I can't open illustrator at all...so nothing left to do then reinstalling again I suppose?

  • Volume quit working after installing Yosemite.

After installing Yosemite on my new macbook pro I noticed that my volume controls didn't work on the keyboard and were "grayed" out on the task bar and in system preferences and unusable.  I restarted the computer and they came back on.  Now I notice that many times when I start the computer it happens again and can only be fixed by restarting the computer again.  Any suggestions?

Right, App Store Support solved my problem.(iPhoto & iMovie were packaged with my iMac when I bought it.  Upgrading from Mountain Lion to Yosemite wiped that out, and these apps did not show up in my purchased list.  This would not have happened if Maverick had been installed prior to Yosemite.)

  • IPhoto not working after installing Yosemite

After installing Yosemite the iPhoto icon on the dock has a circle/line symbol superimposed.  Get a message saying iPhoto needs to be updated, but when I try to update I get "Update unavailable for this Apple ID."  (I have used my current Apple ID at least since 2011, and have used it to update iPhoto previously.)

  • Canon MX 860 scanner won't work after installing Mt Lion

After upgrading my IMac to Mountain Lion v 10.8 my wireless Canon MX 860 scanner function won't work. The printer works. When I try to start the scanner either from the keyboard or the scanner I get an error message: MP Navigator EXquit unexpectedly.
I downloaded and reinstalled the scanner driver

and restarted and it still doesn't work.
    any other suggestions?
    thank you

You may also need to update MP Navigator to v2.1.3. If you are using an older version then trash that version before installing the latest version.

  • Wireless printing no longer working after installing HP 2.7 update

I have been using wireless printing from my Macbook Pro (running Lion OSx 10.7.2) fine until yesterday when it just stopped working out of nowhere. From looking on the forums it appears that this is probably a result of the HP 2.7 update (which I also had the issue of continuously re-appearing in my software update list even after installing it multiple times - though i was able to resolve this courtesy of this forum). I've tried re-installing the printer multiple times and it works fine when connected via USB, it acnowledges that the printer is connected to the same wireless network as my computer bu

OK, before you dive any more into the registry, a simple question. Did you try uninstalling iTunes, rebooting, and re-installing iTunes?
I do have an entry for 'iTunes.Application.1' (below). However, I'm sure there are many more registry entries related to iTunes. In other words, adding this entry will probably not be sufficient to restore the COM functionality.
