Printers are showing twice in Devices & Printers after removal

Hi Experts,
The following problem started a few weeks ago on 1 of our 3 RDS servers. I hope that there is someone that knows how to resolve this problem.
The server is: Windows Server 2012 Standard
When I delete a printer from the Devices & Printers this printer appears once more after a few minutes.
It happens with every printer I remove.

Hi Rense,
Please refer to following KB and check if that Hotfix will help you to solve this issue.
A network printer is deleted unexpectedly in Windows
If this issue still exist, please check event log if find some relevant clues.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.

  • Printers not showing up in Add Printers / Network module - No printers found

    Hello All,
    I have tried a few different recommended fixes to no avail.  When simply going to Devices and Printers, Add Printer, then Network.... no printers are found, until you click the The Printer isn't listed and find under the directory, they are all seen. 
    Nothing has changed with the server itself and everything seems to be in order.  This is a problem since I'll be rolling a bunch of new larger MFD printers in the coming weeks.  I will mention, and not sure if the timing is just coincidence,
    but I did install the NFS file service to the server, then promptly removed it, and this seemed to happen around that time.  Any help/lead would be appreciated.
    Below are the items I have tried.
    Removed/Relisted all printers in Printer Management
    Confirmed the printer permissions as correct
    Confirmed the printers are shared and visible when browsing to the printer server via UNC path
    Printers are visible in the Default Naming Context for that server within ADSIedit
    Network Discovery (for domain users) is enabled IN and OUT on the printer server as well as on any client machine trying to find/add one of these printers
    Event View or the Role events show NO errors for that particular service
    The SSDP service is running
    Using local gpedit, published the printers manually (can only be seen from the print server itself and no other client, but also doesn't show name or location of the printer)

    Sorry for my interrupting. Just confirm something more.
    Based on your description, did you mean that you can connect those printers and use them as normal, when find
    printers via feature “Find a printer in the directory, based on location or feature”? Meanwhile, if logged on with an administrator account, will encounter the same issue?
    In addition, I know that you didn’t suspect it’s related to group policy settings. Just for a confirmation,
    would you please use
    Gpresult command to check? Or you can send the result to
    OneDrive then post the link here. (Please hide or remove private and protected information)

    Preparing the Financial Reporting Print Server
    To print cell documents, the corresponding “print” applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) on the Print Server machine must have the following characteristics:
    Be properly installed
    Be properly registered for printing in the computer’s registry
    Be available to the “SYSTEM” account
    Have access to, and be able to print from, the printers installed by Financial Reporting (HRPrinter1-5). The SYSTEM account issues all print requests, so it is important that the applications can print using the Print Server’s printers.
    To optimize the print server, disable the following items:
    All add-ins (including Oracle's Hyperion add-ins) from all Microsoft Office applications— To enhance application launch time and consume system resources. If enabled, it may display UI components that require user input.
    SmartTags (Office 2002+)—To enhance performance.
    “Office Assistant”—Office Assistant prompts the user for input, which halts printing.
    Tip: Dedicate a machine for use as a print server, ensuring that add-ins are not used.

  • All of my Calendar information is on iCloud.  Everything has been syncing fine on both iPhones 4s and iPad 2.  Now however only the past two months are showing on my devices while all the information is on iCloud.

    My iCloud Calendar and devices ( iPad 2 and iPhones 4S ) have been syncing fine for the past several months.  Now however only the past two months are showing up on my devices while the iCloud Calendar continues to show all of the events.  Why is all the information still not syncing?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, scroll down to the Calendars section and change the sync option to something other than 'Events 2 month back'.

But my data center switches are showing as the connected devices. My routers are connected through the MPLS cloud. Does routers connected through MPLS cloud as connected devices ???

    Currently Campus topology is supporting CDP for Topology computation. MPLS is unfortunately not supported

  • Devices Not Showing Up in Device Manager After WinXP Install

    I installed Windows XP Professional CD after re-formatting and partitioning the hard drive in my ThinkPad T42 (2378-FVU).
    After finishing the install and running Windows Update for an eternity, Device Manager still can't detect several items.  (I was able to get my wireless networking to work after installing a driver from Intel.)  These are the "Other Devices" in yellow listed in Device Manager:
      - Ethernet Controller
      - PCI Modem
      - Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
    Yes, I dutifully downloaded and installed these and other device drivers from Lenovo's website.
    Why doesn't WinXP SP3 detect my devices?!?
    I saw other posts about a WinXP Pro install on T41 Thinkpads with the same problem.  The recommended solution was to install the device drivers "twice."  I'm sorry, but I don't understand what that means, twice?  The solution also seemed to indicate that the install is supposed to be done at two different locations.  But, only one path is listed in the solution and my drivers are installed in the solutions' paths. 
    Hopefully, someone can be more explicit about how to do the driver installations twice.

    The other path is C:\DRIVERS\WIN....the first setup tells you the exact location if you pay attention.

  • Pictures in email are showing twice within the same email

    For every email I receive that contains a picture, the picture itself shows up twice in the same email, how do I correct this proble??

    More than likely, every one of these messages were composed in HTML or received and forwarded by an email client using HTML for message composition.
    There are two versions of the same message sent when HTML is used for message composition - an HTML version and a Plain Text version for those who prefer turning off the rendering all HTML when received.
    There isn't anything you can do to correct this.
    If using HTML for message composition was no longer supported and allowed, the majority if not all problems experienced with the exchange of email would be eliminated.

  • I just got my internet turned back on, and planned on updating my iPod to ios 5. However, when I plugged it in and opened iTunes, iTunes did not show it under devices, even after I updated iTunes to 10.6. It's like it isn't connected.

    My iPod says it is carging, but iTunes doesn't say it is. It doesn't even have a devices category on the sidebar.

    When I plug it in, it tells me, " iTunes has detected an iPod in Recovery Mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." I don't have an option to back it up, only to restore it. I'm going to be annoyed if it erases everything, it never told me it would do this if I updated....

  • U330 wireless not showing up in device manager after reinstalling OS

    hi,
    my wireless doesn't work anymore. I've made sure the switch is on, and have pressed fn+F5. I've installed the drivers from here: http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_279.html
    i've tried to search for new hardware, deleted all the hardware that wasn't installed correctly and rebooted. I also rebooted and pressed f2 to get to set up and checked under advanced that wireless was enabled.
    For some reason my computer doesn't know that my wireless card exists.
    what next? any suggestions? wireless card worked fine before restore so my guess is it's not a hardware problem, though truth be told i don't know how to check the hardware so i have no real way of knowing if that is it.

    oh - my OS is Vista 32 bit.

    Was the reinstall a Restore, or installed from a Windows disk?
    Some things to check, if you have not already.
    Is the wlan driver installed? Look in Uninstall a Program
    section of Control panel for the Intel driver.
    Does the driver install in a "two step process"?
    Some older drivers extract to a folder on your hard drive,
    usually C:\drivers\* and then you must run the Setup
    file from there.
    The way to check if it is hardware is install a different card,
    not always a simple thing to do if you don't have spare cards
    laying around!

  • DSC-WX350 shows leftover "Unable to Display" after removing photos from card

    I'm having a problem with the DSC-WX350 seeing "ghosts" of photos after they've been removed to a computer. If I pop the camera's card out, stick it in a card reader, and move photos off the camera onto my computer, once I put the card back in the WX350 seems to see false files of the relocated photos: it acts like they're still there (info, date taken, keeps them in the photo count, etc.) but only shows a grey "Unable to Display" error. I then have to manually delete each erroneous entry manually. As you can imagine, doing so every time I move photos off the camera is a pain in the ******. I've looked through all the folders on the card and don't see anywhere that any leftover file markers or anything else to cause this issue would be. Any ideas why this is happening? (FYI, the card was freshly formatted properly prior to using it in the camera.) Thanks ahead of time.

    Bob, I do not think you understand, or didn't read my post. I am not interested in recovering photos, because I already transferred them to my computer, and used the program in the computer to delete the photos I just transferred. After this is done, I put the SD card back in the WX350, and the Unable to Display message comes up when trying to view other photos just taken. This never happens when using my RX100M2.  I think the reason is the firmware written for the bionz X processor has a flaw in it, which is too bad because Sony never releases firmware updates for cameras unless they cost a bazillon dollars. The WX350 is not the only Sony camera to have this issue, it happens with others using the latest processor. The only way around this is to reformat the SD card each time I transfer photos to my computer using non Sony software, which is a royal PIA if I do not want to delete everything on the SD card. Are you guys too proud to come up with firmware updates? Issuing firmware updates is not something to be ashamed of, it shows you care about your customers.  David

  • Photoshop CS 6 showing as CS 6 Extended after removing malware from my Dell (Win 7).

    I have a Dell Dimension 8500 with Win 7. I have been running Photoshop CS6 with no problems.  I recently had to run a number of antimalware programs to get rid of a lot of adware, etc.  Since getting the computer back to normal, when I click on the icon for CS6, it starts up as CS 6 EXtended and brings up the window about the 30 day trial.  How did this suddenly happen?  I never downloaded or purchase CS 6 Extended.  When I look in the programs directory, it says Extended when it never did before.  Must I delete the entire program and reinstall from the original install files?   How do I preserve my homemade presets and other plug-ins?   Thank you.    BruceB

    There is only one perpetual Photoshop.exe 64bit  and one Photoshop.exe 32bit  when activated they are  either CS6 standard or CS6 extended it depends what you serial number is.  If its not activated is runs as a trial install CS6 extended for 30 days. See if you can use menu Help>Activate to activate you install.  Its acting like you activation credentials have been deactivated or wiped.

    Long time ago, back when Panther was king, we setup Print services on our Panther servers. It often jammed and now we turned off the Print service and deleted all the queues. But now, when adding printers to our client laptops running Leopard, the open directory printers are showing up under the Default icon and people are being misled to add these printers. Is there a way to remove these "ghost" printers?
