since update to 10.8 not able to install new printer, any ideas on the problem. Tried using the disc and still will not work, Macbook software all updated as well??

You didn't state what brand or which printer you're trying to install. Have you considered downloading the latest driver/installation software from the vendors support web site?

Ive been used the BETA for a while now, and I was looking forward to upgrade to the final version 2.0.
When I insterted my Leopard disk and tried to update my drivers, it couldnt install the REMOTE, TRACKPAD or the KEYBOARD support.
I tried to uninstall these drivers through DEVICE MANAGER, so I can install the new ones from scratch, but they didnt want to install either.
Now my keyboard or my trackpad wont work under Windows....
Can anybody help me???

You should not uninstall these drivers from the device manager but use the software uninstall option to do this. If you can still use a mouse and the keyboard (unplug & re-insert the keyboard) then try a few other options.
To install the updated trackpad driver explore the Leopard DVD in Windows.
You will see a Driver folder, go into the Driver folder and continue into the Apple folder.
In the Driver\Apple folder are the Apple drivers for the remote, trackpad and keyboard. Just execute the individual installs to update the drivers.
This is really the brute force method, I propose this since you are currently in a bad state.
If you run into a similar problem in the future please use the software uninstall option in the control panel to remove the old drivers and use the repair functionality in the Boot Camp installer.

Iphoto wont install the update from the App store

I installed Yosemite on my imac mid 2010. Went to the iphoto which stated I needed to update. When I went to updates it was showing no updates needed. I then even found iphoto and pressed install and now it seems to just freeze on the install as it just keeps showing installing. Any help?

I have iPhoto 9.1.5 which was installed on my iMac that I received November, 2011.
My wife has the 9.2.1 version of iPhoto on her MacBook Pro which she bought months before I bought my iMac.
My iPhoto library opens fine in 9.1.5 on my iMac but will not open the copy of her iPhoto library that I copied to my iMac. We have two libraries and I want the same one she has instead of two separate libraries.
I went to the Mac App Store and downloaded iPhoto9.2.1 Update.dmg to my desktop.
I then opened the .dmg and clicked on the iPhoto9.2.1Update.pkg.
The install iPhoto Update window started to open briefly before the Alert message "The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available" appeared.

Iphone apps wont install or update - please help!

Hi. Hopefully someone can help me...
My iPhone 4s running iOS 6.1.3 wont let me install new apps or update existing apps. When i click on the button to buy a free or pay app the button changes to "install app". Then when i click on the install app button nothing happens ( no progress bar and no installation). After repeatedly clicking the install button the status changes to "install" as if it was installed...except it wasn't.
So far i've tried:
- logging out/in of iTunes account
- rebooting phone
- turning off / turning on phone
- resetting all settings
- deleting apps that required updating that wouldn't update
- deleting ibooks which had a pending download
Tried these multiple times without success in resolving the issue. Both wifi and 3G connection is fine.
Anyone gone through the same thing and have any suggestions? Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Use the Administrator account. Download the Uninstaller and SAVE it to your Desktop:

Then download the Flash Player Installer for Firefox and SAVE it to your Desktop:

Then downlad the Flash Player Installer for Internet Explorer and SAVE it to your Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Be sure to read over the Uninstaller instructions for system tray, and Make sure you use the Administrator Account.
When you have that done, Close ALL browsers. Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer.
When fully rebooted, Reboot again (to clear all old files out)
Then Run the Firefox Installer, then Run the IE Installer and when finished, Reboot Once.
Test both browsers here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Then Using IE, go to manage add ons (all add ons) and find Shockwave Flash Object and make sure it is Enabled.
Then Using FF, find the SWF vs 10.1.53.64 plug-in and make sure it is Enabled.

I was having very similar issues with both the iPhone 3GS, which I returned, and then when I updated my original iPhone to the 3.0 OS. It turns out that the problem (at least in mine and others case) is an unassigned dummy email account on the iPhone. On the settings icon open up mail, contacts, calender and look at the end of your list of e-mail accounts. The dummy account will have the word e-mail in the margin but the rest of the field is blank. Select this for the account information go to the end of the information field and delete it.
When I did this it completely resolved my battery life issue and the over heating in my original iPhone. The cause it is suggested is because of the dummy account, the iPhone goes into perpetual search mode because of all the missing information. I wish I had know this before returning the 3GS.

ITunes wont open and wont install or update!! Need help!!

Everytime I try to open my itunes I get a pop-up saying
"QuickTime version 7.0d0 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.1.3 or later.
Please reinstall iTunes."
This message also appears whenever I try to update my itunes or reinstall it. Can someone please help me??

ITunes wont install using update or manual download! HELP!

having major problems with my iTunes. i currently have 16 videos trying to download and i keep getting error messages everytime. contacted iTunes support and they said i needed to update to the latest version of iTunes. When i then told them that it won't let me they suggested downloading onto a different system! hugely useful! the problem i am getting with updating iTunes is that if i use the Apple Update it comes up with an error saying "failed to install try downloading manually" so i do! download the installer files manually and then double click on it as usual. the installer check comes up and i click on run. then nothing happens! the run box dissapears but nothing installs and nothing else comes up in its place! highly annoying as you can imagine! anybody any ideas on how to fix this so i can finally watch my 16 shows!

My firmware has downloaded but wont install the update.

I recently bought an older macbook, and I went to install updates on it. All but one of them inatstalled. The frimware for some reason will not install. The macbook was purchased in 2009, and is running off of mac os x 10.6.8. im not sure if any of this information is helpful?

Or, hold down the Option key and click on the apple. With the Option key held down, the first choice will instead be System Information. That's enough info for users here to see what model Mac you have. The ROM version is your current firmware level. From there, we can look to see what, if any firmware updates are supposed to be available for your Mac. I ask because the update you're being told to apply my be in error and there really is nothing to apply.

It wont install the update

I transfered some of my music from my old computer to my new one, when i try to listen to it, it asks for my password, which i give, then it tells me i need to update to the new version of iTunes to log in. I download the update, but when i get to the install, it tells me there is nothing to install. I get all the way to which HD to put it in, select my main drive, then the next page says skip on all the options, and if i hit install it tells me there is nothing to install. I don't know what the problem is. Anyone?

Inside HDD > Library > Receipts look for iTunesX.pkg
Delete it and you should be able to install the latest version

Vista Service Pack 1 wont install. Update keeps asking for it.

Installed Service Pack 1 with Windows Update. Update History says it was successful but it is not in the Installed Updates and Windows keeps asking for SP1 over and over. Vista SP3 is there.
I have tried to install it directly, I closed all security programs and fire wall. I looked to see if there is any missing updates. I've restarted the computer. I have followed all the instructions on the support site.
Service Pack 3 is installed.

To be honest I never had any problems with my Vista updates
The Vista updates automatically every time when Im online and when new updates are available
How did you try to update the Vista OS?
Did you download the SP1 firstly to HDD or did you run an automatic update?
If the automatic update does not work try to download the SP1 firstly and then start the update procedure:
