Printing 3-up from Acrobat Reader
I have an 5-1/3 in. by 11 in. (portrait-oriented) PDF which is designed to be printed exactly 3-up to make an 17 in. by 11 in. page. I'm having some trouble doing this, particularly specifying a tabloid sized page, and in any case, none of the pages look like they're going to print right up to the edge of the page: Adobe Reader will print a small border around each one, which isn't what I want.
Is there a cure for this?
Okay, so I looked again and worked out how to select a tabloid-sized page. But my smaller pages don't go right up to the edge of the paper: there's a small white border around each of them. Is there a way to have my three 5.66 in. by 11 in. pages butt up against each other and fill the entire tabloid sized page?

Printing PDF Error from Acrobat Reader on Firefox
Hi all !
I have a website, that can generate PDF Files. Recently, when I generate a PDF from Firefox, and the PDF file is a bit large (like 18MB or 30MB), I can't print if from Firefox.
The fact is that the preview of the PDF is shown correctly by Adobe Reader plugin, and it is specially in that case when it crashes. I can't print from it and also, I can download to my Desktop but when I open the downloaded file, error (corrupt file).
The error thrown by Firefox is: (Preview Error. An error occurred when printing. It's not the explicit message because I had translated from Spanish but I think that it's the same)
I tried from OSX Safari and runs properly, and the diferential fact is that Safari uses native PDF suport, any Adobe Plugin, even when I open from my Desktop, the saved generated file, If I open with Adobe Reader crashes, If I open with Apple Native Preview, runs fine.
I give you a testing extract:
Over Firefox 37.0.1, OSX 10.9.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.10: Printing crashes and file Opening Crashes (File Size 16,9MB)
Over Safari 7.1.2, OSX 10.9.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.10: Printing runs fine and file Opening runs fine (File Size 16,9MB)
Over Firefox 30, Windows7 Ult. x64 and Adobe Reader 11.0.10: Printing crashes and file Opening Crashes (File Size 30,4MB)
Testing has been done with multiple source and content PDF files
Could be caused by some updates?
Any idea?
Many thanksHi barcelonamsg
Are you able to print any other pdf files that aren't generated using that website?

PDF file prints fine from Acrobat reader XI, but not Acrobat Standard XI
I have a 2 page document that is set up as tabloid 11x17, meant to be printed duplexed and folded as a 4 pamphlet. The document with the same printer settings prints fine from Adobe Reader XI but from Adobe Standard XI, Page 1 prints fine, but page 2 looks like it is trying to print on the backside of an 81/2x11 instead of 11x17. I have played with the print settings in Standard, and cannot come up with a combination that prints that document correctly, yet it prints fine from Acrobat Reader XI. I did double check for updates on both products and installed them. Anyone have any idea as to why this is happening? If I print page 2 by itself it does print properly, just not when sent duplexed with page 1.
Well, for those following this thread or needing a solution, I found a work-around though I'm still not sure why the initial problem exists.
In Acrobat 9 Pro, once you have the main print dialogue box open, follow the steps below:
1) Click ADVANCED
2) Select PRINT AS IMAGE
3) Set DPI to 300
4) Click OK
5) Make any other typical print setup adjustments as you normally would and finish printing as usual -
Problem with printing from Acrobat Reader XI
SInce I installed Acrobat Reader XI I have got problems with printing out pages. The text starts a bit down (2 cm) on the paper, resulting that the last part of the text on the page will be missing. And the missing part does not follow on page 2, it just don´t comes out!
It doesn´t matter what settings i click in on the print setting page in Acrobat Reader, it always gets the same result.
Does anyone know what can be the problem? No files appeared in C:\Users\Pavilion\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings but they did appear in Distiller.
I tried to copied them from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Settings, but found they were already there. I copied them by adding -COPY before .joboptions in the name. Now they appeared in Printing Preferences with the -COPY added.
I tested a print from Word (using File / Print), but was not prompted for the filename or location. I checked my entire system and couldn't find the PDF file anywhere. I tried changing the Port to Desktop\*.pdf using Printer Properties, but that didn't work either.
I was able to successfully use the Acrobat menu item in Word & Excel to create a PDF but it automatically created the file on the Desktop without an option to change the filename.
After several days and hours, I gave up and installed Acrobat X on the W7 computer. I can still use Acrobat XI on the W8 computer. So be it!
Thanks anyway for your attempts to help. -
Printing from Acrobat Reader 9.1
I can not print from Acrobat Reader 9.1 to my HP printer connected wirelessly to my Mac. I can print fine from any other software on my Mac. Tips and suggestions are welcome!
I'm having the same issue. It all started after upgrading to 10.5.7 and Adobe Acrobat to 8.1.5.
I have an HP Photosmart C7280 and I am able to print via WiFi from all applications except Acrobat (version 8). However, Acrobat will print 1 page documents, but nothing longer.
At first I thought it was the 10.5.7 update. I saw in some other places that downloading and installing the combo update worked better for some folks. I did that, but still no joy.
I did the "Reset Printing System..." thing in system preferences and added the HP back. Still no joy.
I uninstalled and re-installed the HP software (drivers and all). Still no joy.
I uninstalled Acrobat and re-installed from CD so I was back to version 8.0. Still no joy.
I have not re-upgraded Acrobat to 8.1.5, but I don't have high hopes.
I wondering where the fix will come from. Hard to say that the problem is exclusively Adobe... made two changes to my system (OS upgrade and Acrobat upgrade). I have seen folks that dropped back to 10.5.6 and the problem persisted for them. I don't want to go back to 10.5.6 as I don't have that kind of time.

PDFs not printing from Acrobat Reader 7.0.8
PDF don't print from Acrobat Reader 7.0.8. The same PDFs print from Preview. I've tried many PDF from various sources (over a dozen including those created on my Mac) in every case they print fro Preview and not from Reader.
I'm currently on OS 10.4.7 but This has been an issue for some time and I believe was the case with Reader 7.0.7.FIXED!
Priner Setup Utility/Reset Printing System
Then added priner again.
Interesting that the only issue was printing from Acrobat Reader and that this fixed it. Probably deleted and "rewrote" whatever file was at issue.

Can not longer print pdf from Acrobat Reader
All of a sudden I can no longer print pdf files to my printer. It is shared by all the computers in our household and any time I try to print from any of the computers now, instead of printing it creates a prn file instead. I can find no option in the printer properties where selecting or deselecting something to enable or disable printing to files. All the systems are either MS Vista or Windows 7. Though there are commands that allow sending a prn to a network printer, they require a named print server, which we don’t have on our peer-to-peer network.
It is interesting that I can create a pdf file in Photoshop on my system and it will print from Photoshop. I can also print the “problematic” documents for Photoshop, which I only have on one system. But anything created in Acrobat will not print natively from Acrobat reader. In the Print dialog click on Advanced, then uncheck Print to File.

Sunray client only postscript printing in Firefox and Acrobat reader
Hi,
I am using Sun Ray as a client only with user rights. I have set up the network printers, but I only have them working in OpenOffice.
If I try to print from Firefox, it only shows the postscript printers, and from Acrobat reader I can not find any printer.
Any suggestion?
Cheers.Hi barcelonamsg
Are you able to print any other pdf files that aren't generated using that website?

Error message when copying from Acrobat Reader
Error message when copying from Acrobat Reader - any file, any time (Win 7, Adobe many versions until recent).
Copy works, but causes a needless and useless error message that has to be clicked away every time.
This problem is published on the web for a million times without a working solution. And even in the Adobe forum no qualified answer (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/441370)
When can I expect a solution?"101 Views 0 Replies

Of course not.
But thank you anyway, I talked to my admin and we changed the whole company to Foxit.
It can be that easy. -

I upgraded to Lion and now can't print PDF files and Acrobat reader doesn't work anymore. What can I do to get it working?
If you upgraded and were using a version of Acrobat Reader that was legacy, that is PPC compatible, then you will have to upgrade to a version compatible with Lion as Lion no longer has Rosetta to interface with the legacy software.
I know that Acrobat, full version, 10 works with Lion...use it myself. -
Calling custom COM-based library from Acrobat/Reader javaScript
Hi All,
is ist possible to extend the javascript object model? For example, is it possible to call a custom COM-based library from Acrobat/Reader using javaScript. Or is their a diffrent way to call third part libs?
Thanks
CommanderPeekI need a Reader Integration to a document management system (DMS). The user should interact from Reader GUI with the DMS.
Nobody is able to give me binding statement, if my customer (this company need plugin for internal use only) will get the Adobe Reader Integration Key License/digital certificate for such a Reader plugin and how high the costs will be. I wait and wait for Adobes’ Feedback :-(
For this reason I check a different solution with Javascript but I have no idea how to make calls to the DMS from Javascript. On other side are COM- or .Net-based libraries available. -
Can't print from acrobat reader
I have a mac mini (2011) running lion. I have the latest version of Acrobat Reader installed. When viewing any pdf file, it works fine. However, if I click on the printer icon, nothing happens. Nothing goes to the print queue. Also, if I hit File>Print, the printer dialogue doesn't appear. Nothing happens at all.
I can print pdf files from Preview, just fine, so I know it's not a printer problem.
I've trashed and reinstalled Acrobat Reader, fixed permissions, rebooted and trashed the Adobe Application Support files from Library.
I'm stumped. I have to have Acrobat, as it's the only program that can open certain government forms. I can't "print as image" since I can't even get the printer dialogue to show up. I'm only having this issue on one machine, so I'm completely stumped.
HELP!"IF" You are using, OSX.4.11 Try locating , downloading, installing AppleJack (there currently isn't a version for Leopard or Snow Leopard). The to Run Restart holding down the Command-S keys. This put you in Single User Mode (Raw UNIX).
when a screen full of print scrolls through and your left with a Blink Cursor, Type applejack.
simply follow directions. go by the numbers follow them in order they are given.
Now items 3&4 you have to do once for your system, and once for each User Account (name you gave computer when setting up example you gave name as John Smith name for user account would be johnsmith).
Once completed (1-5) hit return then choose Reboot or Shutdown.
In your case choose r and then hit return.
when it restarts wait, a whole bunch of cache files were dumped. You may even see the "dreaded "Blue screen for a little bit, and bits and piece of the desktop will appear until completely rebuilt.
After rebuilt Try printing.
If that doesn't work. Report back and maybe someone else can come up with an idea. -
Printing forms from Acrobat Reader iOS
I love the new ability in Acrobat Reader for iOS to fill in forms. I've noticed that when the filled in form is emailed and then opened in Acrobat for PC that it keeps the form details and allows it to be printed with all markups etc. However, when trying to print the PDF directly from the iOS version of Reader, the form fields and markups don't print. It would be great if there was a way to flatten the marked up PDF in iOS Reader and be able to print it direct from the iPad and/or store the PDF in iBooks. thanks!
Hello Leighdr,
Adobe Reader on iOS currently relies on Apple's AirPrint framework, and directly passes the saved PDF (including the form fields and markups) to AirPrint, which is the reason for your observation since AirPrint doesn't support printing these markups. We have taken down this feature request (to flatten these fields before print) for consideration in a future update.
Thanks for your feedback!
