Printing 8X10" photos on C4580

Everything prints fine on Photosmart C4580 except 8x10 or 8x11 photos.  Print leaves no margin at top, cuts off part of the top of the photo, leaves larger margin at bottom, and smudges the back of the page.  I am using HP advanced glossy photo paper.  Quality of print that does print is good.   This is a new problem, worked fine when new.  Printer is 14 months old.  This only happens with the photo paper, better with plain paper but still not perfect.
Thanks for suggestions.

it is not possible as far as I have determined to print n-up with no white space between photos with iPhoto '09
To print n-up select the photos and click print, select the printer, paper size and print size (you will have to experiment to find what you want for this)(note that is the size is not the same ratio - typically 4:3 for point and shoot digital cameras and 3:2 for DSLRs - as the photos you must either crop the photos to the correct ratio prior to printing or the computer will crop for you - often not where you would choose)
Then click customize and click on the setting button in the tool bar at the bottom - select print multiple photos per page - the preview will reflect what will print
If you are happy click print again, select any printer specific options and click print to print the page

  • C7250 printer won't print 8x10 photos

This printer will print 4x6 photos from the photo tray, but will not print 8x10 photos from the paper tray.  When I attempt this, even inputting "print from main tray" the printer tries to print from the photo tray and a message comes up requesting that photo paper be placed in the photo tray.  How do I program printer to print photos from main tray.  I have opened printer preferences and in the drop down menu have chosen as source "main tray" and size 8.5Xll

It keeps saying to put in the paper tray --but there is no space for an 8 x 10--not only that--all I'm trying to do is print an 8 x 10 scan document and it won't print from the lower shelf--it keeps wanting me to put the paper in the top tray--there is no room for an 8 x 10 or 8 x 11 paper in the top tray!-Julie

  • Elements 10 for MAC cannot print 8x10 on Canon mp970?

Elements 10 for MAC cannot print 8x10 photos on a Canon MP970 printer . I get a box that says can only print at 220 resolution. What should I do?

That's not quite what it's saying. It's tell you that at the physical size you chose (presumably 8 x10) your photo has fewer than 220 pixels per inch. So you can print 8 x 10 but the quality may not be first rate, since the original image just doesn't have enough pixels in it to print at that size with more pixel density.

  • After last iPhoto update, my 8x10 photos print in the negative.

I run on OS X Mavericks & iPhoto 9.5.1. All my 8x10 photos print only in the negative. Meaning where something is usually blue and green, it prints a crazy red yellow negative effect. All other size photos print fine. This is true even when printing from Preview or any other photography app. I'm not sure sure if this is an iPhoto issue or not but I would really like to print some 8x10 photos.

Terence, thank you. My terminology was incorrect as I did mean to say printer driver. I had a very hard time trying to even update the printer driver as since my computer knowledge on Mac's are not the best. In the end, I deleted the printer, restarted my system, and added the printer. It now works! I really appreciate your help!

  • 6515 won't print 4x6 photos defaults to 8x10. This happens on two different hp computers

Hp 6515 will not print 4x6 photos defaults to 8x10 paper tray. This happens on two different model HP computers.

    Hello Cal31,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand when you try to print a 4x6 photo, it defaults to 8x10 paper. What is your operating system on your computer(s)? Windows or Mac?
I would recommend following this HP document on An 'Out of Paper' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the e-All-in-One Does Not Pick Up Paper ... Make sure you change the "Print Settings" to the correct paper size and the "Media Tab" is set on "Photo Tray".
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

How do I print panoramic photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer?

Thank you for this link! Actually I installed a brand new Windows 8 system in January 2014 and then bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer a few days later. To install this printer I did not use the CD that came with it but already used this link. Just to be sure that I have the latest version I again reinstalled the driver. The result is definitive: You cannot print common photo paper sizes like 4x6,  5x7, 8x10, etc. via a PC using photo SW like HP Photo Creations, MS Gallery, Windows Photo Viewer or any other SW on a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. The reason is most likely that HP marketing decided that an Officejet should not be smart enough for photos, after all the company sells also Photosmarts. Because you cannot create your own formats  you are limited by the driver to what is typically available in an office, in this case:  A4, Letter, legal, Statement, Executive, A4, A5, A6, B54 (JIS), Envelopes #10-DL-C5-C6-A2-Monarch, Japanese Postcard, Japanese Envelope Chou #3-#4, L, 2L, O**bleep**u hagaki, Index Card Letter-A4, Edge-to-Edge Letter-A4, Env. Japanese No 3-No 4 and that's it, not more. Thank you anyway for trying to help me but in this case only the SW developers in HP can help.It would be great to be able to print from time to time a 4x6 photo on this printer like I would do.Copying photos on a USB stick or on a SD card first and then use this way to print on the printer is too cumbersome for me.

  • How do I print 4x6 photos on an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus via Windows Photo Viewer or Gallery

Dear Experts, I've got an HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer with just one paper tray in which I loaded 4x6 photo paper.
The printer was purchased in January 2014, the latest drivers are installed. Now I would like to print a single 4x6 photo using Windows Photo Viewer or Gallery.I loaded the 4x6 photo paper  into the tray as indicated by the little icon labeled 4x6in, so I suppose I got the HW part right. It's just the SW part which gives me a hard time. The available paper size options in Windows Photo Viewer and Gallerydon't include photo paper sizes, just the standard paper and envelope sizes.Hence I checked in the HP Printer Assistant in "Set Preferences" what kind of paper sizes are available, and there is exactly the same list as proposed by Gallery, missing photo paper sizes. So I guess Gallery just picks the sizes from the driver and ther are no photo paper sizes. This is an issue because I prefer to print from my PC using Win 7 or Win 8 and not from a SD card or a USB stick. Any help is very welcome, thank you in advance!

  • Print large photo

I have not been able to print a photo from my 8x10 paper tray. It always reverts to the photo tray which only accepts 4x6 photos. I need to be ble to print larger photos.

    Hi,
Which operating system and printer? It sounds like you need to set the print preferences for the printer. If you are in Windows, right click on the printer icon in the printers folder and select printing preferences. Within that menu you can specify size and tray options . Also make sure that the application you are printing from mirros the correct size and tray settings.

  • Need guidance printing 4 photos - 1 page

    Hi All,
I am asking this on behalf of my wife, using iPhoto 6 on her 17" iMac. I have never attempted this, but then I have iPhoto 5 on my Mac.
How do I print 4 photos on one 8X10?? I have brought four photos together in the iPhoto window, but I can't get Print to do more than one on the page. From reading other posts here, I found out about the Print Dialogue and the need to change a drop down, but I'll be damned if I can find that. Any body care to help with this? Thank you.

    Hello, Forest,
I have a Canon iP6700 printer. This is how I do it:
In Page Setup, select the paper size as A4.
Then, in iPhoto, choose the four photos and hit 'print.'
    The 'Print' options are:
    Printer
    Presets
    Paper
    Style
So, I select my Printer, my Preset is 'photo on photo paper',
Paper I choose again A4 and
    Style, I use N-Up.
Then, below those choices, a dropdown appears to select how many photos per page.
I set it to 4, and I can see in the small preview on the left, that all four photos will be on the one page.
See if you can set yours up something like mine.....it works!

  • Printing 8x10 inch

When looking for the printing of an 8x10-inch photo on the print section it only shows the standard 6x4-inch and smaller. I've checked and rechecked the program disk, and couldn't find it anywhere. Even checking over a hundred HP sites have not given me any clue nor hint of how this is done. I'm just about out of options to try. I'm going to try converting the photo into a different format, but I don't have much hope in that working either.
I have one more question, what in the heck is L photo printing? It is listed along with cm and several other format's.

    Hey William1948,
I see you are trying to printout an 8inx10in photo from your HP printer and cannot find an option to allow this to happen.
What model HP printer do you have?
What is the Operating System of the PC you have this printer connected to?
Do you have the full feature software and driver package installed for your printer on this PC?
What program are you trying to print the 8x10 photo from?
I will need this information to be able to best assist with your issue of printing an 8x10 photo.
As to your question about L photo printing:  Do you mean the L photo paper size?  This is an international standard photo paper size of 9x13 cm.
    Have a wonderful day,
    Jason

  • Printing 8x10s

I have a Photosmart 5510 e-All-in-One Printer - B111a that I mostly use to print 8x10s. I use 8x10 photo paper. I would like to print from my phone. How do I make sure it comes out as an 8x10? I tried using the memory stick, but my printer doesn't have the option for 8x10 on 8x10 paper. I am trying to print these photos in a hurry.

    Hello BobWGABIAB,
Try using the Home and Biz app.  You can find mor information on it here.  It should let you set specific print options that you cannot set otherwise.

  • Is there any way to print a photo from my iphone on plain paper on my photosmart plus printer?

Whenever I try to use Airprint to print a photo from my iPhone to my Photosmart Plus printer, it tries to print it on photo paper from the photo paper tray.
I want it to print on the plain paper in the regular tray.
I read online where this is possible with the iPrint app - but when I went to the App Store, there is no iPrint App.  I found a sticky post here saying that it has been removed from the App Store in anticipation of a new ePrint Home & Business version that won't be available everywhere until September.
So, in the meantime, is there anyway to change the location of where the photos from the iPhone print?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    HI
Most likely their is not, as printing pictures is standard set to photopaper as you most likely need good quality. Pictures on normal paper are not considered good quaity and thus not set as standard.
