  • Microsoft Publisher 2007

Microsoft Publisher 2007 - I know I know, why am I using Microsoft publisher 2007.  I work for a pre-school and this is all they have and I am creating monthly newsletter templates for them. Anyways. I am trying to change the color of text and when
I publish the file as a PDF the colors are not showing. Please help!

    Hi,
This issue happens if you have a black and white printer set as the default printer. So even though you are not printing to it, Publisher picks up the color properties of the default printer and applies them to the PDF.
So in this case, change the default printer to something with color before saving to PDF.

  • How to print 4-fold greeting cards?

I recently upgraded to iPhoto 6.0.5 with the intent of using it to print one-off greeting cards -- NOT necessarily ordering them from Apple.
Most greeting cards programs I've used in the past allow you to print a card on one-side of one sheet of paper, then fold it in 4, so that it fits nicely in a 4x6 envelope. Not so classy, but easy and fast.
For the life of me, I haven't figured out how to get iPhoto to print greeting cards like this. Is there something obvious that I am missing? Other hints for making quick and easy cards with little printing fuss? Thanks in advance...
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I found some software that you can download called Easy Card that allows you to make your own cards or use there templates.
    http://www.scriptsoftware.com/ecc/
I just downloaded it myself as I was looking for a way to do it in Iphoto and as you found out there is no way to do it within Iphoto to print so you can do the four fold thing you talk about.
Anyways there software got good reviews and user reviews as well and I am still playing with it on the trial period right now!
I designed a Birthday/ St Patricks day invitation ( my 11 month old has his 1st birthday coming up on St Patricks day) and the easy card software works great in how it works with Iphoto and my clip art that I have. It has an OSX layout so I found using their controls pretty easy in order to get pictures and text and such into my card.
Check it out! It is a free download for trial and can be purchased for $30
I am just about to do it myself once I am satisfied with my first design!
I need to find more clip art though. Maybe they have more on there website once you purchase it!
Anyone know a good site to get clip art??

  • Would Leanprint help me save toner or ink costs/usage when using microsoft publisher?

I am new to using Adobe so am wondering if I should purchase the Leanprint aoftware.  I haven't bought a printer yet and not sure whether to purchase ink or toner based model.  I will be using the printer for creating marketing documents on Microsoft Publisher such as leaflets and flyers, probably not very often but in large quantities.

    Hello,
Adobe LeanPrint is not available for Microsoft Publisher. However, you can convert (Save As) the publisher files into PDF files and use Adobe LeanPrint through Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
Adobe LeanPrint is supported on following applications:
Microsoft Office 2007 with SP2 or Microsoft Office 2010 32 or 64 bit
Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader 9, 10 or 11
Firefox 4.x–17, Internet Explorer 8.x or 9.x or Chrome
    Refer http://www.adobe.com/products/lean-print/tech-specs.html for more details.
    Thanks,

  • I am printing a Quarter fold card, using a IMac Desktop.

I am printing a Quarter fold card, using a IMac Desktop. The "printable area" is small for all panels to print on. How can I change manually the printable area size, somewhere in the "Printers Folder" ?  I know I can't change the size of the printable area with just the regular settings.     I have an HP 6540 printer.   Please advice.

Welcome back to the forums @Macdog64
I read your post about changing the printable area size, and I am honestly unsure if this can be done. I would suggest trying the HP Photo Creations software to see if you can change the area size. It could be worth a shot!

You can either use Office for Mac 2011 or use Boot Camp to run Windows or use a VM, such as Parallels Desktop to run Windows. Running Windows, you'd be able to use MS Office for Windows.

  • How do I print on a greeting card in landscape when I can't save custom paper size?

I have a J6450 running on XP SP3 with the latest drivers and patches installed.  I have greeting card stock measuring 6.5 by 10.0 inches and a Microsoft Word document with a custom paper size matching the that stock prints in landscape mode.  The printer error is "Paper Mistmatch.  Paper size or type is incorrect."  I have followed the suggestions on the HP support page, changing the Print, Properties, Features options to show "Other greeting card", but can't define a custom paper size to match the stock.  The Save option is not available.  What do I need to do to make this work?

Here is a link to a HP document for adjusting several settings that may help with your issue.

  • Can't figure out how to print on the right side of a greeting card using a 5X7 when folded

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500A.   I am trying to print a greeting card, but cannot figure out how to print on the right side of the paper so that it's on the correct side when folded.    The paper is 5X7 when folded, 10X7 laid flat.

    shgilljx,
Welcome to the forums. I will try to explain this in simple terms, and you'll have to play with it. We'll use plain paper, cut to 10x7. You'll need a marker, 4-5 sheets of paper.
Lay paper flat, number top 1, bottom 2. Flip paper over right to left. number top 3, and bottom 4.Draw a line where the fold would be on each page.1) Put paper with number 3 side up in printer.
To create both templates using MW Office, do this. The requires 2 documents. One is graphic, one is text.
Text template: The text will be printed on number 2.  That means your wording must be within the bottom half of the page.
Graphic template: The image must be rotated 180 degrees. The image must be within the top half of the page.
Print the text template. Insert side #3 into the printer. The text should print on side #2.
Print the graphic template: Insert side #1 into the printer. The graphic should print on side #3.
When folded, all should be correct, if I did it right.

  • Source for Good Pro-Quality Custom Greeting Cards

    hello all:
i'm interested to know if anyone has found a source in the US for good, reliable, pro-quality greeting cards that can be made from digital photo files. i've been getting a lot of inquiries from clients about posing for family portraits to be used as holiday greeting cards. this is a service i've yet to offer as part of my growing portrait biz.
importing selected picks into iPhoto and ordering through there seems like a reasonable workflow, however, the prices for iPhoto's cards are kinda high.
    thanks,

  • No option for printing your own Greeting Cards at Home?

Nothing like a company giving you an option , then taking it away as an "upgrade". They could STILL give us the option of printing our own cards AS WELL as offering the own professional services. How many people use there card printing service anyway?
Don't get me wrong, I'm a dedicated mac user and there are a are a lot of great upgrades, but tis has really irked me and i WON'T be paying for the '09 upgrade.
Does anyone know of a good program for printing greeting cards?
    Thanks, Geoff

  • Physically printing a report from Apex using BI Publisher

    Hi,
I know it is possible to generate and download a PDF (or any other format) in Apex using BI Publisher (Apex 4.0.2)
But is it possible to physically PRINT a report in a specified printer? For example, the user clicks a button and the report comes out of the printer just like that.
Note: I am NOT after a solution where the report is firstly displayed on the screen and then the user performs some action to print it from there (that is pretty easy to do.)
I know that BI Publisher can do it, as its web service has an option to do so.
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hi Luis,
    not sure this is possible.
Only SOME of the features of BI Publisher are used from APEX as a service to create the reports.
*) I am not aware of any parameters / attributes in APEX so that you could specify a printer directly
*) It is not part of the API you could use instead manually:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_util.htm#CHDGFADB
I have just recently implemented that myself for an integration with JasperReports. It is currently in beta test:
    http://daust.blogspot.de/2012/08/jasperreportsintegration-200-beta-test.html
    Thus your options are:
*) I am not sure that BI publisher allows that but perhaps you could first call the apex utility function apex_util.get_print_document to retrieve the blob from bi publisher. Then perhaps (if allowed) send the blob again by yourself and using the print features of bi publisher.
Here you would have to write the utl_http communication yourself.
*) If bi publisher doesn't allow the separate process (generation first and then sending it to a printer) then you would also have to write a j2ee application which does that.
*) another option could be to store the generated blob in the filesystem on the database and call a shell script from within the database. This shell script would send it to the network printer.
    Hope that helps,
    ~Dietmar.

  • Print PDF rich text editor using BI Publisher

    Hi !
I have a CLOB field from database, and I store data using a rich text editor, like a MS Word system, here as you know, I can write words in bold format, use differents kind of colors, etc... and use all formatted text that the editor allow me. I haven't problems once save this data into table and restore again, I can see all this data formatted , and I don't loose any property of this formatted text.
The problem is when I want print this information in the same way that I can see in the rich text editor. I use BI Publisher for generate a PDF, when I send this field for print a PDF, the PDF that BI publisher generate, print only text, prints all characters including generating that text is formatted, for example, if the field is written in bold print "<b>hello</b>" in the PDF generated by BI Publisher see "< b. > hello < / b>".
Please which is the way for print the same as is displayed in the rich text editor?
    Thanks in advance.

Bump Again. I understand how to remove the HTML tags, thats not a problem. The problem is getting the report to print the data from a Rich Text Field stored in a CLOB or NCLOB as formatted text. Is there a "Master Style Template" or "Master Rich Text Field Subtemplate"?
