Printing a field list in Crystal XI

I am using Crystal XI Professional and trying to create reports using a database that is completely foreign to me. There are at least 50 tables in the source database. I'm trying to avoid searching through multiple tables in order to add a field to a report.
Using Crystal, does anyone know how to print a list of the source database's tables and their fields?

Try the
Lr/Transporter export plug-in. I have not used it but it may be configurable to provide the information you require.

InfoSet fields not listed in Crystal Report Creation Wizard

Hello Experts,
We successfully build few reports using in Crystal Reports 2008 using SAP Integration Kit and InfoSets from ECC 6. But we run in some problems with InfoSet MIRO_PO as InfoSet's fields which are not included into Field Groups are listed in Crystal Report Creation Wizard as available fields. It looks like it may be related to Field Groups/Data Fields definition in Change InfoSet transaction SQ02.
Did somebody run into similar problems? Is it mandatory to include all required fields into InfoSets' query groups?
I can't find related documentation.

Hiding a data field in SAP Crystal Reports 2011

Hello,
I am new to SAP Crystal Reports 2011 (Crystal Reports).
Does any one know how to hide a Special Field in a Crystal Report?
Specifically, I am trying to hide the Special Field, 'Record Number' from displaying on my report.
I need the Special Field, 'Record Number' to know how many records was printed on my report
in order to limit the amount of records printed while I am testing this new report.

Yes to hide specific field, follow abhilash suggestion..
1. Limit the number of records displayed on your report like that:
section expert -> particular your report section -> click on suppress -> write below formula
RecordNumber > Limited number of records count..
2. limit the number of records per page on your report follow below link:

How can I get the Tables in my report to update their field lists?

I am working with Crystal Reports 2008, and I have a ReportDocument loaded in a .NET project.
I want to update the field lists of the tables (stored procedures) used in the report. I am calling "VerifyDatabase()", but this does not update the field lists. Through the designer, I accomplish this by going to the Database -> Set Datasource Location..., then clicking on the stored procedure (i.e. table) in the report, clicking on the stored procedure under the database in the bottom pane, and then clicking "Update".
How can I accomplish this in code?

Hello,
You have to use RAS and the replace connection method. The Report Engine does not have the ability.
Search forums for "ReplaceConnection_Click" and you'll find sample code that should work for you.

Is there a way to print an e-mail without also printing a long list of addresses?

I am a recipient of some newsletters whose authors include recipient e-mail addresses in the To and CC fields. Occasionally I want to forward the newsletter to friends who are not on-line. (Yes, there are still some around.) I do this by printing the newsletter and forwarding it via snail mail. I could reduce the number of pages if I could avoid printing the address list.
I have not found any discussion of this topic in Thunderbird help or Mozilla support.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to easily modify the Subject/From/Date/To section of the print layout.
Thunderbird can be customized with style rules, but since you only want to omit the To on a case by case basis, that would not be a convenient approach. (Unless one of the rules could limit To to no more than one line. Maybe that would be a reasonable workaround?)
You could check for an add-on.

Opening HyperLinked Files contained in a database field Automatically alongwith Crystal Report

I am using Crystal Report 2008. We have a database table which has Bill of Material for all the parts, the table also has additional field which contains LINK to PDF File (i.e. c:\PDFFiles\XPart.PDF) which is containing Part specifications. Now i am able to create a Hyperlink from this field and user is able to click on the field to open the file.
Is there a way, that all the associated linked files open automatically whenever a user previews this report.Any help would be highly appreciated.

You can achieve the desired behavior by adding a UFL (User unction library) that includes a function for triggering and passing parameters ot a different process.
At least one of the 3rd-party UFLs listed at Crystal Reports viewer comparison, Crystal Reports scheduler comparison and other utilities ( viewer and scheduler compa… provides such a function.
You would then be able to add Crystal formulas that result in opening linked documents as a byproduct of previewing the report.

Exporting or Printing each page of a Crystal Report to a separate pdf file.

Is there a way to export or print each page of a Crystal report to a separate pdf file? If possible, I would look to use the family nunmber field in my report as the file name. This is not required, but would be helpful. Thanks

Standalone CR Designer doesn't have the ability but CR Server or BOE does. Or if you have a .NET or Java you could write an app that would spit out one page at a time.

R12-Check Printing-Some fields are not shown in Arabic

Hi, we have a unique problem while printing the checks some fields are printed correctly in Arabic and some are printed in english, once in english are payee name, payee address, invoice number . am i missing something here, any help is appreciated.

There are couple of ways to achieve this,
1) - Create 2 variants, 1 variant for CFO with all the fields & 2nd variant with only relevant fields. Then use the authorization concept, where basis can restrict the access / execution of the report with specific variants.
From the basis view, they create role & assign this variants in one of the object ( not sure). Basis assistance required
2) - When developing report, write the validation for the respective fields such as maintain Customize table in which maintain userID's & fields which they can access. Display only those fields to the userID who executes this report. It should check this customize table for this UserID & only those fields listed should get displayed. ( for all the fields, instead maintaining each field, you can enter "ALL",
Eg: UserID -
Fields
CFO -
ALL ( report should display all the fields)
NONCFO-------Field1 | Field2 | Field3 | Field4 | Field5 ( only these fields should get displayed)
Note: In Customize table either you can maintain with User ID or Role. It will be more convinient in future as well.

Report layout supports each field listed vertically(1 field per row)

I'm basically new to APEX. I have a report that displays 1 record of data with each field(1 per row) listed vertically. When using the default APEX report layout template, the Print attributes(.pdf, xml, online, HTML, etc.), every format prints all fields in one row. Can someone please provide the proper report layout that I can use to get my desired printout?

Field List won't "Allow Docking"

Good morning....Within the formula editor, I no longer can dock the "Field List"...Anyone know what I need to do to get this box to dock instead of float? Thanks, David

Well, if you search this site you will find some instructions on how to edit the registry to correct this error for versions 8.x through to 10. However, those instructions don't fix v11, which I'm using.In my case the "Field Tree" wouldn't dock. I fixed it by adding what appeared to be a missing REG_DWORD entry called 'Docking' here:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Formula Workshop\Formula\ToolBar-Bar4I created the REG_DWORD 'Docking', gave it a value of 1 and voila! - I could dock the Field Tree again. I suspect ToolBar-Bar2 & -3 are the Functions and Operators Tree.If you use this solution, you do so at your own risk. I only fiddled to this extent because I was one step away from re-installing and I didn't really care if I fouled the program operation up completely.I'm amazed this bug hasn't been fixed though.

Saving SE11 field list.

When we go to SE11 and give table name and press display, we get a field list. i wanted to save the complete list to desktop but Menu option System-List-Save is always disabled.. is there any other way to save table field list to desktop.

Hello,
One more option you can try is ,
Goto SE11-->Display table> Utilities>Runtime Object-> Display.
Here you will the grid layout of the table.
Next to the print button in the ALV grid, you have a button called Views with dropdown list. choose Print Preview to make the grid display to list.
Now you can choose System-List-Save to save it any required format

In CN41, when i click on project object, then in control data, i can see Jurisdiction Code.
What i would like to know is if it is possible to add that Jurisdiction Code in customizing to be able to sort it out with other fields when i choose fields (F5) in order to print them.

Another way to do this is to use Contact Sheet (https://itunes.apple.com/app/id894488957?mt=8) which can print your contacts and pictures or it can export them into an Excel file. You can print all of your contacts or just a select group that you choose. You can even share contacts and only include the fields you want, so, for example, if you want to share email addresses with a new mom's group but you don't want to share home addresses, you can create a contact share file (VCF) that only includes the names and email addresses of the members of your new mom's group!

If that is the case, just go to
Tool
- Options
-- Environment
--- Default Actions
and set
Printing to "Print full distribution list"
But use caution, if you print a mail with a large number of TO or CC, you will waste paper...

Printing iCal weekly list view

Experimenting with a trial version of Missing Sync to sync my Palm with iCal. Is it possible to delete the notes that appear under each event when I print the weekly list view? I print out 8 days and I want to keep it to one page. Eliminating the notes would help. Or is it possible to add the time frame to each event in the week view so you can more easily see the begin and end time for each event?
Is the Missing Sync program worth it or should I just use the sync program that came with iCal?
