Printing a JFrame -- it doesn't fit in one page

Hi, All:
I like to print out a JFrame to a page. But the JFrame is too big to fit o a page. Does anyone know how to shrink it down and it would fit in a page? The PageFormat I am using is landscape.
Any help is appreciated!

I am not responding to your current question. I am actually experiencing a problem you had some time ago. You didn't get any responses....but I'm wondering if you ever figured it out. I am getting a -2 when using executeBatch just like you did and can't figure-out why or how to fix it. Would you mind emailing me at [email protected] and tell me whether you ever solved this or not? If so, how?

Hi, your help is greatly appreciated.

executeBatch() is returning a array of -2, according to the api,
commands executed successfully, but the rows affected are
unknow. Is there any way to fix this so executeBatch() will
return the correct number?

How do I make a long table fit on one page?

I do a community newsletter, one page of which is a directory of residents. On this page, I have a table with 3 columns: name, address, and phone. There are 61 rows, which is too big to fit on an 8 ½ x 11 page. As people move in and out, I need to be able to change the name for the particular address and re-sort by name. Retaining this ability, how can I make this fit on one page? Ideally, I would be able to "break" the table into two parts of 30/31 rows each, with each part side by side on the 8 ½ x 11 page. I can't find a way to do this. Any help would be appreciated. I am working in Yosemite 10.10.1, and Pages 5.5.1. I have also created a Numbers 3.5 version of this table, but still cannot find a way to do what I want to do.

Do you have to print it, or are you sending this out via E-mail/PDF?
The fix below, should work, either way:
If you are actually not printing it, and are E-mailing/posting online, Export as PDF, and E-mail address will still be active...
If it must fit on a smaller page, for printing or for whatever reason, drag the aforementioned PDF into a 8.5 x 11 document, open Inspecter to Metrics, click to not constrain proportions, resize to fit then Export again as a PDF. The E-mail addresses will remain active. Here's screenshot of one with 61 rows, I made in less that 2 minutes as a mock-up. Links/E-mail still works.

How do I make the form/pdf fit to one page?

I designed my first form today and it's two pages long. How do I get it all to fit on one page? It will be saved as a pdf.

While designing the form it will help to be in Page View. This gives a very close approximation to how your fields will appear in the resulting pdf. In the Design tab use menu View-> Page View. All page breaks will now appear as dotted lines. To aid in fitting more fields you can place forms side by side or reduce the font size. Eliminating the Header also helps.

I have a long article I copied from Safari. I want to paste it in pages and save as document. Every time I try to do that, only what fits on one page of Pages appears. How do I copy the whole document? It would fit in five or six Pages pages.

I'll guess that you've used a page layout document & pasting created a text box. You can add more pages & create linked text boxes, but I think you'd be better of using a word processing document. In word processing documents there is a basic text layer & additional pages will be created as needed to fit the text. Take a look at the toolbar of your document. If it says "sections" for the +page icon it's a word processing document, if it says "pages" it's a page layout document.

How to have the values fit in one page - smartforms

I am working on smartforms. I am facing a problem, that is for one purchase order there are many line items, the line lines should not split across pages.
For eg:
for the item 4, half of the description is in the first page then its continuation goes to the second page.
That is not the way i want. suppose if the wholes values does not fit in one page it has to move to the second page , but if the value is able to fit in the first page then it can be displayed in first page otherwise it has to move to second page.

This is exact place where PAGE PROTECTION can be used.
In the attributes of the tables, there will a tab OUTPUT OPTIONS. There will a check box for PAGE PROTECTION. Check that and it will take care of the row split across pages.

I'm using version 2.1 and getting the following exception
System.InvalidOperationException: The event is too big to fit into one page. The maximum event size is '230' bytes, but the event size is '234' bytes. Try reduce the size of the event payload.
Everywhere I read tells me the maximum page size is 16K, so why am I hitting a 230 byte limit? Secondly how can I increase this to the full 16K?

That is ... unusual. I've never seen that. Can you provide some details on what your payload looks like and the query?

That's the way tables work in iWork. No option for automatic break within a cell/row. As you guessed, it's your responsibility to fix it manualy. Sometimes you can downsize the font or increase the column width to gain some room for your content. If you want constant format, you've got to do the manual breakup.
I'll add that Tables aren't always the best container for your material. I know that it's a comfortable look and feel, but when a row takes up a whole page, it may be time to rethink the design.

Oops - I spoke too soon. Open the Numbers Inspector and select the second tab. There you'll see *Content Scale* and *Page Layout*. If the Page Layout icons don't make sense, the first icon represents portrait view and the second landscape. You can also adjust scale with the Content Scale slider to fit more columns. You'll see how this affects your spreadsheet if you use Print View. When push comes to shove it may not be possible to fit it all on one page. (I hate that.)

Automatic break of row in a table when content is too large to fit on one page?

The content in some of the cells of a table is larger than the maximum space available on the page, with the result that the content at the bottom of the cell is not visible. How do I tell Pages to automatically break the row to continue on the next page? I also notice that Pages pushes a row to the following page when the content won't fit on the page with other rows but does so on a page of it's own. How do I tell Pages not to do that? I suspect it would be the same command, but I haven't found it yet. I can do this on Word....
I suppose I could manually cut the "offending" paragraphs and manually paste them into the next page, but I would rather have Pages do this for me as the content is being edited and so the quantity of material in cells are changing.
I hope I am intelligible enough for you to undertand what I'm trying to do. I'm running Pages 2009, if that matters.

The general process is to select the photo and print, select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize and under settings selec multiples copies of a photo (the preview will reflect this choice) and click print to print, make any printer specific selections and click print to print

Here is one way. View > Show Print View. At the bottom of the window is a slider control called Content Scale. Slide to the left to shrink the document.
Under File > Print... you will see a print preview that tells you how many pages the document now occupies.

How many albums could I fit in one page?

I'm using the iWeb 9. I'm trying to fit more than one album in one page. I need one page for "Home", one page for "contact Us" and one page for "Media". That media page will include several audio albums. I was only able to upload one single album per page. I have about 50 albums and according to this I need 50 pages!?

I'm trying to build something similar to this website but with a lot more audio albums, about 50 albums, some these albums contains more than 300 audio files.

It's for the church and i can't afford to pay thousands of dollars for a web builder, so I'm trying to use the iWeb and i just wanna know If I can do this.
I was able to use the "my albums" page as an audio album, it was great the only problem is that it's one album per page. I need one page titled "Media" and that page contains all the 50 albums. Could I do this?

Printing through Airport Extreme limited to less than one page.

I have my MacBook Pro, and my wife's MacBook (dual-core), connected wirelessly to my Airport Extreme (802.11n). I have my printer (Canon MP-800 Multifunction) connected to my Airport. When I try to print I can only get about 3/4 of one page to print, no matter how many pages the file really is. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Try the following on your Mac.....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon
Click the Internet Connection tab
Change the setting for Connection Sharing to read Share a public IP address
Click Update

Print to pdf often doesn't work with multiple pages?

When I try to print to pdf, it often doesn't work right.
I can select, for example, multiple Excel worksheets to print. It looks fine with 4 pages in Preview, but when I select save as .pdf, it only prints 2 of the 4 pages, and it prints those in 2 separate documents rather than a single .pdf document with multiple pages.
Is there a way to do this? Is this an Apple error or Microsoft error? Since it looks fine in Preview, my guess it is an Apple error?

It sounds like this is the problem with the way Apple handles multiple orientations in a pdf document. You can use Acrobat to print the files - it handles multiple orientations correctly. There was a previous thread on this:

All of my music doesn't fit on one drive

I would like iTunes to organize my entire collection, but my music collection is more than 300gb and requires two drives. My collection is very well organized, but has more than 1 year worth of continuous music play. Can iTunes be told that there is an 'iTunes' folder in more than one location?

The tracks are most likely still protected, since not all tracks are eligible for matching. You should enable the iCloud Status column in the iTunes browser to see what status the tracks are. If they are "uploaded" then all you did was re-download the protected files.
To enable the column switch to Song (or List) view, pull down View > View Options. Select "iCloud Status" and close with window. Post back and let us know what the status of the tracks in question are.
