Printing a list of apps

Before going to Lion, I want to print out a list of all my apps to chack campatability.
How do I print a list?

Go to the Apple icon top left in your menu bar, click on About this Mac. Click on Get more Info.
Find the list of installed applications (it can take a while for it to be compiled) and copy/paste that into a text editor.

Acrobat 9.3 + Windows 7 - Print Comments List CRASHES App

When trying to print comments within a PDF (via Comments View), Acrobat will crash. This happens across MULTIPLE machines Win7, WinXP, and Adobe 9.0 and Adobe 9.3. I'm supporting a user who NEEDS this ASAP! Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated.

same problem here - just upgraded in the last month to Windows 7, running Acrobat 9.3 STD.
HP elitebook 8730W, 1/2 gig on the nvidia Quadro graphics card and 4 gb ram - so that's not the problem, 2.8 ghz on the intel core duo - better not be the problem.
very unstable - crashes every time I try to open more than 1 pdf at a pop. Also routinely crashes when doing simple thinks like putting a sticky note on a doc. Very slow on any search functions.
I've lost many many hours to this program in the last month. any permanent solutions would be greatly appreciated.

How do I print a list of everyone in my Contacts app?

I followed the directions that Apple gives on this website for making a print out of all contacts:
Contacts (Yosemite): Print labels, envelopes, and lists
However, when I click print inside my Contacts app, I don't see the "Style" drop down menu that the directions make reference to. The following is all that I see. Can someone please help?

How do I view my subfolders so I can print a list of my directory (main folders and internal subfolders) without clicking the triangle to expand each main folder?

In VIEWING (to print) my iTunes music (in finder), how can i view subfolders without clicking on the triangle of each main folder?
I am trying to print a list of all my music. For example, main folder is BEATLES. Subfolders are Magical Mystery Tour, Yellow Submarine, Abbey Road, etc...
and I want to view and print all the subfolders. This is a recovery project after my hard drive failed. I know this is truly a "finder" question and will double post there.

Printing in list form , appointments ONLY in ical, not the whole month.

Hi there, I have already done a quick scan of the net and I am unable to come up with a solution.
All I want to do is be able to print out a list of appointments (with date etc) that I have made, not in month view, but just the dates with appointments in.
Is there an App to do this? I have found ICalPrint but it wont let me try it as a demo.
Please help, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just tried this for the first time lastnight and cannot believe how something so simple does not work. I have a calendar just for birthdays because I was working on a new iPhoto calendar. I wanted to print the list of birthdays and dates so I went to Print in iCal and saw the 'Print List' selection and thought that would work great.
I selected 1/1/08 as the start date and then selected for 365 days expecting just a list of upcoming events in the calendar. Instead it wants to print page after page with every date on it for the next year even if there is nothing scheduled for that day. It just prints 'None'. How hard would it be to have it just print what is in your calendar for the next xx days. I think it would be handy to have a list of upcoming events printed out to glance at or mark up.
I am glad I am not the only one that thought this was so simple, yet impossible to do. I hope it gets changed. Maybe with Leopard it will be different.

Print event list from iCal

I manage different calendars, private, work, hobby etc.
Now, I would like to print a list of upcoming events from one of those calendars.
My iPhone has a "list" option that does exactly what I want, but I can't print that.
I have tried File/Print selecting only the wanted calendar and a date span, but I don't get the expected result.
iCal will print ALL the days within the time span, including dates with no entry. I would like to see only a list with events...
Is this possible in iCal?

The only way I have found takes a few steps, but it is not too complex.
- It requires the desired events to have a common set of characters in each event so the Search function will pull them out together (e.g., xxx, day, class, etc.).
- These common characters can be in the main event text box at the top of the event, or they can be anywhere in the event (in the location field, in the note section of the event at the bottom, etc.)
- Next, be sure the Calendar is selected on which these events are listed (top left corner click on Calendars and put check in the appropriate box(es).
- Next, click in the Search box in the top right of the main Calendar window and type the common characters set you entered in all the events (e.g., day).
- This opens a window pane at the bottom of the Calendar window. To make the window pane larger click on the top of the window pane and drag it towards the top of the screen.
- In the window pane is a list of all the events that meet your search criteria.
- Click on all the events you want to print (<shift>mouse click on a range and <command>mouse click work here)
- Select print Calendar (File/Print, <cmd>P, ...)
- In the print window, first select or unselect the Calendars to print (so only the desired Calendar keys print)
- Next, in print window, at top in View, select "Selected Events"
- Select the print options you want
- Click on Continue, with takes you to the Printer window, and select the print and click Print (or PDF)
Done!
I believe this is much harder than it should be. I haven't yet found a 3rd party app that makes this any easier.

How do I print a list of files inside a portfolio?

I have been using Acrobat to make portfolios of pdf's for a short while. I would like to print a list of the files inside the portfolio. tx

Applying apps to my just bought C510 printer as well as apps pre-loaded not working

I have reinitialized the web services twice, now, and even went to far as to create a dedicated e-mail address for the printer. I keep getting either error with adding apps or having the printer code invalidated. I have uninstalled the printer software, where I had it on wireless, and reinstalled it for a hard connection (I find it more secure that way). And yes, my printer was listed as connected to the apps page. I have tried Photobucket and LastFM. I can't be bothered to try any more than that.
What do I have to do to load apps? What to I have to do to keep a printer code valid for more than a few minutes, which seems to be the case? This seems rather unnecessarily complicated for something that should work rather easily.
Also, some of the apps that come with the printer, like YouTube, won't play. It'll load, sometimes, but won't play the video. I can't reset clock or use the calculator. They click, but nothing happens after that. It won't register files on an SD card, like music (even though there is a music app on the Zeen, which better not be strictly through iTunes). Quite a few of the other apps won't work either, or only do sporadically.
How do I fix this?

No. Only apps purchased from the App Store can be re downloaded for free including updates.

How do I print a list of movies with artwork by title

I can't believe that after all the years iTunes has been out that they have not fixed this glitch. I want to print a list of my movies, with artwork. The problem is, although iTunes shows that my movies are sorted by Title, the print insists on sorting them by Artist. This just won't work as the Artists contains a list of the actors in the movie. iTunes also does not give you the option on what to include or exlude when printing a movie list.
Are there any 3rd party apps out there that can import the movie database, with artwork, and print a grid list?

So I think I have figured out a work around last night. When I look at the "Get info" on a movie and go to the Sorting tab, I just need to copy the Name into the Sort Artist field. My movies finally print in alphabetical order with artwork. Now if only Apple would fix that glitch at some point.

Trying to print a list using JOptionPane

I am very new to Java and programming, so please forgive me if this should be apparent. I wrote a program for school which was for ordering pizzas. I wrote it as a console program and after much frustration it finally worked. Now I am trying to change it to a GUI program using JOptionPane. I was hoping that since I already had the logic written and working, I could focus on the GUI aspect. I was wrong. I want to print a list of enums on a JOptionPane and cannot figure out how to do it My code in the console program was:

So how can I iterate through the for loop to list all of the styles in the JOptionPane? Do I need to turn it into a method with a return and then cal the method like

}... actually all the program does is display the GUI. But, can you see that the GUI's JLabels and JTextFields describe all the public properties of the Point class? Can you see that the entire GUI can be placed anywhere in a JFrame, or maybe even in a JDialog? From this point on, you can add other functions and features to your classes, GUI's and the main apps that run them.
A hint on your project, you may need to write a Pizza class that decribes all the things a single pizza can be - then come up with a GUI for that and an app that runs it.

How do I compile and print a list of photo titles

I have burnt several of my photos from iPhoto 2.01 on to a cd. I would like to compile and print a list of the titles of all these photos so I have some sort of an index of the photos for future reference. Is there a way of doing this?

Hi, Ian, and welcome to Apple Discussions. The simplest and most thorough way to do what you describe would be to use disk cataloguing software like DiskTracker. DT can compile a catalog of every file on every hard drive, CD, DVD, flash drive or other volume you have, then save the catalog either in its own native file format or as a text file that many other apps can open. You can search the catalog for a term appearing in any of the many fields it includes, including of course the filename. File Buddy can also do this, and it has hundreds of other uses as well. There are probably freeware file cataloguers available for download, but I don't know; I've had the two utilities mentioned above for a long time, and I consider File Buddy an incomparably valuable tool for any serious Mac user. I haven't needed to look elsewhere for file cataloguing capabilities since before the release of OS X.

Can't print message list?

I have been looking for a way to print a list of messages from Mail.app.
After about 2 weeks of searching I have nothing. I did find out that if I had an older version of Mail I could print summaries that had only the header information I need but it looks like upgrading actually removed that rather vital capability.
Does anyone know how I can print a list of the emails I have sent and received from Mail.app?
I already know that I can do this with Microsoft's Entourage and it seems like such a simple thing that I must be missing something. Or could it be that the Tiger Mail.app is just incomplete?
Any help would be appreciated.

You won't believe the solution I found. The Unix command "head"
Here's how it works, you go to the directory that the mail is found on the Finder.
Open Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
Dig into the folder to find the emlx files.
And type in the terminal:
head -20 *.emlx | more
That will show the first 20 lines of each e-mail in that folder.
You can change 20 to any value you want.
Once done, you can copy/paste into TextEdit or another word processor.

My eprint worked fine, now the print button on the app won't light up.

I signed up for eprint about four days ago and everything worked fine. Now the print button on the app will not light up and it
won't print anything. My son tried to set-up an app and it accepted his email and he registered but when he entered our printing email address ****@hpeprint .com it said it was not operating at this time. All of my family members have the same problem. I deleted the printer and when I attempted to re-enter the email address ****@hpeprint.com it says check printer email. The email address is the one I registered with eprint.
Where do you located your printers information on eprint?

You can veiw your printer's email address by logging into your ePrint Center account at eprintcenter.com.
It will be listed under the picture of the printer and after the word ePrint.
