Printing a PDF from a PDF generates a log file

I have pdfs that get generated from a web site and for whatever reason when I go to print them to pdf I just get a log file. I can print to pdf from any other pdf file. I need to do this so that it basically flattens the pdf and the end user can't see where I have typed or added a text box to blank out stuff.
I've tried examining the doc and stripping it of everything.
I've tried making it compatible with Acrobat 8 v1.7
I've tried opening in Acrobat STD, no security set and resave and yet when I open it backup the minimal security settings are back.
I have acrobat 8 std, and reader 8. The original pdf was v1.3, produced apparently from the web site with GPL Ghostscript 8.15, everything is allow in security except doc assembly, commenting, signing, creation of template pages.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
George

There is one on the fonts tab of the settings. This one is for problems with embedding and says to create the PDF anyway. Font embedding with unlicensed fonts is a common problem for failure in the creation process and that is why I was suggesting it. Also, your discussion of security raises a flag. It suggests that there is some security setting and that may be the issue.

    You can use a Trigger and UTL_FILE to write to a file (on the server).
    Example:
    create or replace trigger test_file
      after insert or delete or update on test_case
      for each row
    declare
    v_logfile utl_file.file_type;
    begin
      v_logfile := utl_file.fopen('\myfiles','test_file.log','a');
      if inserting then
         utl_file.put_line(v_logfile,'Inserting to table');
      elsif deleting then
         utl_file.put_line(v_logfile,'Deleting to table');
      else
         utl_file.put_line(v_logfile,'Updating to table');
      end if;
      utl_file.fclose(v_logfile);

  • Idoc types that generate the log files

    Hi All,
    Can anybody provide me the list of IDOC types that generated application log files.
    As I found that material master IDOCs generate log files. Is there IDOC types other
    than material master that generate log files.
    Regards,
    Azra.

    Hi Azra,
    You can tell whether an IDOC does create the application log from the function module it uses.
    Go to SE37, and type in IDOC_INPUT_<message_type> for inbound or IDOC_OUTPUT_<message_type> for outbound, and search for any function module which start with 'BAL_'. If you can find it, then it creates application log files.

  • File Printed to PDF does not match file displayed on Print Screen in OD

    I have Oracle Discoverer reports (scheduled) that I open and print to PDF files monthly. My files process and display on my computer screen without any errors. However, when I click FILE-PRINT, I immediately receive the error message "Not all rows have been retrieved. Data may be inaccurate." Most times the PDF files print correctly. However, sometimes not all of my columns are calculated when my pdf file opens. Changing settings under options (Query Governor) does not appear to make any difference. Any help would be appreciated. Sandy

    Hi Sandy,
    this is not an error as such, when u run the report in oracle discoverer desktop, it will fetch only first set of values when you scroll down, it will fetch next set of values and so on, if u go to the setup in the discoverer desktop in the edit menu, you can actually set number of records to be retrieved, If u set that according to ur requirement, you will get all the records and it will be properly printed.

  • Can I generate .txt / .log file from Oracle Diagnostic Logging?

    Hi all,
    on my application I need to limit the size of application log, I've read this [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b14432/logadmin.htm#CHDJHHHB|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b14432/logadmin.htm#CHDJHHHB] that using ODL, but generated file is .xml, but I need .log / .txt file. How can I do this??
    thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kahlil

    ODL generates log files in XML format only. Using ODL you can not have plain text format log files. You have to decide what is more desired - log rotation (that ODL provides) or text format (which is the default, non-ODL, format). If text format is more desired than don't enable ODL and write your own shell script to rotate application log (but that can only be done while OC4J is down).
    At the same time if you are concern about readability of log file (i.e. text format is easier to read vs. xml format) than you might consider using one the log viewer tool (log viewer in EM or printlogs command line) provided by Oracle. Both of these tools help you view the logs in much more readable format than just looking at xml format log file.
    (printlogs utility is under $OH/diagnostic/bin directory. Run "printlogs -help" to read about it).
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Generating archieve log files

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone tell me why lot of archieving log files are generated autoamtically like I hav faced 15-16 GB of log files in 2 days.
    Thanks in advance,
    Soumya
    Edited by: Soumya06 on Jan 7, 2011 6:03 AM

    Hi,
    Archive logs are created only when there s some action on the daabase. It meas that in the last 2 days there were many activities performed on your database :
    1. Check the background jobs in the last 2 days.
    2. check whether any patching, client copy has been performed.
    3. Also check the time during which the archive logs gets created in huge number.

  • Printing all messages when WEBLOGIC starts in its log file

    Hello i am following all these steps
    Step 1. Copy log4j-1.2.9.jar & wllog4j.jar under domain_root/lib folder.
    Step 2. Create log4j.xml and drop it under domain_root folder. If you have log4j.xml inside the application(EAR/WAR), I would recommend to move outside EAR/WAR as
    changing severity (log level) would require re-deployment. To avoid this, we can move log4j.xml into domain root folder but again the server needs to be bounced.
    But there is a fix.
    Step 3. Login to weblogic server console. Go to Servers -> Admin Server-> Logging.
    Click on advanced mode. Change the logging implementation from JDK to Log4J.
    Click save.
    Step 4. Activate changes. Re-start the admin server.
    This should enable log4j and should write logging into log file mentioned in log4j.xml or properties file.
    Hang on! There is a catch here. Say now I want to change the log level from DEBUG into WARN or ERROR.
    How do i do?
    We go to log4j.xml and change the level.
    Now how does this change take into effect? It needs bouncing of the server.
    I have given below sample log4j.xml for your reference...
    log4j.xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><!DOCTYPE log4j:configuration SYSTEM
    "log4j.dtd">
    <log4j:configuration>
    <appender name="CONSOLE" class="org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender">
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern"
    value="%d [%t] %-5p %c - %m%n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    <appender name="FILE" class="org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender">
    <param name="File" value="/log/myApp.log"/>
    <param name="Append" value="true"/>
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d{ISO8601} %t %-5p %c{2} - %m%n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    <logger name="org.apache">
    <level value="WARN"/>
    </logger>
    <logger name="org.springframework">
    <level value="WARN"/>
    </logger>
    <root>
    <level value="DEBUG"/>
    <appender-ref ref="FILE"/>
    <!-- <appender-ref ref="CONSOLE"/> -->
    </root>
    </log4j:configuration>
    I Followed all these steps , but finally i am getting an empty file myApp.log at specified destination , i want all log messages inside that file when WEBLOGIC starts , so what needs to be done for that

    I guess the issue here is that somehow the log4j configurations are not getting picked up.
    Please try adding the LOG4j configurations explicitly onto the classpath:-
    set LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE=log4j.xml
    set SAVE_JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dlog4j.configuration=%LOG4J_CONFIG_FILE%
    @REM set SAVE_CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%
    set SAVE_CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\config

  • SQL LOADER NOT GENERATING BAD,LOG FILES

    Hi

    Thanks.

    Hi,
    As per ur saying the recodes are inserted successfully, so the bad file wont get created. And considering the log file, the path should mentioned in the CTL file and if not mentioned then the log file will created in the same area where the CTL file with the name of ctl file with extension .log instead of .ctl

    Hi all,
    We found this query has been run every minute from B1 client. It slows down the system, as we have over 100,000 records in table OCLG - activities. How do we stop this query to be run from B1 client. Also, anyone know what is the number for Duration in B1 log file, does the number mean CPU time? We got Duration=3581 for this query. but it takes about 10-15 seconds to run the same query from SQL 2005 management studio. Any idea?
