Printing a Photo Book project in Elements 10

I am wanting to create a book, for home printing, to cataloge the life of my new dog. It could therefore eventually contain a large number of pages and I will need to add pages as time goes by.
But I would also want to print pages as they are designed and add them to the binder on a regular basis.
Problem is that I have been completely unable to find any option for printing selected pages.
The programme only seems to be capable of printing the whole project, which means that if I have 50 pages all of them will be printed once I hit the Print button.
I have searched all of the print options, page set up otions etc. but cannot find anything that allows me to print, say, pages 25-30.
Is there a solution to the problem please?

Windows or mac? On a mac, just choose the pages you want in the OS X print window that opens up after you click Print in the PSE print window. You may need to expand the window by clicking the arrow next to the printer's name (10.6) or by clicking Show Details (10.7).
In windows, you do this in the printer preferences:

  • Can I print the photo book with any fonts?

I would like to print a photo book using iphoto. Is it possible to print this by using any fonts?

Don't get up your hopes, Old Toad . I never tried to buy a photo book from the iPad.
The documentation does not say much:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5037
It only mentions, that you can change the font size:
    Edit text on a page
Tap Projects, and tap the photo book to open it.
Double-tap the page containing the text you want to work with.
    Do the following:
Align the text: Tap the text box, and choose an alignment style from the menu that appears directly above the text box.
Choose the font size: Tap the text box, and tap the font size you want.
Make changes to the text: Double-tap the text box, and type.
No mention of the supported font. Probably the fonts will depend on the country of the Print Products Store you are using:
To change countries, tap at the top-left corner of the screen, and select another country from the list.

  • Are there more than 2 photo book sizes in Elements 13?

I downloaded Elements 13 as a trial and started creating a photo book.  When doing so, I only see the Print locally option (no Shuterfly or other online services), and it only shows 2 print sizes, 297x210mm and 300x300mm).  I would like to print a photo book using letter size paper in a portrait orientation.  The first size scales easily to a letter size page, but is in a landscape orientation.  While I can rotate each layer and graphic, I do not appear to be able to rotate the background itself.  I purchased a full license and was expecting to be able to download additional content, but the Update feature says I am up to date.  I downloaded a fresh copy from the purchase screen and reinstalled it, but I see no differences.
Are there more photo book templates, graphics, etc. available?  If so, how do I go about getting them?  If not, how do I either rotate the one template or create a new template in the correct orientation?

This third part applications are nice but obviously can be confusing.
As far as I know all Toshiba notebooks have two memory slots. Some old models have had one slot only so on your Qosmio you cannot use more than 2 RAM modules.
According notebook specification maximum RAM for this machine is 8GB so you are already on maximum.

  • How to migrate photos from a Photo Book project to Photo Album

Is there a way to move the photos I've collected in my Apple Photo Book project file back into my Photo Library as a single album?  The originals were spread out over 5 years. Took me a while to find them, then save them to this project file.   I want to save this condensed group of images back to one album in my Photo Library for easy access.  Though the pics were taken over a 5 year period, they are of the same, favorite vacation spot.
I have OX 10.10.3 running Photos.  Have iCloud sync.
    Thanks!

    Hi Godfrey,
Make a new album in the source column naming it after your book
Highlight the book in the source column
Start at the first page of your book
Drag each image from the book into the new album in the source column.
This can only be done one by one. I have tried "selecting all" and it does not work.

I created a photo book in Photoshop elements 11 that contains png files with the invisible backgrounds.  When I export the book to a jpg or a pdf, the png files appear with white backgrounds.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

jpg and pdf formats don't support transparency. You need to use a format such as tif, png or psd that does.

  • Can't Find my Photo Book Project?!

I was in the middle of adding pictures to my photo book project and it gave me the little round "I'm thinking" Icon and it was taking forever, it sat for more than 5 minutes so I did a hard shut down.
When I restarted my Mac my whole project was gone!! All of my pictures are still there in the events section but the project is nowhere to be found. Please tell me I didn't just loose hours of work!? Where does iPhoto store projects by default.
Also I have Time Machine and I tried to back up the entire iPhoto application and still no luck. Is there somewhere where my project is hiding?
Please give me some advice, thanks!!

    Dana:
For a quicker and easier way to recover from similar losses in the future see the tip at the end of my signature below. You can run the referenced application as frequently as you want, after every import, every change to a book or calendar, etc. like you would use the Save command in other applications. iPhoto does not have to be closed to use it, just idle. If the problem exists, just replace the damaged database file with the backup version and you're back up and running.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • What version of iPhoto do I need to print a photo book?

I have an old MacBook I'm using with OSX 10.6.2 and iPhoto 7.  I spent hours putting together a photobook only to be told it printing photo books is not supported in that version. However, iPhoto 9 is not compatible with my OSX. Any lesser version of iPhoto I can get so I can still print my photo book? Any other ideas for getting this printed?

Print products are only supported for iPhoto '09, version 8.1.x, or iPhoto '11, version 9.x.x.
If you cannot upgrade to any of these iPhoto version, consider to export your book as PDF and send this PDF to a third-party print service.
See this support document:  Apple Photo Services: Product line details for books, cards, and calendars - Apple Support
iPhoto 8.1.2 will work with your system. You would need to buy an iLife '09 installer DVD from Amazon or eBay, to have a full version of iphoto '09 to update to 8.1.2.

  • Printing PSE Photo Books

I have recently completed a 2-Volume Family History Photo Book. I uploaded it to Shutterfly as I have done successfully in the past and this time the formatting of the pages is all wrong and the books are not printable. Would someone have any advice on how to correct this problem? I am on a tight timeline to get these books printed for a reunion coming soon.
PS: This problem occurred using Elements 10 so I upgraded to Elements 11 and got the same result

Give this basic remedy a try. Quit iPhoto and delete your iPhoto preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.iphoto.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iPhoto; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
If that doesn't work, do a verify and repair of permissions using Disk Utility.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to print a Photo Book to an online service?

How do I go about ordering a photo book from any of the on line services when the program will only save my created book in the pse file format and none of the services recognize that format.  I have tried several services and can't fine one that will allow me to upload my files in the proper way.  The services don't allow me the creativity that I bought the PSElements for.  Since losing Kodak I am stuck.  Will Elements 11 solve this problem?  I would rather not have to relearn the whole program again at this time.  Thanks for any help you can give.
Message title was edited by: Brett N

Basically, you have to create the Photo Book in the format of a print service (which print service you have availble depends on the version of Photoshop Elements you are using). If you create a Photo Book using the "Print Locally" template, you will not be able to send it to a print service because it will be in the PSE format. For PSE11, the online printer we use is shutterfly.
With a PSE file, there is a companion folder that has a PSD file for each page. These can generally be used by print services, or they can be convered to a supported file format with Process Multiple Files under the File menu.

  • How can I print a photo book in Mandarin

I have just returned from Taiwan and would like to send a photo book to an amazing gentleman I met who only speaks Mandarin. I have access to a first rate translator, but couldn't find information pertaining to printing in this language. Thank you.

If the Mac supports Mandarin (I looked in the languages section of the System preferences and saw several asian languages but couldn't tell which, if any, were Mandarin) you might be able to use Language Switcher with iPhoto to create the book in Mandarin, preview it according to this Apple Document,http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 , and then order it.

  • How do I share my photo book project with my other computer?

I have started creating a photo book in iPhoto on my iMac.  I would like to continue to work on it on my macbook.  Is there a way of sharing the project via iCloud or some other way?
    Please help

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • Updating newly imported photos into my photo book project

I am making a photo book but I am missing a lot of my photos in the little thumbnails above the project. I started this book awhile ago and it seems that the photos I am missing are ones I have uploaded to Iphoto since I started this project. How can I get the new photos included in the project so I can add them to my book?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. To add photos to a book project just drag and drop them onto the book icon in the left hand pane.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How do I find completed photo book project

Hi, I completed a photobook project a couple of years ago and had a hard copy made. I would like to retrieve that project so I can download the photos. Please tell me how I can do that and also how I can order another photo book of the one I had completed before. Thanks.

    Hey Bernadette,
After you create a book, it is saved in iPhoto, and you can open and view your books in the Bookshelf in full-screen view and from the Source list in the iPhoto main window.
To open a book in the iPhoto main window:
Click the book name in the Source list.
The book appears in All Pages view.
To get information about a book, position the pointer over the book’s name at the top of the window.
If you're in full-screen mode and want to open a previous book project, or you just want more info, you can find it here:
iPhoto '11: Open and view an existing photo book

  • Help - Photos ruined my photo book project

I've been working on a project in iPhoto to create a photo book of my trip to Ireland last year.  Had spent about 6 hours on this, and was about 2/3 of the way through.  Got a notice today to download Photos, so I did so.  However, when I opened the project in Photos, it totally rearranged all my photos, to the point that all I can do with the existing project is to start from scratch.
I am running Time Machine.  Is there any way that I can restore the prior version of the project, and then be able to continue working on it in Photos without Photos rearranging all the photos?
Thanks in advance for your help.

That was originally impossible, as iPhoto was removed from my Mac when Photos was installed. However, I was able to recover iPhoto (and the project) from Time Machine

    SharedInk
    ImageStation
    PhotoWorks
