Printing blank pages for entire document

I can see the PDF from within the browser or in Adobe Reader. It also shows in the thumbnail in the print dialog box. But, it prints black pages for each page of any of my documents. From within the web browser (Firefox 3.02 or IE 7), print preview shows it as blank also. I can print form other applications. This is using Adobe 9.0 on Windows Vista. Version 8.0 also stopped working recently, so I upgraded to version 9 to try and fix this issue.

Hi Sanjeev,
Generally, if the report display properly in the browser, it should be also work well when we print the report. And I can’t reproduce the scenario in my own environment. As to this issue, I recommend that you can try to run it in compatibility mode or use
IE explorer to print the report.
If this issue still exists, please try to update the report viewer control to latest release and check this issue again.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong

  • My printer prints blank pages from my documents but prints pages from e-mail fine

My HP printer prints blank pages from my documents.  When I print any other pages it prints fine.  Thank you

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN, bluetooth? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?

I have created an SSRS Report that works well on chrome, but when I use the site in Firefox the SSRS Page prints blank pages though the report displays properly. I have tried every thing like reducing table width. I am using the report viewer control.

  • Windows Machine Prints Blank Pages

Purchased the new Airport Extreme n this week. I was able to get the wireless working with my iMac and Windows XP laptop, however I am having printing issues.
I have a Canon 4200 hooked up to the Extreme via a USB hub. I was able to get the XP machine to see the printer, but when I print, it prints blank pages. I can tell that it recognizes the document because it prints blank pages for however many pages are in my document. I went through the iFelix steps but get the same result.
I searched through the forum (in addition to other independent mac forums), but most people's issues are with the Extreme simply recognizing the printer.
    Please help!
    Airport Extreme N

Can't see the channel would make any difference, although specifying a channel might be better than letting it wander.
There won't be any printer settings in the extreme settings (didn't realise that was what you were after) they will be in the printer utility on your mac. Again you have probably done it but your printer should be set up as a network device not a s a USB device. Sorry I can't be of any more help at the moment.
It might encourage you to know that I had my printer working just fine, I changed some setting just as a trial and it started printing full pages of yellow, I changed the setting back and it was OK again. Only thing is I don't remember what setting I changed.
Have you tried WEP instead of WPA. and have you tried restarting (not resetting) all your devices.
Got to go to bed, 5am here, hope someone else picks up this thread with you, there are a lot of good people here.

  • Printer prints blank pages when I turn it on

When I turn my printer on it starts to endlessly print blank pages for no reason. I have checked the print log and there isn't anything waiting to be printed. I have reset the printer, unplugged the power supply, and reset my computer. None of this worked. I have a HP PSC 1410 All-in-one.

Have you tried disconnecting the printer from the computer?
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the printer.
    3. Power on the printer.
    Does it still print continously?

Simple start would be to see if you can print in another browser like Internet Explorer or Google Chrome, then we can identify that it is the Firefox update that caused this issue

  • Firefox 17 on Windows 7 prints blank pages after printing selection

I need to be able to highlight text on a webpage and print only that text using the print selection inside the file/print tab. However, instead, I am getting only that highlighted text AND then blank pages (with headers and footers) keep printing (how many pages that print depends on the actual size of the webpage).
I have Windows 7, 32bit and Firefox 17. I updated Firefox this morning and restarted but the problem still exists. I did not have this problem when I had Windows XP.
The print selection works properly in IE9.

Firefox's Print Selection feature has always left much to be desired...
What I get is blank pages ''before'' the selection but not after. You get blank pages for the entire document? That's especially unhelpful.
I am aware of two ''workarounds''. Each isolates the selection by itself so you can print it normally, i.e., without choosing Print Selection.
    '''[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nuke-anything-enhanced/ Nuke Anything Enhanced]'''
After installing this add-on, when you have a selection and right-click it, you can choose "Remove everything else" to isolate the text for printing. Note that you need to reload the page to see the rest of the content again.
    '''Bookmarklet'''
Before learning about the above, I wrote a small script to isolate the selection for printing. I wouldn't use it if you are filling in a form, making a purchase, etc., since the script duplicates part of the page and this may break the form. On the other hand, at least there is some level of undo without reloading the page.
If you want to try it, here are the steps:
    (1) Select and copy the following line of script (it's all one long line):
    javascript:var sel=window.getSelection(); if(!sel.isCollapsed){var rng=sel.getRangeAt(0); if(!rng.collapsed){var docfrag=rng.cloneContents(); if(!document.getElementById("divHideMe")){var rng2=document.createRange(); rng2.selectNodeContents(document.body); var myContainer=document.createElement("DIV"); rng2.surroundContents(myContainer); myContainer.setAttribute("id","divHideMe"); rng2.detach();} myContainer.style.display="none"; if(document.getElementById("printFrag")){var myFrag=document.getElementById("printFrag"); while(myFrag.firstChild) {myFrag.removeChild(myFrag.firstChild);} myFrag.style.display="block";}else{var myFrag=document.createElement("DIV"); myFrag.setAttribute("id","printFrag"); document.body.appendChild(myFrag);} myFrag.appendChild(docfrag); rng.detach(); var myP=document.createElement("P"); myFrag.appendChild(myP); myP.setAttribute("id","killBtn"); var myBtn=document.createElement("INPUT"); myP.appendChild(myBtn); myBtn.setAttribute("type","button"); myBtn.setAttribute("value","Return to Page"); myBtn.setAttribute("onclick","document.getElementById('divHideMe').style.display='block'; document.getElementById('printFrag').style.display='none';"); myStyle=document.createElement("STYLE"); myFrag.appendChild(myStyle); myStyle.setAttribute("type","text/css"); myStyle.setAttribute("media","print"); myStyle.innerHTML="#killBtn{display:none}";}} void 0;
    (2) Right-click the Bookmarks Toolbar and choose New Bookmark. (If you do not ordinarily display the Bookmarks Toolbar, you can add it to the menu instead. Whatever will be convenient.)
    (3) Click in Location and paste the script.
    (4) Click in Name and name it whatever you like (I call it Crop4Print) and then click Add.
Now after selecting text, click the bookmarklet button to hide the rest of the page.

  • Printing blank pages (that aren't actually blank) problem.

I'm having a weird problem with an InCopy file. I'm using Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 2 and InCopy CS3 5.0.3 (and InDesign CS3 5.0.3, although that's not giving me any problems).
I created a series of files for a book in InCopy; each file is a single story. These files are then linked to InDesign layout files (it made sense to the actual content in InCopy, because each of these files will be formatted four separate ways for different book layouts, and I will be updating some of the information quite frequently).
I printed out one file in InCopy to proofread it. As I was looking through, I noticed that certain pages didn't print. When I went back and tried to print them individually, an error popped up telling me that the selected pages were blank, and to select the "print blank pages" option from the print dialog box...except that option doesn't come up anywhere in the dialog box, or under any setting that I can find. This error makes no sense in the first place, as far as I can tell, since if the text displays in layout view, and in preview mode, shouldn't it not be considered blank? Trying to print the pages on a spread with the other pages that printed fine in the first place doesn't change a thing, either. The page that worked initially prints, the one that InCopy claims is blank doesn't.
I tried restarting. I tried copying the offending text into a blank document--which works, if I set the paragraph styles back to basic paragraph (I tried reimporting the paragraph style from InDesign and applying it, and the error came back). I checked to make sure the text wasn't somehow on another, non-printing layer. I checked to make sure that all of the paragraph and character styles were the same as in the printing pages. I tried trashing InCopy preferences. Oddly enough, the InDesign file, with the linked text from this InCopy document, prints just fine, without me checking the "print blank pages" box.
This is driving me crazy. I've only been using InDesign since last winter, and I've only been using InCopy for a few months, so I'm certainly no expert. Am I missing something painfully obvious, or is this a bug, or what?

    Hello RED430,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your Deskjet F4580 is printing blank pages. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend following this entire HP document on Troubleshooting Print-Quality Issues.
Could you print a extended self test report from your printer to verify if you're receiving any color on this page. Please let me know on this post: (Source)
Make sure you have plain white, letter-size paper loaded in the input tray.
Press and hold the Power button ( ) and the Cancel button ( ) for 10 seconds. The extended self-test report prints.
If this page comes out blank, then I would suggest cleaning the cartridges which is indicated from this document. If this page comes out with all colors, then I need to find out your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!

  • HP 3510 All In One only printing blank pages after cartridge replacement

Recently replaced my blank ink cartridge after supply level showed low, and printed output looked faded.
Using genuine HP product - check
Cartridge supply level good - check
Powered on and off twice - check
Installed, removed, re-installed cartidges - check
    Good paper - check
Alignment prints blank page - does not print partial or low quality, just produces a blank page.
Printing from my computer, a word document, also produces a blank page - not parital - blank.
Was printing before the HP cartridge change.
Did I buy a bad HP cartridge?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention that I am not getting an error message either, except when I go through the motions of scanning the (blank) alignment page.  That error is related to the fact that it is blank though.
    Thanks for any assistance.

  • InDesign causing others to print blanks pages

Okay so this is a weird issue and I'm getting no results.
My issue is simple. After I print in ID anyone else I work with prints blank pages (We're printing through a network to a device). Also cyan prints incorrectly; however that is fixed if I open the print driver from the print dialog. Now the color thing is a problem through all the adobe software (Illy, Photoshop, Acrobat). No matter which program I use cyan prints wrong. But back to the main issue, strictly ID causes others to print blank. It isn't consistent either. A single document could consecutively cause the blanks then not cause them a little later. We've tried ever print driver possible and the problem persists. Another curious behavior with ID in conjunction with Acrobat is if Acrobat is open and I try to export to .pdf from ID then both programs freeze (however no message of either not responding comes up in the activity monitor) and the preferences are erased from ID
I've spent 4 hrs on the phone with Adobe support and it's just some indian reading from a handbook asking over and over if I deleted my preferences. I've spent days with the printer manufacturer and worked with 7 of their tech specialists and even had them send out a new unit and  still the issues. I need to know if the rest of the world is seeing this. Or if this is even close to something someone has seen
So from what I'm seeing is a problem with the PostScript writing that's freaking it out but I'm not software engineer so I can't say for sure.
I'm running CC (though we still had the problems on CS6)
    OSX 1.7
    ID version 9.2.2
printer  is a Konica Bizhub 554e (it's a laser copier)
    Thanks,

I actually have created a .pdf and had others print it (a file I create in ID and export to pdf). What ends up happening is if I try to print the pdf people after me get blanks. However if someone else prints it there is no issue. I may have left out an important point I'm the only mac that uses the printer, everyone else  uses pc (and I don't know if that's an issue). I only have a postscript driver available (which is good) but i don't know what everyone else is using. I want to say in all of this i heard they have a PCL driver.
As far as the router, I'm hardwired into the network so there is no router. Konica and our IT have checked the network and ruled out that possibility (and I don't really know what that means)
But you are reaffirming the fact it is the printer and they need to fix it. And the fact that a document printed with only cyan is printed with all four colors to give me some weird off color makes me think the disconnect is between Adobe and the printer. But still so weird about the blanks.
    Thanks for the input

  • NEW Officejet 4620 prints blank pages!

We got a replacement for a not very old HP Officejet, a new right out of the box, Officejet 4620.  It is networked with a Mac desktop and an older Macbook.  I installed it yesterday using the ink cartridges it came with, got it networked with both computers, and it worked GREAT -- yesterday.  Today it is only printing blank pages from the desktop!  Argh!  What's going on?

  • Printer prints blank pages despite cleaning, won't align

HP photosmart B210 all of  sudden prints blank pages and won't align

    Hi @bhoover64,
I see that you are getting blank pages and the printer won't align. I can help you with this.
Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
I have provided a document to go through the steps to see if that will resolve the issue.

  • 932c prints blank pages

I have an old but always reliable, until today, 932c deskjet, tied to a dell e521 Vista (home basic) computer.  The printer worked fine yesterday, and now prints blank pages. (Correction -- nearly blank, there are very faint horizontal irregular dashed lines in the "draft" quality setting. If I set the print quality on best, it does appear to print the document to a very slight degree, but still unreadable.) The cartridge indicator is on the far right (the OK position, and there are no blinking lights.  In that it was printing very clearly yesterday, I am sure there is ink in the cartridge.
Any ideas?  (One last note:  given that two new cartridges will be approach the cost of a newer and faster machine, that is one solution that I have considered trying and have ruled out.)
    Thanks

Try printing a diagnostic page as shown here.  If this page is blank then gently blot the printheads on a damp tissue.  The black cartridge should have a dark black blot and the color should show dark stripes of cyan, magenta and yellow.  If the cartridges do blot properly but do not print the printer electronics may have failed.  If the cartridges do not blot properly then I would suggest returning the cartridges to the printer and running three cleaning cycles from the toolbox.  If this does not clear the problem then try soaking the printhead in 1" of very hot water for a few minutes, then blot on a tissue and try a test page.
