Printing boarding passes, bar code coupons, and more

Please, I could really use some help,I never had this problem with my other pc's and printers. When I print a bar code coupon from my email only the restraunts logo prints, when printing a boarding pass the basic info is blank, when trying to print a statement from a hotel I downloaded only the logo prints-not the information. Map quest prints, seems like only more secure info doesn't. This is the first time I tried printing using this hp printer and a hp notebook pc .

Sorry that you all are having a problem printing barcodes. You can try to download an alternative driver to see if that will help.
(Shane_R) has a great post on how to download different drivers. Try the Deskjet 990c.

Printing tab in Bar Code using SAPScript

Hi,
We are trying to print information from multiple fields in Bar code (using Code128 symbology) on our Utility Invoices, printing of which is done using SAPScript.
Our objective is that when accepting payment using FPCJ transaction, the Cash Desk Operator will use a Bar Code Scanner and import relevant invoice data into multiple fields.
However, for that to happen, it is necesary to print tab feeds between data of contiguous fields using Bar code.
We have tried printing tab feeds in Bar Code using hexadecimal '09'. But it has not helped. Can anybody suggest how one can print tab feeds in Bar Code using SAPScript?

To Create a Bar code prefix:
1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
<C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.

Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
- a barcode printer
- a barcode reader
- a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

To display Bar Codes in smartforms you need to create charecter format in smartsyles:
Example :
Charecter Format :BC
Description : Bar Code
Bar code Name : C128A
And next insert two text node in the tempalte
1. &value1& type BC for dispalying barcode lines
2. &value1& type any for dispalying values for the barcode.
This way you can display the values in form of barcodes.

Cannot view or print boarding passes from easy jet on ipad

cannot view or print boarding passes from easy jet which are viewed via Adobe Reader. Get a message to say Adobe Reader needed and it just goes round in a loop

Printing boarding passes and Fedex labels

When I use Safari for Windows to print my airline boarding passes or Fedex labels at work it reduces the size by about 25%. Is there a setting I'm not familiar with that is causing this? I don't have the same problem with Firefox or IE.

I have the same issue with UPS labels. To get around it, I do a print preview, click the settings icon (looks like a gear) and then set the margins to 0.25 (quarter-inch) all the way around. YMMV

I have a nagging problem I hope to find the answer to. I fly Southwest Airlines a lot and want to check-in online and print my boarding pass on my Mac. But the bottom half of the boarding pass page is covered with garish colored advertising that would empty my inkjet cartridges after one or two printings. Is there any way to print the top half containing the necessary boarding information and not print the bottom half, leaving it blank? I'd love to find an editing trick that would eliminate the ads. When trying to print I get error code 30892 and authentication required how do I fix this?

I am new to my Mac and am having trouble printing. I keep getting error code -30892 and authentication required and it can't print. I have sharing features open on both my PC and my Mac. Any suggestions?

Doesn't sound like any error number I'm familiar with. What's your set-up? Are you using a print server?

BAR Code Print Using Font Free 3 of 9 Extendted

We have installed BAR Code Font TTF file for Code 3 0f 9 Extended using se73 in SAP as well same in windows.
Scaneer show 100% confidance (recognize well) while printing the text from MS Word( Testing Purpose). but while Printing from SAP Sscript scanner dont recognize the print bar code( We have installed the same font by SE73) in SAP.
Could any one help us what may be issue while printing from SAP SCript , SAP is not printing the actual BAR Code same as MS Word.

Hi,
Each Code 39 printer can also print 'Extended Code 39' barcodes. It is only the Bar Code scanner that must be switched to 'Extended Code39'.
In a Code 39 Barcode you can use the characters 0-9, A-Z and the characters -. $/+%
For an Extended Code 39 barcode a combinition of these characters get a special meaning. See the link below:

You create a bar code or change a bar code in the font maintenance transaction (transaction SE73). To do this, proceed as follows:
¡        Start transaction SE73, and choose System Bar Codes ® Change.
¡        If you create a bar code, the system asks whether you want to use the new bar code technology or traditional system bar codes. Choose New.
You can enter a name and a description for the bar code. Note that the name must begin with a Z to avoid conflict between your bar codes and the standard bar codes.
¡        You are asked which bar code symbology and which bar code alignment is to be used, both when creating and when changing bar codes. For information about what you should specify for the requested parameters, see the SAP Note 645158 in the SAP Service Marketplace. This SAP Note is always kept up-to-date.
       2.      If you have created a new bar code, you must now add this to a Smart Style as a character format.
3.      You can now select text in Smart Forms and choose the corresponding style with the bar code as the character format for this text.

You need to use a SMARTSTYLE and create a CHAR format and create a BAR Code there and use it in the Smartform.
If you need more info, goto Transaction : SMARTSYLES, do an F4 and in the text area, look for Bar Codes. And see how these Styles are used in the Smartforms.
If somehow you can't preview it properly and the printout didn't show any barcode at all..
First try to use Standard Barcodes like TYPNR or RSNUM etc in the charcter format...
You can preview the output at any moment IF YOU USE THE CORRECT BARCODE FORMAT.
But printer should support barcode printing for taking printout. Otherwise in printout it will print junk values...
If you want to print bar codes from R/3 using device type HPLJ4, HPLJ5, HPLJ5SI or HPLJ4000 on HP LaserJet 4, 5, 6 or 4000 series printers, you need what is known as a SIMM module (IC card). This SIMM module is called "JetCAPS Intelligent Barcode SIMM" and can be obtained for most HP LaserJet 4, 5, 6 and Laser Jet 4000 printers. For more detailed information regarding barcode printers refer to Notes 5196, 121305, 119471

Do you use crystal report or standard Print Layout?
if you use Crystal Report, Normally we use font "Code39"
Try this:
Add asterick ( * ) between the text you want to scan.
e.g.
asterickDOCNO123456asterick
asterick is the symbol with no space in between.
and change the whole string font to Code39

Generate bar codes in mail forms

I know how to insert Bar codes in smartforms, but I need to print the bar codes in Mail Forms, is that possible?

What I need to do is:
I have several mail forms treated as a standard response in ICWC. We are using the e-mail view (in ICWC) mainly to print the forms, via smartforms or in online mode without smartforms.
So, at the moment, I have two questions:
1) If I use a smartform to print the mail form, even if I create the form in plain text and create the bar code into mail form, when I print the number it is not converted in a bar code;
2) If I generate the bar code in a mail form and I try to print it in ICWC e-mail view the number is not printed as a bar code too;

Let me try to explain better.
1. I'm using the bar code in smartforms and I'm able to generate the bar code graphic. But I want to print the bar code graphic and the bar code number, so what I was asking is if there is some way to associate automatically the number with bar code graphic, instead of write the number again with a regular font format, because like this is very difficult to format properlly the graphic with the associated number.
2. What I want to do is, print daily several letters identified with a bar code, so it'll be nice if the system could generate a automatic sequence of number to convert in bar code graphics.
I hope you could understand my doubts.
