Printing bookmarks

What is procedure to print bookmark menu?
It is extremely difficult to find the post a message section to click. Why don't they just have a simple
post a message icon to click? Mac is much harder to figure out than Windows when trying to locate
items for a beginner. I looked for copy but no where does it inform you that it's print. Even the how
to books on Leopard make it difficult to look up a subject in the index unless you know the exact
terminology. They could put a simple cross reference page in the book listing the computer name for
the common name. Is there such a cheat sheet on the web?

I'm guessing that English is not your primary language, so I'm trying to understand what you mean, not what you say, but I'm not sure I understand your question at all. Was it only one question or many questions?
Could you re-ask your question? Start from the beginning. What program are you using? What are you trying to do? If you have more than one question, it is a good idea to start a new paragraph for each question so that the person trying to help you can sort it out.
Please leave out any comparisons to any other operating system, or how you did things on a different computer. They are worthless references and won't solve your problem.
While it has always been true that many help menu's and tutorials tend to speak in a technical way, the help you receive here can be adjusted to your computer skills, so please try again.

  • How to print bookmark into a PDF File?

    Hi community
    I have a PDF-File with a few pages and need to have on each page the bookmark printed as a text.
    I tried with Javascript, and can print the filename but not yet the bookmarks.
    I have following script:
    app.addMenuItem({cName:"Print Filename", cParent:"File", nPos:20, cExec:"PrtFN();"});
    //Print Filename to Pages
    function PrtFN()
      for (var p = 0; p < this.numPages; p++)
        var fd = this.addField("Print Bookmark", "text", p, [563,519,790,545]);
        fd.fillColor=color.white;
        fd.textSize=14;
        fd.textColor=color.red;
        fd.value = (this.documentFileName);
    Do someone of you know how to print the bookmarks, something like "fd.value = (this.documentBookmark);" ?
    Thanks for helpful answers!

    It is possible to get a bookmark name from the bookmark object but as noted a reverse lookup for a bookmark to a given page is not fool proof.
    You could write a script that walks the bookmark tree and then use execute to go to the page that book mark points too and then fill-in the bookmark name. This assumes all bookmarks perform the go to page/view action and do not run a script or open another PDF. You may also need to account for more than one bookmark pointing to a page.

  • Is there easy way to print bookmarks Acrobat Pro 9.5

    Is there an easy way to print the bookmarks of an Acrobat file using Acrobat Pro 9.5?
    Is there an easy way to expand all headings?
    Thank you

    Here is something you can try:
    With your file open, and assuming it has all the bookmarks setup:
    Simply export to HTML (File > Export > HTML > I picked HTML 3.2). That should create an HTML file.
    Open the new HTML file and the first thing you should see is a list of all the bookmarks!!!
    This worked for me (I have Adobe 9). Let me know if it works for you.
    P.S. After copying the list, I pasted in Word and changed the bullets to numbers by right clicking one of the bullets and selecting Numbering!

  • Moving bookmarks, printing bookmark outline

    I'd like to use my bookmark hiearchy as an outline.  Unfortunately, I cannot move the various subheadings around, or at least not entirely.  For example, I get that to nest one heading under another, you simply drag and drop it under the heading you wish it to nest around.  Great.  Works fine.  But I am unable to move one heading from a nest level up to the next level.  In other words, I can move it in (or under, if you prefer) but not out (or up).   The adobe professional help menu suggests you can do this with the arrow, but if so, I am unable to do so.  Dragging it "out" doesn't work.  Frankly, it would be easier if there were keyboard commands to do this.
    This leads to the second question.  To effectively use the bookmarking heiarchy as an outline, it would be very useful to be able to print it out, save it to other applications and the like.  As near as I can tell, this isn't possible.  Apparently, there is a print function that allows printing of the outline and the affected highlighted pages but not just the outline itself.  Is that correct?
    Any general help on the use of the bookmarks as an outline would be helpful, as well as any specific thoughts on the two issues described above.  Thanks.

    Moving bookmarks up should work just fine... But you will need to have the sub-tree you want to move them to already open.
    There are some scripts floating around for exporting the bookmarks structure in various formats. I had created one that can export it to PDF or plain-text TXT files, and also has the option to include the page numbers the bookmarks are pointing to, as well as indentation based on the hierarchy. Others have created similar tools.
    Which version of Acrobat are you using, by the way?
    PS - I totally agree that there should be keyboard shortcuts for moving bookmarks around...

  • I lost my toolbar and can't do a think such as print, bookmarks, etc.

    My tool bar/task bar disappeared and I can't print, do history, bookmarks, or anything.
    Please help me.
    Thank you so much.

    Hi Mary, could you start by checking whether Firefox is in its full screen mode? The F11 function key will switch between full screen and regular views.
    If that doesn't help, you can turn individual bars on and off using one of these methods:
    * right-click a blank area of the tab bar
    * right-click the "+" button on the tab bar
    * on the classic menu bar (tap Alt to display temporarily): View > Toolbars
    * "3-bar" menu button > Customize > Show/Hide Toolbars
    Can you get the missing bar(s) back?
    Some users report simply exiting out of Firefox and starting it up again can correct missing bar problems, so if other steps don't work, you might want to give that a try.

  • How do I get: File, Save, Edit, Print,Bookmark back on my bar?

    I think you get the picture

    It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu of a toolbar to have menus like the File menu with Print (Ctrl+P) and Print Preview and the Bookmarks menu available.
    In current Firefox releases (29 and later), that have have the Australis user interface, the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three-bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar and this button is always visible, whether you have the menu bar visible or hidden<br>A consequence of this location is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
    *There is a star like button next to the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu.<br>You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at the bottom of this drop-down list
    *If you bookmark a page then "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark"
    *You can make the title bar visible via the "Title Bar" button at the bottom left in the Customize palette window

  • URGENT: Adobe Acrobat 7.0:  Can "Bookmarks" be printed (in the left task pane)?

    Urgent Question
    In Adobe Acrobat 7.0, can Bookmarks or the list of the Bookmarks, in the left task pane, be printed in any way?   If not, is there some other way to print Bookmarks that is not too difficult to achieve - like a list or an Index of all the bookmarks or export the bookmark list on the left to a Word document or something?  "Help" in Adobe Acrobat 7.0 is no help with this issue.

    Hi,
    Download this PDF:
    http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/acrobat/BatchSequences.pdf
    It is Adobe's "Batch Sequences" documentation for Acrobat 7.
    Next; visit:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/?view=documentation
    Scroll to page bottom, right side -
    Download the PDF "Batch sequences". This is the Acrobat 8 documentation.
    There is no significant difference between Acrobat 7 & 8 documents.
    Just good to have 'em all while you can get 'em.
    Download "batchseq.zip"
    Unzip.
    It has same content as "batchseq.zip" for Acrobat 7.
    You want to use the "List all Bookmarks.sequ" sequence.
    *Read* what the documentation discusses for this or any of the other sequences.
    Some are "generic" and need a tweak.
    "List all Bookmarks.sequ", when properly configured/used, provides an output PDF that contains all Bookmarks of a "source" PDF.
    Works with Acrobat 5.x, 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x.
    Print to hardcopy from this PDF.
    Does not work properly in Acrobat 9.x
    There are work arounds for this.

  • Acrobat XI PRO: Create a Table of Contents (TOC) automatically in top, after I have combined several pdf.files into a single pdf.file

    Hey
    I have now tried for hours, but now I give up!
    MY WISH -
    Create a Table of Contents (TOC) automatically after I have combined several pdf.files into a single pdf.file.
    I have already bookmarks, shown on the screen (see screenshot below) but I want those bookmark to be visualised in a separate TOC in the top of the combined files.
    This new TOC (which I have inserted) shall be printable and serve as a cover page in a binder.
    I have seen other cheap pdf.programs in the market (e.g. PDF Converter Professional 7.3) which are able to make the above things, easy, fast and nice.

  • Table of contents in Reports 6i

    Hello, everyone.
    Does anyone know how to create table of contents in Oracle Reports 6i?
    My output looks like that:
    1.0 Introduction -- (printed on page 1)
    some data...
    1.1 Integration -- (printed on page 3)
    some data...
    1.1.1 Testing (printed on page 7)
    some data....
    All of course in indented according to number.
    Now, I need to created a table of contents that looks like that:
    1.0 Introduction ................................ 1
    1.1 Integration ............................. 3
    1.1.1 Testing ............................ 7
    with indent as well. I can build it manually in the header section, the only thing that I don't know is how to get a page number. I don't know at the runtime, which page it will be for a certain section. The report output is printed as pdf file. Maybe there is a way to send a command to print bookmarks instead?
    Please, help.

    Hi Lena,
    I think it's impossible. Let image following situatian: you send your report to printer... Could you change your first shit after that one had been prited? Unfortunately no. Maybe your should do your contents on the last pages?
    If you will do so, you will be able to place page's number in the table of contents.
    Sorry.

  • Acrobat XI misses last hyperlink in TOC

    Converting Word 2010 docs to PDF with Acrobat XI ...
    The last row of the TOC does NOT become a link to the page. When hovering the mouse over the last row, there is no hand symbol as appears over the other TOC entries.
    Happens every time I convert to PDF. I simply use the tool button in Word's Acrobat tool bar to convert to pdf.
    IS there a fix for this?

    Is there any link to dmenu examples or dmenu scripts.I recently installed awsome and dmenu but I don't know how to configure dmenu...

    I think I got it, I changed your script a bit so it prints all information on one line in 3 columns (directory / title / url). That way you can use dmenu to search for an entry and have firefox launch the URL.

  • Adobe 9 standard loses some functions after upgrading to ie 10 or 11.  is there a fix?

    After upgrading ie 9 to 10 or 11, adobe 9 standard loses some of it's functions most noticeable is printing.  Is there a fix for this?

    Generally when compatibility is considered (not OS aspect), it refers to the ability to use PDF Maker. Also, PDF Maker is only available on a PC, not a MAC. Generally, if Acrobat works on the OS, then printing to PDF is always an option. However, you lose bookmarks and such when you use that process. There are a few cases that are different and provide more functions. My word processor for instance does not have PDF Maker compatibility. However, the creator of the package added apparently PDF Marks in the file so that when used with the Adobe PDF printer, bookmarks based on styles are created.
    I also just noted that I got messed up in the mix of updates. I was thinking Acrobat updates, not IE. With the newer IE versions, you will only be able to print to the Adobe PDF printer, nothing more. Acrobat 9 is no longer being updated except for critical security issues. You might try the MS plugin for IE (if one is available -- sorry, but I am not an IE user) to convert from HTML or other IE display to PDF. I know MS has the converters for WORD, but not sure about other products. When you do not have PDF Maker available, as in your case, then the MS plugin may meet your needs.

  • Stanford CS193P iPhone Programming Course Assignment 1B

    I do not understand this assignment at all...*I'm not doing it for the class*, but I've downloaded all the materials from iTunes U and the course website. I was looking through it, and I have no idea what to do for assignment 1B.
    Assignment 1B
    Course website

    Here's a basic layout of what I think the skeleton of the program would look like:
    #import <Foundation/Foundation.h>
    void PrintPathInfo (); // function declaration for section 1
    void PrintProcessInfo (); // function declaration for section 2
    void PrintBookmarkInfo (); // function declaration for section 3
    void PrintIntrospectionInfo (); // function declaration for section 4
    int main (int argc, const char * argv[])
    NSAutoreleasepool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init];
    PrintPathInfo(); // function call for section 1
    PrintProcessInfo(); // function call for section 2
    PrintBookmarkInfo(); // function call for section 3
    PrintIntrospectionInfo(); // function call for section 4
    [pool release];
    return 0;
    void PrintPathInfo () // function definition for section 1
    // code for printing "path info"
    void PrintProcessInfo () // function definition for section 2
    // code for printing "process info"
    void PrintBookmarkInfo () // function definition for section 3
    // code for printing "bookmark info"
    void PrintIntrospectionInfo () // function definition for section 4
    // code for printing "introspection info"
    I don't know how to help you any further without actually doing the assignment myself, which I unfortunately don't have time for right now, but I may try in the future sometime, because it looks like I could benefit from it. But this skeleton code should give you an idea of what the basic program would look like, so all you really need to know now is what code to put in the four function definitions, so you just need to figure out how to print the "path info" and the "process info" and so forth. Go to page 4 on the assignment document you linked to and start with the section titled "Section 1: String as file system paths" and read through that to try to figure out what code you need to write in the first function definition (the one for PrintPathInfo()), and then do the same for the other three. That's where I would begin. If you don't understand what your being told in those sections of the assignment document, then maybe it is too advanced of an assignment and you might need to learn a little more about the language first (I'm not sure I know enough to complete it myself, but then again, I don't know much about Objective-C in the first place). But, anyways, that's what I would do if I were you. I'd copy the skeleton code above into your project (assuming you understand it) or write your own, and then start reading the assignment to figure out what goes inside the function definitions, because everything else (the function declarations and the main() function code) is already done. It's possible you may need to add arguments to some of the functions as you write them and/or change their return types, but it doesn't look like it. Anyways, hope there was something helpful here.

    If you want to use your laptop battery as long as possible, then use this guideline:
    1: First time usage, do not start the notebook right away, but charge the battery FULL before turning the machine on.
    2: Never ever drain the battery totally, best recharge before 10% is reached or when ever you can.
    3: Do not put the laptop in the Sun or use it at very HOT places, high temps reduce the lifetime greatly.
    4: Do NOT store your battery for longer periods of time, best recharge every few weeks or keep it recharged.
    I advise to keep it in the laptop, although some prefer doing AC without, however it must be kept charged always! (inserted does that).
    5: Do NOT pressure the battery to maximum current levels, Lithium-Ion do not handle that well, this means overclocking and gaming on batteries.
    No matter if it's called a gaming laptop, game on AC, at all times.
    If you want to read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_ion_battery
    Also this is a must read: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/lithium-ion-battery.htm
    I suggest you read it as these batteries can be killed quite easily if you use them the wrong way.
    If somebody tell you to drain it totally empty, then they don't know what they are talking about and you are well on your way to kill it.
    A well handled Lithium-Ion battery lasts minimal 3 years (but will die after time), no matter if you use it or not, but when misused it can be over in days.
