Printing causes internet to temporarily disconnect.

Printer: HP Laserjet 3600n
My printer is connected to my router via an Ethernet cable. Every time a computer it our network prints something on this printer, the internet is temporarily cut. The computers don't show that they are disconnected from the network, they just lose internet access. The temporary cut lasts about 5 seconds. The printer is using an IP address outside of my router's DHCP range. My router's DHCP range is 192.168.1.2 -> 192.168.1.99. I've assigned 192.168.1.101 for my printer. Any advice on how to fix my problem?

Make and model of router?  Verify it is on the latest firmware and then hard reset it back to factory defaults.  Reconfigure the router back to your settings now.

  • Can Printer Cause Whirring Fan?

Like many of you, I have had the whirring fan on my iMac. The other day, I disconnected my printer (HP psc 750) and I have noticed a dramatic reduction in the whirring noise while surfing the internet. Could the printer the problem or at least a part of it? What is a good printer for use with the iMac that won't cause this isse?

Ok, my iMac G5 did have something similar to a "Whirring Fan" back when it was running 10.4.5, but right after I installed the 10.4.6 update, it seemed to be much better. I think that the printer honestly has nothing to do with the fans, but I could be wrong. What made you conclude that it was the printer causing the "Whirring Fan" other than when you unplugged it? (If you disconnected it and it was fine, then reconnected it and it was not, then it is the printer causing it to happen) Also, if you installed the 10.4.6 update and then disconnected the HP printer, then it was the update that fixed it.

  • Officejet 4500 will not print from internet.

Printer will only print e-mails, will not print anything from internet.  "Unspecified error, Line 2107, Char1, Code0 res://ieframe.dll/preview.js" appears when ever I try to print from internet.

The issue is caused when Windows creates the printer profile in the control panel that it doesn't correctly create it with the drivers.
We're not going to completely uninstall all the HP software, instead we're going to remove the corrupt Windows printer profile and reinstall it.  Total time for this on an average computer is about 5-10 minutes to completely repair (including reboot).
    1) Navigate to Start Menu > Devices and Printers or Start Menu > Control Panel > Printers
    2) Select each printer profile for the printer with an issue, then select remove device/printer.
    3) Reboot
    4) Navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > HP > insert model # here > Add Printer (or Setup Wizard)
    5) Follow the setup prompts to reinstall the printer profile and it recreates the Windows printer.
    6) Test by printing google.com (uses very little ink when the test page comes out).
Let me know if you have any questions or issues.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • Cant WiFi connect HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer to internet

I cant WiFi connect HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer to internet... at least I think that is the problem. I have followed all the instructions on HP Print and Scan Doctor as well as Troubleshoot HP Installation Failure. My router is running fine for everything else and I have entered the static address for the printer into the router.  It appears that my printer believes it is connected to my WiFi (Ihave WPS it multiple times), but when I type it's IP address into my IE nothing shows up. My router doesn't appear to see the printer either. I have the latest driver installed on my computer. I suspect this may be a router issue: new router Asus Double 450 Mbps  N Router (Dual band - but it appears my router is using the 2.4Hz band to communicate with WPS). Windows 7 64.
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello NRHII,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to connect the Officejet 8600 over a wireless connection. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend power cycling the router, printer and computer:
    1) Turn off your printer
    2) Disconnect the power cord from the back of the router
    3) Restart your computer
    4) Wait less than 60 seconds, plug the power cord back into the router
    5) Turn your printer back on, wait for the computer to turn on
Is the wireless light blinking on your printer? If so, please reconnect the wireless on your printer by using the wireless setup wizard: (This information is stated here.)
On the printer touch screen, touch the Right Arrow ( ) to display the second navigation screen.
Touch the Setup icon ( ).
Touch Network , touch Wireless Setup Wizard , and then touch Continue . The printer searches for available networks.
Touch the name of your network, and then touch OK .
If prompted, enter the network password, and then touch OK . The printer connects to the network.
Also, as I was typing this post TreeFrog posted some great information to follow.
Have you followed this entire HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection? If not, follow this document. Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Opening a PDF causes internet explorer to stop working!!

I'm having the same problem, except I'm on a HP Pavilion 6835. Since downloading 8.1.2 I can't open pdf files. Or the program itself from my desktop. Someone please help! I've posted about this subject on other discussions and no help is coming. How do we get a previous version or will this be fixed???
Janice, I uninstalled mine since I can't do anything with it anyways.
I wish the techs at this company would help us.

  • A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer (IE9) to close and reopen the tab

I have IE9 (using 32-bit version) installed on a relatively new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. Up until last weekend IE9 worked fine and Flash Player worked fine too.
At the weekend a webpage asked for Flash Player to be updated - which I did. Ever since then whenever I go to a webpage needing Flash Player I get the message "A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab". This happens twice and then an IE9 error page.
I have read the discussions in here about the problems with Flash Player 10.3 and have tried the various solutions. I have updated to 10.3.181.16 having tried 15 and 14 previously. Same problem.
I have reset IE9. Same problem.
I have disabled all add-ons which stops the problem. If I enable just the Flash Player add-on then the problem recurs. Since there are so many webpages that use Flash I do not want to run my browser without this add-on running.
If I enable the add-on and run IE9 using software rendering instead of GPU rendering then I don't get the problem. However, this isn't exactly making the best use of the resources on my laptop.
This may well all be related to the 10.3 problems but no one seems to have mentioned having a problem with tabs closing and reopening so I thought I would post on here to check.
Any suggestions for how to solve this (other than using software rendering)?

Thanks again for your reply. I appreciate the time you have taken to respond.
I think, however, you misunderstand the problem. IE9 does not reopen the tabs on just one website - it is doing this on every website that needs Flash Player. Therefore, running in Compatibility mode is not an option. In fact, because IE9 reopens the tabs so quickly and then ends up with an error page, I cannot even click the Compatibility button anyway.
I could use ActiveX filtering - true. All that this means is that Flash does not play on any of the websites. When I want to re-enable ActiveX for a particular website where I need to see the Flash Player item, this just triggers the error.
This problem also happened on .14, .15 and well as the current .16 version. It did not happen with the previous version of Flash Player that I had on the system (version 10.2 I think).
The fact is that either Flash Player or IE9 or both is/are broken. The two choices I am still left with are:
    1. Use software rendering (which contradicts the latest advertisements for IE9 about unleashing the power of IE)
    2. Use another browser - I have no problems with either Firefox or Chrome

This is the answer that fixes the problem every time, based on my experience and that of others. It works for both the 32 & 64-bit versions of Windows (I'm one of those odd ducks who runs 32-bit Windows 8.1 Professional and it worked perfectly for me).
The problem is not Windows, either 7 or 8, it's Office 2013 and a variety of unique HP LaserJet printers.  By the way, the glitch occurs whether you use networked printing or a USB cable; I discovered that early-on when I
was trying to troubleshoot the issue.  Also (and it should go without saying), always reboot the computer after you make the change to the driver.  Thanks to Shane, who apparently was the first one to discover the solution over a year ago, right
after Office 2013 came out and the problem manifested itself.
After lots of testing I have found a setting that has fixed all my HP CP5520 and HP M4555 printers that were crashing when printing from Office 365's 2013 pro plus.
It's the driver setting in Device settings -> Installable options -> Printer Status notification, this needs to be disabled.
I hope this also fixes other peoples problems.

  • PDF's won't print in Internet Explorer after upgrading to Adobe Reader 11.0.03

PDF's won't print in Internet Explorer 9 after upgrading to Adobe Reader 11.0.03.
The print dialogue box won't open....nothing happens.

Two obvious troubleshooting techniques are to delete and re-install the printer driver (or updating printer driver) and fixing the installation of Acrobat. Have you given those a try?

  • Printing causes macpro to crash/restart

    printing causes macpro to crash/restart

OK, I understand borderless printing is not supported on plain paper, but I don't think a hard crash is an acceptable result.
I can live with the minimize margins turned on but that opens up another documented bug where the last line to line and a half are not printed on the last sheet in a print set, If you are only printing one sheet at a time than every sheet will be missing this print. Has HP come up with or even looked into why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Don

  • Solaris 8 installed-no printer or internet access??

I have installed Solaris 8 OS on intel architecture and finally it works---except for printer and internet access. I found the add printer window but don't know what port it's on??? How do I get printer to work(canon bjc2100)Also have installed network card since S8 OS installation but can't access internet----how please???
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

The parallel port should be something like <tt>/dev/lp1</tt> (old
    device name), or
<tt>/dev/printers/0</tt> (newer device name, I think this appeared
when solaris 8 started to support USB printers). Do you see such
    devices on your system?
If these devices do not exist:
Interrupt the boot process with ESC to enter the "Device
configuration assistant" (DCA), do you see the parallel port listed in the hardware list on the second screen?
If the parallel port hardware is listed in the DCA, continue booting,
and boot with the kernel with the "-r" flag. The "-r" performs a
"reconfiguration boot" and the /dev/lp* or /dev/printers/* devices
    should be created.
If the printer port is listed in the DCA hardware list,
and the reconfiguration boot did <b>not</b> create the unix
printer devices, and the command <tt>prtconf -Dv | grep lp</tt>
does not print <tt>lp (driver name: lp)</tt>, you may be running
into the solaris 8 ACPI bug (bug id 4344312). This bug results in
non-working on board hardware when using certain combinations of
main boards and bios versions; often seen on boards using VIA
south bridge chipsets. In that case have a look at http://www.tools.de/solaris/via/ for a possible solution.
