Printing CD case inserts

Recently when using iTunes to print a CD case insert the album artwork just comes out as a black square on both sides. I have used this OK previously (before recent iTunes updates).

you are not the only person having this problem. Several people including myself have all posted in the past couple of days re this problem but so far no one has come up with any solutions. The one common factor to us all is that this started happening after downloading the latest software. Methinks therin lies the answer but what we do about it I have absolutely no idea. Hopefully there is some very clever person out there who will know. Until then I guess we just wait.

Itunes problem.  Printing jewel case insert no longer works since installing Itunes 11.0.2... Song listings are jumbled.  HELP

Abandon all hope yee who enter this thread. Abandon hope for mozilla fixing the issue that is. I went with a jQuery based bmp generator. It's pretty easy to implement and has worked well for me.
    download: http://code.google.com/p/jquery-barcode/downloads/detail?name=jquery.barcode.0.3.js&can=2&q=
    demo : http://jquery-barcode.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/jquery-barcode/demo/demo.html
    Implementation:
Put these includes in your header:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.2.6/jquery.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.barcode.0.3.js"></script>
Everything that needs to be a barcode should have the same class. I chose "barcode39".
    <span class="barcode39">405479</span>
    <span class="barcode39">405339</span>
    <span class="barcode39">405341</span>
Then run this script at the bottom:
    <script>
    $('.barcode39') .barcode({code:'code39'});
    </script>

  • Can't print jewel case insert

Jewel case insert won't print correctly since latest I-Tunes upgrade installed.

I am also having problems.  I printed a Jewel case insert about a month ago without any problems.  Today I have tried every option available without success.  The picture prints correctly but the playlist does not.  The preview shows the correct insert but when it prints, all the song titles are printed on top of each other.  I am using Windows 7 & the most recent iTunes version.
I don't like the new iTunes.  Having to create a playlist everytime you want to burn a CD is annoying.  Used to be able to just click on the album, burn and print jewel case insert.  I have been thinking about uninstalling iTunes and rolling back to a previous version but am afraid it will not work.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
    NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

  • Trouble with Print Jewel Case Inserts

When I print a jewel case insert, the song list line spacing is not correct.  The second line partially prints over the first and the third line partly over the second.  This happens on all printed lines of the song list.
I have read that other users are experiencing this problem.  In fact, it was a known problem in the past and was resolved but the current version of iTunes includes this bug again.  It appears that software releases are not thoroughly tested before releasing to the public.  Shouldn't there be alpha and beta testing that would catch obvious bugs?
    Frustrated...

That's exactly what's happening with me as well. Evidently a recent iTunes update caused the problem, which is with version 11.0.2.26. Since I asked my question I found a thread on the same topic that is six pages and started last December. Apparently Apple became aware of the problem initially, sent an update that fixed it, then updated again recently without the fix. Maybe they'll get around to fixing it again soon. Check out this thread. One guy posted a picture of exactly what we're talking about:

  • Printing Jewel Case Inserts

I uploaded the latest version of iTunes the other day and all of a sudden I couldn't print a jewel case insert. The title side printed fine but the song titles printed over each other. What is wrong ?

Pleased to hear it was just what you wanted, not so pleased it has caused you so many problems.
Another way of doing it would be to open the CDLabel templates but not in Word. They will just open if you click them from the folder. Then measure up whatever it is you want, then create your own using Word Tables. It is basically just a rectangle with a skinny rectangle on each side. You could even do it by just taking the measurements from your jewel case.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • How can I print a greater number of songs on a cd jewel case insert.

How can I get around the number of songs limit when printing a CD jewel case insert? I have a set list of 50 songs but iTunes will only print about 25. There doesn't seem to be any way to reduce the font size.

    1) Use a List, with a custom itemRenderer
    2) Use a Repeater (Probably easiest)
    3) use Actionscript to addChild() components.

hi-i need help- when i try to print a cd jewel case insert(i did this many times)the songs side will print out on top of each other like one big glob-and the other half the photo of album comes out correct-i thought it was my old printer so of course got a new one-still does the same crap-help me

I believe that insufficient RAM may be the source of some of your problems. If you have a RAM of somewhere 4 to 8GB, you will experience smoother computing. 3GB doesn't seem right, so you might want to learn more by going to this site:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/drammemory.aspx
I don't know what know what's happening with your optical drive, but it seems you use your drive quite a bit. In that case, look into a lens cleaner for your machine. It's inexpensive, works quite well.
I hope you'll post here with your results!

  • Jewel case inserts are not printing full size

    Hi all,
This might be a more appropriate topic to one of the general forums, but I thought I'd try here first...
I have a color printer (Lexmark z23) hooked up to an old PC, and wanted to print out a color copy of a jewel case insert. (I only have a b/w laser printer hooked up to the Mac.) So I used the print command in iTunes but saved it to PDF instead of printing. I then emailed the file to myself to get it to the PC... but when I printed the PDF, the jewel case insert was "shrunk" slightly. It's not the right size for a jewel case anymore. I even tried "printing" (to PDF) on the Mac at 105%, but then it gets cut off at the edge of the page.
Is this a printer problem or an iTunes problem? Or a problem caused by the backasswards way I have to print the things? I really don't want to have to buy another program just to print darn jewel case inserts. I don't need anything fancy, and the iTunes printing options would suit my needs just fine.
    Any help much appreciated!
    Erin

Yes, Apple have done it YET AGAIN. Stuffed up the printing like they did in 11.0 and recified in 11.1. It is the coding error they had before, and fixed but now must have put the old coding back. Great customer service yet again (NOT!) - clearly programmed by a genius???!!

  • Can't print a CD jewel case insert!!

I have been trying for a long time to get a answer about itunes not being able to print a CD jewel case insert. I have spoken to many tech. support people. Some I have their names and call back numbers, which shows how much they been trying to help me. But they can't really do anything because the problem is itunes update 11.2.
I wish I would have never upated to itunes 11.2, but hind sight is 20/20 isn't it. Why would you make a CD and not be able to not know the songs that are on it. Please engineering get with it and make a new update to this "LOUSY ITUNES 11.2". I know that alot of other people are having the same problem, some have mentioned it to you. Why others sit back and do nothing; I don't know? But I have read of some other problems with the same update. I guess all we can do is wait. What a pain in the -------!!!

    Shirley, and Gupilu:
I am having a similar problem. When I try to print the jewel cases the way I did up to a month ago, the print option does not highlight! I think it is Apple letting us know once again that CDs are a thing of the past. Many of their products do not have DVD/CD players, and some do not even have USB spots.

  • Cannot print cd jewel case insert

I have two Epson printers connected to my Windows 7 (64-bit) run Dell computer (XPS 8100).  The printers I am using are the Workforce 845 and the Xpression XP-620 (which allows me to print right onto a special CD).  This is a new development that occurred since I upgraded to iTunes 12.1.1.4.
I am trying to print a CD jewel case insert for any playlist and as soon as I click on OK -- after I have set up all the desired options (for example, Print High Quality on Glossy Premium Photo Paper) the application freezes.  I hear a beep and then nothing happens.  I can't even close down iTunes without the help of the Task Manager to end the program.  Or I have to stop the iTunes process.
The only way I can print the jewel case insert is to print to Microsoft XPS Document Writer and then print it out from there:  it prints out the cd jewel case insert, including the guide marks for cutting out the insert.
I don't know if this is an iTunes/Apple issue or an Epson issue. Epson claims it's an Apple issue.
Has anyone else experienced this issue perhaps with other printers?
By the way, it seems now than I can print nothing at all, not even a list of the songs in a playlist.

I'm having the same issue - when I try to change any print options iTunes freezes and I have to end the process in Task Manager... I was trying to turn off duplex printing and the printer option screen wouldn't take any input. I changed the default printer properties to turn off duplex; iTunes did not reflect the updated preferences. It looks like there is an unknown issue with the printer setup module - guess that doesn't get much use anymore or Q/A should have picked up the issue...

  • Printing CD jewel case inserts problem

In iTunes I am unable to print a CD jewel case insert from the print menu.  Every theme prints out "blurred" except the Large Playlist (black & white) theme.  Has anyone else had this problem?  I have wasted so much ink trying to get my favorite theme to print which is "Text Only (black & white)".  This text theme is large and the song "times" are also printed on one sheet.  Has this problem been fixed by iTunes yet?  I have downloaded the current iTunes Version 11 and I have Windows Vista OS.  Thanks for replying.  Oldiesmusiclover.

  • Problem printing cd jewel case inserts

Problem printing cd jewel case inserts. Album art prints as a black box instead of in color as it should. Any suggestions?

Hi Mike .. tons of we iTunes users experiencing identical problem. I'm convinced there is a BUG within all of the Version 10 releases. I found an old 9.0 version on the internet .. downloaded it and VOILA .. the Jewel Case inserts printed out to  PERFECTION. Decided try one of the 10.0 versions again .. and the BLACK box minus album covers reappeared. If you're planning to try an older version .. make sure to SAVE the library and playlists on your drive in another folder (not in the iTunes directory). Name that folder something you will remember (i.e. Testing iTunes, etc.). There is a way to "recall those files" to the old version 9.0. Should you decide to go this route .. let me know if I can further assist. Good luck .. Helen

Overprinting occurs when printing a playlist in CD Jewel Case Insert format. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
