Printing CD & DVD labels

Hi. Does anyone know how to print CD/DVD labels in Leopard? I Have Avery inkjet CD labels and I am hoping that I can print using Pages '08 or something. Avery's advertised software on the back of the package is not mac compatible. Do I need any type of software or is it built into the operating system. I have a Canon ip4000 printer.
Thanks

Hello, I have a Canon ip4300 and it comes with CD-LabelPrint. You can download this software directly from Canon at no cost.
Seems to me it's compatible with all Pixma CD-printing-capable models.
I don't recall of any CD-printing utility built into Leopard.

Hi there Jim, aka @jknud , welcome to the forums
I understand you're looking to print CD/DVD labels to your Officejet 6500 Wireless, from your Mac.
There are normally third party software programs you can download to print out whichever brand of labels you are trying to print on. If you wish to let me know which type of labels you are using, I will see if I can find their support forums for you.

  • How to print a DVD label

Is there an app nternal to the wireless officejet that helps print DVD labels?

Try File>Export>Using QuickTime Conversion. An export window appears.
In Format: select the Still Image option.
You can select Options.. if you wish to change the file type from the default PNG.
You can control the destination folder as required. Use the centre part of the export window to navigate to the selected folder.

  • How to design a dvd label in illustrator and export as interactive

    hello!
I need to design a dvd label for a client and they want to be able to make edits to it after I design it.  Is there a way I can design it in illustrator.. save as an interactive pdf and then they can edit it with acrobat? I know with acrobat you can make edits to type but can you make edits to colors, photos, etc? And if you can't does anyone know of another application that they would be able to use without having adobe? let me know thanks!

You can't replace content in Acrobat. You only can use the touchup tools to adjust text and make minor corrections on images like cropping or assigning a different color profile. and of course you can use form elements to provide dynamic text. If you need to provide more than that, you better look into otehr solutions which could be as trivail as the software they use to actualyl print the DVD labels (canon Easy Label Print and similar) or a generic, free tool like Open Office Draw, Inkscape or Scribus...

  • How to make template for avery dvd labels?

Can one make a template to print avery dvd labels?

You have all your versions wrong.
The current Mac OSX is now v10.9.2.
We have no idea what version of Pages you are talking about or what is happening when you try to open them. Possibly you have Pages '08 files which Pages 5 will not open.
Any older version of Pages should however still be in your Applications/iWork folder.

  • Under My Image Garden, laptop recognizes the printer can do dvd labels but the desktop does not.

Why won't My Image Garden recognize that I can do DVD labels? All it will let me do is make calendars. Under the new menu, all the other choices are turned off. My old canon printer had no trouble. The new one is an MG5430 (in the US MG5420 or 22). Thank you.

Actually, my husband was able to find the drive so the problem is solved!

  • Epson RX 700 DVD label printing - "driver dealing with CD printing is not..

Thank goodness I still have my PowerBook with Tiger 10.4.11 on it so I can print DVD labels. But I would like to be able to do this with my intel iMac with Leopard on it.
When I try to print DVD labels on my iMac with Leopard 10.5.3 using the horrible Epson Print CD software I am getting, "EPSON printer driver dealing with CD printing is not installed."
I searched on this message board and others have gone to the Russian website and downloaded the newer print driver which isn't available on the American website. I found driver 3.09, download it, and installed it. It shows up in English and everything LOOKs good.
Then I try to print from the EPSON CD Print software and it gives me this error.
Note that I also bought Roxio's Toast 9 Titanium with Disc Cover RE and try to print from that it and the print job gets all the way to the printer queue which tells me, "CD/DVD guide open". Well DUH, I'm trying to print the CD/DVD so I want it open, stupid printer.
Or I'm just being stupid. Help. Did I forgot to stand on my head, rub my stomach, pat my feet, and chant something before/after installing the new printer driver which is supposed to work?

I've done all that (exactly as it is suggested from the Epson support site) and I still get the same error. I called their tech support and they admitted that there is no real fix... only a workaround by doing a manual print. I had already figured that out, but all the instruction on their support site is useless.
My older machines work fine, but our new iMacs running Leopard will not print with Print CD.

  • Switcher has question about DVD Label Printing

I recently switched from Windows to Mac Mini. I really have enjoyed the Mac experience. One thing I haven't found though is a way to print DVD labels via a Mac application or via Mac Office. Is there a way or must I get a third party app?

I use Discus. It is cheap (about $40), downloadable, and support just about every label printer and paper label available.
    See it here:
    http://www.magicmouse.com/hdiscusdetail.html
I advise against using paper labels on DVDs. Many have done it successfully, but there are enough horror stories, including destroyed DVD players (label comes loose, gums up the inside) to concern me. I've used the EZ CD Printer (an Epson C60 conversion), and the Epson R300, as well as the CD.DVD duplicator I use now, the Primera Bravo which works perfectly. I've made about 300 DVDs with that.

  • Good Software for DVD Labels?

I had to replace my hard drive and therefore lost 3rd party apps I had installed. Now that I have the chance, can someone recommend a good DVD Label software? I used expressit before, and it seemed very basic and quirky. It seems to be the only thing obvious and available in stores like Staples, etc. Any other ideas? Anything I can download for free online?

The reported damage is both from the adhesive melting and the imbalance when the label is not placed correctly. Some people have had DVD disks getting stuck inside players because the adhesive loosened. Others complain of stuttering and playback problems....problems that do not show up if the same project is burned to a DVD disk without a stick-on label.
If anyone has used the stick-ons and is not having problems, all I can say is wait....sometimes the poor playback will not be apparent for some time, and then it starts ruining your disk.
I don't use any stick-ons. I think the very first DVD I made, using the first versions of iMovie and iDVD, did have a stick-on label, and the disks were ok after about 5 years. However, I reburned to Verbatim's archival gold disks, and wrote carefully on the disk with a CD/DVD marker. (I don't have a printer that can print to disks).

  • What software do I use to make cd/dvd labels?

I enjoyed using iDVD to put together a slideshow for an 80th birthday party.  Now I want to share the slideshow on dvd's, but what software should I use to make dvd labels and jewel case covers?

I agree 100% with Klaus1. You don't want to use stick on labels. If you have an Epson R series printer you can print directly to discs with it.
For printing on discs or making case inserts/covers one application that I like is Discus.  Here are some of the designs I've created and used with it:

  • What is the best way to print a CD Label

I am not a web-designer or work in advertising. But I do have lots of DVDs and CDs I've created (most of them are videos & photos of my daughter) and currently I am only labeling them with a marker.
I really want to have a nice looking (somewhat professional look) of CD Label. I purchased those CD Labeling Kit, but I want to "customize" my label, not using one of the free template that they've given. I do have several of CD Labels made and they turned out ok (I use Photoshop CS). But everytime I print a CD Label, it always take me 3 to 4 times to get it right. This really has wasted me ink. What I meant to "get it right" is the print is printed exactly or a little bit more than the "circular" part on the sticker. Also, some time what looks good on the screen, it came out fuzzy on the printout (eventhough I printed it on 300 dpi).
Anyway, what's the secret to print a customize CD Label, and got it printed exactly on the circular part of the label/sticker? Is it wort it to get one of those printer that can print the label straight onto the CD? I heard that in the long run, having the sticker is not good.
    Any suggestions is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    amanda

    amanda:
I use Discus 3.6 which is a label program which is packaged with Toast.
You do have to have a tempate holder to stick the label on the CVD.
There is no question that printing on the disk is the best solution especially with DVDs as they spin much faster than CDs.
I have had some issues with other people reading the DVDs and that may be attributed to that missalignment or the burning speed.
In Toast there is a method of burning slection. Be careful as there are CD speeds and DVD speed slelectons. Use the right one.

  • How can I create DVD Label using Photoshop Elements 10?

How can I create DVD label using Photoshop Elements 10?
    Richard

You can create the design for a DVD label in Create>More Options. Once you have the label set up, you would copy it to a template for the labels you plan to use. (The PSE template makes one label, while most printed labels are two-up.)

  • PS or IL for CD/DVD labels

Hello, I'm new tp printing and I've just used the print cd software that came with my printer. Which one of the programs is better for designing cd/dvd labels? I want to print directly on the disc. Do any of these apps come with a template or would I have to make my own? If I have to make my own can someone give me a quick overview? How does the measuring work? I would like to print on the whole disc, I think it's called "hub-printing."
    thx

You will need to make your own templates. For help in using either program, please post in the individual forums.

  • PSE7 and CD/DVD Labels

I upgraded from PSE5 a while back and appear to have lost some of my printing functionality.
In PSE5, selected the photo (in this case a project - a CD/DVD label created in PSE5) I wanted to print, and then was able to select "Labels" in the "Select Type of Print" in the Print Photos screen.  I'd select the template to print, select "print multiple photos" (of the same thing) and I could then print two labels on one page - matching the label paper I've purchased.
In PSE7, "Labels" is no longer in the "Select Type Of Print" pulldown.  If I try and print the same project, it wants to place it in the middle of the page.  If I select "Print Multiple Photo's" it places two of them on the page, but not centered correctly.  Very Frustrating!
Anyone have ideas on how I get "Labels" in the "Select Type Of Print" pulldown in PSE7?  Help!
    Thank You!

The labels option is no longer present in PSE7. I think this feature has been removed from PSE7.
