Printing comments in a summary with as less pages as possible

hello,
I have made sticky notes on a big pdf document. Now I want to  print all my comments on a summary document. But in the summary document he takes 1 page per comment to print.
so: if you have made 60 comments, you will have a printed document of 60 pages, with 1 or 2 lines of text.... : total loss of paper.
Does someone have a solution for this ???
Dirk

Yeah, this should be a very, very simple thing (even the most embarrassingly rudimentary photo programs do it as a basic function), but alas, it isn't.  I use LR3 to process about 200-300 images a week.  But if my wife wants a simple 4x6 print of a picture, I have to use Windows Picture Viewer.  I went through two packages of 8x10 paper when I bought the program trying to accomplish this laughably basic task (maybe we don't always WANT to physically crop/mat the photos we print, Adobe); I nearly threw my printerS (yeah, I tried with two of them) out the window.  Your description of the problem--the over cropping, the arbitrarily asymmetrical borders--are dead on.  Great program, but god, is that a pain in the ***.

  • How can I print comments in the right margin with Ver X?

    First time with this discussion area.  I'm attempting to print messages in the right margin of the page on which they appear.  This was possible in Ver IX.

    I checked my copy of Acrobat 9, and the only way I could find to print comments on the right side of the page was one of the four versions of comment summary.
    You can do the same thing in Acrobat X. On the Comments panel, select the Options menu (circled) and choose Create Comment Summary.
    Then select the 2nd option in the Create Comment Summary dialog:

  • Printing comments summary on a single page

    Is it possible to print comments summaries for a document on a single page rather than on seperate pages?  Even when there is only one comment per page, I cannot find a way to print all the comments on a single page.  Printing "comments only" still puts them on seperate pages.  It does print multiple comments on a page onto one page, but what if I want all the comments for a document onto one page.  All suggestions welcome.

    In the Print dialog, bottom left is a block Summarize Comments as below. Click that and adjust as needed

  • How can I show only text edits and not text formatting when using print comments summary?

    Acrobat 9.3.0 for Mac.
    Here is the scenario: I used the Compare command to see the changes between 2 PDFs. The resulting file some edits are inserts and some are deletions. I want to print a comments summary only showing the text edits. In the Compare Option pane, I select Text and deselect Images, Annotations, Formatting, Headers/Footers, and Backgrounds. Now on the screen I see inserts are highlighted in blue and deletions are marked with sort of a caret and vertical bar symbol. So all looks good at this point. However, when I show the Comments List, I see addtional comments that indicate "Replace - The following text attributes were changed: fill color." Those comments do not appear in the page view unless I check the Formatting check box to show them. With Formatting unchecked, I print a comments summary and all of the "Replace - Fill Color" comments" appear on the resulting comments summary.
    I only want to show text edits, not text formatting changes. So questions are:
    1. Why, when the Formatting checkbox is unchecked, do the text formatting comments still appear in the comments list when they do not appear on the page display.
    2. How can I print only the text content edits and not show the text formatting changes when using Print Comments Summary.

    Hi,
    You can set ExecuteWithParams as default activity in the task flow then method activity to return total no of rows passing to Router activity if your method has value 0 then call Create insert operation else do directly to page.
    Following idea could be your task flow
    Execute With param (default) > SetCurrentRowWithKey > GetTotalNoOfRows (VOImpl Method)
    |
    v
    Router
    1. If pageFlowScope outcome is 0 then call CreateInsert > MyPage
    2. if pageFlowScope outcome > 0 then MyPage
    hope it helps,

  • Problem printing comments summary in continuous list

    I have made a bunch of underline comments through a large pdf in the hopes of printing just the comments and having essentially a shorter, more succinct version of the large file. When I go to print the comment summary (comments only) I end up with the comments from each page still printed on separate pages, which defeats the purpose of me trying to get a shorter document. I'd like just one, continous list of all the comments on as few pages as possible. I found some other forums (which are read-only now) that suggested using the following JavaScript to get a continuous comments summary:
    // Get the comments in this document, and sort by author
    this.syncAnnotScan();
    annots = this.getAnnots({nSortBy: ANSB_Author});
    // Open a new report
    var rep = new Report();
    rep.size = 1.2;
    rep.color = color.blue;
    if (annots) {
    rep.writeText("Summary of Comments: By Author");
    rep.color = color.black;
    rep.writeText(" ");
    rep.writeText("Number of Comments: " + annots.length);
    rep.writeText(" ");
    var msg = "\200 page %s: \"%s\"";
    var theAuthor = annots[0].author;
    rep.writeText(theAuthor);
    rep.indent(20);
    for (var i=0; i < annots.length; i++) {
    if (theAuthor != annots[i].author) {
    theAuthor = annots[i].author;
    rep.writeText(" ");
    rep.outdent(20);
    rep.writeText(theAuthor);
    rep.indent(20);
    rep.writeText(
    util.printf(msg, 1 + annots[i].page, annots[i].contents));
    } else {
    var msg = "No annotations found in this document, %s.";
    rep.writeText(util.printf(msg, this.documentFileName));
    // Now open the report
    var docRep = rep.open("myreport.pdf");
    docRep.info.Title = "End of the month report: August 2006";
    docRep.info.Subject = "Summary of comments at the August meeting";
    I think this could be a great solution, but I'm having a problem with it: it's only printing the comments for the first half of my document. At the very end of the last page it prints, some of the comments overlap, some are skipped altogether, and then it stops going any further through the comments. I tried reading through the code to see if there was some sort of max number of comments defined or anything like that, but wasn't able to debug it. Does anyone know why the code isn't printing all the comments? I'm using Acrobat 9.5.0 Pro on Windows.
    Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi,
    After you have run the code can you look at the Console to see if there is any error there?
    You may have to enable settings to have the console so on exceptions - "Edit->Preferences->JavaScript" (Acrobat->Preferences->JavaScript on MAC) under the JavaScript Debugger heading.
    Check the following
    "Enable JavaScript debugger after Acrobat is restarted"
    "Show console on errors and messages"
    Then if you rerun the code if there is an error in the script the console should show and tell you what the error was.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 Print Comment Summary Issues

    I have acrobat pro 9 and am not able to print a comments summary.  When I click "Print Comment Summary" I am not redirected to the "Print" window as tutorials explain should happen.  The "Summarize Options" window just closes and nothing else happens.  Is there something I can change to make this work.  Thanks for your help!

    Sorry about that the subversion is 9.4.0 and I am running xp.  It is adobe acrobat pro, should I move this question to a different forum?

  • Print comments with Acrobat Pro

    I want to print comments using Acrobat Pro on one shhet rather than sequenced on seperate pages.  How can I do this?

  • Printing comments in margin

    Don't laugh; I'm going to make reference to an ehow article http://www.ehow.com/how_6801865_print-pdf-comment.html:
    "...users can print the sticky note comments in an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file either in an expanded margin alongside the main document, or they can print all the comments on a separate page. Printing in expanded margins, called "Printing in Place," allows viewers to see the comment next to the corresponding location ..."
    I'm trying to print out some annotated PDFs with the comments on the right margin. My takeaway from some of the older posts was to check "Print notes and popups" under preferences.
    While that is a step forward, I still cannot figure out how to have the comments on a right margin. Something like how Word down scales the document to have a bigger margin at the right for comments would be ideal.
    Right now, my comment boxes appear on top of the text, covering it up on the printout. I suspect that Acrobat currently has no feature to print the comment at the margin; though I'm hoping someone might have seen some kind of a plugin/ workaround before that I couldn't find.
    I guess if I have to make do, it'll be to make the box less opaque.
    I'm aware that there's a "Print with comment summary/ create content summary" feature (cf http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS75E00763-F15A-43a1-85B7-51B920B1181A.w.htm l). However, this is how it looks like in a printout even in landscape:
    It does not seem to allow a user to adjust the margin size of 50%.

    Did you upgrade to iphoto 6.0? I'm about to do the same and would like to know specifically if iphoto 6.0 will have full bleed pages with no text but also have (IN THE SAME BOOK) pages WITH text and pictures. It seems you have either every page with text and photo or NO pages with text.
    Any info would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks!

  • How do you print comments on one page

    I can't figure out how to get comments to print continuosly rather than one comment per page. I have a 30 page PDF with comments on each page. I don't want to print out 30 pages. I just want them to print on x pages as if it were a word doc. Most comments are short. Printing one minor edit per page is driving me nuts.

    Here's a link to a forum discussionthat includes a script: http://acrobatusers.com/content/how-do-i-print-comments-summary-all-one-page-0

  • How to properly print comments in a PDF Booklet

    I am printing a PDF booklet. I am printing on 11 X17, and I am trying to print the comments on a separate page with lines. I can select this, and then press Summarize Comments. But here is where my problem lies. How do I not print comments from the first page, or how can I make sure the comments are all on the left side when I open each page in my booklet. Right now, each page of comments is on the backside of the page it is referring to. I'm assuming the issue is because clearly the cover page doesn't have a left side, so it is forced to do the following page, and so on and so forth. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    Hi Nousmedis,
    I would recommend you to try again, here are the steps :
    Open the document saved on the cloud on your mac
    Make the desired comments
    Click on 'Save to adobe Document Cloud'
    Reopen that file(cloud version) on the mac and confirm if changes are saved.
    Open the file on your ipad device and the changes in the pdf should be reflected on your ipad device too.
    Do let me know if the issue persists. Moreover i would recommend you to turn on the Mobile Link on both your devices (mac and ipad).
    Regards,

  • Can I print to different paper sizes with AirPrint and Safari?

    I am the organizer of a trade show coming up.
    We are using a web based registration system for attendees.
    To print the attendee badges, we simply log in to the site through the net, and print them.  I have an HP CP1525nw loaded with 3x5 index cards that will slide into the badge holders.
    When printing from the Mac, I simply go to Page Setup, set the paper size and orientation and print.   It works great.
    However, we would love to use iPads for our registration staff.  Not only are they less expensive, but they are portable, and totally wireless.   We can access the site just fine, and the badges show great on the screen.   The website generates the badges as a .pdf file and they load into the browser.
    When printing from the iPad, the badges print HUGE, filling an entire 8.5x11 size page.   With the 3x5 card stock loaded in the paper tray, they still print huge, only showing the portion of the badge on the 3x5 card in the location it would be had there been letter size paper in the tray.
    Any ideas?
    I've considered formatting another badge for letter size, and having it print only where the 3x5 card would fall... but that is a huge tweak that I think should be unnecessary.
    How do I print to different size paper from my iPad?
    Thanks for the help in advance.
    --Brian

    Thanks for the info.
    It will let me send the PDF to eprint....  and there are paper size choices.
    However, they only offer Letter, Legal and A4.
    My printer DOES support 3x5 index cards.  But, the option is not listed.
    Any other ideas?

  • How do you print comments in pages under mavericks?

    How do you print comments in pages under mavericks? Earlier if show comments was checked, all the comments were visible and could be easily printed. Now only those comments are visible on which the cursor is pointed but even those do not get printed!

    Thanks to all for to the 'older Pages' suggestion. I don't have the last Pages on my mac anymore (although this is probably just me being really, really dumb), but the suggestion inspired me to try another very similar work around - which was also successful. Just in case anyone's in the same situation as me, am sharing it here!
    For absurd reasons I won't bother to explain, I've also got a version of Word for Mac. I prefer writing on Pages, though, so all my documents (and their comments...) are Pages files. In the really unlikely event that you've also ended up with both Pages and Word (I know...) just export to a .docx file, open it with Word, and print from there. It retains all comments, track chages, etc. This seems really obvious, but I hadn't thought of it...
    This can also be a work around for the lack of 'Compare Documents' and/or 'Merge Documents'.
    Of course this would all be much better if it were actually just in Pages...I hope this helps, and thanks!

  • How to print comments in Pages 5.0

    Is it still impossible to print comments in pages?

    When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

  • Print Comments Option Missing in Adobe Reader 9.4.0

    Using a PDF I downloaded online, I inserted comments using both Adobe Acrobat Pro and Nuance PDF Converter Pro.
    In both the Acrobat and Nuance applications I can print the PDF with the comments just fine.
    When I opened the document in Adobe Reader 9.4.0 it would not print the comments by default.
    I hunted around the File > Print & Edit > Preferences dialog boxes but found no such option in Reader 9.4.  It either does not exist, or I'm not looking in the proper place(s).
    I opened the same document in Adobe Reader X and I did have the option to print the comments as outlined in the instructions here (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/897/cpsid_89733.html).
    On that same page however it says a comment printing options should be on both the Edit > Preferences and File > Print dialog boxed in Reader 9 but it is not.  The instructions above appear to be inaccurate.
    I've tested this on multiple systems (same base OS & configuration) but the problem persists:  How does one print comments in Adobe Reader 9.4.0?  (Upgrading is not an option at this time.)

    Thanks for the speedy response!
    The repair didn't appear to do the trick.  The Comments option under Edit > Preferences is still missing and even with the Document and Markup option still selected, it doesn't actually print comments.I took it a step further & removed it completely then re-installed it but that didn't help.
    I am part of the IT organization .  So you're suggesting (or saying) there's a certain Adobe Reader 9.4 update that introduces this feature?  If so, do we know which specific update?  Is there a KB article, release note or change log that that covers/discusses this?

  • Can you print comments in Adobe Reader 8?

    I have a PDF document that has several comments ("sticky notes") added to it. I need to be able to print the document with the comments. However, I can't seem to find a way to do this. I've been searching online, but still can't find a solution.
    I have gone into print settings and selected 'Document and Markups', but still the comments don't print. Another site said to go to Edit > Preferences > Commenting > Print Notes and Popups , but I don't have a "Commenting" option.
    I don't understand why I would be able to add comments, but not be able to print them. I've checked the security on the document, and it's set as "Commenting Allowed". So I'm all out of ideas. Do I have to have Adobe Professional in order to print comments?

    Hi, I found this on Adobe's site. Give it a try.
    Cheers,
    Jenny
    Windows:
    In order to print comments from Adobe Reader 6, 7, or 8 you need to change a registry key. Please note that you edit the registry at your own risk.
    Open the registry editor and browse to the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ADOBE\Acrobat Reader\6.0(or7.0, or 8.0)\Annots\cPrefs
    Double click the 'bprintCommentPopups' key and change the value to 1
    For Adobe Reader 8 you will need to add the key manually.
    Add the following Reg key:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\Annots\cPrefs]
    "bprintCommentPopups"=dword:00000001
