Printing cover art from iTunes albums

Back in the days of Jaguar it used to be easy to print album art work from music purchased from iTunes Store. It was just the right size for a jewel case. Now with Tiger I can select the art work, copy it to a word processing app, and print it, but it is WAY too large and I can't reduce it enough to be the right size. There must be a way. Would appreciate your help! Thanks in advance.

Have you selected a track from the album whose artwork you want to print? When you do that, he album cover should appear in the left-hand column, below your playlists (provided you've hit the Show Artwork button at the bottom). Then the print command should be active. (If this isn't happening, I'm stumped.)

  • Bridge for Mac without cover arts from iTunes

    Hello,
I just upraded to Sony Bridge for Mac 3.9 (3903) and since then no cover art from iTunes albums is displayed any more.
Previous Version of the Bridge had already some difficulties with Cover Art, mainly regarding TIFF-images. But now
    nothing at all is displayed.
Of course I have restarted the application as well as the Mac itself - no change of the behaviour occured.
Do I still have any options to try?
    with best regards
    Matthias

    Hello,
I have mostly MP3-Files in my iTunes library (90%). Even purchased songs are converted to MP3 because of the higher compression, even with 160 kbit/s and VBR. But I think regarding coverart the graphics format is more important. Here native Apple cover art seems to be generally TIFF, which sometimes makes problems with Bridge for Mac, esp. larger images. If I convert those large TIFF-images to JPEG, the problems disappear most of the times.
And "Yes", I sent a bug report to SONY directly.
Thank you very much - Matthias

  • Copying cover art from iTunes for use in iPhoto?

I have a large music library with cover art for each album, I manually added the cover art to iTunes by saving it as a .jpeg under the name of the artist and album on the desktop and dragging and dropping it into the appropriate album in iTunes. I then apparently erred by deleting the .jpeg from the desktop rather than saving it in a separate folder. When I look in the Album Artwork folder, it just leads me down a road of more folders and ultimately to an ".itc" cover (which I assume to mean iTunes Cover). Now I want to somehow get a .jpeg copy of the cover art back out of iTunes and into a separate folder so I can view the cover art in iPhoto. Is this possible?   I really hope my error is reversible. All assistance will be appreciated.

    Hi,
I'm pretty new to FCE, so this might be useless. But I've found a trick (obtained from "Final Cut Express 2 Editing Workshop" by Tom Wolsky) which is to render audio at Item Level. It allows you to render a piece of music to the same sampling level as another item.
It seems to work fine, but some of these guys who've used this more might know of problems when using it.
Import your song from the Music folder (or wherever you have them stored) and just go into the Sequence/Render All or Render Selection menus and check the "Item Level." The next time you render your audio, it should render to the same properties as existing items in your project.
At least, that's how I gather it works. This won't help with copy protected songs as the guys mentioned, but the majority of my songs are not from the iTunes store, so it's useful to me. Hope that helps!

  • Missing cover art from iTunes on iPhone

Some of the albums on my iPhone (bought via iTunes) are missing their cover art. On my iMac all the albums in iTunes have their cover art. When I sync the iPhone on my iMac, the cover art doesn't update on the iPhone! The iPhone iTunes cover art used to be there, some of them were even bought from iTunes while on the iPhone.
Can anyone please please let me know how I can update all the cover art for albums on my iPhone?

I remember reading about something similar on the AT & T forum, http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/board/message?board.id=apple&message.id=94023 &query.id=478736#M94023

  • Exporting (dragging) Cover Art from iTunes just makes a picture clipping?

I have dragged cover art JPGs to songs in iTunes. Now I want to drag them back out to the desktop as JPGs. This used to be possible, but now I only get a picture clipping that I can't open with any other program than the Finder. Any ideas? I just want to be able to get certain covers out of iTunes as JPGs.

A neat trick I discovered is to control+click on the art in the view/show art window. It will then let you copy (and paste) art to an album or song there. You can also do that to and from other applications. For all I know you might be able to drag it to Photoshop.

  • I've always wanted to obtain and have perfect resolutioned cover art for my albums. I have been and downloaded albums from the iTunes store, and they come with really great cover art. How can I get cover art as precise and clean as the albums have on ther

My problem mainly concerns cover art.
There have been times when I downloaded albums from the iTunes store to find its cover art it is absolutely beautiful, and is absolutely 100% un stretched. Whereas when I have gotten images for a specific album from Google Images it's terribly pixelated and totally disgusting.
Is there a way for me to obtain cover art for my albums that is has clarity equal to the cover art on the iTunes store albums.
Or will it basically boil down to I can only get that cover art by downloading my albums off the store?

The old iTunes libraries do not restore any playlists or song counts.
They should you if you do the roll back properly... Opening files from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in Windows Explorer simply opens the current library. If you don't see the .itl file extension then don't give your copied and renamed file the extention or iTunes will create an empty library rather than using the renamed file.
If you had a complete pre-problem backup of your library you could restore that. On the assumption that isn't possible I have a script called ExportImport that could in principle be adjusted to save the relevant data from a backup of the library database and then reimport that data into the current library. See this thread for details.

  • Before I was able to transfer Cover Art from on-line sources to albums that iTunes didn't have (even when many of these were purchased thru them!) now I can't. If it still possible how do I do so?

    Hey Two Wolves,
Thanks for the question. Yes, you can still add your own Album Artwork to music in iTunes:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Add artwork to songs and other items
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12361
Add artwork to music and video
    Do any of the following:
    - Add artwork to one item at a time:
              1. Select an item in your iTunes library and choose File > Get Info.
              2. Click Artwork and do one of the following:
                        - Click Add, select an image file, and click Open.
                        - Drag the art file to the artwork area.
              3. To add artwork to another item, click Next or Previous.
    - Add the same artwork to multiple items: Select the items, choose File > Get Info, click Info, and drag an image file to the Artwork area.
    - Retrieve album artwork for songs in your library from the iTunes Store: Control-click the songs and choose Get Album Artwork from the pop-up menu.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • On itunes on my computer I put all my songs into the right albums and cover art on the albums but it doesn't show up that way on my ipod

On itunes on my computer I took the time to sort my songs put them by the correct artists and albums and got all the cover art for it but when i go to put it that way on my iPod it doesn't work that way? Why is it showing multiple albums for the same album and no cover art for some albums and unknown artists for the artist? It says differently on Itunes on my computer.

    Hi adtsalmon,
You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Here's the link to the Movie Rentals FAQs site FYI:

  • Update embedded Album Art from iTunes Store?

Missing Album Art is automatically added to my iTunes library. Excellent!
But I have a large number of albums/songs with embedded album art of low quality (200x200). Is there a way to update these without having to manually delete the old Album Art for each song individually?
Is there a way to embed the album art from iTunes into the mp3-files instead of storing them externally (in the iTunes Album Art directory?) Probably not........

Is there a way to update these without having to manually delete the old Album Art for each song individually?
Well, you don't have to do it individually -- you can select all the songs for which you want to delete, right-click and select "Get Info", then check the Artwork box, then click OK. This will delete all the artwork for those songs (permanently!)
Is there a way to embed the album art from iTunes into the mp3-files instead of storing them externally (in the iTunes Album Art directory?)
I have a script to do just that. You have to download it first (say, to your Desktop)
    http://teridon.googlepages.com/itunesinsertartwork.vbs
Then you have to run it using the Command Prompt:
    1) Bring up a command prompt (Start..All Programs..Accessories..Command Prompt)
    2) Enter these commands:<pre>cd Desktop
    cscript itunesinsertartwork.vbs</pre>
    3) Select the playlist (or select the whole Library with "1") which contains the songs for which you want to embed the artwork.
NOTE:Embedding artwork will cause your files to take up more hard drive space because for downloaded artwork iTunes only needs one copy. Embedding the artwork makes a copy of the artwork for every song with that artwork. Artwork files from the iTMS are typically 400-500 KB each.

  • IPhone album art from iTunes not downloading

Recently, I have not been able to get my album art from iTunes to download to my phone. It appears in my iTunes on my computer, but will not transfer. It also will not appear on my phone when I purchase the music FROM my phone, but appears in my computer's iTunes. I've reset my phone, but the problem continues. This problem has only been happening for about the last two months and I've had my phone over a year. (iPhone 4, Verizon)

the album covers are fine on itunes on my computer, but on my iphone they don't work. as in, when I sync my iphone to itunes, it switches the covers around to different covers. it seems to be random.

  • Same cover art on all albums!

Hi I have some albums on my iPhone. In iTunes the albums show different cover arts, however in my iPhone all albums got the same cover art from one of the other albums
How can I get the cover arts working as they should? Everything worked just fine till I added two new albums yesterday

Somehow the database has become corrupted. This can happen when unplugging the phone while it is still syncing or being accessed by your computer.
You will have to remove all music from the phone and the resync it once more. That's the only way to fix the artwork.
I've had to do this a few times on my iPod Classic and the only way to fix it was to remove the music then resync.

  • HT1473 How may one add cover art in iTunes 11, for a CD imported to the library? How may one add more than one images?

How may one add cover art in iTunes 11, for a CD imported to the library?
How may one add more than one images?

I understand what you mean - I too, would like to see some variability in the 'default'. Besides having a single default, I would step that up to a default that changes with genre and media: ie. I could see using a sax for Jazz; a microphone for a Podcast, etc.
I don't have the answer to your question yet, but I think I'm going to crack open the iTunes package to see what default images there are embedded in there.

  • Can't fetch Album Cover Art from Store, allthough Album exists!

    hi everybody!
I have a title in my library that I want to get the cover for from the iTunes Store. It is definately available and I named it exactly after the one in the store (album, title, artist, genre...)
But iTunes refuses to load the cover...it says "unable to find 'xx - yy' "
    Any clue?

Well, I have some good news... and some bad news.
    The bad news first:
Some time ago, I spend quite some time trying to get the artwork for the Lion King SE. However, if I managed to get a cover at all, it was only the original release, not the SE. I ended up scanning the artwork myself (something that has become sort of a habit anyway). I posted the cover on Kerry Shetline's Album Art Exchange (http://www.albumartexchange.com). You can get it there. The quality is ok, although it's the english version..
    The good news:
After trying a bit, I found the right 'combination' for your New Year's Concert:
Set 'Artist' and 'Album Artist' to: Wiener Philharmoniker
Set 'Album' to: New Year's Concert 2008
    Hit 'download artwork' and presto!
You can change the artist and album field back to what it was after you downloaded the artwork.

  • Wrong album art from iTunes

When I come across an mp3 which I bought from elsewhere and it has no artwork I search on iTunes to see if it is there - then match the album name and click download artwork. 9/10 it works fine but sometimes it gives me art which is totally wrong, even though when viewing the album in iTunes store is correct. For instance, The Very Best of Marvin Gaye is a nice cover but when iTunes downloads it for me it comes out as something called The Sounds of the Seashore - nowt to do with Marvin!
Any ideas why this happens - any fixes?
    Thanks

One of the biggest reasons that I've found where this happens is if there are "special" characters (i.e. ' " : ; ( ) -- those seem to be the biggest cuplrits,) in the Artist or Album name. There might be something else going on as well, as I'm also unable to download any Led Zeppelin artwork, even if the ID3 tags match the iTunes Store exactly.

  • Can i just take the album art from itunes store w/out buying

    ???
    can i just copy paste?

    Hi chaps,
I'm a bit fussing about my album art, like to have all my tunes with their respective covers on my nano!
Anyway, I use a program called iTunes Art Importer, which runs alongside iTunes (although 3rd party, not Apple).
Its dead simple to use, it pulls the art from Amazon. Just highlight your track (or tracks)and click search. I find using the "overide search text" works really well for not so well known music, just keep the search simple.
Anyway, here's the link, it's free, give it a try!
