Printing current selected pages

i was wondering - it there a way to print the currently selected pages in indesign //like we can do in acrobat//? its not very sexy to manually type in all the pages you want to output and writing a pdf file to select and print the pages in acrobat cant be the only way //having a 100+ pages and printing like 15 of them//
i hope you can help me, thank you in advance

Might be scriptable, but you see your built-in choices there in the dialog.

I have the HP Laserjet 1320 and when in a Word document and I want to print a selected page (i.e. page 2 of 4 only), under Pages on the Print Menu, I enter 2 or 2-2 and select print and it will not print! I can scroll down to place the pointer on page and tell it to print "current page" and it will print - why will it not print when I enter the page number I want to print.

My printer would not print multiple copies. It would only print one page at a time.

Add a BUTTON that ONLY prints a selected page range

Hello,
I have a 100+ page PDF which has 32 or so 'sections' which are accessible by bookmarks. I want to add a button that allows the reader to print ONLY the section they are in, i.e. a pre-selected page range that I embed in the button.
Is this possible?
If not, is there any other way to do this? The document was originally created in Word and is broken up by Sections.

It's possible using a script, but the user will always be able to edit that pre-defined range, if they wanted to.
The only option where they can't edit it is by using a script that silently prints the section, but that requires installing a script on the local machine of each user that is going to use the file.

Smartform : Print only selected pages from multiple pages

Hi,
I've a smartform with six pages: Pag1, Page2 ...Page6. (all six pages are one smartform )
My driver program has six check boxes corresponding to the above six pages, based on my check box selection I want to print the pages.
Does it possible with one smartform ? and How ?
Do I need to create six different smartforms ?

You have two option to full fill your requirment
1,
create a alternative in your main window.
right click-> create-> flow logic -> alternative.
Alternative hold two conditions namely true an false.
This alternative acts as a if else condition. So give your condition in true and start creating your windows and tables/templates under it.
And false condition create what all you require if true condition fails.
With this you can control pages with the conditions.
2.
Create pages as per your requirement.
In the global definition > initialization tab>
if w_page = 1.
control_parameters-startpage = '%PAGE1'.
else.
control_parameters-startpage = '%PAGE2'.
ENDIF.
w_page is the variable what you pass in the driver program

How do I print only selected pages from my ipad?

Whenever I print my emails and search on the web, the only option I see is "PRINT" , to start printing.
I don't seem to see any option what pages that I want to print.
I'm waisting lots of paper and ink.

Yiann is right. The AirPrint driver is not smart enough to do half a print job. Nif you only want a single page, copy and paste it to a document and print that.
I bet in a year we will have more control, but it is not there now.

Spry Menu Bar Show Highlighting currently selected

Is there a way to get a vertical Spry menu to leave the
lights on while we're on a given page? I'd like to affect the menu
behavior to cue it to leave the highlighting turned on for the
currently selected page. I'm hoping there's a short script I could
add to individual pages to tell the menu where we are. If my menu
has 6 vertical list items, and the page I an displaying was loaded
by clicking on the third item in the list, then I'd like item three
in the menu to remail highlighted. This would cue the user to know
where they are in the menu for any given page. Looking at the
script near "show menu highlighting and MenuBarItemHover"

i think the reason the spry menu isn't working is because it
needs to expand past the frame, which isn't possible. if you want
you can use
this
it's compact and it doesn't need to exapand past the frame.

Single page printing of multiple page calendar file

I have created a calendar in Photoshop Elements 9. While printing it, I had problems with my printer. How do I go back and print only select pages from my project without having to reprint everything? I tried creating a pdf file - but a page consists of upper and lower halfs of the month of the calendar. Since I have to print upper half on one side of the page and lower half on the other side of the page - this won't work. I would appreciate any assistance.

Suggest that you use a desktop editing program such as MS WORD, or MS Publisher, or a greeting card program.
Go to www.avery.com. select a template for your paper stock, and open it in WORD (e.g.)

How can I select pages to print from a Word document using the report generation 'print report' vi?

I have researched the knowledge base and found:
Printing A Range of Pages or Number of Copies of a Report Using the Report Generation Toolkit in LabVIEW.
This seems to be from a previous version of LV. I am using LV2010. The instructions given do not match up with the current vi. The information did provide a tip and drilling down into the vi I was able to insert the from/to page numbers at the printout invoke method, however this prevents the print function from working in that it can no longer find the default printer.
The error message is:
Error 1015 occurred at NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Word_Print.vi -> NI_Word.lvclassrint Report.vi ->
error 1015 is: Printer is not responding. Check printer configuration.
Any ideas how I can make the modification to print, for example, pages 24 through 29 out of a 32 page word document?

Hello, take a look at this article. Unfortunately the Generate Report Get Data to Modify.vi was remove since RGT 1.1.3 release. That being said, we can try to find a workaround. See "Configuring a Printer Through the Windows Dialog in LabVIEW", open the GetPrinterSettings.vi, at the PrinterSettings property node you can select the from/to page. I hope this helps.

How to print current page in Preview

Printing in Preview, I don't see an option in the print dialog that enables "print current page", how is that done?
The reason is that have a 90 page PDF document and the page numbers don't match so I can't just choose to print for example "from page 51 to 51", the wrong page prints (page 39). Both the drawer and the separate pages says the same page number but not when printing.

Yeah, I thought so. I find the printing options very limited, across the board. To do things like "print current page" or "print selection" in Preview or Safari should be easy and obvious.

Printing Select Pages

I have AA 8.0 on two PCs. One will allow printing selected pages and the other will not. How do I correct this for the one that does not print select pages.
Here's what I do.
On the PC that is able to print select pages:
Open the "Pages" tab, select two pages out of say 4, click the Print botton and the "Current View" changes to "Select Pages"
Is there a setting that will enable printing Select Pages?

I don't have 8 on my system any longer. It works in 9 just fine. I'd
suspect that there might be a damaged preference file somewhere. Things
that you can try:
1) Repair installation with Acrobat.
2) Quit Acrobat, remove printer driver, reboot, install printer driver
and test.
3) Remove Acrobat completely and then re-install.
Interestingly enough in Acrobat 9 you can select pdfs in a portfolio and
print them, but you cannot select pages in the pages pane in pdf in a
portfolio to print. The entire pdf gets selected to print. Strike one
against portfolios. You can of course just enter the pages you want to
print---which may work in your senario as well. You may not be able to
select the pages to print, but you can place them in the print dialog
box and it should print only those pages.

6310 only prints current page

My 6310 has always worked fine, until I replaced my laptop with a windows 7 unit. This laptop is networked to the desktop which has the 6310 attached. Now it only prints a single page document from the networked laptop, or it will print individual pages one at a time by selecting current page. If I try to select pages 1-2, it will not print at all, nor will it print if I select all. It goes through the motions, and the progress bar shows that something is happening, but it never reaches the printer.

I too am having the same problem. I have a 7310. It will print multiple pages from Word, but nothing else I have found yet (Safari, Preview, etc). My wifes iBook does the same. Both are running 10.4.7 and the latest HP drivers.

Print Current Page only

I have added a print button to each page of my 4 page form, but I want the print button to print only the current page the user is on. I have put the following script in, but this prints the designated page plus any subsequent pages. How do I print only the specified page?

No, but it's possible to add a new menu item to Reader that will open the Print dialog with that option selected by default when you click it.
